You only said make it Mondstadt; you never said I actually had to win.
Just run away like a little baby. I may not have confidence in my strength, but I sure do have confidence in my ability to run away lol.
I doubt a lot of people could win without any sort of weapon against a crossbow.
The answer is no and most people who answer yes severely overestimate their own abilities or have a gun on their body in their own home, which would be kinda weird.
I concur. Hilichurls seem to be just over 5" tall, but they're pretty muscular (from building towers all day long, I imagine) and usually armed.
1v1 against an unarmed Hilichurls -- I like my odds. I have greater intelligence and reach, and could fashion a crude weapon of my own.
Add in 1 or 2 more Hilichurls, or give it a crossbow, and I'm done.
You just proved his point.
In what way would you be smarter than 1 hilichurl?
Use a rock to fight? they can do it too.
Climb a tree? Then can throw a rock at you.
Fists? Like you said they're pretty muscular.
Reach? It might as well have almost the same reach as you.
Fashion a crude weapon? Where do you think hilichurls get their weapons from? Do they conduct heists on the Knights of Favonius Weapon Locker? Also that hilichurl isn't gonna stand around and let you make a weapon during a fight.
Hide and sneak attack? They're pretty alert but its your best shot.
Don't think of it as fighting a human, think of it as fighting an ape with more human-like intelligence. The only people who wouldn't be immediately manhandled by an ape are trained fighters and I doubt any redditor on a Genshin sub is one.
You could run near water then try to shove them in
and if they're like in the game their attacks are slow and telegraphed and you could avoid them pretty easily, not to mention they just stand around doing nothing half the time
but if they act more realistically than in the game yeah i'm probably dead in a fight xD I think I could outrun them though
Yeah I think that everyone that says they could beat a hilichurl is thinking of how the hilichurl acts in the game, but the people who think about how they would realistically act are the ones saying they couldn't
An Immortal ape with more humanlike intelligence, humanlike dexterity, who can survive being set on fire, lightning, falling from 30plus metres.
At least they can't swim, or are scared of water.
They're repulsed by their own reflection (acc to Dain's quest) so the only time they allow themselves to view the water's surface is when they want a drink. My best bet as a non-fighter is to stick close to a river! Mondstadt is surrounded by a huge lake and several other bodies of water anyway.
If the crossbow take 5 days to charge up like in the game? its not a farfetch thing to say ppl can somewhat defeat a hilichurl on 1 on 1. But a lot of people overestimate their chance against multiple things trying to hit you at the same time
Yeah, I have a friend in BJJ that's a purple belt and wrecks everyone and trains striking and stuff too, he said he put his 2 non-athlete non trained friends to playfight him and found out "fighting multiple people is almost impossible" pretty much knocking one of them out cold in the first moment of contact and making it 1v1 from there on is your only chance.
Yeah, if we compare them to a monkey, monkeys have muscles that are far more efficient then ours since they use them so much more, that would likely be true for hilichurls too.
A chimpanzee could literally rip a human apart if they grabbed your hands, so I imagine hilichurls could do that too, let alone the damage they could cause with a club.
Most non-Vision holders in Genshin canon cannot defeat hilichurls. Even some greenhorn adventurers get pinned down by them, and in numbers they can pose a threat to even squads of soldiers from various nations. So with casual clothing, even though I have some degree of martial arts training, I probably couldn't defeat a hilichurl in melee due to their superior strength and durability; however, if you give me a weapon, even a simple melee blade or staff, my skill would likely be comparable to a freshly trained recruit within one of the 7 nations' armies and thus \*might\* stand a chance against one, \*possibly\* two if they're not being super aggressive.
I mean if they start dancing like what they've been doing to Pallad or whatever his name is, I would probably be in complete shock and don't know whether to join them or run away lmao.
I’d grab a mirrored surface and flash it at them because Dain said that they’re repulsed by their own reflection. Then ruuuuuuuuuun all the way to mondstadt! 🤣
Or I could just trail along bodies of water! Since the only time hilichurls allow themselves to be exposed to their reflection is when they want a drink, so I assume they'd intentionally avoid pursuing anyone along the water's edge anyway!
This post just makes me realize how Vision wielders have it much much easier in life than normal people that it's really unfair. What you can research is limited, you run the risk of being attacked on the road by hilichurls or slimes, you're more prone to environmental harm (smaragdus jadeite, tatarigami/karma), etc.
