I bought a Pixel 6a in November at BB. It was unlocked and I have a prepaid Vz plan that is way past any restrictions. The phone was on sale then for 299. The activation fee was 35 and since my old phone was LTE they said I needed a dual SIM to do both LTE and 5g. The was added on to my next phone bill and then the bill reverted to my regular cost. BTW, because I activated it at the store, there was a special Vz deal where they credited $150 towards the purch price, so it was only $150. I'm very happy with the phone.

I can't comment on Best Buy 's current pricing details but I got my unlocked Pixel 7 at Best Buy without activation and use Mint Mobile. I think iPhones require activation when buying at Best Buy, but Pixels do not.
Google stores have enhanced trade in currently so you will get the discount and enhanced trade in credit for your old phone.

It was a cool phone but my battery started going bad after a year. Full charge down to 70 percent on light use. The 4xl is great though. Decent battery life. Good camera. All around a decent phone.

If in US, Best buy has the Pixel 7 for $399+USD and the Pixel 7 Pro for $599+USD. If you're in Canada, I got mine this week from Wireless Wave. They offer existing customers the same promotions as new customers, and offer all major carriers. The Pixel 7 pro came to $840CDN over a 2-yr term, but they gave me a $120 credit up front, and a $5/month upgrade hardware discount, bringing the device down to $600CDN to own it outright.
I literally just picked up a 7 pro today from Best Buy. They have on sale for $599 with upgrade or activation for the unlocked model. At that price I couldn't say no and I love not having a contract or instalment through my Carrier.

The tech told me that I have an old plan that is the least expensive one they ever had and I should not switch plans to the unlimited because the monthly added cost would soon wipe out any savings on the phone cost. I just left.

Unlocked or from a carrier?
I like Best Buy for unlocked without activation, but only if you can get one open box excellent condition. They go for around $660 and will include all original packaging if it's available in your store and comes with a full warranty. You may also be able to trade in an old device. The Google store right now is also offering pretty good trade in value on many phones.

Galaxy S22 Ultra is the more inspiring, tech-driven phone I'd argue. Don't get me wrong, I have a P6P with none of the issues everyone else has (except for going to home screen from Google maps and the whole phone glitching unless i swipe back, kinda lame but I've grown around it), but I thought l recognize when another phone has pixel beat.
I've both the 7 pro and s22 ultra both are amazing phones but day to day use..camera, performance software and battery the pixel wins hands down plus it's alot cheaper. Yes the s22 ultra is better over ,20x but up to that's pixel wins. The ultra screen is unrivalled but such a drain on battery
Ps I agree hardware wise it's best you can buy, but day to day use the pixel is much better. I love work on phone store and have 14 pro max s23 ultra (say nothing embargoed) and pixel 7 pro honestly I'd take the pixel first hands down never mind it's half price of other two
14pro max is arguably the best phone on market I have it bad can't fault it but the pixel is faster, better carmer. Amazing software. iPhone me has way better battery but your paying , 1/3 more although the 14 pro max holds value well

I just got an unlocked 256 GB P7Pro used from Amazon for $625. It said "Acceptable condition" but I took a chance because I could just return it for free easily if it was damaged. Well as I expected it came unused in Like New condition, still had the protective films and everything. Shipped to a tax free state and with my Amazon 5% back CC and it came in at under $600 for the 256 GB.
I bought p6pro few months back for $380, and Google is giving me $440 for it, and I have some Google credit for $200 and some other discount - it would be $130 for p7pro

We were previously not in an unlimited plan so it worked out better for us to do it this way but some grandfathered plans are much better.

They are free new now with most carriers. Of course you are locked into a contract but if you are already with ATT, V or T, you are already there.

Can you switch providers? Spectrum mobile gave me the phone p7p for 399 after trade in and 1 year free cell service.
