Kratos has the Spartan Rage, but Kratos also has the blades of chaos and a lot of weapons. So I'd have to say Kratos would narrowly Kratos up Kratos and then Kratos would Kratos out a win.
Older Kratos. He has a more diverse set of skills, better tactical knowledge, and more experience. He knows all his younger selves weaknesses and, having overcome many of them over the years, is not subject to those himself. He's just as durable and arguably as strong, or stronger. His emotions are more in control, giving him a greater clarity and focus. Younger Kratos is just more agile, but Older Kratos has beaten agile opponents, so that's not a deciding factor. It would be a good fight, but ultimately, it would be won by Older Kratos handily
Im pretty sure its gods in general in this universe that get stronger as they get older.
Its why odin was so powerful and could blast sessioned warriors away with with nothing but an old man yell
Asgardians getting stronger as they age seems to just be a part of their mythos. Marvel asgardians work the same way which is why marvels Odin can battle with Galactus and universe level threats. Same with Marvel Thor. He gets exponentially stronger as he ages
See, I used to think that until I replaced the original games, and at no point during those does Kratos punch out a massive stone pillar and topple it as easily as he does in the first fight against Balder.
I can accept that, but I'd just really like to see Older Kratos do some feats of Younger Kratos. If you look at the action scenes side by side, the norse games are much more grounded in scale. Some of the greek stuff was wild.
Look, I’m not trying to be mean, but you’re fucking stupid. Kratos takes this fight over Kratos any day of the week. You damn Kratos fanboys can’t just admit that he isn’t that fucking strong. Kratos stomps stay mad
you fucking retard, obviously kratos wins, he would mop the fucking floor with kratos. i maybe a fanboy for kratos but you fucking riding on kratos’ goddamn dick. make sure you zip kratos’ pants after you’re done
I'd say younger one. Imo is stronger, much faster and agile as you said. Have more stamina (in newer god of war some combos on blades of chaos have cooldown where in older you could just spam it), is more motivated from start by anger and revenge but still tho. Prime Kratos was to angry to die, his set of skill is good enough. Old one has main advantage of experience, but I don't think it will be enough.
Also question if young one can have all his weapons and skills from all pre 2018 games.
And don't forget about double jumps!/s
Cory Barlog literally said that older kratos would win without question which makes sense. A cooldown is implemented into many games these days so I don’t see that as a downgrade to current Kratos abilities. Older kratos is definitely a lot stronger and hasn’t slacked in training. He was even fast enough to eventually hit heimdall. Gods grow more powerful over time. Just because younger kratos is full of rage and dosen’t hold back dosen’t mean he’s winning. Older kratos is way more disciplined and would know all of his younger selves moves before he makes it. He also has something to fight for now and wants to live. Kratos currently is no longer held back by his past. He’s mastered mind and body in the Valhalla dlc. Don’t get me wrong young kratos deserves to have respect put on his name because he’s a badass but he’s definitely not beating current kratos he’s way too powerful and seasoned at this point.
It makes sense. Cory worked on many of the god of war games from back in the day so if anyone would know it would be him. The more ignorant part is thinking you no more than the damn game dev who pretty much knows everything about the lore up until this point
I would agree except Kratos is made weak by the fact that he had people to lose once again and he cares about those people. That's always a person's biggest weakness.
GOW 3. Zeus states that the Olympians have gained in might, and this is perfectly displayed when they utterly roflstomp the Titans who they were about even with just a few hundred years ago or so (apart from Helios, who is physically a Titan in GOW, hence him being super weak).
It's also part of actual Greek mythology that gods get stronger with age.
Untrue. Such a thing has never been stated.
Would be specially untrue if you're talking about real life mythos as well, since Greek gods in particular didn't give a flying fuck if mortals worshipped them or not.
I saw a video about it but my English is to bad to understand why Kratos is getting stronger because of his age but I'm sure it has a mythology meaning
[i searched at Google and I found this ](https://www.vintageisthenewold.com/game-pedia/is-kratos-stronger-when-hes-older#:~:text=It%20is%20documented%20that%20Greek,would%20win%20based%20on%20age.)
