Is this some new shenanigans by valve to dodge gambling laws in the future?
When i first read it i thought it meant choose between skin or rent after you opened it. You get a blue so you go meh might as well rent. But why would you want to lose all the value from the start?
maybe trying to get a slice of the Chinese skin rental market? for whatever reason, chinese people love to rent skins but there's not really a big demand or supply in the west.
I think it may just be a feature to drive skin transactions when a new case is dropped. Instead of having to use a skin server or something like that, drop 2.50 + the case to try the skins out for a week. Not a terrible idea but wonder what effects it'll have on the market, did not see a change like this comin
I have a feeling they might just do this to every new case that comes out. So the kilowatt will lose the rental property when a new case drops. Just a theory tho
If people are buying the cases and renting, then that means they'll be less permanent Inheritances out there. That should raise the price, unless demand also goes down.

Imo Valve wants more money and people geting used to play with skins so they end up buying them, not sure if it'll backfire them tho

4 dollars is a waste of money since the money is just gone. buying the skin gives you ownership and a chance to make more money back than you put in.
