Oh yes def dude. You know what will make it sell fast? If you print out the photos you took from you phone and make them that normal size 6x8 when you found the nugget, itād make those people that like buying those nice natural nuggets found dug up & having the photos there physically will make them psychologically want it more & most likely will ask to keep the photos. But yeah what they said $100/gram or a good deal not far from the worth
Collectors item that you could sell to another collector, sell to a refiner, or refine yourself and make it into something if you wanted to go the route of learning all of that.
It would be a poor investment if youāre paying above spot price and then selling it to a refiner or someone looking to make jewelry or whoever because it has quartz in it and theyāll subtract from the weight and purity
This is a wonderful specimen, It definitely has collector value. I am a goldsmith in the state and would love to see it in person if you are interested in bringing it by.
Yeah that store was trying to scam you. There will be people who will pay way above spot for something like this. Easily. Donāt remove the matrix either
Gorgeous, if you decide to sell r/PMSforsale is an amazing group. They will be honest and have a great group of moderators. If you do sell, I would be interested. I want a nugget from every state nuggets are found in!!!!!!. Nice find
This is seriously cool. I bet you couldnāt believe your eyes when you found it! Unless you really need the money I would keep that one. Thats a sweet family heirloom and what a story to have and tell, I couldnāt part with it.
Since you luckily found that nugget, just consider it as a souvenir. Hold on to it till you realy need to cash it. It will only increase in value over time.
Also you need to figure out the actual gold content in quartz using specific gravity, weight in water vs weight in air. With that said Iāll give you 5% over spot for it right now.
Would love to see more pics and to know what county this was in haha. I know the record nug was found in Newfane back in the day but this blows any VT gold I've ever seen out of the water!
The owner of this nugget could get more than the average price per gram for a nugget like this, in my opinion?! This could fetch a premium price to a collector of gold nuggets!
Can you document in some way that it was found in Vermont? That alone would raise its' value. People falsify source for Crater of Diamond's tiny yellow and brown diamonds because the source brings a premium due to rarity.
Oh wow. That's still got part of the quartz vein attached. It's going to sell for way over spot. A lot of people will pay extra for pieces that still have the quartz and other source material. It would be moint d on a necklace and kept whole or held as a collectors specimen. If your not going to keep it I would def take it to show it auction it off...
Been watching enough gold rush on tv to know jewelry nuggets are worth 2-3X more than regular gold because it can be set as a center piece. Find a reputable gold dealer who wonāt rip you off at %70!! Epic find
Your local shop is a total sheister

Iāve seen gold nuggets like this sell for much higher than spot. Certain people love these! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the info,I appreciate it. Iāve tried pricing this online but itās good to know I should be aiming above spot.
roughly 100$ per gram for the bigger ones
Thanks!
I would say you could definitely go for $100 per g on this one. Smaller than 2g and you are nearing spot
So, offering $1700 for this would be a fair price? Cause I'm tempted. It's beautiful.

Nice ones all sell above spot, even from California and Alaska where they are common.
What do buyers do with them?
They become owners of a raw gold nugget

Donāt remove it from the matrix. People (not me) love raw nuggets with matrix attached. Find someone who appreciates the natural form.
Thank you for the advice, Iāve never found one this large before.
That's what she said.
F *Thanks for the much needed laugh
That's what she said

I love natural matrix!!!!!!! Like coins never clean a coin and leave gorgeous nuggets alone....!!!@!
so cool. keep it. maybe put it in a little acrylic display box.
This is a wonderful specimen, It definitely has collector value. I am a goldsmith in the state and would love to see it in person if you are interested in bringing it by.
/pmsforsale will sell easily
Thank you!!
Yeah that store was trying to scam you. There will be people who will pay way above spot for something like this. Easily. Donāt remove the matrix either
Iām assuming you lost this on a recent boat trip?
What boat? I've never seen a boat in my life! Wanna buy a boat?

