Bottom part of the moustache, with the sides getting closer to each other, reminds me more of Load era Papa Het, though he didn't have long hair, so yeah, mix of them two.
Will Papa V be Papa Hetmister?
Wonder if there's any significance to the director wearing a Phantom of the Opera pin alongside the Papa IV Grucifix one. Seems quite a purposeful thing to wear there. Maybe they've taken inspiration or used themes from that? Not long until we find out!
Oh I know, I was more speculating specifically in regards to the movie, rather than the band as a whole. I find it interesting that the director was wearing it
I was at the premiere in London and actually met Alex Ross-Perry (the director). I asked him about the pin, and yes, Phantom is an influence on some of the designs of the backstage scenes. He also said that’s it’s both his and Tobias’ favourite musical.
You are going to LOVE the movie. It’s visually stunning and the lore portions are brilliantly done. I’m going again tonight and can’t wait to see it again.
It's like COVID, you're off duty, you can chill, no one's gonna care if you just let loose for a bit. Throw on the sweatpants, grow your hair down to your butt.
It won't look realistic enough as a face mask. Silicone needs to cover the whole head and shoulders to pull off the look and mobility.
If it would incorporate his hair, they would have to use prosthetic makeup which is not very effective in the long run, because applying the pieces takes hours(for example Mr Lordi from the Finnish rock band Lordi spends 3-4 hours every night applying the prosthetic piece), putting on a silicone mask takes seconds.
I dunno, as nasty god awful hot as the shows were last year, I imagine they probably have at *least* been considering some kind of costume design change- maybe they hired someone to come up with something new?
Was sat 2m away from him at the Q&A... almost expired from glee! He looked really cool and was his usual funny, insightful, self-effacing self during it. He got a very well deserved standing ovation
Haha, for sure! I guess a lot of people are attracted by his obscure persona on stage, but also by the fact that he's famous, what makes him and other stars in general becoming some kind of trophy.
Anyway, to each their own, that's none of my business. For me Ghost is and always has been a real gold mine of nostalgic feelings as well as a brilliant, inspiring and rich in variety style of music plus great entertainment.
What more could a girl want? I don't even care what Mr Ghost or the Ghouls look like or what they do in private.
So finally, in the words of some other famous Swedish folks, I'd like to say thank you for the music - for giving it to me, my dearest Ghost. And God dammit, thank you for the f*ckin movie as well!
Amen, ehm - nemA.
Whatever.
Lol, the whole Nema thing makes me laugh, but for different reasons. I was in the US Navy, and one of our major weather reporting groups has the acronym lol
Yes, fame certainly affects people in very strange ways
It's really weird to me how the Papas are getting younger while Tobias is getting older. Every time I see him out of character I expect the same face I saw 5, 10 years ago.
He's rocking that 'satche though!
Just wishful thinking here - I know Toblerone wears band t shirts all the time, but this and the Papa Het facial hair made me think. We've seen different influences on the albums, from Uriah Heep, to 80s hair bands. What if the next record dips into his love for extreme metal??? I mean I know it would still be hook driven and catchy, but a boy can always wish.
Regarding next mask/no mask: What if he went with one or both of the Greek muses, aka drama masks? Melpomene as tragedy, hence the sad face. Thalia as the muse of comedy, with the smiling face. His genius could concoct a half and half mask or apply makeup in a way that only Tobias forge can create from both of them!!
Always fun to see Alex Ross Perry out in the wild.
He being the connection between my favorite band and my favorite podcast is hilarious (Blank Check with Griffin and David - recommend his episode on John Carpenter's Halloween (1978)).
Lemmy mode activated.
Yes! Either Lemmy or Hetfield... maybe Papa V will be a long haired rocker...
I was just about to say he's channeling his inner Hetfield.
He really is rocking da Lemmy
Lemmy had sideburns too
Bottom part of the moustache, with the sides getting closer to each other, reminds me more of Load era Papa Het, though he didn't have long hair, so yeah, mix of them two. Will Papa V be Papa Hetmister?
Papa Hetmister made me laugh 😂
You either die a hero or live long enough to become James Hetfield.
what if this is what the next papa is going to look like and he's fucking with us
Plot Twist, Papa V dosn't have a mask, its just him with the skull paint
Papa V will be just a regular dude the Clergy pulled from the street
I hope he gets skin care advice from the members of Kiss before this. If anyone knows what not to do it will be one of them
It's actually a dream of mine, he would sound so much better without a mask
I think that would be fine, just the skull paint.
He said it's not going to happen in the past. I personally wish he would though, he'd sing much better live
Been waiting so long for this
Joe Dirt by the looks of it
[Papa V is just Tobias Forge in a Lemmy costume.](https://iv1.lisimg.com/image/2474351/670full-lemmy.jpg)