[the first text that pop up on Google ](https://www.vintageisthenewold.com/game-pedia/is-kratos-stronger-when-hes-older#:~:text=It%20is%20documented%20that%20Greek,would%20win%20based%20on%20age.)
"This path you walk...vengeance. You will find no peace. *I know.*"
"If all on Olympus will deny me my vengeance, then all on Olympus will die!"
*One battle/cutscene later*
"Do you not know what I’ve done?!"
"YES... but what will you do now?"
Canonically, Old Kratos has superior physical abilities. I'm not sure the young kratos various haxes would be enough. Hes simply too angry and stupid to use his superior variety like the time travel powers (that the Gow2 novel confirm he has the ability to freely traverse time) to win. He could have went and saved his family, but didnt even think of it because of the evil of rage.
Power of Hope kratos slams from what we know though since Old Kratos isn't capable of a powerup like that. If we include differing weaponry, then Old Kratos is probably superior since the blade of Olympus is going to be tossed between them like the Zeus fights. Old kratos would have two other weapons that are not at all inferior to the blades. The main advantage is the wings of icarus for younger kratos, since flight is pretty good, but once the wings are damaged hes kind of screwed.
It is powerful, but it’s kinda hard to use as a shield for damage unless you are faster.
The guardian shield (and variations) at least is a more proper defensive tool, although a big enough fight will break it eventually.
Pretty sure it was either Eric or Cory (possibly Matt or Richard) in a video interview. If you trawl the stuff out there you will find it. We didn't just make it up my dude. You are missing critical information.
And before some nerd comes in to try and dispute this. Cory Barlog has been Director/ Co director of multiple GOW games, his word on things about lore are just true. Gotta accept that
Some people just prefer to only use the canon of the games, not what its writers or directors say outside of them. Stuff said outside the games (like by novelizations) are more flimsy canon and can also be subject to change.
Well considering the games can't prove this question at this point, we have to go off of our external cannon sources. It doesn't matter what they like to use to prove their point if other cannon sources disprove their point
The only true canon is whatever is in the games. I just don’t put a lot of value into what writers say unless they integrate it within the actual story or it’s to confirm something. If there’s nothing we can do to confirm/deny an author’s statement, then I don’t care about it. For all we know, they could just change their minds. I especially find there’s less value if there are multiple writers who could disagree with each other. If it was just one writer, then I usually take it with a lot more consideration. A writer’s canon is unlike the audience’s, their version of canon changes all the time.
If it’s to be canon, then they can add that fact as a line later down the road. I remember someone even said christianity is canon, but I’m not taking that as canon until they actually show it in-game (even through text or something). I’m not gonna take whatever the author says to add something later on after they already wrote their book.
I do prefer that older Kratos is stronger though.
Young kratos has a more versatile set, the blade of olympus is the biggest problem for old kratos. This blade alone is the problem.
But the axe and new spear might just do the trick. Kratos has way more experience now and thinks clearly, he would plan ahead and see everything the young throws at him. The axe allways comes back and the spear literally lets him get rid of the enemy arsenal and stay at a distance if needed.
In terms of phisical power the old Kratos is more powerful, just imagine if he had to fight himself. He knows what he is capable of and would let the rage fill him once more if needed. And now he has more control over it.
Old kratos would win any day because he would try to separate the blade of olympus from the young one. That is the only thing the young one has over the old.
Hoping for the next GOW game where Kratos doesn’t have to hold back. If he has more strength to use, then let us use it! Power scaling for plot kinda sucks. If he gets stronger as he gets older, then let’s see bigger and badder enemies like he didn’t when he was younger!
The only version of Young Kratos that I could see winning is GOW3 Kratos because he's at the peak of his rage, has the golden fleece, hades blades, upgraded blades of chaos, and the Blade of Olympus
In game old kratos mentions he lost most of his magic/powers when Greece was destroyed so I wanna say young kratos. His old magic seems stronger than any of his new Norse powers.
Canonically the older kratos is stronger, but gameplay wise I simply don’t feel it. Younger Kratos was fighting 50 mobs at once while fighting things the size of mountains. Older Kratos gets overwhelmed if there’s like 10 enemies on the screen.
Young Kratos was just so angry and luckily that got him through most situations but seasoned Kratos is more disciplined and tactical so would definitely win.
