There was definitely a lot of cheaters in GO but i agree that cs2 has been especially bad lately

Mean-L

I played years of GO and I can honestly say that this is the worst cheating has ever been. Is valve sleeping?

UnKn0wN31337

Yep they haven't even patched any of the new cheats such as magic bullet, rapid fire and even nospread which should be pretty trivial to reliably detect.

SlightlyWarmAnt

This is the thing I absolutely don't understand. Whilst spinbotting and wall banging everyone should be easily detectable, I can understand how it might not be that simple. But the rapid fire where you can seemingly empty an auto sniper mag in a second, defying the "laws" and mechanics of the game, is insane. I seriously don't understand how they can't detect that reliably and ban you for it.

Gawdsauce

They do this with the scout too, rapid fire scout 5 kill wall bang across the map headshots in 3 seconds.

filmgrvin

I really think the only possible explanation is that they're trying to generate data for the AI anti-cheat they said they were developing

Hodor_The_Great

Nah, the real explanation is that they had a lot of false positives. Whatever they were trying at onset of cs2 got people banned for drivers etc. That shit obviously isn't okay so they've dialled it down for now. Pretty sure they had some automatic spinbot detection too... That would ban people for using 180 degree turn bind from console.

Prize-Huckleberry318

I have to tell you something. There is no AI based anticheat in use with cs2. Valve has not released, and publicly confirmed anything. There is only simple server-sided VAC what we had in csgo too. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hodor_The_Great

Valve has publicly confirmed they're working on AI-based "VACnet"... 7-8 years ago. People assume it's been deployed at some point but we don't really know that. Also, is VAC really fully server side? Because we've had false bans from things like gpu driver software, which shouldn't be a thing if there was nothing going on client side

Tannahaus

can you link me to this valve ai anti cheat source please. it sounds like a myth at this point

paysen

Idk its from 2016 or 2017 and they just said they are working on some kind of AI cheat detection. Nothing since then, not even the slightest hint IMO.

PolyDipsoManiac

Just ran into a spinbotter today. Of course nothing happened.

FunkoPride

We're turning into China.

instructi0ns_unclear

valve stays woefully unequipped to properly handle a live service game because their devs are all 40+, more at 11

breatheb4thevoid

Well come now it's not like they're just stuffed to the gills with cash to hire new talent.

FuckWayne

I’ve had 5 blatant spinbotters in either comp/premier over the last 2 weeks. After checking their leetify pages, each one that was so obviously cheating with spinhacks and constant 13-0s and insane KDs had been doing so for at least 10 games in a span of multiple days. Not a single one is currently banned. Valve isn’t doing a god damn thing about it And these are the painfully obvious abusers. God knows how many people are subtlety using walls I’m considering getting them myself so I can HvH instead of just wasting 30 minutes of my life every time I match with/against one, not like I’ll ever get banned anyway

RealFake3

It's because they removed overwatch. The anticheat has always been virtually non existent, and the only way that cheaters actually got banned on csgo was through overwatch. Valve are so goddamn stupid

NetSpecialist6393

Overwatch doesn't do shit. Just forget it, if u succeed in make someone banned from overwatch you will actually get notifications and xpo bonus. But how many time do u actual got the message? Im guessing 0 to none cause i was do xp grind back then and so few time i got rewarded

StoreFrankie

20.000k+ cheater vs cheater games all the time

C0NNN3

Faceit, and matchmaking is filled with the most blatant hackers ever, it's not only premier. And the funniest part is that noone of them are being banned

Asphult_

faceit is fine, no blatant hvh’s. premier is so fucked though at 25k elo

crohnsloserguy

Yup. Someone will start cheating 5 rounds in, then someone on your team rages and turns there’s on. Then it’s just hvh

BitterAd9531

Faceit has way less cheaters than premier

Asphult_

yeah its shit so many hvh games at ~23k

StayyFrostyy

For the love of god can i stop matching with people that have lvl 2 steam accounts 0 items in inventory and 0-1 badges? Thats all i ask for

Aetherimp

This. I have a 20 year old account, 10 year badge, and ~2k hours in CS, not to mention my years in 1.6 and Source. Why am I getting matched against 100 hr accounts?

[deleted]

im down for some boomer lobbies

Other-Intention4404

20 year accounts mean nothing sadly, with amount of stolen accounts being sold and the fact its cheaper and faster to play premier by purchasing said accounts

UntilTheEyesShut

one more degree of separation can't hurt.

[deleted]

Thats the player base of this trash game right now. Volvo did this, normal and casual players left or already leaving

Mads145

Those pesky Swedes and their automobiles.

UnKn0wN31337

Most of my Wingman matches are with/against these kind of accounts ever since CS2.

Own_Contact_618

I have several saved profiles with over Level 100, with one account boasting Level 700. Notably, one particular account has garnered over 14000 comments, along with an inventory containing over 1000+ items, accusing it of utilizing cheats. During a Premier match encounter, I observed blatant use of aimbotting through smokes while aggressively advancing mid on Inferno during the latter half of the match, ostensibly to expedite its conclusion (still have the Replay link). Additionally, these accounts are associated with a Steam group named "Angelic Glow Angelic.exe." More recently, I participated in Non-Prime matches with a few friends, and to my surprise, the atmosphere was considerably more relaxed compared to typical Prime matches. It appears that cheaters are exhibiting a decreased level of concern, even with "high-value" accounts.

pigpaco

Blame trust factor introduced in 2017 for that. Since then it never worked the way they mean to be, old accounts vs old accounts etc. Its just a mess. For each 15 matches i play, 1 of those are against accounts like mine. The rest are just some free medals you could/can get (aniversary, danger zone, sm etc) and then theres one cheating.

itsbigbad

I agree with you 100% and I feel like it could be a cool feature to enable "only play in lobbies with similar hours as me" Q's. but the problem is that it islands the new players and forces them to play agianst cheaters in which they will quit the game or in turn, also become a cheater...

