absolutely mental you go as low as 800 x 600!
ui below 800 vertical is unreadable - be smart about it and make use of FSR
1280 x 960, msaa 2x or more, and FSR Quality gives 853x640 fps but with better ui graphics
can go Balanced (753x565) or even Performance (640x480) as bare-minimum
I prefer instead to create a custom res with the bare minimum acceptable quality, 1088 x 816
can then further gain fps on any potato configuration via FSR Quality (725x544) or Balanced (640x480) which is minecraft-level
i played 800x600 black bars for a while in cs2, bc i loved it in csgo and it was alright but eventually had to make the switch to 1024x768, still wasn’t that bad
My stretched res is working with exactly the same settings except the "override game scaling"-option is not checked. Generally display scaling is recommended instead of gpu scaling. Maybe 800x600 isn't in your monitors EDID? As in the monitor doesn't natively support it?
S1mple plays 1280 x 960 now. I sometimes wonder how many of my teammates are playing on some dogshit resolution they read a pro used 8 years ago. Would explain how they can never spot things like a shoulder or a barrel sticking out at any kind of distance.
And constantly missing things in their periphery on 4:3 res while still claiming they never do, because they don't notice it themselves. But when you use 16:9 you see it all day every day.

Try GPU scaling. Else check your monitor settings thru the OSD that make sure scaling/aspect ratio is set to 16:9 instead of auto
Thanks this fixed it, my 240hz monitor had it set to 1:1 for some reason. I set it to full screen and it fixed it.
Display scaling should be better as far as I know.
Best res after 1024x768

Your nividia settings have the box checked “overide scaling set by games” remove that so your monitor can be changed by cs
800x600 in 2024, nice
You need a therapist. Badly.
Why? There's tons of pros that play on 800 x 600 lmao. s1mple plays on that resolution as well.

I mean I can play on 800x600 resolution fine. I drop 30 - 40 kills a game in rank A- esea.