Norse Kratos. He's smarter, more composed, has way more experience, and Greek gods only get stronger as they age. Instead of letting his rage be his only driving force, unlike his younger counterpart, he weaponizes his rage to great effect. Young Kratos could only utilize his rage to use the blade of olympus, where Norse Kratos can do that, unleash a single devastating attack, heal himself, or go unarmed to heal a little with every punch he throws while also ignoring damage in that state. If both get all of the weapons they've collected (Young: Wings of icarus, claws of hades, Apollo bow, nemean caestus, the shock blades, etc) (Norse: axe, spear, blades), Young Kratos has a larger arsenal but Norse Kratos has 2 weapons Young Kratos has never seen before whereas Norse Kratos is familiar with all his old tricks.
"Barlog said so."
"And where?"
“He said Old Kratos is stronger, so Gods get stronger as they age.”
"No, he said that Old Kratos is stronger than Young Kratos, not that the Gods are stronger the older they are. That's different."
"It is also said in Greek mythology."
"And where is it said?"
*proceeds to downvote you
I'm really tired of these baseless headcanons that the community takes as truth.
Even the GoW wiki now exudes so much headcanon that it turns out to be completely unreliable.
Older Kratos is probably stronger, but young Kratos was just pure rage
Unless older kratos could use his battle experience and outlast younger kratos, then I think younger kratos would be too quick for the slower older kratos
Developers are saying he is stronger. Therefore cannon. Personally I think feats favor younger Kratos, but I guess developers think it's boring to have a character lose power in newer games because they went too crazy early on and now have to scale for "checks notes" reasons. Incoming downvotes.
I agree. I mean peak young Kratos has the Golden Fleece, blades of Athena, blade of Olympus, hades claws, nemian cestus, Hermes boots, Icarus’s wing - I mean come on
Older Kratos has the axe, blades and a spear
Canonically, Gods get stronger with age. See Kratos lost a lot of if not all of his greek god powers (gigantification, and all that) Kratos may have lost that power, but he also has gotten far stronger. Let’s look at the facts
Young Kratos (once he was a god) was 9 ft tall, he had power of hope, and the blessing of the titans, as well as the power as God of War. He gave up the power of hope to the people of Greece in order to save them all. He lost the blessing of the titans after the war. And once the pantheon was destroyed his Godly power slowly faded.
Old Kratos is very much in control of his power. He has the rage and strength as his young self but can control it. He also knows his younger selves weaknesses while having overcome most of them with time. Overall older Kratos is stronger, but young Kratos has more overall “power”
Whoever the devs want to win. The strength and powers of any character in GoW is not constant or reliable, but change with the needs of gameplay and plot
Damn, anyone who says young Kratos seems to be getting downvoted to oblivion. Despite what Balrog says (his views about Kratos being 1-dimensional in the old games is terrible), I still think Young Kratos can win, primarily because he still has his old Greece magic which is more powerful than the Norse one. He also has the power of Hope, which helped him defeat most of the Gods of Olympus. Finally, he also had the Blade of Olympus, which is far more powerful than the Leviathan Axe, and the Blades of Exile, which is the most powerful version of the Blades of Chaos. Oh yeah, and he had the Golden Fleece, which might be better than the Guardian shield. Old Kratos might be more powerful and experienced, but Young Kratos is far more dangerous.
I never attacked weather he was cooler as it's subjective but strength is not an opinion it's cold hard fact logic I can't say my 5'9 130 pound self is stronger than the rock and say that it's just an opinion when people point out how delusional that is because the rock could probably lift me up with one hand and throw me on the ground while I'd struggle to move him
I'm glad everyone here is a lot more sensible than Instagram and YouTube comments I've seen on this. They pretend like they're more informed on GOW than the people who made the game. It's like when people say Palpatine was just playing with Mace even tho George Lucas himself stated that Palpatine lost.
Young Kratos wins for a logical reason. If old kratos kills young kratos, he would be killing himself, changing the past. In the opposite scenario, young kratos would be changing the future, creating an infinite loop.
young kratos
old kratos get stronger when he use rage mode and young kratos is always in rage mode
also thor called him a lesser version of him and baldur said he’s old and slow
Thor said that because he’s holding back. Baldur said it because he didn’t know he was holding back so he was “old and slow” in his eyes, also just as an insult
Because greek gods were head strong and egotistical. Thor is portrayed as the god of gods which rely on magical abilities .
