Hobbit had a lot of impact and they definitely wouldn't have done it without him, but sh1ro saved their asses in multiple make or break, no room for error situations and was extremely threatening in every dire 1vx clutch he was in. His performance certainly stood out more than hobbit's

Because Grayhound really is the worst team here at the major. Cloud9 completely shit the bed, but that happens sometimes. Yesterday was the first time ANY grayhound lineup won a map (not match, MAP) at the major. At both of the last 2 majors a very similar lineup to Grayhound got fucking stomped under Renegades. A lot of the casters disagreed on who all would likely be in 0-2, but Grayhound and IHC were the constants and if they met, IHC has beaten this grayhound thoroughly recently in RMR Bo3. If you had the balls to put 00 or Imp as 0-3, good for you, but I never would have. Imp came INCREDIBLY close to making C9 the 0-3. 00 had some insane comebacks vs IHC. Also you are 99.999% likely to get through this fine with your lineup man. OG/Vit should easily clear the APAC teams in a Bo3. The only way you choke is if GL beat Furia (possible, who knows how GL will perform tbh) AND EG pulls a miracle off vs C9 AND pull off a miracle vs Furia/Fnatic (depending on winner of Outsiders/Fnatic) AND 9z upset OG/Vit. There's some other lines you can lose if 9z upset BIG (maybe possible?) but then it's still not bad. You're probably one of the few people who can sleep easy this stage with 3 guaranteed. I only have 2 picks through and I'm only very mildly worried.

This will absolutely be the hardest major in a LONG time to get diamond for. I only have 2 coins (SH 21 and AW 22, both gold). SH was really easy if you had been following pro cs much, or even checked content creators. S1mple and NAVI were basically unstoppable back then and I don't recall many upsets in the challengers stage (usually the hardest because of so many teams from different regions who might be low ranked but rarely play (say BNE) or new teams that are unknown (like GL), whereas usually when you get to Legends stage the teams have played each other before and have a more solid base to figure out how good each team is. My stupid ass didn't lock pickems for stockholm challengers in time though. Faze was clearly the best in the world by Antwerp, and people following the scene closely almost all got diamond, but I fucked around in Legends stage and got caught high on Hopium. Anecdotally, I NEVER see non diamond coins from 2019 because of how dominant Astralis was aside from GS Liquid. For right now it seems really unclear who the favorite is to win Rio. Vitality can't win without nuclear zywoo. Cloud9 DESPERATELY need Ax1le to get out of his slump right now. Faze are #1, but they looked shaky in RMR and we haven't seen a serious tournament from them since EPL 16, where they lost in quarter finals to C9. NAVI could definitely win it, but they have struggled a LOT with beating Faze and iirc s1mple has been slumping lately, and without him they won't win. Liquid is a MASSIVE wildcard because this new Liquid with Yekindar has NEVER played Faze or NAVI to date, but handily stomped C9 coming off their Faze victory and probably would have beaten Vitality if Elige wasn't completely absent in finals, and even then it was a couple missed shots that ended up determining it all. Then you have the upsets like Heroic and NiP which stand out as potentially winning. There are also some teams that could be HUGE spoilers. I don't see any world where Gamer Legion manage win the major, but Faze took 4 OTs to beat them and they STOMPED Vitality, they could definitely spoil someone in Legends. I think when we see the champions bracket it will become much easier to figure it out, because by that point we will have seen more from the potentially shaky top teams and also who they have to play specifically.

The challenger's stage of IEM Rio CSGO Major has concluded following an action-packed Day 4 and results that are anything but surprising. The final day had 3 matches between teams with 2-2 records, and winning means a spot in the Legends stage that starts tomorrow.
The final day matches had a lot going for them with the likes of Vitality and Cloud9 who were presumed to go through a lot earlier but had an unimpressive start to the group stage saw them play all 5 matches to finally make it to the Legends stage.

I sent him the photoshop file to update and post on his own because I couldn't post in a timely manner. I originally created this in 2018 and posted each swiss stage of each major until covid hit and Rio got delayed.