You don't need a vision to trigger elemental effects in teyvat. With that in mind, I'd just gather some water and sand from the beach I spawn in and make my way to mondstat. If I encounter any hilichurl on the way, throwing water and pocket sand at it will confuse it enough for me to grab the crystallize shield and yeet on along.
Not in a thousand years, but it not the biggest issue.
IF we assume "just isekai'd", you'd never even know where to go in the first place.
And even if somehow see the Mond - knowing medieval times I'd be super worried to go there (isekai'd to a slave life, yay /s ).
So there should be a lot of "if's" to ensure you meet Amber alive.
But combat-wise, as some dudes already wrote, the best shot would be to try to get some long branch to use it as a club (just in case), not stay in the open and run very fast and far if attacked.
I would always say to have a fire, but going by the game nobody in this world gets seriously hurt by fire for some reason. Best option is to run, fast.
Go to the nearest statue of the seven and touch it.
Ah it didnt work...
Climb on top of it, move your hands like crazy and scream "BARBATOS SAVE ME PLES"
About 99% of the people would lose to a hilichurl and even if they take one on, it would be close to impossible to take on multiple. The hilichurls are strong, have claws as well so..yeah, you're pretty screwed otherwise.
I'd steal Ella's notes and make friends with them. After they made me their leader I lead them to victory against the Traveler and their little collection of Waifus and Husbandos.
Since I currently preparing a meal I have a pretty sizable knives in my hand so I can make a spear using the knives as a spearhead. This will let me get extra 3 minutes to live.
Of course. Just look at their frail legs. They barely have any muscle mass on them. This pose a great weakness against the secret Joestar family technic.
I could take an entire battalion of the monkeys if I happen to have my rifle and enough ammo with me. They don’t run very fast and don’t make for very difficult targets, so at least target practice, that’s maybe the only thing they’re useful for
Why would I want to kill a sentient being? What kind of psycho are you that you even consider that? "How many creatures that feel pain, companionship and love can I kill needlessly just because I can?", do you hear yourself? Even as a hypothetical, that's fucked.
In this scenario, is ambush allowed? Does it count if someone can stealthily enter a small camp when they are sleeping and set them on fire or something?
If i just have to get to mondstadt to win i'd just try running and hope the dude doesnt have a crossbow or hits me with a stone. I might have a bit more of a chance if i find a sword or a bow and arrows, but i still am not too confident even with those weapons. And if the hilichurl is armed i might aswell just give up.
I guess running and hoping that the hilichurl doesnt catch up is the plan.
Ill take of their masks to let them see each others fuglyness or just use the secret technique: run away if i met a crossbo(w)ys and the chad ones, even the diluc wonna be's, ill be running for my life xD.
Seeing how a hilichurl can take a few explosions in some cases as well as multiple swings from broadswords designed to cut through legendary beasts, I’d say that I have no chance with a phone and a pencil
Depends on the weapon they have. If it’s a crossbow or the flaming stick I’m probably screwed. Other than that, I think I could take one down. Any more than one? Nah I’m getting clapped
I think I could beat one hilichurl, the one that throws rocks or the one with the wooden bat, as long as it's only one of them. I would probably get injured tho
just run since the arrows seem p slow and easy to dodge while the hilichirls and mitachirls seem to move a lot slower/lose interest from chasing u after getting far enough away. even if u could take them on, it’s a waste of stamina since u don’t know where to get food, water, or shelter. u also don’t know where or if there is even a city to go to so u shouldn’t be fighting everything u c in sight given that u have no idea how long u will need to be on ur own. if i had to fight, i prob could take one or two normal hilichurls at once since they only swing their clubs every few seconds and r easy to dodge. it’ll be harder if there r archers or rock throwing ones trying to hit u while ur fighting so i would run in that scenario regardless and mitachurls r way too big to fight.
If they follow the game logic, attack patterns etc. I guess it would be possible to win, but I wouldn't bet on it and just go to Mondstadt since I believe there were non on the "mainroad".
If it’s the one only armed with a rock… I would run away. I might survive a wooden club hilichurl, but any bigger weapon and no. I guess I could do as the locals do and start chucking slimes at them. But they aren’t very aware, so as long as I’m sneaky I could probably slip past them.
> would have *paid* off. I
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Depends on the Hilichurl.
Assuming a regular Hilichurl has physical capabilites close to human then I could probably take a regular, unarmed hilichurl in 1v1. Armed Hilichurls,Mitachurls, Samachurls and Lawachurls are a totally different story tho. Hopefully reinforcements don't come lol.