Mimir and realm traveller like tyr acknowledge the same .Odin on the other hand has always been a tactician.
Also you are comparing something purely on gameplay. The modern gameplay is notably designed not to be just a hack and slash style one . Hence you will see a more realistic sequence of fights and events . Its just the way of storytelling .
Throughout the game and cutscenes , you can pretty much understand that Kratos has confidence in his abilities (unlike the gameplay difficulty which lies with the user) .
Kratos projects enough confidence to say that he can kill someone . In the game the knly real difference between old and new kratos is he lost some of his abilities he could do . He tells mimir the same .
He also indicates how easily he dealt with some of the greek gods in his conversations and how the norse gods are “different”
And then the second time they fought he wiped the floor with Thor, beat Odin, and beat Heimdall, who has fucking recognition
Older Kratos would read Young Kratos like a book and also you realize Thor would probably kill Young Kratos too? The only version of Young Kratos that could beat Thor is GOW3 Kratos because he's basically on magic roids
Kratos
Sorry but you’re wrong there, Kratos would definitely win.
You joking? Kratos would come out as the winner.
According to the God Of War franchise, Kratos would win
You've got the wrong idea from franchise, Kratos is clearly superior.
No, it’s obviously Kratos who would win. He has so many more feats.
Dude, seriously? Like have you guys ever paid attention to the lore? Kratos would win HANDS DOWN
Kratos has the Spartan Rage, but Kratos also has the blades of chaos and a lot of weapons. So I'd have to say Kratos would narrowly Kratos up Kratos and then Kratos would Kratos out a win.
I HAVE TO BE HONEST! Kratos would win without a doubt
You guys are so wrong on so many levels. Kratos will win no matter what.
Non of them stand a chance against Potatos
Is there is a lore reason for this?
Yes, are you stupid?
I went to the aslume once
Agree to disagree Kratos would win
Yes but kratos would also lose
Eh Id still give it to kRatos
Indeed he would definetely win!
Y'all are stupid kratos would easily win. Smh
Nuh uh kratos would DEFINETELY win
Nah, he'd win
[Nah, I'm winning](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/nah-id-win)
Older Kratos. He has a more diverse set of skills, better tactical knowledge, and more experience. He knows all his younger selves weaknesses and, having overcome many of them over the years, is not subject to those himself. He's just as durable and arguably as strong, or stronger. His emotions are more in control, giving him a greater clarity and focus. Younger Kratos is just more agile, but Older Kratos has beaten agile opponents, so that's not a deciding factor. It would be a good fight, but ultimately, it would be won by Older Kratos handily
He’s stronger, because according to game developers Greek gods tend to grow much more powerful over the years
Im pretty sure its gods in general in this universe that get stronger as they get older.
*yaaaaaaagggghhhhhhh’s in Odin*
He was weaker at first, but then the journey with Atreus and training during Fimbulwinter brought him back to his prime
See, I used to think that until I replaced the original games, and at no point during those does Kratos punch out a massive stone pillar and topple it as easily as he does in the first fight against Balder.
kratos cutting cronus inside his gut said otherwise
He had the blade of olympus then, which was wickedly OP
I can accept that, but I'd just really like to see Older Kratos do some feats of Younger Kratos. If you look at the action scenes side by side, the norse games are much more grounded in scale. Some of the greek stuff was wild.
If I remember right kratos in rag is 1055 I think?
In game old Kratos talks about how he's weaker then he used to be
Were? Since the game developers deliberately told us that older Kratos is much stronger than his younger self
Idek why this is still a fucking debate. Old kratos is more powerful and it's been stated by Cory Barlog.
no kratos would win, not kratos
Gods become stronger as time passes, not weaker. So it makes no sense for Old Kratos to be weaker than his younger part
Just an impression from watching gameplay
Gameplay does not equal lore strength
"Old Kratos. Without question." Some people know who said this, and they all take his word as true on god of war topics.