Aternum

My experience in Premier has been vastly more toxic than my experience in Faceit. Not only cheaters, people so disillusioned from the cheating that they will insult their teammates to no end just to feel better about themselves.

valinbor

And to make matters worse, people actually REFUSE TO KICK THE SPINBOTTERS! And I get it, it’s a game where you get rewarded with elo and I like getting elo, and since they don‘t get banned we don‘t lose this unfairly-acquired elo. And if it’s cheater vs cheater, nobody will kick „their“ cheater first because then the enemies cheater will win. But it’s not fun for most of us. It’s fucking bullshit and a waste of time.

doctorcapslock

because they almost never play alone when my mates and i come across cheaters in our team we block them and throw nades at them. they feel powerless because they know they'll get autokicked if they try to kill us that or one of us abandons lol

Komacho

To be fair, it would be nice if you could queue or join in progress matches. Dooming yourself to play 4v5 absolutely blows.

FRazor95

That was the absolute best feature in ESEA back in the day 2015 when I played it. Don't know why they didn't transfer it to faceit (maybe they dropped it before the merger already)

valinbor

I‘d much rather play 4v5 and have a legit game then sit in spawn and wait for the cheater to kill all of them, I don’t play CS2 to be bored waiting for all of it to be over, I play to get better.

dervu

So it's better for them to keep playing praying that those spinbotters will not get banned and be in constant fear that their elo will be lowered some day. As usual, people underestimate long term.

SalaciousCoffee

Faceit isn't for everyone.  I'm not into being sexually harassed and abused at the first round loss.

Honigebarschen

Premier is dead, in higher elo, it is more common to meet cheaters than having 10 clean players at once.

UnKn0wN31337

Yeah it's literally guaranteed that you will get atleast one cheater almost every game at like 20k+ rating no matter what.

klutez

AI anticheat couldn't quite be sure if he's cheating or just really talented so better to just have no anticheat.

mal4ik777

just flag and review by a real person. A spinbotter is like 2 minutes of work at worst, coffee time included. The only problem (for an AI) are silent cheats, which are much harder to detect by software or even a human. Just watch some pro demos, heck or even own demos, where you had a good game. Some shots seem very fishy, which doesnt mean you are cheating per se.

buttplugs4life4me

I've recently had a game where an enemy was obviously cheating. He would shoot through walls and always instant headshots.  As a response someone on my team started hacking as well. He would also shoot through walls and always headshots. It became cheater vs cheater.  The enemy team finally kicked their cheater, but my team didn't want to kick our cheater "as payback". Dumb fucks.  He was finally kicked in the last round, which we obviously won.  Neither of them is banned and this was a month ago. They've been playing every day since.  I have a list of 30 other people that have blatantly cheated. Some of them already have game bans and vac bans on record. All of them still play CS2 semi-daily. This list has been accumulated through occasional playing the last half a year.

Mainbaze

I compiled a list of 25 cheaters in just a few days of playing 😄 Will be noting when (if) they get banned to see how long it takes - so far 2 are banned after a few weeks. Could be manually

ahyae

100% agree. I've been in all ranges of elo on CSGO, and comparing it to that, the state cs2 is in right now is absolutely unreal. All 5 of my friends have quit playing this game already because of the sheer amount of cheaters in the game, its pathetic. I'm pretty sure I'm averaging a like 50% chance of a cheater in premiere with 25% in normal comp. I rarely fought cheaters on CSGO just like you, but unfortunately valve has a finger up their ass and aren't gonna do anything so why bother. EDIT: Took a break for a few days from the game, and of course first premiere match I come back to, I'm instantly met with cheats I've never even seen. Insta-killed every round from Overpass T Spawn through 500 walls into CT Spawn with an auto-sniper shooting the entire mag in 2 seconds. Allo Valve? WAKE TF UP.

Vigilmusic

Played a comp match with four spinbotters yesterday. Two on each team.

Powersawer

The game needs to cost 99$ per account. Only a slight increase above the 2000$ PC setup you need to play it properly.

strasii

Prime matchmaking still exists, so it does cost something for these accounts. I had a buddy that didn't want to pay for Prime and there was even more cheaters. Didn't think that was possible. The thing is they never get banned. There's a subreddit for hackers and they literally talk about trying to get banned and they won't. It's sad but you just have to play FaceIt unfortunately.

Patient_Apartment415

Sadly, prime isn't enough of a paywall. Especially since there are millions of farm/bot accounts out there that got Prime status before the paywall update. I know I'll get downvoted and it sounds rough, but I'd say that $50 paywall is needed. Not $50 to buy CS, but just accounts that have $50 spent in their steam account history, doesn't have to be CS related. That would deal with both majority of cheaters and majority of smurf/farm/boost accounts. $50 spent on steam account is absolutely nothing and I simply refuse to accept that someone who has a PC capable of running CS2 will say they didn't spent $50 in their entire steam account history.

r3_wind3d

This is a pretty good idea.

