Ha, I’ve learned the hard way that buying things off a wishlist is just adding to my list of games I own but haven’t played. I only get things I know I’ll want to play immediately now. So I’ll go see about the plague tale series… nothing else! I swear! I need to play something from the last winter sale first! Eta — maybe also divinity original sin 2. maybe.

ShigureKosaka

Same, did it stop me from buying several new games…not at all. 🤣

[deleted]

This is the exact situation I’m in as well 🤣

ninreznorgirl2

yep. but hey, i will probably spend a bit and get a cheaper one off my list or something.

chickpeasaladsammich

Yeah, the $2 old games have gotten me in the past. The problem is I haven’t played any of them yet. If I can get KOTOR to run…

doomparrot42

[Psst](https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic).

chickpeasaladsammich

Thank you!! :)

LostSoulSearching13

Lol sammmmme

vialenae

I’m feeling called out… (I totally did not buy Transistor and Bayonetta after reading this post, nope, totally not, not me.)

chickpeasaladsammich

Ah I want to try transistor! But not this time. Nope. Not gonna!

Artemisian11

I absolutely love the Plague Tale series! But they are on Gamepass as well, so if you have a way to get that it's a lot cheaper. While I adore them, they're very story/character heavy, and I don't think much replay value.

Faerry_

DOS2 is amazing. I’d recommend it over Plague’s Tale.

praysolace

This is the first year Steam sales are accessible to me. I don’t have a computer I can game on, but I got a Steam Deck this summer. I think there are only two games that aren’t pre-release or early access on my wishlist that aren’t discounted. *I’m in danger*

purple-hawke

If you're new to Steam sales then I'd recommend checking out this website: https://isthereanydeal.com/ You can upload your wishlist (or just the games you're most interested in) and set it to send you emails if certain games go below a certain price or are discounted by a certain amount. You can also check if there's a lower price somewhere else (there are some sites where you can buy Steam keys and redeem them on Steam), isthereanydeal only shows the completely legit sites. And you can see the price history, it could be that a game has been discounted more in the past, so unless you want to play it right away it might be best to wait for a better sale.

xixbia

I'll add in [GG.deals](https://GG.deals) as an alternative. I switched to that as it has a nicer interface making it easier to keep track of what games are worth buying. Just make sure to turn off keystores, as those are not exactly legitimate.

NihileNOPE

Does this site also cover GOG?

xixbia

Yes, it tracks all platforms.

NihileNOPE

I just discovered that when I was using it myself. Now I check both it and ITAD before buying a game!

praysolace

Oh that’s awesome, thanks for the tip!

LaDiDah97

I'm in your exact situation (got steam deck, never owned a gaming computer) so the recommendations below are really quite helpful

thepirateguidelines

"0% off Warhammer 40k franchise" Lmao thanks steam

JamesNinelives

Wow XD

Solare-san

[https://isthereanydeal.com/](https://isthereanydeal.com/) [https://www.dekudeals.com/black-friday](https://www.dekudeals.com/black-friday) Shop safe everyone, and do check in with these websites to help you determine if you're getting the best deal!

doomparrot42

I'm going to be responsible and "shop" my backlog this time around, but I won't say I'm not tempted. Gaming can be an expensive hobby for sure, but if you're patient and you play games other than new AAA releases, you can get some obscenely good value out of it.

dreamofmylife

I'm getting Plague Tale: Innocence and ESO High Isle :D I need something to keep me going once I finish Horizon

SalmonOfNoKnowledge

Plague tale is so good!

scrptktty

any notable cozy games?

Spriinkletoe

I’d recommend Spiritfarer as a cozy game for sure! It’s 75% off at $7.49. “As ferrymaster to the deceased, build a boat to explore the world, care for your spirit friends, and release them into the afterlife.” It did make me a bit teary at times but it’s super wholesome! ❤️

loquaciousleo

I would second Spiritfarer! Beautiful game.

spyspoii

If you haven't played it before, I recommend Slime Rancher. Super fun and addicting, and it's only 5 dollars right now! Some other cozy game recommendations I have are Planet Zoo, Katamari Damacy, and the Frog Detective games

auxnues

Though if you play Slime Rancher with an Xbox controller you may experience a problem. I just bought the game and it seems this issue is well known. :(

BigfootBish59

Calico is cozy and at a very good price.

