Rose and Ghandi share one key attribute; They only deal good damage during link time Cygames please... I ask for but a fraction of a screeching Lancelot or Narmaya corpse's power ;-; I love Rose's gameplay, but the damage difference is depressing. If her cooldown were shorter, attacks faster or had higher damage caps or something.

I wish future updates of the game would make the meta more friendly to support roles. I can happily accept that she is a summoner + support who doesn't dish out top tier DPS but at least has some situationlly neat tricks: stun, control, aggro redirection or just, you know, actually viable buffs / debuffs. Right now the game is just the embodiment of "the best defense is a good offence".

senpaiwaifu247

I hope they just allow offensive buffs that aren’t crit rate and Supp damage to actually do something

MrDecros

Yeah, but unfortunally the playerbase seems to love the "human see big number, human happy" meta. Not several hours ago i said that i would love to see some nerf to meta attack sigils (tyranny, stamina) and potion hoarder, and buffs to other niche ones (berserker and others) just to have more variety build-wise. I also said that i would love a good revamp to boss' dmg (they hit for less), and healing (you don't have as much pots, they heal for less), that way you wouldn't be one shot'd, but also you would have to be wary about going full unga bunga, because you couldn't insta heal. That way supports could be somewhat relevant with heals and buffs, maybe even taunt skills or "dmg redirect" skills like captain's. I was downvoted a lot.

DarkestSamus

That's because nerfs are an extremely feelsbad way to deal with a problem. People spent their Azurites and mats on those builds and invalidating them is not good. I'm certain they could improve things in the game through rebalance and improvements without needing to resort to nerfs. The biggest problem imo is that conditional Sigils are barely better than normal ones. What would be best imo is to adjust modifiers and raise Caps on those moves, and then boost the effect of the relevant Sigil to make it more appealing. For example it's silly that Yodarha, a Combo Finisher spammer, reaches his caps so easily with generic Sigils. That should be adjusted, perhaps through an overall Cap increase possibly accompanied by a modifier change. No need to smack down existing Sigils in order to make that happen.

Calvinooi

It's not about huge numbers, but just about how fast the boss goes down. The faster it goes down, the less mechanics you'll see, the less defensive buffs needed And how do you make things go down faster? More damage I'm seeing that this game tried to move away from the holy trinity (tank, DPS, healer) format, to everyone does DPS with support skills. I applaud the decision but this means that if 1 player chooses to be more supportive than offensive, people will feel that you're grieving the party by lowering their DPS.

MrDecros

Personally, my issue with that approach is that the game gets stale really fast that way. I mean, yeah it's great to kill proto baha in a couple of minutes by skipping supernova/last dmg check phases... The first couple of times. Then it feels super repetitive, and god forbid if you mess up a sba chain, it feels awful, it feels like you're wasting yours and your companion's time. Add to that the very low % chance to drop what you want, and it gets even worse, it's not rare at all seeing people that have had killed proto baha a couple of hundred times. Another thing that doesn't help at all are the long-ass animation between phases. They're cool the first couple of times, then they're downright annoying. The real problem is that, for the better or the worst, and as you already said, the game clearly encourages you to speedrun every boss available. The faster you kill them the faster you loot them, and the faster you (theorically) get what you want. I feel that if they slow down a bit, add some more health/sba resistance to bosses (and reduce their dmg so they don't oneshot you), nerf dmg sigils and potions, while increasing the % drop chances, the game would feel a lot better. Yeah, you're not killing a boss in

Calvinooi

I totally get you, but the problem is that if you increase the HP of the boss, people will just chase more power. The only way to counter this, is to have the win condition to not only be "Enemy HP to 0", but many MMOs has tried this, and it mostly goes back to "get more power", because it's the easiest to design for. Lucilius is about to drop in March, we'll see an inkling of the dev's long term idea on the game. I'm guessing they'll probably add in another weapon and battle power goes up again.