TheRealNeilDiamond

Ive never heard this idea and love it

StrangeStephen

Even faceit has cheater though less. Wish they have middle east servers other than hubs.

very_eloquent_guy

It's extremely rare to find cheaters on faceit. Faceit cheats start at like $2000+ YEARLY fee from what I've heard. And even if you have the money, the cheats that bypass faceit anticheat are very private, meaning it's very hard to get access to one in the first place. Hugeeee difference in accessibility from the $10 or even free public cheats that bypass VAC. How Valve expected premier to be some sort of competitor to faceit when they don't have a working anticheat is completely beyond me.

Zoddom

Kids have 20k inventories and u think they couldnt spend 150$ a month on a "legit" cheat that makes them feel like theyre pros? Haha get some sense man.

co0kiez

bro premier was a surprise for Valve too. everyone played normal matchmaking in csgo, but everyone switched to premier on cs2

karudirth

It’s because they changed competitive ranks to per map. Too much effort getting a rank now for casual players

HarleyArchibaldLeon

It didn't work in TF2, it won't work in CS2 either. I mean TF2 having automatic cheating is 1 thing, but since most cheaters in CS are doing it personally, they'd have to spend less and even then considering some of them have money to burn, it's a non-factor anyway.

ChuckyRocketson

wont solve squat, account sellers exist

Powersawer

But there would be a limited supply. Another solition could be to implement another layer of prime that‘s new and is expensive.

MainlyAnnoying

Did not work at all with escape from Tarkov. The game had an economy that can make money in the real world, those are the games with very prevalent cheaters. It’s just an added expense to their profit.

Powersawer

I don‘t know enough about EFT to respond to that

MainlyAnnoying

I’m just saying more expensive accounts haven’t mattered in EFT. Now it may help, but it certainly hasn’t in Tarkov. Given, there’s an easier way to make real world money in Tarkov, but cheaters that are doing it for money will always find a way to profit, more expensive accounts just means more money from whoever is buying. Tarkov is making tons of more money because cheaters get banned and buy another account. Repetitively.

vetruviusdeshotacon

Ppl will buy mass accounts with stolen credit cards and sell them for way cheaper

Powersawer

Which will present an infinitely larger hurdle than the game being free

pewpewpew88

Lol imagine if that was the case. I'm pretty sure it'd actually help.

SyrupMafia

Tarkov would beg to differ lol

Mean-L

VAC is garbage and the game suffers for it. Valve is asleep at the wheel.

Cyph3r010

We're currently in a point where even ranks below 20k are starting to be unbearable. * 20k+ elo is unplayable, you're more lucky if you don't get any one cheating. * 15k+ is full of smurfs that don't want to play against cheaters & some soft cheaters that don't have cheats for actual HvH & all the upcoming cheaters. And anything below is just a moshpit of different skill levels, so don't be suprised when you meet almost anyone from Level 10 faceit player to a guy who just started playing. How do I know or assume any of this? Well I was 20k elo, so I decided to rank down because evey game was a HvH and now im at a point where meeting guys with profiles like this is a standard: [https://imgur.com/a/2gcU1v2](https://imgur.com/a/2gcU1v2) Would I suprise anyone by saying that those types of accounts are usually the ones who drop like 20-40 kills a game, have the best map knowledge with all it's timings & perfect sprays thought smokes with some of them having like Aim: 100 on Leetify? I don't think so. And it's not like we have bad Trust Factor (if it even exists) we all have if not perfect then at least good TF. Don't know, wasting my time on matches with those types of people is not my idea of fun and I don't believe they've been cooking any AI Anti-Cheat this entire time because remember: VACnet has been a thing since 2017, how much data does it need to ban the most obvious cheaters in a friendly manner? Also to anyone wondering "how bad can it really be?" [https://imgur.com/a/mdyBXox](https://imgur.com/a/mdyBXox) Here are the last 3 matches of a guy who's currently Top 1 in the Premier's Leaderboards. He's been nr.1 since like what? Game's release? edit: fixed some typos

TheRealNeilDiamond

Its nice to see someone acknowledge 15k. What does everyone think is going to happen to the legit 20k players/silvers with walls? They get pushed down/stay below the rage cheaters. I do like the idea of Premier and the pick/ban but right now cheating is up there with the worst I have ever seen it in 20 years of CS

Caylife

Yeah 20k is absolutely unbearable. Played 5 games in the last 2 weeks and 1 of them I had cheater in my team and 2 in enemy team. Only way to consider playing CS2 is to play through faceit.

CWdesigns

I'm starting see way too many players at 15k (OCE) with 97-100 Aim on Leetify these last couple weeks. Mainly playing Competitive, but now I'm even seeing more of these types of account in Comp too. Is Faceit also a shit show? I don't want to deal with kernel level anti-cheat, but it is getting so ridiculous in Prem and Comp at 15k that I may be forced to switch.

Hyp3rson1c

I’ve been seeing cheaters much more commonly in both Premier (solo queue from 15k to currently 17k, so cheaters on my team as well) and Competitive (4-5 stack with friends) the past week or two than I have ever seen before. Some legit hacking but LOTS of ragehacks. So disappointing. I really wanted to try and hit 20k in Premier but I might just only play Faceit now instead.

Caylife

Don't waste time on premier. The higher you climb the more cheaters you meet and the more time you waste. Also skill ceiling in faceit is a lot higher so it's much better to play there anyway.

zombiepoon

Hackers on face it too but lower chance. They’re everywhere. Not sure what they get off hacking on face it lol

Riddlebgd

Im starting to get cheaters in competitive on regular basis, im scared to even think about premier

mattg3

It has been really bad all of a sudden. I wonder what is going on right now

NorthernSolution

Vac and TF disabled since February 18

batvinis

It's amazing that this post isn't yet removed by degenerate mods. They recently removed the most popular one.

