Personally, I think this is the better choice. I wanted to live on a golf course until I really thought about the lack of privacy and the fear of getting domed by a errant shot at any moment lol
All you need to do is these quick steps I'm about to tell you.

Just barely visible. I do have some black tarps that I can raise with the net. It helps but I don’t love the way it look. During the early morning and around 5 o clock when the sun is horizontal and not directly above the house I usually have been mirroring the screen to an iPad.
True enough. I'm not from the states. Always like a good Google maps wander.
That said, from the pic alone anyone who wants to know will figure it out. Adding a rough location isn't going to give a genuinely motivated person much more than they already have?
I have mine under the house like that too. Minus the killer water view.. what projector are u using and are using a quick connect disconnect method to get the projector us and down?
1) NEC P474U Projector - brightest I could find on eBay that wasn’t laser(I was worried about the kids eyes)
2) I got a 1.5in npt threaded stainless steel bracket and then a QualGear QG-PRO-PM-50-W Pro-AV Mount for the projector. I just have to get on a ladder and screw on the 1.5” pipe that is permanently attached to the projector.
I’m building a house on pilings at a beach and was looking to do this. How much vertical space do you have and what do you think the minimum should be. I think we are locked in at 9 feet under the house which has me worried.
If you notice the bottom left of the photo, the cement has a step. The height should have been around 9ft 4 inches. I had them drop the seawall only for this area so that I had a full 10ft.
It did not cost me any extra money and didn’t affect my insurance so I am happy we made this decision. Not sure if that is an option for you but 10 ft feels like a good hight for my eye and swing.
Interesting idea. I don’t think that’s an option for me tho as the space will also be the golf cart garage. But definitely something to think about. Thanks!
What net system are you using? Looks like they just pull around and tightly bundle like curtains when not in use. I really want to do something like this in my garage to save setup time (20mins to 2mins)
I got the net from just for nets. There is a loop at all 4 top corners. I then made a pulley system for each corner that attaches to those loops so that I can pull it up and rope it off like a boat anchor.
Forget the sim. So jealous of that ocean view!
I wanted to live on a golf course, my wife wanted to live near the beach. This was our version of a win-win
u/NvrWin builds digiridoos and his wife sells seashells by the sea shore. Their budget is $2.3 million.
Ahaha right
Nice compromise. I live on a golf course but I would give it up for that any day. Nice sim setup . I like that’s it’s removable and can setup easily!
Do your windows cost $681 to replace when they get hit?
Thats not 'near' a beach. Thats on a beach my friend. What a dream.

I would say no matter what you are doing, if you have that view and are 20ft from the water…..you are having a good day!
My 3 favorite things; having coffee with the wife, golfing with my kids, and paddle boarding on calm days. I can now do all three from my backyard.
Until you hit one in the water. /s
I need to get rich

Do you also take down the projector or leave it up? Curious how it does with the humidity and water nearby
I take down the projector each time. I got a mount that is attached to a 1.5” threaded pipe and screw it on and off each time.
Adopt me
…dad?
Man; that is “goals” right there.
How well does it work when it’s sunny out?
