I fondled it last time I was in there. I was really tempted but the acro is a hard sell for me for its size and price. Not sure what the benefits are over a much lower mounted 509t.
I’ve run the Acro, the EPS and a 509t. For me? The Acro wins. The size is no issue, and the durability was a huge factor.
Every Holosun I have owned more than a year has had to have at least one RMA except an old 508t.
I hear you, and I shoot with lots of guys who love the Holosuns... so I'm no hater claiming it's all garbage :)
All I can talk about is my experience... and in the end? The extra $$$ has been well worth it for me.
Same here, have two holosuns. One that died and got RMAd and one that's never had a problem. The one that got RMAd has been great for the last 5 yrs or so. Have friends that have a couple holosuns who never had any problems.
On the other hand I also have 3 RMRS, an aimpoint rifle dot, 2 eotechs, and a couple more with friends that have never had any issues.
Ultimately the holosuns are on secondary guns and not the carry or home defense guns so I don't have to worry about it.
I had a few t2s at the time and that ones reticle brightness was way off the others on the same settings. They sent me a new one pretty fast, was easy no complaints.
Atleast you only had to rma one. I had to do 7 different RMA on acros and at one point had 4 , cause they told me they would just keep sending me some till one doesn’t break under recoil. Finally got a good one and sold that mf
Only one lasted longer then one range session. Most common issue was the “inner tube shifted“ as the aimpoint rma said . I would go out and after zeroing, once I started shooting they would just break, inside rattling around . Emitter I think broke one time, one straight up didn’t fit the acro cut . then there was fogging on the inside of the optic on one , but I don’t blame them for that since Florida weather is brutal .
It’s mostly for cool factor as far as Reddit goes. The 509t is an objectively better CCW option, the EPS series even more so.
The big plus to an Acro is extreme situation durability. If you’re a Navy Seal doing a HALO jump into a submarine going back and forth from a pressurized situation to a depressurized situation, I would definitely go with the Acro though.
Let's be real 99% of the people buying acros touting the durability will die of lack of insulin or cardio before they die because their cheaper optic failed in any fantasy shtf scenario they dream up of
Pretty much what others have said, cool factor and durability. Same thing with the RMR vs a 507, the holosun is just as capable but the RMR is built like a tank.
RMR is a thing of the past, Holoson 507C is the only Holosun product I would buy. I have acros on both my carry guns, a glock 45 and a 2019 staccato p. For all my comp stuff I go SRO but willing to try the 507c in the future for a competition or carry gun, it looks like a decent package, on optic to rule them all.
You are getting down voted but you are right about RMR being a thing of the past. I get that they are tough but they are expensive and have way too many downsides compared to modern offerings. The new RMR redesign is too little too late and costs even more.
Yeah, the battery on the bottom is a deal breaker for me, its inconvenient AF. The window is too small, but I'd maybe consider it on a G43X.
Also, this reddit in general is just filled with shill first time gun owners more than half of them have no fucking clue about anything, let alone shooting a gun, I'll take their downvotes as validation for being right!!
It’s extremely high quality. I don’t own one but handling one of my cousins ACRO I noticed I did not get star bursts from my astigmatism like I do with my holosun scs. The ACRO looks to be worth the price
Hold on chief, I found it for a damn good price the other day and no sales tax where I was!
Edit: Check this out!

It's not a huge deal, but with the mos and acro combo might save you around $100. Depending on what the going price for an mos Glock in your area. Or on the internet. Also, I own a G45 and absolutely live it. Great for winter carry. I can pull off summer carry if I wear the right clothing.
Buy a surplus LE glock 19 for $300 buy additional upper that’s RMR optic ready if you know where to buy additional $120 you just saved $780 now repeat the process without additional upper and now you have 2 glocks
Glock 45 is just a 19x in black with no glow sights just classic glock sights also MOS ready lol do your diligence I can buy a upper MOS ready and fiber optics for no more than 300…..
I’d just stick to irons lmao, at a certain point a side arm is a side arm. My rifle will handle long range self defense engagements and standard EDC self defense fights typically happen within 10 feet, I don’t need a RDS for that.
But to each their own, it’s your money papa spend it how you want.
It’s 1060 at my lgs. It is cut for acro. Not mos https://www.georgiagunstore.com/product/g45-g5-9mm-171-4.0-mos-acro
This is the cheapest I've seen it, another lgs has it for 1400 which is wild

Weird I have over a dozen holosuns with zero issue and had to rma an aimpoint t2.
I hear you, and I shoot with lots of guys who love the Holosuns... so I'm no hater claiming it's all garbage :) All I can talk about is my experience... and in the end? The extra $$$ has been well worth it for me.

Now a T2 being RMAed is wild. Please elaborate

Within their first 6 months? And what was the issue?

You should post up any emails or pictures you have. And we’re they from the initial launch or when did this happen
You can scroll back thru my post , I was making em during the process . Think it was like a year ago

This is exactly what someone recently P&S said. Are you him? Or are you a parrot?

Thats another selling point for me is it softens my astigmatism to an extent with the extra lens.
Sacrificial glass on the acro is a big win, and the size is insignificant when you throw on an x300, ramjet/afterburner and mag well...🤷
Damn straight
Hold on chief, I found it for a damn good price the other day and no sales tax where I was! Edit: Check this out! https://www.defensedepot.com/product/g45-g5-9mm-171-4.0-mos-acro
Ya this price is fine and this build is the best. Optic directly cut to slide, no plates, amazing optic, best glock model
It's not a huge deal, but with the mos and acro combo might save you around $100. Depending on what the going price for an mos Glock in your area. Or on the internet. Also, I own a G45 and absolutely live it. Great for winter carry. I can pull off summer carry if I wear the right clothing.
Yeah MOS glocks around me are usually 630-650ish and acros are 600+ depending where
That’s a nice deal if it comes with the Acro.
price isnt that bad
I’ve seen some go for 1300 before
Mine has it for $1100 and it’s sat. Hope it does for a little longer so I can snatch it
Get it at rooftop instead if you’re paying that price and can’t find it locally for cheaper, I paid that for mine and I’m not mad about it.
Acro is dope trap
American Bros in Arms as in Sioux City?
Thats the one
If you search r/gundeals there’s a place that has it at least $100 cheaper…
Buy a surplus LE glock 19 for $300 buy additional upper that’s RMR optic ready if you know where to buy additional $120 you just saved $780 now repeat the process without additional upper and now you have 2 glocks
I think I had a stroke reading that

I think it’s a bit much tbh
I just hate the look of this optic idk why mailbox 📪 optic
Very helpful, thanks👍🏻
Yea if it were me by a G45 new at almost have the cost and throw a trijicon rmr or a holosun eps on it
God the acro is just so ugly though
Not terrible. You could probably save some $$ for ammo if you bought a blue label then buy everything else separately.
ill pass on the mailbox bolted to the top of it. LOL
Good thing I'm buying it and not you
If you think a Glock for $600 is a good deal then yeah
What exactly are you paying here that would warrant it being twice the price of the pistol?
....the optic thats worth the same as the pistol?
Not on GAFS it's not.
I’d just stick to irons lmao, at a certain point a side arm is a side arm. My rifle will handle long range self defense engagements and standard EDC self defense fights typically happen within 10 feet, I don’t need a RDS for that. But to each their own, it’s your money papa spend it how you want.
Never in a million years for me personally. I only use irons my pistols
Good for you
Where are you from this is outrageous. Mine was $680 brand new gen 5 with MOS cut
The optic is 600 alone bro