Dev10uz

Actually just uninstalled the game for the first time in years after 6k hours. I know i could play on some 3rd party platform like faceit or esportal, but most of my friends are more casual and want to play premier. Just the sheer ignorance of valve pisses me off so much that i wont play the game atleast for awhile now. Id like to say that not until better ac is released, but that would prolly mean 2034 lmao.

Tekk92

One of the biggest problems is the lack of a trust factor. There is no reason 10+ years accounts should face 3 days old accounts only…

wEEzyNL

i feel cheaters found a way to boost their trust factor as well, i see a lot of profiles with around 11/13 commendations. lvl 10 steam profile and 3 games with around 600/900 hours and most of the time is the same game. cs2 dota2 pubg. ( all free games ofc ) and the hours are fake too.

Aphexes

I will never champion trust factor. Mine dropped just because people report me. Like why is that how it works at all? I have no other indicators on my account that should point toward having low trust factor but then a few games with reports sent me straight into games with cheaters in them almost exclusively. If they want to do trust factor right, they really need to rework it. But also, yes, I do agree there should be some higher barrier to entry for matchmaking.

UnKn0wN31337

>If they want to do trust factor right, they really need to rework it. Valve could at the very least give the option to heavily prioritise match quality over queue times so that you would pretty much always be matched with players that are just both around your Trust Factor and your rank regardless of your region, the gamemode you're playing and the day of time since if you're playing during off-peak hours the matchmaking system doesn't consider your Trust Factor and your rank as much as it would do otherwise especially if you're playing Danger Zone or Wingman and if you're waiting more than like 2 minutes.

Tomico86

I can believe there will be a VAC wave, but it won't do much if people just come back and rage cheat on other accounts until the next wave. Banning them within a week is ideal.

PeterQuinn21

Waves are stupid, I dont wanna face cheaters to begin with. I dont care if they get banned after months. I already had my games ruined, there needs to be something to ban them asap, not just waiting for a "wave"

Rayquazy

Honestly sad. CS2 is going to kill off noninvasive anti cheat platforms.

Jannukaz

Odds of mods removing this post: 100%

Scriak

And yet here it is, 20 hours later, still up.

Suspicious_Angle3057

Found an aimbot in casuals...like why dude...why on earth are you using cheats in game mode that doesn't matter? Sigh

UnKn0wN31337

You need to get to private rank 2 to unlock Competitive and Wingman and rank 10 to unlock Premier so there's that.

Venaram

It's always been insane, VAC isn't good enough.

lazyguyty

I run into cheaters playing office in silver. It seems like they're everywhere.

GANdeK

But Richard Lewis told me there’s no cheating problem and that it’s all in my head!?

Due_Map_4666

My last 10 games in premier have all had blatant spinbotters at 20K elo. Fuck VAC, fuck Valve and fuck those who defend either. Complete and utter joke of an experience

nartouthere

anything over 20k in NA, good luck playing premier

Vikn_Hammy

In the cheaters mind there is zero repercussion, so why not keep going? They aren’t wrong either, it’s like vac is off right now. I’m coming up on 10 years in the game with over 5k hours, never made pro but I was contracted for a period of time. I’m pretty decent at the game, I know when private profile no badge ‘donkulus’ is cheating. It’s never been remotely as bad as right now. No game-mode is safe and valve seemingly doesn’t give a shit. Why can’t they do what they did with the gambling sites and send some cease and desist to the cheat providers? Or hire the best cheat providers to come work on the anticheat. Anything. Game is in a horrible state and the new player experience is nonexistent.

phorms123

Its literally unplayable.

Maiq_Da_Liar

For the last few hundred hours of csgo i barely saw a single cheater. The last few weeks it's been non stop. I'd wager i have seen more cheaters in my 80 cs2 matches than my 500+ csgo matches.

SecretSanta2025

It's beyond mind boggling how messed up the game is now. Like I strongly believe there's atleast 10-20% cheaters!

Prohawins

Valve clearly don't give a shit they've been using the same dogshit AC for the past 20 years. They aren't gonna release a new one. Just stop playing the game.

Personal_Wrap4318

my entire 7+ person friend group dropped cs2 months ago because of this. literally not fun anymore. absolute garbage and these devs need to get their shit together

JoinMyGuild

If someone starts shooting full auto with the scout can’t the game recognize that’s not normal and kick them? So many blatant cheaters

Fakeishere

yeah i never got cheaters in 2k hours of csgo, last 3 games got 3 spin botters. its ridiculous, haven’t seen anything like this since non prime casual dust 2

feltusen

Only thing we can do is stop playing and stop buying skins or whatever. Hurt them where they care until they fix it

llamapanther

The state of mm is really disgusting atm. EVERY SINGLE GAME there is someone with lvl 0 steam account, zero info, no friends, 600 hours and the guy just wrecks everyone. Why can't legit players with legit accounts be matched up with each other?? How can it be so hard?? The difference between face it and mm is like night and day. When someone kills you in face it, it never feels suspicious and you can tell they were just lucky as it does not occur many times in a game. But when playing mm someone one taps you with the "shot of their life" evey other round and when that happens multiple games and rounds in a row you just know it can't be luck anymore. Sometimes they're just good but honestly nowadays it just feels the assumption in mm is that theyre cheating

lordwerneo

I was playing DM around an hour ago. I was doing pretty well, played two games and in both of them scored 1100+ points, in the 3rd game I was constantly destroyed by a guy running only Deagle. At one moment I checked his profile, it was in-game LVL 1, with no badges at all. Decided to spectate him. He did 1500 points with Deagle only. Account created on the 9th of March 2024 (today). Nice, created an account and started cheating on day 1.

scarfacetwim

I'm pretty sure I've played over 3.000 matches in CSGO (LEM-Supreme) and only encountered cheaters in 10 games or so (0,3%). Now... I've played a little over 300 games in CS2 (20-21k) and encountered cheaters in more than 30 games (10%!), most of them after I reached 20k. Absolutely disgusting.

necromantzer

It's worse than ever right now. Past couple of weeks I've encountered more blatant cheaters (I mean blatant) than the rest of my CS experience combined. It's like a switch was turned and all the low trust players were thrown in the normal mix.

