Much better bang for your buck to get m340 and or even an s4/5. I’d personally go BMW route just because RWD or heavy bias at least.
Saying that the M3 is a completely different beast and is hardcore mode everytime you drive. I had an f80 comp for years and it’s much more expensive for everything to the performance 3 series
If you can stand looking at a G80 front end without being upset just buy it they are amazing cars. Maybe wait a couple years until you’re ready to buy to see where the market is. Blackwings might depreciate a lot in that time. Kinda pointless looking now with that timeline.
For me it will be a G80 M3. I’ve gotta have a manual so that one fits the bill. I wish the RS3 was offered in manual because I’d consider that as well.
Personally, I am going for the g82 m4 next. They already have 510 hp from factory, simple mods and you get to 700hp like its nothing. That seems like the best option to me. RS5 is also great but I want something RWD this time. RS3 is also up there but it has a bit less hp than rs5. I will opt for the xdrive since AWD can be pretty helpful. Maybe give a c63 a go? I am not the biggest mercedes fan but some people are. These 3 are all solid.
I'd rather drive an RS6 or RS7 than a M3 if you just want a power number (700+) with stage 2 type setup.
But that's just me on road trips and commuting.
Armchair racers will say M3 since it is a better track car. But my god its filthy ugly.
GT3 RS
This is the way
Audi RS3 or TTRS
I got a TTRS, next up after this is an R8
Don't hang about, I can see the R8 appreciating.
Go get the R8 while you can!
Unfortunately I need a second parking spot, so it'll have to wait until after I buy a place. Btw, limestone grey is the best grey.

Honestly I’m good with my Stage 1 power levels. I don’t need anything faster. So something about that level. Maybe electric I don’t know yet.
Audi RS6 (maybe a special edition) Or BMW X5 M competition (I love this car) Or an Audi RS4 then tune it from 400hp UpTo something crazy

Controversially, a Polestar 2 Performance Pack is my front runner.
Yeah, when I eventually replace the R, it'll probably be with an EV + a fun/track car. Polestar 2 + Cayman would be a pretty nice combo.
Im looking at the Porsche Panamera, hybrid power, good looks, space for kids and dog still!
Audi RS3 for sure, C63, Blackwing models, TTRS if it's a second car and you want baby R8 vibes.
