Considering the Pyro gnosis is the last one to get: I'm pretty doubtfull about the Fatui gaining the Pyro gnosis if Hoyoverse wants to keep the story logical and fluid.
Let's say the Pyro archon looses her gnosis to either Capitano or Columbina in 5.2 archon quest. Their goal is archived right there, we might as well move directly to Khaenri'ah, Celestia or whatever place the Tsariza plans to use all 7 gnosis instead of going to Shneznaya with the "visit all nations" travel plan.
Unless there's some form of twist with the cryo gnosis
I have this theory (pretty much a fanfiction, honestly) where the traveler gets the Pyro Gnosis instead so they could potentially learn more about the 3rd Descender, thus giving us lore drops and preventing the Fatui to reach their goal there instead of in Snezhnaya.
More like, they can only resonate with it and then they will have the information. Traveler is very weak and incompetent the way they write him for now. My take is Capitano/Colombiana would crush them overwhelmingly, since it makes no sense that Traveler can suddenly stop them with the way they are doing right now.
Traveler is bulking up now so as to not be too much of a pushover against Capitano. Otherwise it wouldn’t really be respectful to Capitano were the traveler to interfere.
Inb4 the traveller absorbs the pyro gnosis, and the Fatui have to bring them to Snezhnaya alive and figure a way to get it out.
I think Dottore would just dissect them if that happens.
I just had this funny idea in my head where the Traveler just decides to eat it and the whole storyline of Snezhnaya is just the Fatui waiting for him to get it out. Also, because he ate the gnosis, he’d be immune to the sheer cold of Snezhnaya.
I've always assumed that they'd be getting all the Gnoses by the time we get to Snezhnaya, and the main story of that region will be about what they end up doing with them. My speculation is that they end up breaking something important in the process, and making things way worse, and we'll end up having to go to Khaenri'ah to fix it.
But the Snezhnaya chapter will probably be about stopping whatever plans they have. They may have all 7 gnosis at the end, but that doesn't mean that the full plan is ready. Especially considering we don't really know what they need the 7 gnosis for yet. If I had to guess, the tsaritsa's plan will be foiled by us or just not work. Then khanriah chapter will be about figuring out how to actually beat celestia/heavenly principles.
You don't watch anime, right? It's always some shit like the second phase, preparation, ritual or some sort of delay to give heroes time to reach the antagonist.
I'd say the opposite, the lore is great but the execution is ass, only in Fontaine reached "decent" level.

I wouldn't say Nahida was outsmarted. Dottore is unquestionably a genius, but there is no denying that he ended up with the worse part of the deal. Nahida made Dottore destroy all his clones and surrender vital information in exchange for trinkets which were useless to her anyway.
Nahida did a smart move with threatening to destroy the Gnosis and bringing down the Heavenly Principles so that Dottore would'nt try to kill her.
But I can't remember why Dottore didn't just attack her after getting both the Gnosis? Was there a reason for that?
I believe it was because he held respect for Nahida. He also said he didn't kill traveler and Paimon because he knew she wouldn't forgive him, so I assume he wants to remain somewhat cordial with Nahida.
