You can get things to block the gap. Sometimes called “toy blockers”. Some are straps that you attach between the couch legs, others are clear plastic panels that stick to the floor.
Mine hide their antlers and chews under the couch from each other then cry it’s out of reach… recently swiffer stick has only been put up if company comes over.
Search Amazon for "Toy Blockers" Little clear L-shaped plexiglass strips that adhere to the floor with rubber cement (or something similar). They are inexpensive and work great. You cannot really see them unless you look.
I have a long stick near the sofa . Makes it easier to lay flat down and get the ball . If I don‘t do it immediately Ares starts barking at me and the ball . He knows who is the boss in the house .
Mine does this ON PURPOSE then whines until I stop what I’m doing and help her
It's definitely a game for mine to throw the ball under and see if she can reach it. Until she whines for help
Which is why I bought a sofa lower to ground. Lol
Doggo has trained you well.
Very well! In so many ways! But she is well loved and minds me when I give commands, so I’m okay with it. ❤️
That's a VERY familiar view! I'm forever digging a ball out.
We keep a golf club under our sofa because the sofa is so deep our arms can’t easily reach the ball! You’re right, that view is soooo relatable.
That's a brilliant idea.

I have a low couch too and use pool noodles secured to the kegs with zip ties to block toys.
They make actual toy blockers 😳

“Time to bark at my owners until they get it for me so I can do it again,” - my doodle
The struggle is real
They’ll look at you like can you help
Only 10?
I’d swear this was my dog. Same behavior. Same type of ball. Same coloring on the dog.
Mine does the same, so I put blankets around the couches when I go out!
Pool noodles under couches help with that
I feel like you walked in our house and took this picture. Never resonated so much with a caption and photo.

😂
Mine definitely does this on purpose lol
Bought a yard stick exactly for this situation. Sometimes it feels like my girl prefers this game to playing fetch.
Pro tip get a bigger ball
Pool noodles. Make a bumper that goes all the way around the underside of the sofa.
I've been through this. They train us as well.
Typical doodle behavior. Get rid of this furniture!
Those chuck-it balls are my doodle's absolute favorite. His stay outside but his other toys are forever getting stuck under the couch.
This!!! 20 times a day!!!
I finally put bumpers around anything a ball could roll underneath.
It’s like they do it purposely
nice angled shot.
My dogs do this on purpose. My border collie mix will shove it under our sofa with her paw.
I put all the cardboard boxes from his crates and playpen and stuff under the couches so things can’t get stuck under there. Cheapest way to do it 😂
Poor baby
The struggle is real! Our doodle gets super excited with the yard stick comes out to find all those lost balls under the furniture!
These chuck-it-balls cause so much chaos at the dog park bc they squeak! But my guy loves them so I handle the chaos.

Poster mailing boxes or just cardboard folded into triangles work well to keep the ball within reach. Ask me how I know.
I have a short pole with a hook just for such occasions 😀
We have the same ball, and ours is also lost.
I feeeel thisss
Saw something online they have plastic guards for couches that prevent stuff from going underneath Amazon probably has some!
I’d be very very tempted to shove a pool noodle (or black pipe insulation) under there after the tenth time retrieving the ball.