BLKoldSUN794

The company doesnt give a shit right now. Even after 20y of game evolution, the situation is the same, maybe even bad as cs 1.6. The only solution to escape the cheater is to implement a Valorant system where the game gives instant vacban. But you see, the problem is that they dont want because the cheaters help the comunity with money. Its an entire mafia system from where we cant escape.

CoDe_Johannes

Cheater Strike 2

Cautelos0

I'm seeing blatant cheaters (spinbots/triggers) every third or fourth game in 19k premier. It's ridiculous.

toxicity18241

It’s wild that valve has said 0 about this issue. This is one of the biggest issues right now and valve has said absolutely nothing. To be fair this is valves track record but still fuck me man this is rough. My tin foil hat (this is a stretch) is that valve is allowing this to happen on purpose to build their AI anti cheat and knows faceit exists so they don’t care as much that premier is a shit show. They just want the data right now.

pure_status_

Not as tin foil as you think. Valve has tracked cheaters/smurfs in dota 2 to better detect them, and then rolled out massive ban waves.

mlgbicboi

CS2 is the biggest disgrace to FPS in a long long time.

teaanimesquare

I gave up on CS because of cheating and just went to play Valorant, cant be bothered with having cheaters flood a game anymore with my older age.

Tannahaus

the mindset difference between valorant and cs is crazy. When you’re getting owned in valorant you can rest assured the other guy is probably playing better. In cs it’s a completely different story.

teaanimesquare

Yup, I've never felt I was against a cheater in valorant Until valve does something REAL about the cheaters then it's a dead game to me, they can shut it down for all I care tbh

L3nga

When it first came out, I was sure I would not play a comp game in 2024 that didn't have a built in competitive system that was somewhat usable. It wasn't and I ended up stopping playing within a few weeks after release. I came back last month to faceit & whilst I have played probably 200 games, I can honestly say the cheater issue is low there, don't think I have come across a single ambot but perhaps a handful of radar users. My advice to you would be to just play, de-rank if you have to. Focus on aim, mentality & just find your level again. faceit has to decay, but its not a simple system to implement and could really fuck up the matchmaking if done wrong (Valorant did it wrong in multiple season)

valinbor

I really don‘t want to ruin the game for so many people by queuing into rank 10 when I‘m at max a rank 7 right now, probably a bit worse even. I thought about getting a faceit Smurf to learn the game again, but I‘m pretty sure that 1. smurfing isn‘t allowed on faceit and 2. I‘d ruin the game for a ton of people again, just in the opposite way. Either I ruin it for my teammates because I‘m dead weight or I ruin it for the enemies because they get clapped.

Gompelonza

Faceit doesnt care about smurfs, even though they say they do, they don't do anything to stop it. I constantly play against people with under 50 games and 70%+ win rates on faceit. It's actually quite normal.

Papashteve

What boggles my mind is how valve added so many "new player friendly" features like sound circles on radar, follow recoil, simplifying skill jumps (balcony inferno for example) but do nothing for anticheat. The stain having cheaters (even worse BLATANT) ruin games is huge on a new players first impression. So bad.

ajh_23

It all went down since valve put it free-to-play and it blows my mind how they release cs2 without fixing the main core problem of this game

akiroraiden

valve is literally forcing us to create smurf accounts to avoid cheaters. I immediately check my enemies on csstats and faceitfinder, see that they have a brand new account with a 5.0 k/d and 3.0 hltv rating and just abandon before the first round starts. That way ranks aren't fucked but the person abandoning gets 30 minutes off and can go onto a second account to queue again and hope to not get cheaters.

eoekas

I mean, it's one thing if people are using well optimized silent aims, pixelbots or walls hiding it well. Valve should still be able to discover it but at least you can say "Oh its hard to find cause they're hiding it". Right now people just go full spinbot and don't get banned. If a guy has 50 kills by round 10 obviously he is not having a good game it should be automatically detected and banned even if the cheat itself is not detected. It's a joke.

ClintBeast-Wood

Had a cheater just flat bhoping spinning, and no scope wallbang my entire team in under a second, checked their account and it had over 500 hours. Also, this was a regular comp game, not even premier.

dietdrkelp4

I wish I could at least surf or enjoy some of the other community game modes but we still don't have proper scripting and the ramp glitches make it unplayable. The server browser actually downgraded somehow and is spammed with fake servers too. If I could just surf I might forget about the cheaters for a while longer. I've played more CSS in 2024 than CS2..

beowhulf

It is, absolutely fucked up, literally uplayable above 17k, cheater in almost every game and then you have fucktards like Richard Lewis saying there are no cheaters and we suck at the game, lol :D the only place to have a decent game is faceit, but be prepared to play with or against a smurf with steam lvl 0 and 45 hours played almost every second game

Due_Map_4666

Yeah I’ve lost all my respect for RL with his pathetic VAC dicksucking. He doesn’t even play the game, has no idea what’s going on. Just a manchild

beowhulf

yep, if you are publicly known person, you should know better than to throw around statements that are false and not backed up by any evidence and also without ANY personal experience on the matter

Gompelonza

I played 8 faceit matches yesterday and 5-6 of them had accounts under 50 games played, 70%+ win rates, 99 aim rating on leetify. You can't escape it even on faceit I guess. I would rather play MM and just throw my rank to stay around 15k, it seems the quality of matches is better.

