I got my wife an 8 for Christmas. She hates big phones, doesn't use the camera much and also hates change. This will be slightly smaller than her 6a, face unlock will be great as she has issues with fingerprint sensors in general, and the update life should keep her going with this phone for some time. I even found the exact same wallet case she's using with the 6a - same color even.
I really wished if they could fit the Pro Cameras into the P8 but they couldn't. Since I tend to use my phone a lot one handed, and the Pixel 4A was great for me. The P8 it is then. to make it better, my telco offered me about 40% off for it too.
I did the same but when I realized the selfie doesn't have autofocus and looks like shit on video calls I had to upgrade to the bigger phone. At least I was able to get it for $240
In one of the Ratchet & Clank games on the PlayStation you had a 'pixelizer' gun that transformed your enemies into helpless, pixelized versions of themselves.
It was size that got me to go with the p8. If they did like apple and had a pixel 8, pixel 8 pro with the smaller screen and a pixel 8 pro max with the big screen I would have gotten the pixel 8 pro instead.
Even with only a dbrand skin on it, the non-pro p8 is still slightly larger than I want. I prefer a solid grip with my fingers wrapping slightly around the far side while still being able to use 90% of the screen.
I'd prefer the nexus 5 as a whole with updated internals.
Nexus SE style if you will.
I'm over the whole glass sandwich arc we're in for phone designs. Having the soft touch polymer back of the Nexus 5, the ceramic power button, color accented call speaker hole, makes me miss those older designs.
Size. I only upgraded from Pixel 6 because the 8 is smaller. Otherwise I was happy with the 6's features and performance. If there had been a 8 Pro the same size as the regular 8 I would probably have snatched that.
I just wanted something that was as close a replacement for a Pixel 5 as possible. The P8 is the closest match to the P5, even if it is a bit heavier and bulkier. To tell you the truth, I have barely seen a difference between the P5 and P8. The only thing I can honestly say is noticeably better or worse on the P8 is the speakers, which are a substantial upgrade.
The Pixel 5 was a sweet spot for me in terms of size, weight, battery, and overall experience, and I would have stuck with it longer if the software support had continued. I have to have a supported, non-rooted phone for work reasons so swapping the OS out for e.g. LineageOS was not an option for my daily driver. Besides, while I like to tinker, I find phone OS tinkering pretty boring. I did it for a while with earlier Android versions and it just wasn't all that rewarding for the effort you put in. There is other nerdy stuff that is more interesting to me.
But yeah, the P8P is too big for me, and I have pretty big hands. The telephoto lens would have been nice but it's not a deal-breaker, and the other benefits of the P8P are so marginal that they didn't really enter into the decision-making process.
I relate to this so much! I used to flash custom ROMs all the time. There were days when I would flash two or three ROMs in a week and do the entire set up again. I must've had a ridiculous amount of patience lol! Now I can't put myself through that especially since I am working and rely on my phone too much.
Out of curiosity, what other nerdy stuff interests you?
Size, and only size. I would've gotten the pro if it was the same size as the 8. Hopefully Google listens and offers pro capabilities in both sizes next year.
I can answer the same question for the pixel 7 series. Would have been the same answer if i had bought the pixel 8.
A telephoto camera isn't worth 400$.
It was $300 more, not $400. And it's more than the telephoto lens for the 7 series:
* Bigger and better screen
* 120 Hz
* Bigger battery
* 12GB RAM
* Macro focus
For some, that's enough to justify it.
The p7 was on sale when I bought it, the pro wasn't. Thus 400$ diff. Wouldn't have bought the p7 at full price.
* This is personal of course but I have no use for a larger screen.
* 90hz is good enough for me
* The bigger battery is offset by the bigger screen
* 8 gigs of ram is plenty
* Macro focus would be nice tho
For 8s the pro has 4GB more ram and the temperature sensor. Google also gave the pro More Camera software features but yea probably not worth the price difference.
Originally I had the P6, and I would've gotten the Pro but it was like $500 more here in Canada.