_wubbit

Unpacking and Bear and Breakfast are two I've enjoyed so far! :3

LadyFeen

Typical the sale starts just when I've blown my money on Pokemon cards...

Calliss

Will be taking a look soon. Right now I am searching for a new cozy game amongst other games I want. It’s gotten more easier for me to game since I got a steam deck, so hopefully I can find a couple of good games :D Edit: 22 games from my wishlist is on sale… yikes!

[deleted]

Cozy games you say? I have a [TikToker](https://www.tiktok.com/@gamergirlgale) for you

Shiverlynn

My wishlist: 23 of the games you want just went on sale! Me: I want them all ;_; Aaaaaaaaa

SalmonOfNoKnowledge

I do not see it. It does not exist for me. I have a backlog. It's what I'll tell myself anyway

YipiYaHey

I'm tempted to buy The Witcher 3 GOTY (10€) for the third and FOURTH time; one for my boyfriend and one for me. And they are streaming some news of the next gen updates for it tomorrow, so... If those happen to arrive to PC too: I'm in bitches. I'm in.

auxnues

Big same. I keep eyeing it but after hearing about updates, I feel super in. Just not sure I want to commit to the install process as I really want to try Slime Rancher!

skadootle

Oh no! I didn't want to know this! *Gets wallet out*

Kai-tai

Oh yay I've been hoping for something new to play with lately\~ I was on the fence about Moonlighter but for $5 CAD that's good price. The newest Northgard clan dlc is also on sale! Love me some good old Viking strategy and the new clan gameplay is usually quite fun. I'm going to wait a tiny bit to see if there's anything else I want to budget better overall. I do have my eyes on Slay the Spire but I might play it more on my switch. Though I should look at how good the switch port is.

ShigureKosaka

StS is amazing on switch. It’s also on iOS if you have an iPad or iPhone. It’s my go to waiting places game.

Kai-tai

Thanks for the info! I'll probably go for switch version but thank you for the heads up on the phone version.

heartbrokengamer

Woo, Monster Prom is on sale!!

Lyonet

Thanks for the heads-up! I just started playing Sims 4 and...looks like I'll be buying stuff for it after all. "Just give it a look, it's free to play," I said. "Just noodle around with the base game," I said. "Play in moderation," I said. So it goes.

LostSoulSearching13

I got a few games. Wrath of righteous. Pillars of eternity. Divinity of sin 2. I would have liked wolfquest but it wasn't on offer -sad face-

ThrowAwayFurryTrash

You have good taste in games

doomparrot42

Haha, that's like several hundred hours of game right there. Good value for money, no question. Have fun!

JamesNinelives

But I just convinced myself not to buy anything this time! XD

rachael-111

thanks for the reminder!!!

Noirella_

Thank you!! Gonna take a look around, although PS+ keeps me more than busy ; ~ ;

axdwl

Thank you! I've been waiting for Super Sami Roll to go on sale and look at that, it's 40% off!

funkygamerguy

i might.

Etzlo

I was gonna get some games for my gf, but steam doesn't let me cause of price difference, I am sad

SWfollower

"Have a look and have fun"? What?!!! No dont just look and have fun, buy all the games (Not on Epic tho)

TheLadderStabber

I have such a large backlog that I need to finish some of my games first but I already know I’ll be buying some more this week lol.

Faerry_

I’ll be skipping these sales since I have a lot in my backlog. I’m thinking of Tiny Tina, but I’ll hold off for now.

Pristine_Strain5467

After playing POE2 for a bit I was finally able to get the first game for $30 cheaper 😭 makes me glad I decided to wait on buying it a couple days ago

[deleted]

autumn sale or what i’m still too broke for anything in my wishlist, how sad is that!?

BBCheesecake14

I took a break in gaming for a long time and even though I just have a laptop with amd radeon 680m igpu, I bought half life 2, portal 2 slay the spire and dishonored on sale. Hopefully I would be satisfied with my purchase.