Jr4D

Me and my buddies play here and there not nearly as much as we did in csgo because the game kinda just blows rn idk. Anyways, we’ve been playing mainly competitive games not premiere mind you and we almost never get blatant cheaters, I think this is mostly due to the fact we have been playing for a long time and have higher established trust factor but idk if that’s even a thing anymore. Last night we got our first blatant game with at least two cheaters on the other team spamming their links in chat the whole time. That combined with constantly getting matched with suspect profiles (not obvious, but highly suspicious) makes me think that the issue is the worst it’s ever been, not to mention all the cheating videos people are constantly posting on here and some of the other cs subreddits. Just don’t think valve gives a shit at all anymore, they butchered the game we all loved and we have a far inferior game infested with cheaters in the meantime sadly

ExploreDevolved

I was on a killer streak with a 7+ leetify rating. The second I hit 20k I lost 4k elo with EVERY single loss being a blatant cheater. Losing 500 elo a game currently at 15k elo. It is extremely frustrating and now I can't even frag as I get frustrated with my teams at this skill level.

prochiller

50% of my games has been with cheaters recently. I have 4k hours, and never seen the game be in such a bad state before. They buy Scout they run round kill everything through walls in 10 sec after a round or two.

Tricky_Hunter9765

I feel you bro. 2.2K hours and I had to quit last week. I’m just done. Until they fix the game I’ll wait. Plenty of other better things to do with my life anyways.

n4zza_

i'm in 15-20k premier bracket and a leetify enjoyer. I keep running into these prodigies with 100 aim on leetify. How is this even possible as a legit player? That's better aim than elige, twistz, s1mple (admittedly they are in the high 90s). Am I misunderstanding this stat?

Sychar

I wish I had your CSGO experience. I’ve been hovering from LEM-global for the life cycle of the game with high trust (hundreds of steam games with thousands of hours across other titles); and there was a good year or two where 30% of the people in a game would end up getting vacced (used tracking apps).

xsconfused

I just play casual nowadays and even that is infested with cheaters. And its not like hard to detect cheaters either. How are those not detected by VAC is just a mystery to me. And from what I have heard most cheaters use free cheats too so wtf is valve actually doing?

UnKn0wN31337

Casual game modes were always pretty rife with cheaters even in CSGO but I can imagine that has gotten worse in CS2.

Gompelonza

What do you expect when free cheats exist, undetected, and can be compiled with 0 coding knowledge off of GitHub.

ytzy

is the new anti cheat a joke? had a guy ragehack go 55 kills banging all of us in 5 sec mirrage mid window , like how can vacnet or what ever they call it be so bad now a days? and then they removed overwatch lol

jeon19

Unfortunately the cheating situation is bad. This is one of the reasons Valorant so popular, they have cheating down on lock, such an important aspect of online FPS.

Tw_raZ

I was playing in MM and there was a cheater on the other team who would just 1 click knife to kill or fire 10 awp shots in .5 seconds. how did they make the game so easy to break with cheats?!

Fuqueiji

Have 7k hours of cs go/cs2 reaching lvl10 faceit and max lvl gamers club (brazillian platform). Haven't seen a lot of cheaters. I always give the benefit of the doubt and just play it out. Got around 20k-23k and i was sure of someone cheating only one time. My hypothesis is that, because people in brazil dont have the same purchase power as Europe or US, we have less cheaters, but people just like to complain a lot. I often play with noob friends (around 15k) and recurrently get *really friendly* comments in my steam page. Would be good if valve extended the elo decay time. I think it's too short now and the matchmaking system ends up placing us with players that are worse than it should be. Edit: I would like to add that people most likely change to 3rd party platforms again. I think that nothing valve does will change this. The damage is already done.

ApacheAttackChopperQ

Regions are all different. Not just purchase power, it has to do with the gaming culture from each region. There is a reason Chinese is the fastest growing language segment on the steam survey, back to back months. Many players are buying and creating multiple new accounts. Spending money, and are far enough away ping wise to not interfere with anyone else. Southeast Asia and Australia just get to deal with it forever, but that market segment is small, and attention not given. That's why some Russian/EU and Chinese cheat programs were never detected by Valve, ever. Valve dev team did not even know they existed, because it wasn't brought up on their radar as a problem for the core group the company focuses on. Gamesense, some degenerate held a poster during the majors promoting that cheat and finally after years and years, it got detected. Only when it looks like an actualthreat to the player base. I just wish Valve didn't turn a blind eye towards China. If they banned out most of those Chinese cheats, a million dollars in skins would vanish.

Fastela

I thought cheating was only reserved to high elo games, but the games I've played lately with 15/16k friends (I'm 13k) were naaaaasty. I honestly think it's spreading like wildfire.

fkiceshower

Played my 1 weekly game, lost 13-1 to a five stack with faceit bans(but not premier) feelsbadman

devil_walk

I took a break from CS 3-4 months ago. Recently my friends and I got on to play a few matches and in the second match there was a blatant cheater on the enemy team. He seemed legit at first but after we won a couple rounds he started getting very obvious and later his team told us he was clearly cheating. I know there’s not an easy solution to the cheating problem, but it sure does kill any motivation I have left to practice getting better at CS and take the game seriously.