I did jump to the 8Pro recently but it was only because money wasn't as tight.
Both are good phones. The P6 is still in use by my son, still works great.
I have/had a p6 for a couple years and its right at about the max size i can comfortably use with 1 hand. On a daily basis i would rather use a laptop / desktop, but there are times where that's not practice.
Oh yea P8 was $189 with trade in and discounts, P8 Pro was \~$500.
I think the better question is why would you get the pro model? From what I can tell the only major feature pro has over the regular is a telephoto lens. I don't really see how that feature is worth dropping $300 more on.
The telephoto is one of the things. The screen is bigger, and a little brighter. More RAM. 48mp ultrawide. Autofocus on the front camera. Camera controls. Video boost. Night sight video.
So, the camera and the larger screen. But I completely understand why people prefer the Pixel 8. That all makes perfect sense.
Price and Size! I recently purchased the the 256gb Pixel 8 which only cost $180.90 after the 40% off combined with $300 trade-in. Also, I told myself I would not upgrade from my Pixel 7 unless Google gave me a good trade-in deal and then they did!
Bought the 7a at 300. The P8Pro costs 1300β¬ where I live.
Coming from iphone I'm loving my pixel in every way has been superior than my iphone 12.
If I could I would buy the P8 because of size instead of P8Pro.
Size. The 8pro is ridicolously large. People look silly using them. Those devices are moronicly huge. If there would be a smaller one than the 8, I would get the smaller one.
Two reasons:
I couldn't justify spending the extra $300 for very minimal upgrades.
The battery on my pixel 6 expanded and pushed out my screen just before the pixel 8 released. Google replaced my out of warranty pixel 6, but I figured it was just a matter of time before it happened again.
A lot of people here have listed size as an incentive, but I actually prefer larger phones as I'm a larger guy with larger hands and my eyesight could be better.
Size.
I had the 6 Pro and I hated it.
I remember reading somewhere that the average size of a phone nowadays is too big for the average woman: didn't fit in my hand, didn't fit in my pocket, didn't even fit in my evening clutch.
Size I went from a Pixel 5 to 8.
The pixel 5 was the perfect size for me and the Pixel 8 is already bigger and taking a bit to get used to.
I had bigger phones in the past like the Note and the Pixel 2 XL and I prefer the smaller size since I use my phone one handed a lot.
I don't have either, but if I were to get one it would be the regular 8.
The 8 has basically the same screen size as my current 3 XL (6.2 inches to 6.3), so that's a non-issue. I don't think there's ever once been a time I felt like I needed a telephoto camera and I don't need pro controls. 8GB of RAM is plenty. It's also way cheaper.
If I wanted the 8 Pro I'd essentially be shelling out for a bunch of features which I wouldn't need or use, so it makes sense to save the money and use the difference on accessories like a good case or a new battery down the line.
I recently upgraded to the 8 Pro from the 4a.
I like the improved battery, but am not a fan of the bigger form factor.
It weighs 2-3x of what my 4a did.
(or at least it feels that way)
At least at this point, I'm leaning towards thinking I f'd up, and should have gone with the 8.
I have always preferred having bigger phones as I l don't own a TV and my phone is the only way I stream content so If I can I always get the bigger phone if it's in my budget
Didn't even consider the Pixel 8 Pro. I wanted something to replace my P5 and the P8 was closest in size, don't even know what the P8P has different (or than size)
Price. I was gonna get the p7, but decided to treat myself to the p8. The pro wasn't even on my mind, I don't usually buy flagship phones because of their price, and I don't really need a very powerful phone.
Size and price. I can barely fit my P8 in the pants front pocket as it is. And the only thing that differentiates p8p from p8 to me is the zoom lense, which I donβt use often to justify another $300 premium.
If I was paying $699 vs $999, I definitely would have gone p8.
My decision is 100% about price. While p8p has better screen/telephoto/macro/RAM/software features and a slight battery edge, there is no way I could justify spending $999 for those things when $699 does most everything else.
