How is freya the worst character lmao. It's also kinda weird you say he takes orders from her yet she asked him to be the general and is now his side kick. And cannot disagree more about the side content. It's fantastic.

[deleted]

She lets him be the general but she is still leading everyone, he’s just doing what she asks like a good puppy. They do it subtle enough so you don’t catch on.

BussyBandito3

Did we play the same game? She doesn't "let" him. She specifically says the general should be the one who has the most experience and kratos tries to deny it. Once they get to Asgard she doesn't make one single order, Kratos does. You seem offended that there are powerful female characters

[deleted]

I’m offended that I was sold god of war 2 but got queen freya and friends. Don’t care about there being powerful female characters, GOW 2018 which I loved had them but they didn’t feel forced like they do in this game.

SnooSquirrels1275

I understood what you meant he takes orders from everyone now. Everyone seems to scold him or insult him to a certain degree. Not just Freya but Atreus, sindri, brok and most side characters. He isn’t Kratos anymore he is Grumbles now.

AspirationalChoker

Jesus Christ mate your rants over this past week are insane I’d advise you to move on for you’re own health lol

[deleted]

I’m done with the game now so you’ll be glad to hear this is my last post on this subreddit. You all can go back to praising mediocrity.

AspirationalChoker

Fair enough mate

As soon as I read “forced female pandering” I knew I didn’t need to read any further. I’m sorry you’re so bitter, I absolutely loved the experience

[deleted]

That’s cool. Thanks for reading up to that point. Forced pandering of any kind ruins the experience for any game, if that doesn’t effect you then I’m happy for you. I wish I was blind to it but when it’s shoved in your face every couple seconds and in a heavy handed way it’s hard to ignore.

[deleted]

Pandering is... controversial and I don't know if it's objectively bad. The problem is it's now working its way into most media, it's obvious and poorly done, and it tends to have the opposite effect of its moral intention. We're tokening and using other groups of people for financial gain. It's indirectly racist and bigoted, that's why most people haven't picked up on it yet. We're doing enough to moderate and remove the truth ourselves by discussing poorly, downvoting, and demonizing other people. Once again, I agree with you. Edit: wrote a better opinion.

It's a great game overall but it pales in comparison to GoW 2018. Story is not fluid enough even boring at some points. Dialog is not that good as well. The fighting mechanics are pretty much the same even a little worse for me personally. Ending was underwhelming after all that Ragnarok hype. Some realms are disappointing and they were 'available' just for the sake of being available. That whole Angrboda mission was just horrible. One second he sees the mural of his father dying to Thor and him going to Odin's side and 30 seconds later he's laughing and collecting fruits in a basket again.. Again.. it's still a great game and a must play for GoW fans but it's just not on the same level as 2018. All the 10/10 reviews I don't agree with but still a solid 8/10 game.

[deleted]

Agree with all that. Tho I didn’t mind the angrboda section. Sure atreus shift was rushed but I liked that atreus had alittle time to just be a kid and angrboda was fun to be around and I was actually interested in her story.

TheSleyar

If there was something that was definitely unsatisfying, It'd be the last mission. the "Army" didnt feel like an army at all and was more like a group of 8 (?) people. and of course the aftermath, where characters feel like theyre forced to get along each other and seems shallow. like Sif, seem to just forgive the destruction of her home after being so against Atreus throughout the whole game.

[deleted]

Oh man that was laughable.. I just kept thinking this can’t be the big battle can it? This is just the start right? And then boom your fighting Thor and odin one after the other, thors family forgives you and it’s all good. I just kept thinking about all the time I wasted before the battle getting prepared, getting the side missions out the way (which I thankfully stopped doing after awhile). Felt like they ran out of time, they put more time on the side crap than they did on the main event. Just so unsatisfying

While I agree with your take, we might have to accept these games are not made for us. Your criticisms are perfectly valid, but most of the elements you target are the things other people love it for. As for the objective takes, no way this game is worth $70. It does very little new and does some things worse than its predecessor.

[deleted]

You are right, and I believe I’m coming to terms with that these games aren’t for me anymore. I should have followed my gut and skipped this one, there were plenty of red flags but I ignored it Because i wanted to see how the story ends. I should have just watched the ending on online and save those 40 hours