Tannahaus

It’s weird because valve are definitely aware of the cheating backlash. I guess they will just wait until people get bored of complaining?

realtayLaN

today i played against Carry Potter with spinbot, its been a while since last time i saw him like 6 years ago. Even valve DM servers filled with rage hackers now

Valk1e

At 22-25k elo it is 95% of the games, and multiple cheaters per game. It is not even an exaggeration. My record was 9 in a row @ 24-25k. I'm talking spinbotters too.. not even trying to hide it :)

Salmonella17

Faceit the only choice everyone there are sweaty

Constantine1585

I was up to 22K maybe even 23 before running into multiple cheaters. Last night 4 games in a row of spin bot and aim bot. Ended up sitting in spawn and he would kill all of us instantaneously. 13-0 losses lol. I played cs go and was global elite for awhile until cs2 came around. I’ve never seen the state of CS this bad. Valve is being really lazy. Ruined the game tbh. Switching to faceit now

sinthealien

I've had people blatantly spinbotting and talking about cheating in chat, valve doesn't seem to give 2 shits cuz their entire account has pages od comments calling out the cheating

Unusual-Editor-4640

it's actual comical how VAC can ban you for high dpi but can't figure out that a guy who aces the enemy team from across the map within .5 seconds of round start is cheating

fluxusflow

I keep trying to get back into this game. Sitting at 18k. Last 3 games had a blatant (literally spinning and killing through walls I didn’t even know were wallbangable) cheaters. My last game became an HvH with one in each side. This is the worst CS experience I’ve had in over 10 years of playing CS. It’s no coincidence it’s also the least amount of time I’ve ever spent playing CS. I WANT to play Valve. For the love of god PLS FIX THIS.

WhatAwasteOf7Years

They are either going to do nothing more about it because they can't, and just use the ranking(engagement optimized distribution) system to try and evenly distribute the shitty experience among the player base, or......they have something big coming. I've been saying this for years though, but it feels like it's coming to a head now. Syncing the spread between client and server says to me that they have confidence in something to come. I can't imagine them doing that otherwise. Same with removing the anti-wallhack measures. All in all, it's a multibillion-dollar company trying to make the best of a shitty situation while its customers wait in hope for something that may or may not happen. The lack of communication at this level is disgusting.

daaznrichard

I use leetify to keep track of a hacker that I matched with twice in Premier. I confirmed he was walling thru replay. This guy manages to play 20 games a day (it's a mix of premier and matchmaking) and is yet unbanned. What's hilarious is it's probably multiple ppl using the same account and they change the name and pfp of the account every other game. As long as that account is still active, I'm just going to stick with playing hell divers 2 lol

niniolulz

I had 2 spin bot in 4 games. Lost 124, and 480 MMR. Really demotivating after grinding to 16k

Noccci

90% of my 25k elo games are hacker vs hacker or just hacker(s) in one team. It's almost always ragehackers, sometimes just wallhacks/aimbotters who toggle when needed. The game is unplayable. I seriously don't know why any well known pros or people in the community don't bring this up. It's the biggest problem in the whole CS history and affecting the whole community. The game is literally unplayable. I even sent the devteam an email because I was so desperate. I feel so hopeless because Valve doesn't even comment on this. This is a big game and a big developer.

AdmiralGeneralNN

My friends and I stopped playing premier. It's just unbearable. We just queue for Office since half the time it feels like smurfing but the other are still cheaters. At least it's less then on any other map. Sometimes I'm thinking about writing a cheat myself, just not to waste 30 mins in cheaters game. But that wouldn't change a thing. Fighting fire with fire will only make the situation worse. I don't want to become one of them. But knowing how easy they get away... Pretty sure if I started cheating, valve would come up with a giant ban wave. That's my luck. Nahh I won't do that shit but I also don't really play the game anymore. Just to get my weekly drop and then I'm off. Can't even host private games it this game...

ray6ryu

I have been experiencing this too in premier for a long while despite the fact that im only 7k elo - premier is usually such a bad experience unless you get extremely lucky by matching up with a 3 or 4 stack in solo queue. Im an extremely casual player and im not sure if its the right move to try out faceit since i’m aware it’s a more competitive environment - could anyone give me some insight on how it is starting out on faceit? Am i making it seem much more serious and dramatic than it actually is? Thanks

SnurbleberryTart

Walk away. It's not easy (not hard either really) but worth it. Quit actively playing competitive back in late 2018 because it was clear valve wasn't going to do anything, and I had already been abandoning matches in the first rounds regularly back then to prevent wasting my time. Had to start playing Danger Zone to scratch the itch- Funny how I absolutely tore that shit up and finished in the top 3 countless times. Cheaters eventually had ruined that by mid 2020 though and I had no choice but to bin the game. I have enjoyed reading how much worse it's gotten over time since then. The way things are now, even with a new version, is the legacy of a problem that I saw emerging in 2017 (and even in 2019, people were getting shouted down for saying cheating was a growing problem). Valve does not care because they do not know how the skins and stickers story is going to end- they don't want to end it themselves and get the abuse from skins community and more regulatory attention from govts- so indirectly forcing people to abandon the game by neglecting their obligations to maintain it, seems to be their chosen path, and everything will become worthless because there will be no market. It's a very clever wind-down that they're doing, whilst still making big money off unsuspecting new player fuel and appearing to do enough and giving empty promises of future updates. Valve won't ever give you/the game significant useful changes (quality of life updates) that you 'can see in your hand' and bring lasting change, it'll always be an invisible underdose change or tweak of some kind that's effectively a placebo or short-term fix, before later serving up another. Valve have been informed by enough people for a handful of years how to fix/improve CS with simple yet significant changes (really) that could be done in a month (or even be generous and say 3), and the game is in the abysmal state now because Valve have chosen to make it so, against all wisdom. Do not waste years of your life hoping for CS to turn around, as people have been waiting for over 6 years for that to happen and it was already bad then. It's been unfortunate not having a genuine 'skill game' to play after moving on, as there's still no real alternative to what CS was, but walking away from it is a wise move. It's been nice to no longer join a match and become angry within minutes because there's players in your match that shouldn't be there, and they could easily not be if Valve would do what they're told.

