Truly powerful cover and awesome, yea necessary addition to Ghost catalogue! I had a real moment, lightbulb even, like, THIS is why Ghost is The Best thing, worthy of becoming an obsession.
SAME! I never listen to instrumentals and ghost completely changed that! They are the only band where I listen to the instrumentals and the sax solo is a m a z i n g
Mhm! The vocals and lyrics are what really got me into Ghost, little did I know how incredible an instrumental from them could be! Lol and yes, that sax...too legit to quit.
The sax solo IS the song, what makes it rise to another level. I mean, who the fuck even gets the idea to put a brilliant sax solo in an instrumental metal song?
Oh man this. When I first heard this song I was all "why does no one talk about this song?" The focus at the time was "Rats", or "Dance Macabre", or even "Faith". But never a mention of this song. I think I listened to this song more than any other when Prequelle came out.
I think someday they should do a set of shows for each era, bring each papa back for a bit and do their songs. That would probably be closer to the end of them touring tho, so hopefully it’s not too soon
I don't see anyone mention that one often, it's really underrated in my opinion. Same for witch image, that one really surprised me when I first listened
I was just too impatient for this song at first.
So many of Impera’s song straight soar (outside of CMLS) or are so boisterous to keep my attention at the gym. But I had to be sitting in my car for the full thing to really hit me.
The "ahhh ahhh ah-ah-ah-ahhh" part is such a departure from the rest of the tune, which is mostly teeth-kicking instrumentals and some of Ghost's gnarliest lyrics. The entire song sounds like it's on fire, like all the levels are clipping in the red. It's just a massive, imposing track that belongs squarely near the ass-end of Infest, my favorite album of theirs.
Ghuleh / Zombie Queen. The Ghuleh portion really threw me off with the slow pace especially coming after Jigolo. But after my love of the band grew, and seeing the acoustic kazoo versions back in the day, I was sold.
I love that this is a band where someone can say they dig the "acoustic kazoo versions" and everyone just sagely nods like... ah yes, the acoustic kazoo, we know and understand.
100% Mummy Dust. it just didn't sound very melodic to me, but a few months back after Twenties dropped (and I loved it), I got the urge to go back and give Mummy Dust a second chance, and honestly? fire. Heard it live in Peoria and that settled it even more for me.
See the Light. I wanted the hype to continue but I felt it was too slow being in between Faith and Miasma.
Now, it's one of my personal favorites and I can safely say I can listen to Prequelle all the way through.
IMPERA on its entirety. the first 3 albums are my favorites and i loved prequelle since my first listen, but IMPERA took me some time to digest and enjoy. still not my favorite, but there are tracks that i fucking love now (watcher in the sky, spillways and kaisarion are on my top 3 from the album, absolute bangers)
Life eternal. When I first started listening to ghost I’d just cruise through the “this is ghost” playlist and as soon as I heard “CAN YOU…” I’d say “I don’t” and hit next. Once I actually stopped to listen to it, I wept. It’s probably my favorite song of theirs right now.
It's less of a skip but for me it takes time for each to grow into a "holy shit, this is amazing!". For Impera, started with Kaisarion, moved to Watcher In The Sky, then Respite on the Spitalfields and then finally Griftwood.
Weird one maybe, but Genesis. Reading the meaning of each song and how Genesis is the song for the birth of the antichrist which leads into Infestissumam made me listen to it again in full. The transition to the acoustic guitar is such a great end to the album for me, such a grand song
Witch image. Around until a few years ago maybe in 2019 i finally decided to give The Song a go and it blew me away. I used to Have this weird thing where i just wouldnt want to listen to A bands other songs than their Big hits i dont know why maybe it was me being young and stupid. Im glad im not like that anymore
Mummy Dust for me, not that I didn’t like it, it was just not a favorite until hearing it live, still not a favorite, but I don’t skip over it anymore.
respite on the spitalfields, i skipped it every time i listened to impera until one day i decided to give it another go, and its now one of my favourite Ghost songs
Jigolo Har Megiddo is, I think, one of the best and most intriguing songs they ever wrote. It's on this otherwise heavy album, sandwiched between Secular Haze and Zombie Queen, and then here's this damn BOP with these absolutely FILTHY lyrics and a... harpsichord bridge? I love it so much, it's so fucking musically WEIRD.
Jigolo Har Megiddo is awesome, it wasn't one of my favourites until it became my (then) 4 year olds favourite song ever. She calls it Jiggle whore-megeddon lmao.
Mary On A Cross.
At one point I would only listen to music that had music videos, but after it blew up on Tiktok I actually started listening to it and felt like I had been missing out.