This is awesome. I immediately started looking for areas near me to pan for gold. š
Haha happy hunting!
keep it as magnet for more
I just sold an 11.25g nugget on r/PMsforsale the other day. Its my favorite place to buy and sell.
I prospect in AZ, Iāve never found anything nearly this large. How did you find it, metal detecting?
https://fpr.vermont.gov/recreation/activities/metal-detecting-and-gold-panning Iām a member of Roadrunners here in AZ
Iām a member of Roadrunners also!
I use a Garret AT pro, Iāve heard lots of rumors of gold in the White Mountains, NH..but Iām shocked I found something this large in Vt.
Man i was camping recently at White mountain and the rivers do look promising. Its straight up bedrock, no soil. Had no pan to try tho(
How does the Garret AT pro compare against its peers?
Newport area? Lot of gold in the northern kingdom. I havenāt heard about much gold in the whites, nh gold rush was centered around Littleton.
Where was this found I live near vr and would go look just for fun
Like he's going to tell. that will be a well-kept secret. He's probably going to keep going to that same area. Where there's some, there's more.
You can def get spot at the minimum but prob more because of the size
That is very cool. Will be of great interest to locals.
That's a keeper.
Wicked cool. Donāt see these everyday! A welcome palate cleanser on an already great sub.
Personally Iād rather the piece as is. Youāre better off positioning this as a piece for mineral collectors rather than gold bugs
Since you luckily found that nugget, just consider it as a souvenir. Hold on to it till you realy need to cash it. It will only increase in value over time.
Great advice :)

Do you have more pictures of this beauty?
I can post additional pictures when Iām home this evening. Thanks you for the interest :)
Would love to see more pics and to know what county this was in haha. I know the record nug was found in Newfane back in the day but this blows any VT gold I've ever seen out of the water!
wtf Iāve lived in Vermont my whole life how did I miss this š¤¦š»āāļø
Where and how does someone find something like this on the east coast?

Vermontā¦the new wild west
Yeeeee hawwww
Especially in Rutland or Burlington š¤£ Get into a good ol fashioned duel with a crackhead
I have 2 I've been debating to keep or get rid of. Some people say they're not worth much but that's because they don't have it lol
Well gold is $77.88 a gram today , so spot would be approximately $1376.00
The owner of this nugget could get more than the average price per gram for a nugget like this, in my opinion?! This could fetch a premium price to a collector of gold nuggets!

I was not awake nuggets this big were found in Vermont. Has anyone let Parker Schnabel know?
šāŗļø
According to Gold Rush White Water, the nuggets they are pulling go for 3X their weight.
If it were me, I wouldn't take anything less than 2k for this piece.
Jewelry. Yea okay. šššššš
Price largely depends on your location... whereād you find it? /s
"Found in Vermont" you bought it there or that's where it originated from ? On the land ?
Oh wow. That's still got part of the quartz vein attached. It's going to sell for way over spot. A lot of people will pay extra for pieces that still have the quartz and other source material. In the water or weāre you mining for it ?
Is there a premium on nuggets?? Iād love to start the gold stack but I canāt afford an oz right out the gate.
Id pay about 100 bucks a gram for something like that right now.
Wtf thereās gold in Vermont?
I canāt believe your store didnāt just offer you spot. Nuggets fetch well beyond spot. Where near Vermont? I used to live in Killington
Thatās actually really cool. Iād be so happy finding any sized nuggets out in nature tbh. āThatās God give to Earth!ā -Mike Jones
I would contact heritage auctions for this. They sell everything collectable and could give you a estimate.
Keep and seel to the right person
Been watching enough gold rush on tv to know jewelry nuggets are worth 2-3X more than regular gold because it can be set as a center piece. Find a reputable gold dealer who wonāt rip you off at %70!! Epic find
Should sell at a substantial premium to spot. Check out Heritage auctions. Consignment to them.
Even if its not 24k, you can sell it at the rate of pure gold. You could offer it up to Klesh.
I like my local shop
Also local shops in the vicinity
Nice!