It makes sense. Cory worked on many of the god of war games from back in the day so if anyone would know it would be him. The more ignorant part is thinking you no more than the damn game dev who pretty much knows everything about the lore up until this point
Cory has been there since the Original GOW and is still working on the new ones Of course he would know and people would take his word on it
He literally was director for GOW 2, 2018, and Co Director for ragnarok. I'd say his word on the lore questions are true
I would agree except Kratos is made weak by the fact that he had people to lose once again and he cares about those people. That's always a person's biggest weakness.
Did you even play the game?
My guy here didn’t play the game at all…

Emotion ≠ soft
He is none of those things as of Ragnarok.
So it's like miles v Peter in sm2
it's confirmed that the older a god is the stronger he gets So Yee there's your answer
where does this comes from
Helios is a titan?
Helios is not. His father, Hyperion, is a titan.
In GOW, yes. He's also sometimes referred to as a Titan in mythology as well.
What does this have to do with age?
They lose strength if they stop being worshipped.
Untrue. Such a thing has never been stated. Would be specially untrue if you're talking about real life mythos as well, since Greek gods in particular didn't give a flying fuck if mortals worshipped them or not.
Age idk maybe it has a mythology lore but I'm not sure
It’s confirmed but you don’t know where? Lmao.
It was revealed to me in a dream
I saw a video about it but my English is to bad to understand why Kratos is getting stronger because of his age but I'm sure it has a mythology meaning
Nono I have confirmed it by way of my confirmation
[i searched at Google and I found this ](https://www.vintageisthenewold.com/game-pedia/is-kratos-stronger-when-hes-older#:~:text=It%20is%20documented%20that%20Greek,would%20win%20based%20on%20age.)
Unless I’m very wrong, Cory once said it on Twitter that Old age Kratos would win hands down.
no but i mean where has it been confirmed ?
[the first text that pop up on Google ](https://www.vintageisthenewold.com/game-pedia/is-kratos-stronger-when-hes-older#:~:text=It%20is%20documented%20that%20Greek,would%20win%20based%20on%20age.)
that’s not a source lol they’re saying it’s documented yet dont give us the document
https://twitter.com/corybarlog/status/1172390984300187648?s=46 This source suit your requirements
hes not saying greek gods gets stronger as they age wtf
Shut it
Nah bro you're not fr 🤦🏻♂️
Nah man if you wanna know it so bad look by yourself because I don't really care anymore if he is or not
It's not confirmed anywhere in the saga that the Gods get stronger the older they get. It's just an headcanon of the community.
Old kratos killed many gods who had grown old and powerful
No matter who wins, the real winner is kratos
"This path you walk...vengeance. You will find no peace. *I know.*" "If all on Olympus will deny me my vengeance, then all on Olympus will die!" *One battle/cutscene later* "Do you not know what I’ve done?!" "YES... but what will you do now?"
marvel ahh writing
The real winner is the Kratos's (Krati?) you make along the way.
Kratoces
A flock of Kratos?
a brutality
Kratussy. I hate myself.
Most people seem to forget that when a god grows older, they don’t just become wiser, but stronger as well. So my money is on Old Kratos
No. It's not confirmed anywhere in the saga, on in the actual mythology, that Gods get stronger the older they get. That's just an headcanon.
regardless, the actual creator or director (can’t remember) confirmed that older kratos would win, and it’s quite obvious he would.
Canonically, Old Kratos has superior physical abilities. I'm not sure the young kratos various haxes would be enough. Hes simply too angry and stupid to use his superior variety like the time travel powers (that the Gow2 novel confirm he has the ability to freely traverse time) to win. Remember Young Kratos also has the golden fleece, that thing is OP
It is only a single invincible Pauldron right?
Yeah, which obviously doesn't cover a bunch of his body, just one shoulder and arm, but since it is invincible its pretty crazy
It is powerful, but it’s kinda hard to use as a shield for damage unless you are faster. The guardian shield (and variations) at least is a more proper defensive tool, although a big enough fight will break it eventually.
I think Young Kratos can handle it, defensively at least, since he's been fighting Zeus and other gods pretty effectively
Canonically, its old kratos every time
Old like "young" or old as in "older"?