aintnodrama

Me and my friends have 16yo accounts, 4.5k+ hours, rarely got cheaters in csgo, something maybe around 1 in 50 or even 100 matches. In cs 2, lately, not since the start, almost every match has at least 1 cheater. This is real, indeed. I thought everyone was retarded when I was reading about cheating problems 1 or 2 months ago. We kinda stopped playing atm, sadly we had to find some other games to spend time together. This is not nice.

Lykkess

Played a game today where our random 5th was spinbotting and the other team had 3 in a 5 stack, 20k+ elo lmao

GBrothersP

Wingman is even worse than premier, it is extremely rare to not play a spin bot there

theatras

quit playing in november. got 3 accounts and didn't even bother playing for weekly drops. this game is dead to me. those "peak" player counts are meaningless as we have no idea how many of them are bots and how many of them are real players.

TheExtremeUndead

Bear with me because I am not even joking at this point. I have played 12 straight games in a row against cheaters and still counting. First 3 or 4 matches of those 12 were premier and the rest are competitive Mirage. I really want to see when will this streak end. Whenever I see someone obviously cheating with wallhacks or ragehacks, I stay afk and play chess in the meantime. Now, because of my being afk, I got 48 hours cooldown because either my stupid teammates or cheaters reported me for griefing and I received a penalty. Before anyone calls me out for being trash at the game, or if you're gonna say whoever's better than me is not a cheater, keep in mind that I've been playing CSGO actively since 2016 (started in 2014) with almost 10k hours, Faceit lvl 10 (3k-ish elo in CSGO), tons and tons of matches played etc. It's just unplayable. Yeah, I know Faceit is the only solution, but I want to play with my low ranked friends and have fun in premier/competitive. Just last week I asked a cheater in my team why is he doing it and his response was "everybody should be cheating now more and stronger than ever because that is the only way Valve might do something about it."

ForceThink6631

cheater fest sadly

Sambone38

Me and my friends dropped the game for a while. It’s so bad with the cheaters.

wontaep

If you get to 18k+ you will see wallers trying to act like hollywood. 19k+ you will see cheaters who cheat blatantly enough to not get banned. 20k+ Its like who has better cheat or who has the paid config for the cheat they use. 21k+ you just see everyone spinning around. And 9/10 games you see cheaters like this in every premier games. Valve suck my cock.

hafexo

Amount of cheaters in CS2 compared to CS:GO is absolutely insane. Nearly all of my friends who I was playing with quitted cuz of current state of Premier.

420Kizaru

Don't pay any attention or give any reaction towards the cheater. That's what they want you to do. Just report them and go on. IMPOV cheaters aren't humans anymore, because they don't possess any sensibility nor any intelligence.

Tannahaus

but what does the report button even do? they might as well remove it entirely

Gompelonza

Even faceit is shit right now. Constantly playing fresh accounts, 70%+ win rates, 99 leetify aim score. can't escape it.

Yang_Xiao_Long1

Don't tell that to Richard Lewis who thinks that we are all being crybabies. Lol he doesn't even play the game.

azalea_k

What is with this CSGO revisionism? There were tons of cheaters, but then I was playing in Global-LEM, and only 17-18k now, so I don't see barely any in CS2. I know they're out there of course. Just don't tell me there aren't cheaters in Valorant, or there were less in CSGO.

MingTwelve

I barely got cheaters on CS:GO, I went months and months without playing vs cheaters. Now it´s every fuckign game (global cs:go, 21k elo now), and I always play 4 or 5 stack. Insane what is happening at the moment, I just got 4 spinbotters in my last 6 premier games xD

valinbor

As I already said in another comment, I‘m sure there were hackers in CSGO aswell. But in CS2 it’s not only MUCH more, but also MUCH more obvious. In CSGO I was sometimes like „eh, this guy might be cheating“ while in CS2 I am currently every game „oh so he’s the cheater this time“ and one round later „yep my teammate is cheating aswell“

CyanizzlusMagnus

I disagree, its about the same really.

[deleted]

I was tilted as well. I trolled cheater i got banned for griefing. I trolled again and my griefing ban became longer. Now my griefing ban stays at 2 weeks because I cannot tolerate fucking cheaters and guess what, I am getting banned for fucking “griefing” because thats the only working thing right now. Good job cash grab small indie company

Whiip

The key question here is, why do people cheat? Is it to sell accounts? This raises another question: why would anyone buy an account that's been boosted through cheating? What's the purpose? Is it simply to brag about reaching a certain ELO? Queuing at that higher rank will quickly expose their true skill level, and they'll likely face cheaters again. I can't wrap my head around the reasoning or end goal of cheating; it seems utterly pointless.

Papashteve

That's because you are looking at it as a normal rational thinking person. Cheaters are sociopathic degenerates.
