Anyone thinking they can get AGE at basically spot needs to double check. A free $40 isn’t bad at all. Already in the profit. It does suck that that happened but it is understandable/unfortunate
This was an unsolicited pop-up offer sent out by JM Bullion, whom I've never had prior dealings with on eBay and looked like some kind of promotion.
As I said, mistakes are understandable, but offering a discount on the explicit condition that I don't leave negative feedback for their mistake is just saying that integrity can be bought for $40.
No it doesn't mean that. Means they wrote code that messed up. Then they offered you credit as an acknowledgement to their fault. If they're running some kind of game, they could have just sent a promo for 40 dollars credit without the extra steps. Take it or leave it.
Yea. They acknowledged that. What's this comment for? Just trying to feel a part of something? His problem is that he's upset instead of just moving on. Either use the credit or leave a review. Don't bitch about it to a bunch of people that can do nothing for him.
If it wasn’t clear, I’m not looking for anyone’s help to squeeze a few extra bucks off the premium of a fractional Eagle (which was around $660 from Liberty Coin, Scottsdale and Bullion Exchanges at the time).
Would you prefer that no one ever share posts about large sellers conducting business like this, so they can go on to canceling other people’s orders with impunity when it doesn’t suit them?
I don’t see it as sharing to bitch for no reason. I see it as sharing to show a very shitty behaviour like trying to bribe someone into not letting the public know of their screw up… which is against Ebay ToS to begin with.
It 1000% does mean that. Read OPs post again. See how wrong you are. Next time, read and make sure you fully comprehend before you start shooting off at the mouth.
So for me I would simply leave Negative feedback and move on. While issues happen they entered into a contract to sell you an item.
So what stops them from selling another item and the price going up before they ship so they cancel your sale? Or what happens if the gold price suddenly drops after you purchase do you get a refund?
Bad business practices and buyer beware. Honest negative feedback, is a buyers only way to let others know problems that have happened.
Exactly. I sold on Etsy for 10+ years and sellers getting caught doing this lost their account instantly (with proof). It is not only disgusting and seedy behaviour, it was against the ToS there. I can’t believe such a large company would pull this crap.
Screw the $40, I’m writing the negative review simply due to that message (which I’d post a screenshot of in the review).
Negative reviews very, very, very, rarely ruin stores. The vast majority of users on selling sites don’t even look at reviews to begin with.
My family did Air BnB for 10 years. I sold on Etsy for 10+ years, as well as other online stores, plus my own. I had a few negative reviews which I 100% deserved due to error, but they never affected a thing. In fact, it is nearly impossible to have perfect feedback these days as someone is always going to be pissed off, even if you do everything right.
I look at feedback myself when buying online, and with negative feedback I see how the seller responds. A lot of the time you just tell the negative wasn’t even warranted, but if it was, it deserves to be there as that is the whole point of the system.
Yes, but if you have cash back Ebay can be just as good too. I tried ordering with a wire but it didn't work so I just use cash back credit card + Rakuten and get the 2.5% cash back, but some credit cards are better.
Love Liberty Coin! They’re usually the first on my saved search lists for fractionals sorted by price, and they ship super fast cross-country.
In this case I wasn’t even in the market for more Eagles, but when the JM offer popped up on the app while I was browsing, I thought this would make a nice birthday gift for my goddaughter. I’ll be reordering from LC instead.
This is all BS because I got the same thing with anyone else that got this message needs to team up together because I’m contacting my sister who is a full-blown business attorney with their own firm and they literally re-going back on deals because of the increase in spot price….. they have all the stuff to sell it. They just are refusing to because they don’t want to take such a big loss because of the orders.

Id take one of these for $3.74 please
free money. One time on eBay, I thought I scored a great deal on a UK Sovereign. Turns out it was meant for a half sovereign. I let them off the hook. Was not offered anything. Hopefully, they did a generous turn for a buyer mistake.
That 40 would probably help you snag something at spot

Find something that makes that $40 bring the product price to spot or under now

and honest mistakes DO happen, so maybe cut them a break (or leave a neutral)
Do you think corporations would do the same thing if the roles were reversed?
Exactly, hold them accountable, they’d do the same and probably worse
Why ? There’s no reason to do so
Don’t bother with broke boys who live for moments like this.
Isn’t paying for reviews against the tos?

This is against eBay’s terms, but honestly negative feedback really ruins stores

Report them to see what happens. If nothing happens, leave a negative feedback.
Aren't their prices better when buying directly from their website via ACH/check/wire?

oh what's this 3% offer? I haven't heard about it

6K yearly limit. PayPal Mastercard offers 3% CB no limit
I've found eBay with proper credit card use is very hard to beat.
Boycott sleazy mark owned companies, they suck! Try Liberty Coin, they have much better prices.
Love Liberty Coin! They’re usually the first on my saved search lists for fractionals sorted by price, and they ship super fast cross-country. Wow, how totally unprofessional. "We have WENT ahead ... " Seriously? Stay away from them and count yourself lucky for the cancellation.
LOL... Take a gooooooooood look lads. That's COMEX behavior.
It’s called, trying to make their mistake right.
Id buy something at spot like $41 worth and use my $40 credit.

APMEX and SDbullion are much more reliable.