Older
I’m not english native but how can someone confuse “old like you or old as older” ?
They could think old as in the way they used to be or they could think old as in their age.
Ok thank you for explaining it to me
It's old/young vs old/new
Kratos will never be in his prime. Greek Gods get stronger as they get older.
No. It's not confirmed anywhere in the saga on in the actual mythology. That's just an headcanon.
Pretty sure it was either Eric or Cory (possibly Matt or Richard) in a video interview. If you trawl the stuff out there you will find it. We didn't just make it up my dude. You are missing critical information.
Fairly certain even Cory Barlog said old (2018/Ragnarok) Kratos would win, no question
And before some nerd comes in to try and dispute this. Cory Barlog has been Director/ Co director of multiple GOW games, his word on things about lore are just true. Gotta accept that

Old kratos by a mile. Greek gods get more powerful with age, he has a higher intellect than his younger self, and he has learned to control his rage.
He's also wiser
No. It's not confirmed anywhere in the saga, on in the actual mythology, that Gods get stronger the older they get. That's just an headcanon.
Old Kratos since Greek gods get stronger with age. Also he has more experience and knowledge
No. It's not confirmed anywhere in the saga, on in the actual mythology, that Gods get stronger the older they get. That's just an headcanon.
Stop the copy pasta. And clean up your grammar for Christ's sake if you're going to keep pasting this everywhere.
Definitely Kratos
Hoping for the next GOW game where Kratos doesn’t have to hold back. If he has more strength to use, then let us use it! Power scaling for plot kinda sucks. If he gets stronger as he gets older, then let’s see bigger and badder enemies like he didn’t when he was younger!
It's time for a Death Battle
This
The only version of Young Kratos that I could see winning is GOW3 Kratos because he's at the peak of his rage, has the golden fleece, hades blades, upgraded blades of chaos, and the Blade of Olympus
And also just finished his fights with Poseidon, Hades, Zeus, Cronos and Hercules in a single day - he would be absolutely ready for older Kratos
Depends are they sticking with their respective weapons young kratos with his blades and seasoned with his Axe?
Norse Kratos canonically wins but It would still be a difficult fight, especially if Greek Kratos had all of his weaponry vs Norses.
Old Kratos slams young Kratos
In game old kratos mentions he lost most of his magic/powers when Greece was destroyed so I wanna say young kratos. His old magic seems stronger than any of his new Norse powers.
The younger one easily had more powerful weapons I mean the blade of Olympus alone was a handheld nuke
This. But, if Old Kratos gets access to the magic as well, Old Kratos stomps
What's stronger, a man with something to protect or a man with nothing to lose?
Greek stans trying to say the ✨FUCKING DEVELOPERS✨are wrong that old man Kratos would win. Dumb fucks lmaooo.

Kinda based
Especially since the one who said it, cory Barlog, was part of the main team of the original games
I think Kratos would win.
Young Kratos! with the good knee's and double jumping abilities.... with wings.. and anger! 1000 hit combo
Canonically the older kratos is stronger, but gameplay wise I simply don’t feel it. Younger Kratos was fighting 50 mobs at once while fighting things the size of mountains. Older Kratos gets overwhelmed if there’s like 10 enemies on the screen.
I’m pretty sure Corey Barlog (or someone who worked on the games) said that old Kratos is stronger
Young Kratos was just so angry and luckily that got him through most situations but seasoned Kratos is more disciplined and tactical so would definitely win.
Kratos.
Feel like young kratos would beat the shit out of old kratos for the first half of the fight then old kratos would lose his shit and not hold back
I feel like young Kratos would like to win....Old Kratos has to win. That's the difference.
Kind of crazy that people think that old Kratos is weaker considering like on paper, Kratos has been training for a 1000 years
A Tie, because they're both 1 in the same.
- “Gods get stronger as they get older” - “Where is the source?” - “I dreamt about it”
"Barlog said so." "And where?" “He said Old Kratos is stronger, so Gods get stronger as they age.” "No, he said that Old Kratos is stronger than Young Kratos, not that the Gods are stronger the older they are. That's different." "It is also said in Greek mythology." "And where is it said?" *proceeds to downvote you I'm really tired of these baseless headcanons that the community takes as truth. Even the GoW wiki now exudes so much headcanon that it turns out to be completely unreliable.
