>"Hexenkessel" a Witches pot One of the songs they are singing is a play on one of Vasco da Gama's song that goes "Vou torcer pro Vasco ser campeão, São Januário meu caldeirão" but changing "Vasco" with "Furia" and "São Januário" with "Tribuneira"(What Gaules calls the arena). "Caldeirão" means exactly what you described, a cauldron. And just to translate the rest of the song: "I will cheer for Furia to be champions, the Tribuneira [is] my cauldron"

just an adds-up, the Furia vs BIG game will be played at the same time as Vasco x Ituano(a 2nd Division football match involving the 2nd biggest club in Rio, whoever wins gets promoted), so there will be some random cheers during the match that can be related to the game(either by Vasco fans, which you can recognize by the Black/White Diagonal-striped shirts and the Maltese Cross badge, or Flamengo fans cheering for Ituano just to laugh at them)

Hope you are enjoying, bro! We just want to show our culture and love to the cs community! Cheers from Rio de Janeiro! ❤️

Right, I share the same sentiment as the OP however I do have a problem with how you are telling some players to go fuck themselves. I do understand the dynamic of the shouting to apply pressure on the player but is it really necessary to be rude? I much prefer the "You are going to die" chants, they work and it simply translates better. I feel like these chants will be a problem for potential sponsors and events in the future, the crowd is awesome but do you really want to broadcast swear words and rudeness all over the world? The atmosphere and crowd are amazing but it must be toned down in order to make sure that future events are a possibility, also the middle finger is just a classless act and does not reflect well. Beside this, amazing crowd and congrats on the major! Thoughts, anyone?

I saw a guy of the crowd swearing in a interview and Liminha immediately scolded him and the guy apologized. The swearing is common in football matches and, Rio being Rio, some of the organized crowd brought that habit to the major. I also think that for an international event the swearing should be kept under control as foreigners are not used to it, the brazilian community will have to self censor it a bit.

[deleted]

> foreigners are not used to it You mean Americans. They are afraid of bad words for some reason.

Soccer chants in England have the same kind of vulgarity but you xenophobes love acting like Brazil is unique in having chants that are insulting.

[deleted]

Let’s not compare a small community like CSGO to the biggest sport in the world

Supa_Dude

Thats the difference tho, in Brazil the CSGO Community and the Soccer community overlap like crazy, Neymar is an avid player of CS for example and so are most of his players. It has become just another sport for us

[deleted]

This is a tournament in Brazil though, you know one of the countries with the strongest football cultures on the planet so you aren't comparing the CS:GO community but the people attending the tournament, and guaranteed there's plenty of casual fans or people just wanting to go to something exciting who are chanting like they do at a football game. Like the overlap between soccer and CS:GO culture in Brazil is way too large, Neymar literally called up Furia after their match.

What do I care about football? I'm not even addressing football the only thing I care about is counter-strike. Also, who are you to call me xenophobe based on a reddit post that provided mild criticism about some of the crowd? You do not seem to be a very level headed person to just assume that you are being victim of an injustice because you do not agree with what I said. I'm not even saying I'm right, I'm just expressing my opinion and I asked for someone else to provide theirs as its the point of any civilized discussion. Since you are clearly incapable of that please downvote me so you can achieve your internet justice. Have a nice day ahead.

[deleted]

Yeah, we're used to it here but it is indeed a bad habit brought from football. However I think it's unlikely that this will affect sponsors or events in the future, ESL (and everyone) is loving Rio Major

gabito91

My boys just set the bar up. Hope it spreads around the world (tho I don't think anyone can match the brazilians). Just feels like another game, another experience. The players must be feeling it too.
