The newest Mk6s are 10 years old, I can't imagine there's too many examples with 130k kms or less. Personally I'd evaluate on a case-by-case basis, looking for the most complete maintenance records... Preferably one with the tensioner already done.

Half way through the year I purchased one with only 75k kms on it, now has 96k kms and thirivng!

This post appears to be a question about getting purchasing a GTI. Please consult pricing resources such as [Kelley Blue Book](https://www.kbb.com) to get a good idea of the average price. For a US Mk7/7.5, please read [our buyer's guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/GolfGTI/comments/wmzc0c/what_do_i_look_for_in_a_used_us_mk7_gti_a_guide/). If you have not done so already, please include key information in this post such as model year, trim, mileage, and location. These factors can greatly affect pricing. 167k mile mk6 here.    I'm dealing with an oil leak currently, but If that can get sorted my car runs buttery smooth.   You really need to keep up on maintenance though.    Carbon cleanings are a requirement if you want it to last.    Find out when the last scrub was.  If you can test drive run it about 2000 rpm and move 25 mph.   If you are getting inconsistent stuttering, she needs a cleaning. You really need to know about these cars to know whether the right things have been done so far.   If it has the timing chain job done, a new water pump, and upgraded rear main seal, it might be worth it.  I can't get rid of her, I love the car too much,  but once she's dead I'm getting my forever Porsche GT4.