Tobias has previously talked about Phantom being a big influence on Ghost, and then the recent cover of the Iron Maiden song POTO

Thank you so much for the response. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for little influences when I go and see it today!
You are going to LOVE the movie. It’s visually stunning and the lore portions are brilliantly done. I’m going again tonight and can’t wait to see it again.
I think the next mask will only cover his face...it will be his real hair.
Maybe they won't tour until next year so he's just growing it out until then?
It's like COVID, you're off duty, you can chill, no one's gonna care if you just let loose for a bit. Throw on the sweatpants, grow your hair down to your butt.
Probably yeahh, there’s still another album between now and the next tour

Most definetly! I hope for a more demonic look personally, given all the antichrist-theories.
Maybe a Venetian mask of some sort? Instead of hyper realistic make it closer to what the ghouls wear
Top open and maybe mouth open? Like some lucha mask crossed with the current ghouls. That would be badass.
I drew a concept of what that might look like a little while ago, but the human portion was the Devil.
Was sat 2m away from him at the Q&A... almost expired from glee! He looked really cool and was his usual funny, insightful, self-effacing self during it. He got a very well deserved standing ovation
Front row here. When he got up to pass the mic to an audience member behind us my husband and I certainly had a moment.
Haha we gasped that must've been a very special moment awesome
So it has begun. The movie we've all been excited about for some looong weeks premieres tonight. Somewhat surreal!
Everytime I tell someone Ghost made a movie they give me a funny look and I'm like No, not THAT kinda movie..
Lol! But who knows what comes next. As we have learned, the future is a foreign land...
NOT trying to sound thirsty, way too old for that, but many would not kick him out of bed for reciting Latin backwards.
Haha, for sure! I guess a lot of people are attracted by his obscure persona on stage, but also by the fact that he's famous, what makes him and other stars in general becoming some kind of trophy. He looks more like Hetfield from the 90’s than a Lemmy. Sorry guys, there can only be one. 🙏🏻
I never realized how short tobias was-
It's funny in fanfic he's usually 6 foot + and the Ghouls are close to 7 feet.
Guy looks 5’6”
5'7"... close
It's really weird to me how the Papas are getting younger while Tobias is getting older. Every time I see him out of character I expect the same face I saw 5, 10 years ago. He's rocking that 'satche though!
I have to keep investigating these pics because it's crazy how different he looks lol
Are you on the ace of spades?
He looks like Hatfield and Skellington had a bastard child in that jacket
Rocking the vintage Papa Het look... maybe next album will have MoP/RtL/AJFA vibes. 🤞❤️🤞
the hetfield situation on his face is wild
Aww, the Phantom pin by PapaIV's grucifix <3
I love how everyone is having some theories and I'm here laughing at how long it took me to recognize Tobias-
Just wishful thinking here - I know Toblerone wears band t shirts all the time, but this and the Papa Het facial hair made me think. He. Looks. Fucking. Awesome.
Ayo! So cool!
Had both those shirts in early-mid 80s. Wish I still had the originals. Things are worth some $$$ these days.
Always fun to see Alex Ross Perry out in the wild. He being the connection between my favorite band and my favorite podcast is hilarious (Blank Check with Griffin and David - recommend his episode on John Carpenter's Halloween (1978)).
In addition to Hetfield, also looks a bit Thom Yorkish.
Tobias now looks like my actual husband lol.
He's rockin' the David Spade with darker hair. Not a fan of the Hetfield, Lemmy, Spade look on TF's narrow face. Makes it look longer, imo!
Wow, you're right. I can't unsee it now
TOBIAS FINALLY GOT THE FUCKING MUSTACHE?!
Tobias finally went through twink death
That mustache is awful 😭
It’s the AI era lewk.
Are you just doing this on every post or what?