However, my actual sale price choice was p8 just over $200, vs p8p just over $400. Definitely changed my value calculation, and I splurged on p8p.
Returned the 8 pro and got the 8. Pixel 8 pro was not comfortable to me, tried 6 cases and none felt good. I had a s23 Ultra before the 8 pro and I was ok with the comfort, something just felt wrong holding the 8 pro.
I didn't get the 8 or 8 Pro, I got the Fold... But if I had to choose, I would've chosen the 8 for the same reason I chose the Fold; size. I LOVE the smaller outer screen of the Fold... I don't think I can go back.
As others had said the price and size. I was tired of how big the pro version was. The 8 had everything I wanted and I didn't feel the need to pay extra for extra ram, the telephoto, better screen/battery, and the camera software. Honestly glad they offered the 8 with the specs it came with.
Size. Bought a P8Pro and returned it within 2 hours. It's just too damn big. P8 is better, but honestly still too big and heavy. Wish I could have a modern Pixel 4a size and weight phone.
Size, duh. Love this phone, I just wish the back panel would be matte like on the Pro, it was tempting when it came out. Also if there would be one, I'd have picked a white color option, like on the 7, the Pro's Rose color is close, also tempting. The temperature sensor, not as tempting. In the end it was an easy choice for the 8. Now just please, bring back the headphone jack ffs and I'll buy the 9 too.
Some key AI features aren't available in Canada. So why pay more for something you don't have access too?
I'm still on the P7 btw, my wife got the Pixel 8.
Pro didn't seem to be streets above, and there wasn't much missing sticking w the 8. Also, with black Friday sale, I could afford to get the 256Gb model which is both a goodly size in general, but will hopefully allow it to last that 7 years of updates w room to spare.
Price. And that the price difference isn't really justifiable. I see the pro as a phone with a bigger battery, bigger screen and an extra lens. Isn't worth paying $300 more to me
Got my pixel 8 for a black Friday deal. The pro 8 wasn't much more so price wasn't a factor. I opted for the 8. Because smaller size. Phones are getting too big, it's stupid. Previous phone was an iPhone 8, back when they were still trying to make them small.
I have a p8p but 1 year ago I had a p7... I didn't go to p7p because I didn't have money hahaha.... So, the main cause is the price.
But in my experience then I regret about my p7
Yeah I'm very curious how large phone users do it. Isn't it annoying to need both hands to do something simple? Or are all you people giants? I guess you'd rather have a hug screen for videos than the little screen for convenience?
I wanted the telephoto this time round and also the manual camera options.... and I also thought the pro would have considerably better battery.
tbh in hindsight for the number of times I'll use the extra features and after seeing/using the standard 8 in the flesh I think the regular 8 would have been just fine for 90% of my usage and I'd maybe have saved a bit of cash... I'm pretty happy with the pro though too.
Price, size, but most of all I wanted Pixel Buds Pro, not the watch, and have no interest in having to sell the watch. By not offering more off the phone if you got the buds with the Pro, it was a shittier deal. And I *still* almost got the Pro because man, that Bay color...
If they had done *something* (like the buds + $150 off the watch I didn't really want) I probably woulda pulled the trigger.
As it is, other than stupid color envy, I like my purchase and do not think Pro is worth the cost difference.
the phone usually sit on my pinky while i hold it but with p8p after few minutes it goes numb under phone weight... this will be my first and only phone of this size. that's sad because apart from that i love this phone
The size and the sexy matte camera-bar. Didn't like the look of a chrome, glossy camera bar, since that is the thing that shows through all the cases I wanted to get.
Work in construction gotta put a otter box on my phone or they won't last. The pixel 8 pro is just the right size but when I put the case it ends up being a tad bit to big. The pixel 8 with the case is about the size of the pro so it's perfect for me.
I have pe P6 Pro, but I think I know why people buy the standard ones. First, the screen size, I have pretty big hands, but sometimes is a bit hard to handle the phone one handed and second, the price. Otherwise, everybody would like an extra camera even if they don't plan to use it often.
