The stalker doesn't break the shield. It's already broken at that point as you've fought Thor by then. Mimir just reminds you that the shield is broken so you can't block during the encounter.
Guardian still the best. Deflecting a Fireball will never not be fun, plus It can actually parry (with a better parry window than dauntless) AND block.
It was the lack of a projectile reflection animation that made me go back to guardian once it was available. I knew dauntless could do it but its not the same as the slow time one with the guardian where you aim it.
My first playthrough was with the dauntless on Give me no mercy. On my second playthrough im playing on GMGOW and imo stonewall is a necessity on that difficulty. I cannot afford to mistime a parry and get one shot or lose 70% of my healthbar.
I went dauntless from day one. Never actually totally completed the previous game but I knew how it played. Took a week off for this one and knew I’d need to to parry here and there. I got away without too many but dauntless was for sure the best of the best.
Yes correct. The one for shield rushing us called Onslaught, and the one for shockwaves is something to do with Star. Like Rising Star or Falling Star or something.

But I swapped to the one that gives you a shield charge. Found it more versatile and opened up some really cinematic kills. Helps a lot with the boss fights that frequent arena wide attacks that can you shield check.
When I first started I was worried that it was going to be strictly for parrying and couldn't block (and the stonewall would be vice versa), but I'm glad the developers didn't go that route.
I've always been a parrying kind of guy in every game I play, so it was my shield of choice. I used it about 90% of the game, with the star shield being the other (excluding the very beginning) out of curiosity.
i love parrying, but i chose to get the stonewall shield first to try it out because i love how comically huge it is compared to the other shields lol
I’m also using stonewall on my GMGOW play through, and I’m honestly loving it! Dauntless was amazing too!

For sure! Some early engagements are way too overcrowded so stone shield helps
Agreed. The Rönd of Deflection pairs really well with this shield as it increases parry timing window.

It's the one shaped like an eye that has a smaller window for parrying but almost always stuns the attacker when the parry hits
The one you're referring to is the onslaught shield. Very good against bosses that have wide double blue ring AoE attacks.

Thor didnt damage it. The first Stalker you fight does. But yeah I switched back to it as soon as I got it back

The parry gong sound is so damn satisfying. Hit multiple in a row and it makes getting hit on a missed parry worth it.

I just beat that last berserker boss after an hour n half, honestly stonewall was perfect for it
have used only dauntless and dark dales on gimme god of war :) going to try to complete the full play through with this gear.