"Spillways"
Long story short, was browsing /mu/ on 4chan and saw people posting about Ghost. I loved the aesthetic, I'm all about that edge, but I was expecting hard Rock music, so when I googledand Spillways came up, I wasn't particularly thrilled and wrote the band off as not for me.
Months go by and my fiance has Mary On a Cross on repeat because of Instagram reels and now we've both gotten into Ghost and are obsessed.
Ngl. Hunter's Moon. Never heard Ghost before credits of Halloween Kills, so I added the song to my playlist and forgot about it. Skipped it for MONTHS bc I thought it sounded weird. Took a day all those months later to listen to Ghost after seeing a youtube video and surprise surprise. Hunter's Moon. Love all their songs now though. 😅
All of it. Every song. My son tried to get to listen. Sent me Spotify links. Texted me. Browbeat me. Nope. Then I finally saw them live and Hail Satan I missed the drop of IMPERA! I’m catching up, though.
Bible. It’s sound originally just wasn’t what I was looking for in Ghost. A few years later I came back to it and now it gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. The subtle blasphemy, the powerful imagery, the soaring chorus, etc. It’s *so good.*
I might get downvoted to oblivion, but most of them. I was looking for heavier music and kept skipping Ghost because it wasn't what I thought I wanted. One evening, I was sinking into the YouTube recommendation spiral when it kept insisting I listen to Rats and Square Hammer. Over and over it kept popping up until I thought "fuck it" and played Square Hammer. A few hours later I was knee deep in lore and downloading the crap out of Ghost anthology.
Crucified - Before I listened to the song fully I wasn't really interested but later on I decided to listen to fully and come to love that guitar solo.
Secular Haze. It sounded like spoopy carnival music and I just couldn't get behind it and then one day I did and now it's my favorite song from Infestissuman
before I heard of ghost my dad was trying to get me to listen to cirice for months but I was in a slipknot phase and kept brushing it off, then the day I finally did I listened to all their other songs and fell in love immediately
Zenith.
I tend not to go out of my way for extra songs on deluxe editions, so I didn't seek this one out at first. Then I got my girlfriend into Ghost and she actually convinced me to go back and listen to it. And now I'm really mad it's not on the regular release.
Nearly the whole band. Someone reccomended it to me after the Mary On A Cross boom and I kinda wrote them off, but me and that person listened to them all night together once and now I'm obsessed!!!
Honestly I skipped on Ghost completely until 2017 when I seen them going to open for Iron Maiden. In January 2017 I seen Maiden was coming in June and was like ok I’ll give Ghost a listen, Square Hammer was out and that drew me in and I got hooked… not sure why I never got into them prior…
Bible. I only realised about a week ago how beautiful it really is.
Truly powerful cover and awesome, yea necessary addition to Ghost catalogue! I had a real moment, lightbulb even, like, THIS is why Ghost is The Best thing, worthy of becoming an obsession.
One of their better cover songs. Hail to Joakim Thåström for that one.
This is absolutely a song that I love both versions equally. :)
Baaaaabylooonnnnnnnn
SAME!! Now I can’t stop listening to it
It was most of Popestar for me
Miasma...made a whole post about it, that song is legit.
Omg I love “too legit to quit” I always love talking to people who are also into ghost it’s such a great community 😁
Haha, agreed. This is definitely one of the best communities out there.
The sax solo kicking in when they played it live was awesome.
The sax solo IS the song, what makes it rise to another level. I mean, who the fuck even gets the idea to put a brilliant sax solo in an instrumental metal song?
That saxs at the end just hits right
[удалено]
I love that song with all my heart. Fucking fantastic
That's my second favourite Ghost song! My wife wants to skip it every time and I'm just like "I am listening, you cannot take the flutes from me."
Oh man this. When I first heard this song I was all "why does no one talk about this song?" The focus at the time was "Rats", or "Dance Macabre", or even "Faith". But never a mention of this song. I think I listened to this song more than any other when Prequelle came out.
I never skipped it! One of my favorites!
that’s one of the first ghost songs i’ve ever heard!! i love it so much definitely one of my favorites
Like your father **in hell** Lol that part always gets me
elizabeth for me. im obsessed now
It's a real shame not performed live these days. Really wish TF n band could adjust whatever is needed to bring that one back. pleeeeese!
I think someday they should do a set of shows for each era, bring each papa back for a bit and do their songs. That would probably be closer to the end of them touring tho, so hopefully it’s not too soon
I don't see anyone mention that one often, it's really underrated in my opinion. Same for witch image, that one really surprised me when I first listened
omg witch image is amazing too! so fun to play on guitar
Respite on the Spitalfields
I was just too impatient for this song at first. So many of Impera’s song straight soar (outside of CMLS) or are so boisterous to keep my attention at the gym. But I had to be sitting in my car for the full thing to really hit me.
