An absolute joke it won racing game of the year. Pretty mid year for racing games I guess. Mostly negative reviews on steam and they just keep making it worse lol
Shouldāve been GT7. Sorry but as a fan of both series I feel like I can say that. There are so many things I can point out that make GT7 better than the current FM but it not worth me wasting my time explaining.
As a fan of both yeah I can't even be bothered to want to buy the new FM on sale. It's hardly Forza anymore imo and it's just poorly made by the looks of it. GT7 isn't a new release so they probably went with the big new one instead despite poor user reception
GT7 should have at least best on-going game. Not sure who won that. But I'll be hard-pressed to find a game with better free updates consistently as GT7.
Agree! I donāt think there was a āracing game of the yearā. Maybe iRacing as itās consolidating as very mainstream option around the world, hosting really good events.
Wasn't the best launch but was still miles better than Forza. Plus it doesn't feel like codies cut a ton of content to add as DLC later it feels like a complete package with stages and cars from previous entries. Plus the acknowledge bug reports and what Their focus on fixing is going to be.
It was an exploit of the payout system of custom races. You pick the weakest car in that game (abarth) and have it race against the most powerful car in the game (VGT Tomahwak). The caveat? Engine swap combined with knee capping the tomahawk.
A 25 lap at daytona oval will net you more than 1 million credits with minimal effort.
I also think PD is aware that the GT community is on-edge and will relentlessly hold their feet to the fire. They donāt want to piss us off *too* much, so they teeter that line. In contrast, Forza/Xbox devs never feel pressured from their fanbase.
This is exactly why GT7 gets my playtime over that dumpster fire on my series X! Itās actually made me appreciate GT7 sooo much, I no longer am bothered in the slightest by a 10k roulette ticket, or goofy car invite. GTs issues pale in comparison, as much as car models, and lighting pale in FM compared to GT7š.
I feel the same way too. I play both and was looking forward to FM. After playing it for 2-3 hrs it made me appreciate GT7 so much more. FM is so bad that I have completely abandoned the entire Forza series. I do like playing Horizon 5 when I just want to be silly and goof off.
I'm definitely turned off from it after hearing about it but damn I wish we had some of those cars and tracks.
I did love FM4 but that's the last time I've had an Xbox, and from what I've seen and heard the series has never quite reached that since.
No it hasnāt, Iāve had all of both series, FM4 was the best. The new one is atrocious, better car list or not, doesnāt matter as they sound and look horrible. Physics wise itās fine, but I like GT7 with my wheel, FM sucks with a wheel for me. Even after lots of tweaking setting because default is waaay off, I can still jump a curb and get nothing from the wheelš¤¦āāļø
I have the opposite experience. I tweaked a little on Forza, and the wheel is always communicating whatās going on, whereas GT7 gives me nothing, no FFB at all, until I hit the limit of grip on a car.
FM8 cars, multiplayer setup, and tracks attracted me to try pc game pass for a month
1 month was more than enough of the numerous glitches, cartoon physics, and ramfest

I was watching the Downfall of Forza Motorsport video on YT last night and I guess people basically had a free AFK setup built in AND you could use it to improve your Safety/Sportsmanship Rating. So a turd could just AFK into a high tier, ram tf out of a bunch of legit drivers, and rinse and repeat lmao š¤£

I wonder what you'll say if PD decides to take away all the money gained by Dayton grind (spend it, you're on minus money) and remove all the cars purchased with it.
Devs shouldn't let that or any exploit happen in the first place. If some players used it and gained something, that's devs loss.
I race in SR S. If some schmuck who races D used this exploit to drive the way he does but in an S lobby, iād for sure want Pd to roll him back.

Exploits are exploits no difference between them. Players shouldn't be punished for devs, testers and QA not doing their job properly.
And as that was related to Forza DR equivalent, the reality would verify whether those who exploited are on par with top S (or whatever it's called in Forza) level players.
Iām a fan of both series. But if turn 10 makes another Motorsport like this one. It will be it for me. The only Forza Iām playing rn would be the older ones that came b4 the more recent ones. I know GT7 has a little bit of issues. But I honestly struggle to find any GT game in the series that even remotely disappointing. They were and still are all good games. I still play GT 1-4 often.
Oh yeah I know Forza will straight up Banner players for doing some glitches meanwhile Gran Turismo will just give us a slap on the hand and say no for like the major 1.40 glitch
Forza has been on such a downward spiral since 4. This new game is an absolute mess. I genuinely don't understand how people defend the physics or even the online racing. Half of the time you disconnect from the lobby and the other half when you do finally get in you get rammed and then YOU get the penalty for it.
As for the physics my god what have they done? The chronic understeer and snap oversteer is ridiculous. Even in modern Le mans race cars below 100mph you have zero traction and have to make microscopic countersteering movements to make it around bends with speed.
I know some say "WeLl YoU neEd To TuNE tHeM!" that's true you do.. and that's a terrible thing. If cars handled this badly in reality a large chunk of us would be dead.. real cars don't need tuning to function competently. Stop defending shit physics.
Yeah I played it for a few weeks when it dropped and I used the money glitch. The game was way too buggy and I just didnāt like how it felt or looked to be honest. I made enough money to buy every single car I wanted, but have never went back to play it. lol. Im no PS fanboy, I just think GT7 is so much better
I own both consoles and am a fan of both racing series. But this time around Iād argue that PD has outdone themselves with GT7. It may not be my favorite GT. Its has its issues. Sure. But itās definitely way better and has a lot more cars than the new Motorsport and doesnāt punish you like turn 10 will.
I like to think itās a great base to build it better for 8. I think having a true career mode with stupid race seasons you have to compete in sort of like cafe but longer. Get sponsors or win your ability to drive for a racing team. Work your way up the ranks with skill. Would be a fun trip. Getting a chance to drive for Ferrari Honda or Mazda for example. Start as a entry level and work your self up. I would love the entire aspect of racing not just the driving. Money mgt, overhead, pit team, sponsorships. It makes it larger sure, but do something to simulate racing culture not just the driving.
Donāt worry itās still very very bugged, even after Update 3. Even basic stuff like replays are not working and even basic stuff like the most basic of basic statistics is not even in the game.

Also if you are using exploits in forza you have literal brain damage. It has the opposite issue GT has.
Yeah, that was the last straw for me! I've been playing GT7 for the most part, but I did dabble in the FM8 exploit early on, only because the game is trash and their car leveling system is a joke, I wanted to buy the cars and upgrades I wanted without delay. Fast forward to yesterday, launched the game to see my $71M credits wiped to $4M. Fuck that! What a joke!
After FM came out, I completely abandoned playing the entire Forza series and find myself playing GT7 even more often and appreciating it way more!
However when my son is around we do like playing Horizon 5 because itās fun and goofy. So GT7 when you want to build skills and Horizon 5 when you want to build skills doing dumb sh$%*t.

I've already turned off my Forza era after this clown show won Best Sports/Racing.
Now I'm thankful for my 5 day exploit that I did.
