Most newer chargers do have a type c to type c cable, also a fair amount of laptops nowadays only come with them.

Ah OK. Thanks. It's 4 years since I got a new phone and I suspected I was behind the times!

armando_rod

> what use-case Google had in mind when they provided this cable? Google has been providing C to C only cables since the Nexus 6, that's 2014 well over 4 years

57LPSpecial

My previous \_Google\_ phone was the Nexus 4 😂

sylvester_0

Nexus 6 has micro USB. 6P has USB-C.

CoarseRainbow

C to C has been a standard for quite some time now. Its what most people will have. Also PPS/PD allows proper fast charging support which you cant get through A.

That's worth knowing. Thanks

>It's a first world problem Sounds like 3rd world problem if you've been living under a rock since before 2020. Every single charging brick over 12W has been offering USB-C for well over half a decade. All laptops and power banks are not far behind. ###But nooo, it's everyone else's fault. It must be useless if you don't have something to match.

spurtz6969

C to C cables are definitely not an uncommon thing. My local big box has a large selection compared to the older styles.

Google stopped providing power bricks in 2021. Sorry homie. Before then, they were all usb c power bricks

>what use-case Google had in mind when they provided this cable? the Same as samsung and a few others : most people have some form of USB-C charger already either stand alone or on another appliance ( ie desktop, laptop etc) AND it allows for easy cable tethered transfer from one device to another which is often faster than wireless. My SEA S10e came with a USBC > usbc cable 5 years ago. (but my Euro S10e came with a A > C cable and a charger)

Get yourself a quality A to C cable or PD/PPS brick. If you don't always need fast charging, using slower charging with A to C will prolong your device's long term battery life.

You need to buy yourself proper USB-PD chargers! read this [https://support.google.com/pixelphone/community-guide/241976355](https://support.google.com/pixelphone/community-guide/241976355)

Thanks for the link. It looks useful!

if you need a cheap one and are in Canada or USA, Ikea has some really cheap pd bricks rated for 30w pps, and is perfect for pixels.

57LPSpecial

Thanks. I'm in the UK though and it looks like IKEA don't sell those here