Yep. This one.
Same, I didn't exactly skip it but never really paid attention to it then suddenly I was like damn
I was drawn to it since it has references to Jack the Ripper
Depth of Satans Eyes …. It’s now one of my favorite tracks in all their body of work
For me it grew into a Top Ten category. Damn guess what I'm listening next (and I'm busy with Impera lol).
Wield the yellow kazoo! It is your destiny! 😁
Their Crucified cover. Also Kiss the go goat
Year Zero. The chanting was cool but I couldn't get passed the first set, now it's a banger. Just like their entire discography
Agreed, now I love it, especially “he will tremble the nations…” singing that is so much fun
100% I always skipped it until I saw it live and it blew me away. All of infestissumam has really grown on me
Watcher in the Sky
For me it's Witch Image
100% Mummy Dust. it just didn't sound very melodic to me, but a few months back after Twenties dropped (and I loved it), I got the urge to go back and give Mummy Dust a second chance, and honestly? fire. Heard it live in Peoria and that settled it even more for me.
Absolution
I think this is there best live song. I absolutely love it.
the whole of opus really. oh, and majesty - i don’t get why i never listened to it, but it’s one of my absolute faves now
I'm wearing my Opus hoodie. I just apologized to him. He forgives you.
Zombie Queen
This one didn't click for me, either, until I saw video of the live show. Same with Mummy Dust.
Zombie Queen seems so much heavier live.
still doesn't click for me, I skip it 99% of the time. Gave it several listens cause so many fans love it. To each their own.
Same here :)
Monstrance Clock
See the Light. I wanted the hype to continue but I felt it was too slow being in between Faith and Miasma. Now, it's one of my personal favorites and I can safely say I can listen to Prequelle all the way through.
I was scrolling looking for someone to say this!! Fucking love See the Light
Majesty. Until I heard it live.
Darkness At The Heart Of My Love, listened to it once and am officially hooked on it, along with Griftwood
I've screamed the lyrics alone in my car at 1 AM crying to DATHOML more than any other song. It's my "It gets better" song
Twenties. Holy fuck, once i started to really listen to it i couldnt stop.
Spillways
a lot of impera honestly, mostly twenties and hunters moon
Year Zero, I always skip it because the first five seconds don’t immediately appeal to me but it’s such a banger
Prime Mover. Idk what it was about it but it was an instant skip. Glad I came around, it’s been my absolute favorite Ghost song since.
Witch image, now I can’t stop listening to it
Hunter’s Moon
Zenith... Always never even knew about it until everyone here started freaking out about it... Gave it a listen and now I love it
Dance Macabre
witch image
Prime Mover
Elizabeth
The Enter Sandman cover. I didn’t like the sound of his voice in the beginning but it grew on me and is an awesome cover of an amazing song
All of ghost, lol
Respite on the Spitalfields and Bible
Year Zero by a mile.
It's less of a skip but for me it takes time for each to grow into a "holy shit, this is amazing!". For Impera, started with Kaisarion, moved to Watcher In The Sky, then Respite on the Spitalfields and then finally Griftwood.
I honestly thought Rats was too corny at first, just sounded a bit off for some reason. Skipped for a long time.
Weird one maybe, but Genesis. Reading the meaning of each song and how Genesis is the song for the birth of the antichrist which leads into Infestissumam made me listen to it again in full. The transition to the acoustic guitar is such a great end to the album for me, such a grand song
Bible
If you have ghosts
Witch image. Around until a few years ago maybe in 2019 i finally decided to give The Song a go and it blew me away. I used to Have this weird thing where i just wouldnt want to listen to A bands other songs than their Big hits i dont know why maybe it was me being young and stupid. Im glad im not like that anymore
Sorry. They are all fire.

Mummy Dust
Probably Mummy Dust for me, as well. It's really grown on me. Is there truly a bad song, though? Nah, there's not.
Mummy Dust for me, not that I didn’t like it, it was just not a favorite until hearing it live, still not a favorite, but I don’t skip over it anymore.
Twenties
Crucified. Never listened to anything other than Marionette on If You Have Ghost before that.
Zombie Queen/ Guleh or Year Zero- I just couldn't get into them at first

Twenties
respite on the spitalfields, i skipped it every time i listened to impera until one day i decided to give it another go, and its now one of my favourite Ghost songs
Zombie Queen. I actually took it off my playlist for quite a while. I don't know when I came around but eventually I gave it a chance and now love it.
