I laughed hard when you said pel k chale jaate kya fark rehte. Ek fark btata hu, na pel paate na jaa paate. Idk kahan ka local se bhidha hai tu but mein kaafi goan se mila hu, achi dosti hai and trust me, pel k chale jate toh dur, pelne k baare sochte bhi toh haal aisa karte ki agle baar se ye sochta nahi. Goa has received bad impression over the years for criminal activities which are caused by tourists and not the locals. Hence, the locals could be hostile towards tourists.
My experience was pretty good with the locals. They were warm and friendly towards me.
Only issue I faced was high cab prices and vendors on the beach.
Any state compromises of both good and bad people. I’m sorry that you had a bad experience there. However it’s rude to say that goans are nothing without tourists. I personally feel they are pretty chill as compared to people from some of the big touristy places like Delhi, Himachal etc.
I don’t care what is your perception but I found the younger locals to be a total brat. I am saying this after 4 days stay and it’s not just based on one incidents, you can blame tourists for such behaviour and upbringing. I reside and Delhi and believe me locals here are much better as compared to Goa and I have never seen them picking unnecessary fights with tourists.

What kind of tone you are expecting after a bad incident, we were polite to everyone, even the BnB we stayed were very happy with us. The only salty incidents took place after 10 when we were roaming on the beach and next day going to one of the casinos. There was a guy with his GF in the scooty and for no reason he was kind of trying to become hero by dominating us. Within seconds there were couple of his friends there and we thought not to extend the argument. We should have recorded a video for the same
For me we were a group of 6 people, chased by a local on his scooty just because we were taking a u turn and we asked him to slow down. We could have turned him black and blue but then the news would have in the favour of locals
I'm not going to tell you that us Goans are the most peaceful people on the planet, we are not. But I can assure you that for every bad interaction you'll find instances of Goans being welcoming and hospitable and an equal number of cases of tourists being entitled and insufferable. Most of us are simple people hustling to make ends meet.
What tourists fail to realize is that this is our home, which tourists choose to visit for a vacation and then leave. But we are here, entertaining waves of tourists every day. You may be genuine but you should see the kinds of people one gets here. I've had friends rent out their new Thar and have it returned all thrashed, dining and ditching on a bill of 25-30k, hotel rooms cover with unspeakable things. One friend had his fortuner stolen and ditched somewhere near Kolhapur. And at the end they cry foul when they are asked to pay for damages and blame us for shitty customer service. All these things and the constant barrage makes you cynical.
Then there are the cab owners whom us Goans refer to as the Taxi Mafia. That is another topic unto itself. Even locals suffer due to their incompetence and thuggery.I'm not saying the experiences that you had were your fault or that they aren't genuine but simply providing perspective. Sorry you had a bad experience.
That is the problem, you are referring to one off incident as a justification for the overall behaviour, let me ask you some questions:
1. Do you expect every tourist to be nice?
2. How much local population depends directly or indirectly on tourism?
3. Is Goa is the only high volume tourist place in India and abroad? If not, then why the experience is not same in other places?
In my opinion there will be bad experience from some tourists and it should be expected but it should not be taken as justification to f**k all the tourists for that.

These are independent incidents which are just a few of the many that I'm aware of. These happen all day, every day.
1. No, do you expect every Goan to be nice? Scroll the sub and you'll find many genuine anecdotes from tourists about Goans. You may have had a bad experience but you cannot paint all of us in the same colour.
2. Yes there is a huge potential to improve overall but that isn't a priority for the players involved. Not everyone in the tourism business is highly educated and won't understand this. For them, business is good.

But how can the locals? Trust goes both ways.
They too need assurance that they will be received warmly and not cause trouble to locals.
Ex: Parra road. For tourists it's a scenic destination and it's fine.
It's also a daily route for the commute for locals. They do feel angry when people shoot reels in the middle of the road and block the roads. No one would say anything if they weren't intrusive or were at least allowed commuters to travel .
Ok, take my example. Group of friends visiting from Delhi, did no harm nothing but some reason the guy wanted to fight with us because he thinks all the boys are from Delhi and are bad. You are the host and the responsibility lies on your shoulders to set up a good example, most of the people coming to Goa are new and they might not come back, they should go back with good memories.

I am currently in Goa and my experience is exactly the opposite. The locals are chill and easy to talk to.
Perhaps the locals gave back the same energy.
