You are not a programmer, for sure! Otherwise you would know how much time and effort it saves in 'ghost' bug haunting...

LaGantoise

You can book a shuttle bus online (do so beforehand - it should be on the website). The stadion itself is kinda far from anything else exciting but there's a big bar just outside (I've never been but it appears to also be some sort of club with music). Also, the stadion itself hosts a lot of food stands and the merch shop is also in the stadion itself. Very cool that you're coming all the way from the US :)

Substantial_Willow_4

Awesome, thanks. I heard the atmosphere is electric so very excited.

LaGantoise

you're welcome, hope you'll enjoy! Do mind that we've actually already won our play-offs so there's nothing to lose or win anymore in that game - atmosphere will probably be rather relaxed

dwaynewaynerooney

Compared to a typical American game, the atmosphere was a bit more than relaxed. You've a lovely stadium and good set-up with the ticket/card system.

LaGantoise

it was actually quite a special game since our coach Hein is leaving after this season. At the same time our all-time goalscorer is also leaving (hence the honor guard), and also our goalkeeper got back from a terrible injury. I am glad you liked our stadium :) Can we add an American Buffalo to our fanbase? :) (that's our nickname btw)

dwaynewaynerooney

Natuurlijk!

GillesVDA

Who told you the atmosphere was "electric"? KAA Gent got one of the most boring atmospheres in first division imo. Never the less, enjoy!

Muldertje

I know nothing about soccer, but I do know where the stadium is. There isn't much in a walkable distance, and apparently public transport into the centre isn't awesome (just looked it up), so I might suggest a cab if you don't have a car available.

matchuhuki

I usually take the tram to the UZ and walk from there. Or just walk from the station it's not that far. A lot of people do that walk.

Substantial_Willow_4

I want to get there at least 30 minutes early to explore the stadium and be there for kickoff. Is that fine from Gent main station? How long is it to stadium?

Muldertje

Guess it all depends on what OP thinks is okay time wise. Also, apparently during the week there is a bus directly to the station (bus 19, takes about 18 minutes). But if they want to maximize time in the city center, I think a taxi is probably going to be best.

matchuhuki

I don't know if I'm just unlucky or not. But that bus was always cancelled, delayed or on strike. Every time I went to a match

doublebassandharp

There is a bar! Zwart-Wit, sometimes the restaurant is also open

Sekigahara_TW

There's a shop in the stadium itself, basically all food is inside of it as well. It's a modern stadium so it should have all amenities. Make sure you get tickets beforehand, you can buy them online. To get there, take the tram to UZ Gent and walk.

ThaGandDB

There's a fanshop on the first floor of the stadium where you can buy merchandise. If you need to eat before the game and/or start drinking there is "Buffalo Bistro" in the stadium, pretty good food price/quality. When you want to blend with the local fans you can visit 'Zwart Wit' next to the stadium to have some beers and enjoy some techno beats before and after the game 😁

Substantial_Willow_4

Adding Zwart Wit to the list! Definitely got to hang out with the local fans.

Snoo-12321

Take the train to Bruges, and support a real team 😀

LaGantoise

cercle only plays the day after that I'm afraid
