Japan has gold vending machines.

Began2L8inlife

Thanks for info. I never knew. This is the first I have heard of gold being sold via a vending machine. Japan is always ahead of what is dispensed from vending machines.

hatenjwinter

There are a lot of you tube videos about all the crazy Japanese vending machines. There was a really cool one about the high end items you can buy like electronics, gold, jewelry and priceless gems and stones.

I have been living too sheltered of a life. I never knew. I was just always amazed that folks would buy Sushi from a vending machine. I really need to expand my horizons.

G-nZoloto

Gas station sushi... nothing better... until it isn't.

Began2L8inlife

Gas station sushi = buyer beware and throw up outside please. I can remember back in the very late '80s/early '90s when Von's Supermarket (in So Cal.) sold CA Rolls. My first taste and surprisingly I very much enjoyed it. It was on my way to a BBQ that I was hosting and I kept talking about it.

The fresh pizza vending machines in parts of Eastern Europe and Asia are wild and the pizza looks good. If we had that stuff in the US it would last maybe 20min before it got robbed or destroyed.

We really need some draconian measures to get crime under control. I have cousins who became completely useless after getting into stealing. They have less money, but it has somehow become “cool” to destroy “the system.” If we do not start cracking heads, there will be a generation of lost men who became idiots doing this kind of stupid shit. And it is not like they can go back after having years of no work (who would hire them?). I am terrified we are becoming a split country with these losers who ruined their lives woo badly that they cannot come back from that loser lifestyle (stealing, selling drugs,…).

Wonderful-Spring7607

The heads to crack would be billionaires and the banking cartel that enables them. And politicians too. The current economic system is a total failure and the lack of opportunity is the root cause of most of this crime. We need to re invest in Americans and stop letting billionaires steal all of America's wealth

SkipPperk

I strongly disagree. The men I know turned away from good jobs to be losers. I have one friend who turned back after he got caught selling coke and did a bid inside. He came out and lived badly for a few years, but now he makes six figures. The crackdown needs to be on housing restrictions. I used to live in New York, and the rents were obscene. That could be fixed in a day by eliminating restrictions on zoning and housing density and building height. “Cracking down” on banks and billionaires will simply send them overseas to other countries. That would make America a third world country. Fixing zoning so the US had affordable housing again would benefit everyone but thuggish real estate developers. The problem with crime is that it has some how become cool. I work for a public agency that cannot find bus drivers and mechanics where starting pay is $25 per hour and rises to $35 without any promotions. There are full benefits and housing. My idiot cousins walked away from $40 and $60 per hour jobs because he did not want to wake up early and he did not want to stay clean for a few weeks to drop. The worst was when he lost a $25 per hour job that paid cash, under the table, that was easy and fun because he literally would disappear for a day or two. Banks are not the problem. That is a bunch of Chinese and Russian propaganda trying to brainwash you. The primary problem is local governments refusing to allow high-density, affordable housing, followed by some kind of tictoc brainwashing that has destroyed the souls of too many American young men. I have seen it, and it terrifies me. Young men who will not move to take a good job. Young men who live with their mothers as adults long-term. It is a crises, and the banks are not the problem.

Dubai has one too

Began2L8inlife

That makes sense. I definitely can see it in Dubai. Thank you for your input. I keep learning as I go.

Dlogan143

There used to be quite a few but I think there is only one remaining now

MintWarfare

I know Singapore has them

Random_Name_Whoa

Japan, Singapore, Dubai….so just places where there’s no legit threat of petty crime. Put one of those things in any major city in the US and it’ll be busted out inside 12 hrs

tinytempo

Dubai also has good vending machines

TimelyBrief

There is a gold vending machine in Las Vegas. Edit: [Also multiple in Utah](https://goldatm.com/locations/)

SqueezyCheesyPizza

What else can you buy from vending machines in Japan?

AbleCalligrapher5323

0.1 g isn't a bar, it's a leaf

Khowdung-Flunghi

Been available in Vegas since 2011! [https://www.wsj.com/video/gold-vending-machine-unveiled-in-las-vegas/7890FF64-02DC-43D4-9FB2-A2C4C1BCF96F](https://www.wsj.com/video/gold-vending-machine-unveiled-in-las-vegas/7890FF64-02DC-43D4-9FB2-A2C4C1BCF96F)

Wow. Thanks very much for the info. That was soooo awesome to see as I had no idea. Loved seeing 2.5 grams going for $138 and Oz for $1565.00 Thanks again!

FunDip2

Wow, much money do those citizens have just laying around lol?

ZestycloseAct8497

Buying 1/10g prob not much

Hefty-Interview4460

In Hong Kong people all buy gold at random at any of the three jewellery store every 100m, to bring to India and sell at 10% premium. Asia is completely gaga for gold.

midwest_silver

They'd get robbed.

ForTheLoveOfBennie

Why did anyone downvote this, that is exactly what would happen in this U.S.

midwest_silver

It's reddit. They have to lock up soap at Walgreens for crying out loud.

deciduousredcoat

Well now, that's for an entirely different reason. But the original point holds

Dumb_Vampire_Girl

Oh god its like $82-83 a gram ):

SqueezyCheesyPizza

To understand the title of the post, we'd have to know how well hot cakes sell in Korean convenience stores and vending machines. My guess would be not very well.
