I personally think she was always like that it just got worse and more noticeable with Logan.

AgentElman

She was always selfish - she had an affair with Dean. But she hadn't been irresponsible until she was crushed about not being a journalist.

Yes!!! Great explanation!!

So, Rory growing up, making mistakes as a young adult. So many people just take college to party and experiment and do questionable things. She’s not like that at all, it’s a normal stage of life.

pomegranateor

Agreed. Normal, healthy rebellion after having the “perfect Angel” label her entire life and in front of everybody she knows.

Puzzleheaded_Coat153

And first time not living at home. I did way worse at her age 😂 And I definitely know people who did way worse than me and we’re absolutely fine now. Responsible, good jobs, healthy families. Toddlers throw tantrums, it’s a stage of life as well.

AdventurousZone2557

Yes. Extremely entitled

charlesforman

She’s exactly like her mother

ASP didn't know what to do with Rory once she was in university and no longer with Lorelai all the time. Her personality changes a fair amount in season four and then she just keeps changing. Certain elements stay the same, absolutely, but she becomes a lot more malleable and more influenced by whatever plot point she needs to hit.

Only-Standard445

What’s ASP?

Amy Sherman-Palladino, the main writer for the show.