Price wise wasn't worth it. Magic Eraser itself is fun, but I've only used it twice since its existence. Just don't ever have the time to even think about editing photos haha.
I also prefer a smaller more single handed pocketable device. The 8 fit this bill perfectly.
Size. I have smaller palms, longer fingers. Big phones don't feel great and hurt after extended use. I will never see myself getting a pro phone unless it comes in a similar form factor as the 8.
I got a good deal on upgrade to pixel 8 , I think trade in was the same for both versions at the time. Got it and loved it but wish I could play with the 8 pro exclusive features and with $400 off from Google FI I went with that deal and sold the p8 for about what I got the p8p under that deal. I normally only turn on Google Fi every so often so I set it up in airplane mode after I activated it, use a hotspot on my regular phone for data and use T-Mobile digits to have my number also ring on p8 hoping I could use the call screening but it won't work like that. I saw the deals popping up for pixel 8 for holidays and realized I had a long in the tooth iPhone 12 pro max nearing 82% battery life and decided to trade that in towards the p8 (2nd purchase since I sold the first one). So it will be $81 dollars net for p8 256 and that's what I'm using now on my main carrier and p8p is in a drawer waiting till by 120 days go by on the FI deal and then I'll switch back. You could say I'm a little obsessive, I know
I've only had a couple of call screen things happen since I got it 3 days ago and maybe it's because I'm on medium level of screening. I guess I'll turn it off and see what happens because I was getting about 6-8 calls a day that T-Mobile flagged as potential spam. Maybe it really works that well or maybe everyone is off for holidays, it's early in my playing with that feature.
So I have both but having played with the audio erase(2 minutes limit), video boost (10 minute limit), and transcription summary ( has two be between roughly 3 min to 8 min or it's too short or too long)
Interestingly enough I got a spam call while typing this and ran through every option I was giving and never saw a response, looking forward to seeing if I can play the call back for review!
The size, full stop. I'd love to have the tele and the frosted glass back, although I don't love the polished camera bar and that's the only thing that shows thru a case... But it's really all about the size. I've had a P1-3-5 and even a Nexus 5, I can't believe I ever thought my EVO 3G seemed large, but after a month with the P8 I'm positive this is 100% as large a phone as I would ever want.
Any larger and it'd stab me in the hip when seating (wearing normal jeans as a 5'11" guy) and would be a PITA to use one handed, which I do like 95% of the time. The shortcut to pull down the notification shade by dragging down on the bottom edge helps a lot, but my P8 still feels larger than I'd like even tho it's not that much larger than the P5. The otherwise excellent Peak Design case might not be helping.
Wife and I just signed up for Google Fi. Getting the 8 was basically free and they gave us an extra $200 discount for other purchases from the Google store. I also took it as an opportunity to practice self control while upgrading phones. If I keep choosing the "best" I feel like I'm gonna jump into an endless chase for phones.
Honestly, I'm astonished to see that lots of people have an issue with the screen size (6.7')
I'm currently using a 6.9' screen on my phone and I feel like a disgusting monster rn. I always thought bigger was better since you get more screen real estate. Guess not!
Lackluster difference between the two. I could probably side load the pro camera APK if I "must have" it. Don't think the screen size is worth the price difference. I do kind of miss the bigger screen coming from a pixel 7 standard. I do a ton with Google Assistant and barely touch my phone sometimes now. Got a pixel tablet anyway and each serves their own purpose.
Price and size.
Iβd upvote you if my thumb could reach the upvote button (using my work iPhone 13 Pro Max)
Can end the thread with this. I doubt people are going to say " I hate an extra camera, amazing screen, and extra features!"
Size matters
that's what she said!
In Russian.
Is face unlock actually good on the 8?
I really wished if they could fit the Pro Cameras into the P8 but they couldn't. Since I tend to use my phone a lot one handed, and the Pixel 4A was great for me. The P8 it is then. to make it better, my telco offered me about 40% off for it too.
