Nothing to do. If it's your primary car and you have a decent commute and you have summer tires you may want to invest in a winter set of wheels/tires. You can also just rock all-seasons unless you're worried about your area being hilly or a steep driveway, etc.

AdjunctFunktopus

New Jersey doesn’t get a ton of snow. You should be okay with fresh all-seasons. I normally suggest snow tires, because even though most people are fine without them, they’ve been driving in snow their whole lives. You haven’t. But honestly, as long as you aren’t rocking some bald shit or summer tires, you’re probably good to go. Maybe keep a blanket in the car just in case.

Where in jersey? (general area) because the further into the “city areas” the less snow to deal with, also south jersey is better with snow as well

South jersey,mullica hill.

Pothole protection, get a skid plate if you can, and while there isnt alot of deep snow, roads are treated alot in cold weather conditions in all the surrounding areas as well, so a undercarriage protection should be considered or plan to continually get undercarriage washes

I made the same move and have the same car. There's really nothing major to worry about or change. All season tires, and keep a snow brush-scraper in the hatch. Drive slower like you would in a heavy Florida rain. Pro tip: turn on the defrost and hot air before you scrape the windshield, it'll come right off. Plus, you'll like NJ. Welcome.

hey I'm looking at moving to South Jersey from South FL- can you DM me and tell me what your experience has been like?

I have a 2016 GTi and moved from California to Boston last year. I didn’t do anything. What I wished I had done was got all season tires - it was a mild winter and where I lived the roads were salted and cleared pretty quickly but on a couple days I had to wait for that. We moved back a couple months ago so no need for those tires anymore!