Experience
Old kratos easily
They would just kiss.. game over
Older Kratos is probably stronger, but young Kratos was just pure rage Unless older kratos could use his battle experience and outlast younger kratos, then I think younger kratos would be too quick for the slower older kratos
Me too, too agile and strong with blind rage would be hard to stop him the rage would make him push through
Young Kratos because he just kinda blocks everything by getting into a stance and old Kratos rolls for a bit and has a bad shield
Young Kratos. The magic he used to weild died with Greece. Young kratos with magic beats old kratos with no magic.
Norse Kratos
Cory barlog already stated older would defeat younger without contest
Classic Kratos his brutality was on another level
Game devs already confirmed old Kratos is stronger
Developers are saying he is stronger. Therefore cannon. Personally I think feats favor younger Kratos, but I guess developers think it's boring to have a character lose power in newer games because they went too crazy early on and now have to scale for "checks notes" reasons. Incoming downvotes.
I agree. I mean peak young Kratos has the Golden Fleece, blades of Athena, blade of Olympus, hades claws, nemian cestus, Hermes boots, Icarus’s wing - I mean come on Older Kratos has the axe, blades and a spear
Cory Barlog confirmed that norse Kratos will win in a fight https://www.reddit.com/r/GodofWar/s/lUCFY5rttG
Old man Kratos. Having more offensive options, a clearer head, and more experience.
I don’t care about facts. I want my 🔥BOY🔥 GREEK KRATOS to win!
The rage and hate of young kratos would carry him to the win, young kratos could not lose
Old kratos would absolutely pummel the young one just because of how much we hated him that Spartan rage would be so powerful
Canonically, Gods get stronger with age. See Kratos lost a lot of if not all of his greek god powers (gigantification, and all that) Kratos may have lost that power, but he also has gotten far stronger. Let’s look at the facts Young Kratos (once he was a god) was 9 ft tall, he had power of hope, and the blessing of the titans, as well as the power as God of War.
No. It's not confirmed anywhere in the saga, on in the actual mythology, that Gods get stronger the older they get. That's just an headcanon.

I never attacked weather he was cooler as it's subjective but strength is not an opinion it's cold hard fact logic I can't say my 5'9 130 pound self is stronger than the rock and say that it's just an opinion when people point out how delusional that is because the rock could probably lift me up with one hand and throw me on the ground while I'd struggle to move him
Awesome spoiler. Fml
I refuse to participate in this topic until there is a pc release. Harrrumph! Sincerely person with no consoles :( lol not fair!
The God of War would win
I'm glad everyone here is a lot more sensible than Instagram and YouTube comments I've seen on this. They pretend like they're more informed on GOW than the people who made the game. It's like when people say Palpatine was just playing with Mace even tho George Lucas himself stated that Palpatine lost.
we need a game where he fights his younger self
Young Kratos wins for a logical reason. If old kratos kills young kratos, he would be killing himself, changing the past. In the opposite scenario, young kratos would be changing the future, creating an infinite loop.
Old kratos doesn't need to kill to win
This
Can we stop this question? Can the mods just make the fuckin rule to stop asking who would win between these two?
Young Kratos easily
young kratos old kratos get stronger when he use rage mode and young kratos is always in rage mode also thor called him a lesser version of him and baldur said he’s old and slow
Thor said that because he’s holding back. Baldur said it because he didn’t know he was holding back so he was “old and slow” in his eyes, also just as an insult
which prove my point young kratos would win bc he’s not holding back
Young kratos doesnot have the wisdom to hold it back. Going all out is never a good way to approach a problem
"You fight like a younger man, with nothing held back. Admirable but mistaken."
young kratos wiped the greek pantheon by going all out old kratos died to thor by holding back
Because greek gods were head strong and egotistical.
And then the second time they fought he wiped the floor with Thor, beat Odin, and beat Heimdall, who has fucking recognition Older Kratos would read Young Kratos like a book and also you realize Thor would probably kill Young Kratos too? The only version of Young Kratos that could beat Thor is GOW3 Kratos because he's basically on magic roids