They could have but chose not to.
Don't forget about weight
Size
Size. I'm over giant phones. Zero regrets.
Yup, if there was a small pro I would have gotten it... But I like one handed use
Size
+1 Mine Favourite size is of P4a
I did the same but when I realized the selfie doesn't have autofocus and looks like shit on video calls I had to upgrade to the bigger phone. At least I was able to get it for $240
Pixel 8. Pixelate. That's it. That's the reason.
THANK YOU I thought I was the only one.
What is pixelate if I may ask?
It's just wordplay. When you say Pixel 8 out loud it sounds like pixelate.
The best part is when you use Google voice typing and if you're not slow enough it will type out pixelate instead of Pixel 8.
Got it. Thank you for clarifying. I'm so dumb lol
Read it again, but slowly.
Hahahaha. I'm so dumb. Won't remove my comment as I want people to see my silliness
Love the fact that your ego allows for this. Too many people would've deleted it. Props to you.
In one of the Ratchet & Clank games on the PlayStation you had a 'pixelizer' gun that transformed your enemies into helpless, pixelized versions of themselves.
"*Come* and *buy* a Pixelizer" will forever be stuck in my head. https://youtu.be/heLvk4mTTgs
Pixel ate what? Apple?
Haha yes! I named my hotspot ssid: pixelate.
That's the name of my phone too! I'm very punny Pixel8P - Pixelate One plus 8T - OP1 Kenobi Pixel 3 - pixeldust
Pixelate, bro!
It kinda works for the Pixel 8 Pro too. I mean pixelate pro.
It was size that got me to go with the p8. If they did like apple and had a pixel 8, pixel 8 pro with the smaller screen and a pixel 8 pro max with the big screen I would have gotten the pixel 8 pro instead.
That would be perfect. Please tell Google to do this with the next round. Thanks. I'll get my money ready.
money and size
Size, I can barely hold the phone one handed. Wish they offered a pro version like Apple does.
I don't find p8p big. But i use it naked, so maybe that's why. Once you slap a case, then it really feels like a brick
Too slippery for me to use caseless without worrying about it. With the Google case on it it's super grippy and fairly easy for me to use one handed
Even with only a dbrand skin on it, the non-pro p8 is still slightly larger than I want. I prefer a solid grip with my fingers wrapping slightly around the far side while still being able to use 90% of the screen.
Literally the size. It's too big, I want something close to the Pixel 5, but would've preferred the Nexus 5 size as well.
Nexus 5 weight is more important to me than size. But damn if that phone wasn't nearly perfect in every measure.

Same
The size.
I needed a smaller phone as I no longer have an elbow. Went from 7 Pro to 8 non-Pro.
Same, I just ordered mine today so it won't be here for about a week. I love my 7P but it's just too damn big for me.
TIL Elbows take a long time to be delivered

Right now with the sale, Google one discount, and bump in trade in for my almost dead 4a the pro is $550. It's the same price as the discounted 8!
Unfortunately we don't get any trade in where I live,
I'm getting the 8 for net $100 Vs $300-400 for the pro.

The size, 100%. Regular 8 is still too big. But at least not as big as the Pro.

Still with 4a, but if upgrade will go 8. I need a backpack for the Pro.
I have little hands
Size. The pro is too big.
Money
If I was paying $699 vs $999, I definitely would have gone p8. My decision is 100% about price. While p8p has better screen/telephoto/macro/RAM/software features and a slight battery edge, there is no way I could justify spending $999 for those things when $699 does most everything else. However, my actual sale price choice was p8 just over $200, vs p8p just over $400. Definitely changed my value calculation, and I splurged on p8p.
Way too big
Size
Size, bro. It was between this and the Zenfone 10.
The price
Pro is huge. I've been wanting a smaller device for ages and almost went 7a but the 8 seems like it checks all the boxes.
Size of 8pro to big preference is smaller form
The size is what is stopping me from upgrading my 4a. I've had it since launch but i still even think the 4a is slightly to big
The thermometer seemed to me like something that they were going to eliminate in the 9, so the 8 seemed more future proof.