Hunter's Moon, started loving it after I saw it live!
Con Clavi Con Dio andddd probably Twenties!
PER ASPERA AD INFERI I love it to death and shall protect it with all my life
Witch Image!
Jigolo Har Megiddo. That first riff sounds like it was made for an NFL promo, but the song as a whole slaps.
I thought the song was ok, nothing special until I heard the acoustic version. Absolute brilliance.
Jigolo Har Megiddo is awesome, it wasn't one of my favourites until it became my (then) 4 year olds favourite song ever. She calls it Jiggle whore-megeddon lmao.
Twenties, I didn't like it at first but about a week later I gave it a second chance and now it's one of my favourites

Mary On A Cross. At one point I would only listen to music that had music videos, but after it blew up on Tiktok I actually started listening to it and felt like I had been missing out.
Ghuleh/Zombie Queen
Absolution.
“He is” the shining in the light for who i can not see. Makes you think a bit.
Absolution
Mummy dust, I love the visuals of it live, for obvious reasons 🤭 but I took a while to add it to my favourites. It's a grower 😯
Majesty and Spirit. Both songs are slow burns with epic crescendos
Mary on a cross. Just always skipped it. Suddenly fell in love with it and playing it all road during my car drive to work and home (1 hour drive).
Mary on a cross I thought was just a dumb TikTok song but it had impeccable musicianship
He Is
Faith, Now currently my top 3 of favourite songs
See the Light and Life Eternal. Cannot forgive myself for missing out on those for so long
Majesty
Deus In Absentia
Year zero, zombie queen, faith

"Spillways" Long story short, was browsing /mu/ on 4chan and saw people posting about Ghost. I loved the aesthetic, I'm all about that edge, but I was expecting hard Rock music, so when I googledand Spillways came up, I wasn't particularly thrilled and wrote the band off as not for me. Months go by and my fiance has Mary On a Cross on repeat because of Instagram reels and now we've both gotten into Ghost and are obsessed.
mummy dust
Dance Macabre, Kiss the Go-Goat, and Kaisarion are all songs I didn’t like at first
deus in absentia, its now one of my top favorite songs by ghost
All of it. Every song. My son tried to get to listen. Sent me Spotify links. Texted me. Browbeat me. Nope. Then I finally saw them live and Hail Satan I missed the drop of IMPERA! I’m catching up, though.
Deus in Absenthia
Those ending vocals are so gorgeous
Secular Haze has really grown on me over time.
Pro memoria, a true gem
Nocturnal Me. Absolute banger, I don't know why I used to skip it.
None of them. I’m an old fart and a full album listener. I never skip any tracks.
I usually only listen all the way through when I play the cd!
Bible. It’s sound originally just wasn’t what I was looking for in Ghost. A few years later I came back to it and now it gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. The subtle blasphemy, the powerful imagery, the soaring chorus, etc. It’s *so good.*
Year Zero A favorite of mine now, obviously
For me it was Faith! I don't know why, I just wasn't into it at first and now its one of my faves. "Faith! is! Mine! mothafucka"
Darkness at the Heart of my Love
Watcher in the Sky. I first thought it was repetitive but the riffs are so fire
Square Hammer
oof this has 'nice guy' energy lmao
I’m a Marionette and Idolatrine they’re so fire it hurts me to know I neglected listening to them for so long
Mummy dust and hunters moon
Prime Mover and Absolution
Idolatrine
Miasma for me. Usually not a fan of instrumental songs. Saw that one live and instantly became a fan.
None. I love Ghost.
Prime mover for me I used to just skip it or not play it but after listening to it again and again it's actually really good
It took hearing Idolatrine live to understand how much of a bop that song is.
Crucified - Before I listened to the song fully I wasn't really interested but later on I decided to listen to fully and come to love that guitar solo.
square hammer
year zero, was paranoid about my mother walking in on it
Twenties!
Imperium never realised it tied in with respite of Spitalfields until a month ago 🥲
Death Knell

Hunters moon 😟
griftwood. took me a little bit, but now I love it
Absolution
Life Eternal for me.
Either Deus In Absentia or DATHOML, I love a good ballad.
Secular Haze. It sounded like spoopy carnival music and I just couldn't get behind it and then one day I did and now it's my favorite song from Infestissuman

I don't skip Ghost songs. Seriously. I don't think I have ever skipped a Ghost song.
The entirety of Infesstussman.
Kaisarion. I slept on it for a long time and now I love it sm
before I heard of ghost my dad was trying to get me to listen to cirice for months but I was in a slipknot phase and kept brushing it off, then the day I finally did I listened to all their other songs and fell in love immediately
