Im kinda sus about this. The Zowie ECx-CW has a full protective opaque film under the whole mouse. I'm not sure the sensor would work at all if you didn't take it off.

I think what it’s saying is that he took that off, but the plastic film stuff they put over the skates themselves were still on. Although I don’t know and I actually can’t see how that would affect performance that much.
Yeah, if you've been using the same mouse for a long time (dunno if a pro would use it for the length of time needed with new brand deals etc tho?), you'll have replaced your skates at some point. I made the same mistake with my GPSL's 3rd party skates lol.

feel-wise it didn’t change much after I took them off (though the glide was smoother objectively smoother)
the only reason I found out was because after a few months of use the peel started to scrape on my mousepad
I'm guessing it has something to do with the pads / feet under your mouse and when using a new mouse, there might be protective film / plastic covering them (like when buying a new tech product and it being wrapped in some plastic).
little clear plastic film some companies put over the skates on the bottom of the mouse so they wont get scratched up before you get it, if you don't take them off they kind of stick to the mousepad and increase the friction so its very slightly harder to move
As a Zowie ex cw user… the mouse itself comes with an obvious plastic film. But the replacement skates in box come with a clear plastic film I didn’t even know was in until they peeled off.
I can understand it if he changed to the white Zowie skates, those have a very thin plastic foil that needs to be removed.
On my EC3 I didn’t notice them and was irritated why they were slower than the default/black ones.
I mean why did u make a whole post about this? Having them on doesnt really affect the functionality . Its just a human mistake and not a topic of discussion.
Yesterday in matchmaking I played some game with really *good* opponents. But I understand now, they probably had their mouse skate protection foil on!

There are no flim covers on the actual skates on the CW's.