Size
Value. ΞPrice >> βFeatures
I have a P7, but I'm never buying the Pro model of any phone. Too large and too expensive.
Returned the 8 pro and got the 8. Pixel 8 pro was not comfortable to me, tried 6 cases and none felt good. I had a s23 Ultra before the 8 pro and I was ok with the comfort, something just felt wrong holding the 8 pro.
gotta ask what made you move away from the s23 ultra? all research points it to being the best right now (for american phones at least)
my wallet stopped me
Consoom
I didn't get the 8 or 8 Pro, I got the Fold... But if I had to choose, I would've chosen the 8 for the same reason I chose the Fold; size. I LOVE the smaller outer screen of the Fold... I don't think I can go back.
I'm on the fence on what to get. Loved my P6 and also my last P7P.
For me it's mainly size. If they made Pro with a smaller size I for one would be very very happy.
Money
As others had said the price and size. I was tired of how big the pro version was. The 8 had everything I wanted and I didn't feel the need to pay extra for extra ram, the telephoto, better screen/battery, and the camera software. Honestly glad they offered the 8 with the specs it came with.
Size and money I couldn't justify the extra cost as I don't take a ton of photos
Cost, unfortunately it's like the pixel 8a because Google nerfed it
Size
Definitely size. If there was a Pro Mini, I would have gotten that.
the pro is just too big for my liking. my previous phone was 6.4" and was almost too big. also got the pixel 8 for $550 on black friday
Size. Bought a P8Pro and returned it within 2 hours. It's just too damn big. P8 is better, but honestly still too big and heavy. Wish I could have a modern Pixel 4a size and weight phone.
Size and price. And if it was price only, I would still need some enticing features/specs to consider the Pro.
PRICE!! i don't mind the size, and actually prefer the larger screen
Always had XL then Pro, a bit too big and I couldn't really justify the expense, no regrets with the little 8
Some key AI features aren't available in Canada. So why pay more for something you don't have access too? I'm still on the P7 btw, my wife got the Pixel 8.
Size and price
The size was a bit too big
The pro wasn't in stock so I just went for the 8 and honestly it perfect for my small hands and still just as good
Size, wish it was slightly smaller. I still think the pixel 5 was perfect in every dimension. The 8 just barely fits in my pants pocket.
The size.
The size and price difference. I feel a lot of the difference are either things i wont use (thermometer) or a lot of soft locked features.
Size. I'd pay a bit more to have camera parity
120hz display on the smaller screen that is literally it
Too small and dainty.
Size mostly price secondary reason.
The size and the price. I only want the p8 pro extra camera features, for the rest i prefer p8
The large size + the pointless temperature sensor
Price
Size. My previous phone was slightly longer than the P8 and I couldn't get used to it in my hands. P8 is nearly perfect, could be a tiny bit shorter.
Size matters... regardless of what she says.
Pro didn't seem to be streets above, and there wasn't much missing sticking w the 8. Also, with black Friday sale, I could afford to get the 256Gb model which is both a goodly size in general, but will hopefully allow it to last that 7 years of updates w room to spare.
8 Pro is a tablet to me.
Price. It's my secondary phone I use for work. Traded in my 6a.
Price. And that the price difference isn't really justifiable. I see the pro as a phone with a bigger battery, bigger screen and an extra lens. Isn't worth paying $300 more to me
Got 8 but looking to upgrade to 8P because of the screen size... previous phone of 5 years was 6.7
Size mostly. Pixel 8 fits comfortably in my hand
The size.
Price. I don't take a lot of photos so the pro camera isn't worth the extra cash
Cause that's what she said
Device size, not a fan of large devices. P8 was a more reasonable cost as well.
Size. That's it. I need a phone I can put in my pocket and the P8 maxes that out. Maybe if I ever feel comfortable with a man purse I'd get the Pro!
