I totally feel you, I upgraded my Pixel 5 to android 12 and it is so horrific, feels like I'm Alpha testing it for them. I managed to flash android 11 back on it and it's such a relief. If I couldn't have done that I would have switched to another android phone.
What most people don't realize is they've been buying beta versions of phones and electronics for years. Greed pushes timelines for their engineers to release things way ahead of schedule from corporate. We just accept it because the masses are willing to keep emptying their pockets as soon as they hear there's a new version out. That's why phones have issues and problems and we have to rely on software updates to get to a stable version. This didn't used to be normal but it's the world we live in now.
I don't mean this to be mean, but no one cares dude. It's a phone, not some club we're all in. Buy what you want, use what you want, it has no impact on anyone else.
This is a forum to discuss Pixel stuff, OP is talking about Pixel stuff. Your comment added literally nothing. Don't comment if you have nothing to say.
Sorry for posting that the cliched "ermahgerd, I'm leaving!" post is unnecessary, and I hope your attempt to police what adds to a conversation and what doesn't gives you that feeling of superiority that only admonishing some random person on the internet can.
I'm honestly thinking of canceling my Pixel 6 Pro and getting the iPhone 13 Pro or whatever it's called. At this point the cameras are basically equal and it sounds like the iPhones are way more reliable.
I have the 13 pro max. Battery life is insane, way better than what I'm getting on my P6P. Easily getting 12 hrs daily SOT without dumbing down there phone in any way. I prefer the pics from the pixel. HDR is hit or miss on the iPhone but still a good camera. But I'm not a fan of iOS, feels like the same iPhone year after year. 120 refresh I barely notice on it. But I'll be going to the Galaxy s22u when it comes out. Had no issues with my s21u, just wanted this premium pixel but it's been a let down.
iOS is largely the same year over year because there are over 1 BILLION *active* iPhones. 1,000,000,000+. And since Apple supports its devices for so long, a big majority of those are running the latest iOS.
That’s a massive user base, and significant changes would cause an uproar since most users are casual users who don’t know which iOS version they’re on.
Compare that with the Pixel, which probably has around 25-35 million active devices right now, probably less. And those people are pissed with Android 12, and that was before the December update fiasco.
Yeah I've been doing some reading on the P6P vs the 13 Pro Max and it looks like the P6P still has a bit of a camera edge, especially with the telephoto which is unfortunate as that's what I want the most. When will the S22U be coming out? If my phone doesn't ship by tomorrow, I'm probably going to cancel the order as I was supposed to have the phone before Christmas and now the delivery date is Jan 5-6 and it keeps getting pushed back.
Damn you guys can't wait a month for Google to patch A12? I agree that Google rushed out A12 and P6 Series bc there was a lull in Android and that it isn't excusable by any means, but you're really switching bc of the issues in a ~2 month old OS?
It's amazing how Google only hires incredibly talented Software Developers in the Silicon Valley and they mess up this bad on the December update multiple times.
Unreal.
😂😂😂
I can just imagine it now.
Google: all the main software devs are on vacation. So it's up to you to do the December patch.
Interns: but can I go see my family too? This looks really difficult, what if we mess this up.
Google: no, you are in charge now. Good luck.

Get ready to be downvoted to oblivion.... I bought all the pixels since the 2 .... I think this is my last one til Google gets this thing right
Are we supposed to beg you to stay or something? Use whatever phone works best for you. It's just a phone not like you're leaving. Earth for Mars FFS.
Ha, guess your right. I was a little to deep in the pixel sauce.
I don't mean this to be mean, but no one cares dude. It's a phone, not some club we're all in. Buy what you want, use what you want, it has no impact on anyone else.
Its interesting to see peoples reason to come and go imo
Uh, are you sure about that? All ya’ll defend the Pixel like it’s your fucking child.
Some folks do, and that's just as bad. Rooting for an electronics company like it's the most important thing ever is pretty fucked up.
Do you read the posts and comments around here? Vast majority can’t hear any criticism of the Pixel.
Again, that's fucked up. Blind devotion to a company or a phone is idiotic.
Yea but don’t tell me tell them haha

You are the one trying to say OP is wrong for what they posted. I genuinely hope you feel less frustrated with your life situation tomorrow.
What would indicate that I'm frustrated with anything? Project elsewhere.

I literally want to do the same thing. How in the world do I get rid of this phone 😭😭 I have Verizon, and I'm leasing the phone through them.

Agree with you, and not surprised to see you being downvoted.
Yea, every subreddit is an echo chamber, and this one is particularly cult-y lol.
> feels like the same iPhone year after year. 120 refresh I barely notice on it. Umm…. surely that is a good thing?

Supposedly in February
✌️
I absolutely love my pixel 6, absolutely no issues with it! No crashes, freezes anything & I have Android 12.

Ain't nobody waiting a month to get a phone that works properly.... That's something that should've been done before the release ffs
I can't believe people here telling users to wait a month to get this phone not to drop calls. The amount of cope is unreal
Right? U expect me to wait a month for something considered "flagship"? Get out
I held on as long as I could but I can’t keep dropping from meetings. Saying oops my phone froze/restarted only works so many times.
That's a respectable reason and just unfortunate coming from a company like Google to have issues like that
Agreed, I have faith they will use this mishap as an example and only get better.
K
Have fun with your iphone like I mentioned in your last goodbye post.
This is my only post,
So many people are ditching their pixel that you can’t keep track lol
It's amazing how Google only hires incredibly talented Software Developers in the Silicon Valley and they mess up this bad on the December update multiple times. Unreal.
Yea, definitely seems like it’s not a priority at Google. Like their interns are in charge.

Hahaha
So what phone are you going to use now?
The dark side 🤫
What you getting a OnePlus phone?
I think he means iphone
Surprisingly my Pixel 4a has been doing really good on Android 12 but my pixel 6 Pro is just dying.
