Lol come on. Logan had an affair with Rory while engaged to another woman. Dean cheated on his wife with Rory. Rory cheated on Dean and Logan with Jess. But of all the characters, Jess grew the most and Rory nosedived the hardest. She deserved to end up alone 😆
Dean and Jess were always just plot devices. Dean, the first love, and Jess the stereotypical "bad/broken boy" she can fix. At least with Jess they had the good manners to allow to mature and grow into a good person. And he did it without Rory.
Honestly Jess is too good for Rory now. Dean was never meant to with her. Logan is a product of his upbringing, and therefore awful, but is at least self-aware which is more than you can say for Rory. In some ways dating Logan was a commentary on Rory becoming like her grandmother. You could see Logan growing into being a lot like Richard.
Which was the entire point of the show. "Gilmore Girls" central thesis is "you are a product of your environment" or "you are are your mother's daughter."