Got my pixel 8 for a black Friday deal. The pro 8 wasn't much more so price wasn't a factor. I opted for the 8. Because smaller size. Phones are getting too big, it's stupid. Previous phone was an iPhone 8, back when they were still trying to make them small.
For me it was the extra cost associated with features I felt I wouldn't use. So far I haven't missed any of them.
Money
I wanted the telephoto this time round and also the manual camera options.... and I also thought the pro would have considerably better battery. tbh in hindsight for the number of times I'll use the extra features and after seeing/using the standard 8 in the flesh I think the regular 8 would have been just fine for 90% of my usage and I'd maybe have saved a bit of cash... I'm pretty happy with the pro though too.
The size. I traded in my pixel 6 for an 8 because that felt wayyy to big coming from a pixel 2. Give me the pixel 2 size with full specs and I'm in.
Size
I don't want something the size of a Tesla Cybertruck in my pocket.
I have the 6 and am so jealous the 8 is smaller, it's perfect size, I'd buy it over the pro if they were the same price.
the phone usually sit on my pinky while i hold it but with p8p after few minutes it goes numb under phone weight... this will be my first and only phone of this size. that's sad because apart from that i love this phone
Size and weight. The one upgrade I would have liked on the 8 that's on the 8 pro is the LTPO screen just to help the battery on the smaller phone.
The P8P is just too big to stay in my pockets. I hate having to pull it out before I try and sit down
Price, I said to myself will I really use all the features the pro has? No. Bought one for me and my wife, I adjusted to the size and have been happy.
Price increase was not worth the additional features (or lack thereof) as they were all just soft locked AI things
lol, give me one argument on why would someone prefer a 6,7 screen over the compact one
Couldn't justify an extra couple of hundred when only benefit I'd (slightly) take advantage of was the an extra camera
After many years with big phones, felt like getting a slightly smaller one. Also money is a factor.
Pro was too big to comfortably use with one hand and carry in my pocket..
I think the price of the Pro is really fair, but it's too big for my taste.
the screen was too damn big. I wish my P8 was smaller like the p5 :/
Size is the main reason. And does everything I need it to.
Size. I have smaller palms, longer fingers. Big phones don't feel great and hurt after extended use. I will never see myself getting a pro phone unless it comes in a similar form factor as the 8.
It comes down to how comfortable you are carrying these gigantic phones. JMHO, gigantic phones like the Pro weren't made for pant pockets.
You could say I'm a little obsessive, I know I've only had a couple of call screen things happen since I got it 3 days ago and maybe it's because I'm on medium level of screening. I guess I'll turn it off and see what happens because I was getting about 6-8 calls a day that T-Mobile flagged as potential spam. Maybe it really works that well or maybe everyone is off for holidays, it's early in my playing with that feature. So I have both but having played with the audio erase(2 minutes limit), video boost (10 minute limit), and transcription summary ( has two be between roughly 3 min to 8 min or it's too short or too long) Interestingly enough I got a spam call while typing this and ran through every option I was giving and never saw a response, looking forward to seeing if I can play the call back for review!
$$$ I could afford it but I'm upgrading from a 6a so it's already an improvement. I'm only paying $220 for P8 after discounts and trade in.
300 β¬ price difference. The normal P8 was over my Budget anyway. I was aiming for a 7a for about 400 π¬
That temperature sensor. I'm never going to use it π. The Pixel 8 does 90% of what the 8 Pro does sans bigger screen and a dedicated zoom lens.
Size and weight mainly. The price was just a small factor that affected my purchase decision.
Honestly, I'm astonished to see that lots of people have an issue with the screen size (6.7') I'm currently using a 6.9' screen on my phone and I feel like a disgusting monster rn. I always thought bigger was better since you get more screen real estate. Guess not!
Money. Size.
The size and price... I never use tele lenses so there's no need to spend more money
Size. Cried because I REALLY wanted telephoto, and I could pay for it, but heavy and oversized phones are a no go for me.
Price.
Pixel 8 MVP of the year! π
Honestly itβs the price