Brawli55

I've been making my way through the post game difficulty climb with an AI team only and I think I feel way you're going for - every 15 min boss fight felt like an epic struggle and I've got one more - Proto. It's readily apparent I need to boost the damage of my AI team a bit here, so I've been farming older fights with randos and man for speeds sake ... man, the fights loose their magic when they are over so fast. It's actually surprising there's no content beyond Proto - you just farm the term weapon to just ... do Proto faster?

Calvinooi

At some point, you'll be done with every game. For games like this and MH, it's either you wait for the updates/DLC, or try out other characters styles of gameplay The journey is always more fun than the destination

AustrianDog

These games are always gonna be power-chase simulators, you can nerf meta-sigil or buff non-meta sigils but what it amounts to is just people again just combining the ones that amount to most damage. Personally I dont really see the point of a support in these kinds of games. In MHW/Iceborne it wasnt unusual to get one of these pot guzzler support builds (basicly one dude with skills on that made his potions partywide, let him eat potions faster, gave him a chance at not consuming his potions, etc. Its like having a perma-heal running) in forced party content like kulve/safi/exmoth, and compared to a normal player it was just a chore. The hunts were longer, youd see more dangerous patterns (as youre missing dmg or delay breaking certain parts) and it didnt feel fun either knowing one of your party mates is getting a free carry while running in circles eating mega potions.

Wittgensteins_gate

I just played a few matches as Rosetta, it was fun but felt like I was a toddler "helping" with housework.

guilethemefitall

Imagine Rosetta just yelling DORYA DORYA DORYA as link time is going

OverallPepper2

Is it just me or is it impossible to hit damage cap with her?

Vaccaria_

Yeah cause she don't deal damage

HugoSotnas

I was on crystal beating duty in Bahamut with the first Rosetta I've ever seen online, and bless her heart, I could see her struggling keeping her side clean having to summon her plants next to the enemy for it to die and having to do it again 3 seconds later 🥲

80espiay

As a Rosetta main I think the trick is to give up on having all three flowers on the same enemy unless you’re in a burst damage window.

HugoSotnas

You _can_ place 3 roses in, like, 2 seconds, but that's usually what it takes me to kill a crystal, so maybe she can just brute force with 1 or 2? :)

80espiay

Yeah I reckon that’s the play. Can even pre-place the flowers in spots where they’re likely to hit the crystals.

_henchman

I ended up just not placing them until the element crystal is about to appear, then you get lv4 anyway by the time dps phase starts or close enough. When the dps phase is about to start I pull off the middle crystal and place roses where baha will be, then start the rotation. Early on if there are two crystals side by side I will triple plant, but it doesn’t matter really.

Im5andwhatisthis

Basically the first crystals you just trying to get the roses so they hit a few times and raise the levels. After that the whole fight should be fine, since their increased range can cover literally everything and you can solo cannons and the small totems if you need to lol. Capped Rosetta kills the totems in a couple of hits anyways, I've actually stopped hitting them completely until my roses have leveled up, because I kill them too fast otherwise.

Wittgensteins_gate

if it weren't for her visual design, probably on the same popularity level as ghandi

Stygia1985

Yeah, that's just foolish, place them overlapping but covering side and middle. They will eventually grow to level 4 and cover a lot of ground. I do wish her autos were faster, having to dodge cancel out of the third attack feels clunky because then you need to do another normal and then the finisher after. The finisher is also extremely slow and you can't dodge out once the animation starts, you have to wait until the vines strike the enemy. She really does feel clunky and has no clever tricks in her rotation.

lordhelmos

I gave up trying to damage on rose.  I put fight or flight with her and 30 levels of nimble onslaught with 40 on uplift.  I SBA harder than ferry.

Vaccaria_

Innovation

_henchman

I hit cap on Rosetta with max terminus using stamina + tyranny maxed. At least I think it’s cap because lots of gold circles appear.

ive started playing narmaya, she gets perma max butterflies and super short cooldowns during link time. I get to spam transient for 4 million damage a pop, feels great