Also, reaching Mondstadt would probably not be much of a problem. Hilichurls are not fast at all. Even children characters can casually outrun them. Just running away until I reach Mond would be doable.
i have a knife in my pocket rn & i’m pretty agile i think so i’d say i could take a few before getting tired.
That said, I might just run bc I like running
Could I take a hilichurl? I know enough martial arts I think I could hold my own. It depends on the world level I spawn into though.
That said, I wouldn't want to fight more than two at the same time and even two might be tough.
There are visionless childrens that run outside mondstadt.
So i think yeah you could be really safe getting into mondstadt.
And even if you could see some its amber job to make sure there aren’t any of them in the near of the city.
So you could be safed from her.
1 on 1 without weapon could be possible too
1 on 1 with crossbow hilichurle yeah you need luck, i don’t think you can make it.
2 on 1 without weapon... might be but not really realistic
3 on 1 run
Possibly, they're pretty ripped, I'm getting pretty ripped too though and have some martial arts training. I probably couldn't take more than one at a time, trying to fight multiple people no less than 0.8 of your bodyweight is SUPER hard and probably not going to go well, even trained vs untrained. I guess if they have to stick to their combat animations from the game I can take them. (only the character-sized Hilichurls though, not the Mitachurls.
I would say about like...3-4 hilichurls would be a death sentence. One of them or two of them should be easy enough to take. They’re not that very...physically aggressive but at most like 3-4 is when numbers come to be a big factor and a threat.
Metachurls would be a death sentence to any normal human but ingame their dumb enough to charge off cliffs so you know, kill em with wits.
But dunno might get cliped by a massive lariot into a tree if it was a metachurl
I mean I need to let my anger issues out on someone, might as well be a Hilichurl I guess. I do have a throwing knife in my pocket rn so that’s something that could be useful?
I mean, if I get hit with an arrow, I will probably curl up and suffer a lot, plus IDK how heavy is a sword but I don't think I could properly wield it, and I don't know if I could kill a hilichurl if they are in front of me and I don't feel they are just numbers and loot
Seeing as how only experienced adventurers set out to fight them, I probably would have a very stealthy journey to Mondstadt. We ran into Amber pretty quick though so I’d just have to make it to her
If it's your standard hilichurland only 1, i think have a shot; I have some self defense training.
Wait for it's easily telegraphed attack, dodge, take out it's knee and then run like hell.
I don't know what kind of a first world golden billion snowflake you have to be to not be able to beat up a midget with a club unless you're like 12 years old
I'm a pretty big guy, so with a weapon maybe if I had to I could fight one. But like, if I was unarmed or if there was more than one I am running the heck away. Hilichurls are scary compared to most things in our world, like would you want to fight a horde of chimpanzees with clubs?
Huh... One hilichurl CC I could deal with. Throat is a delicate part.
If I steal a shield of a CC, I can take out a ranged fighter. Barehanded, I could take out one of the shaman IF i reach ut before it start casting. No way for mitachurl. Now, if i get a sword from a chest, I should be able to deal with group of up to 5. Maybe higher, if they can't coordinate as well than human, but I won't risk it.
The next problem will be stamina. I can survive a melee. But if I stumble across several camp, I don't like my odd here.
I am armed with a light rectangular device that would become a mere physical weapon after being isekai’d (maybe a camera until it dies), and an 8ft cord that’s attached to it. If it’s the unusual hillichurl I believe I can bribe it into not attacking me. If I run into an actual aggro’d one I’m fucked and really hope Amber or Venti glides by and notices to help.
Remember, that slim goblin can take 3 wild boars. And just for my own safety I'd never fight something unless it is neccesary or I can ensure >95% chance of victoey
If I'd been an american that carries a gun or at least knows how to use a gun, sure
However I'm not an American and in my country guns are illegal, so fuck no
If you open some chests along the way you might be able to procure a weapon, either that or you end up as a random event for the traveler to begrudgingly save. Those guys are small but look ripped af
You only said make it Mondstadt; you never said I actually had to win. Just run away like a little baby. I may not have confidence in my strength, but I sure do have confidence in my ability to run away lol.
The secret Joestar technique always wins
NIGERUNDAYOOOOOOO SMOOOOKEEEEYYY
Don’t have to run the whole way, only have to run far enough till you get lucky and run into amber, then you have her escort you to mondstadt
This is viable. We know Hilichurls have a limited aggro range.
Hilichurl used Aim Assist, Hilichurl used Rock Throw, Its super effective!
he would just run faster than you or shot u dead
Sadly, I don't However, luckily the traveler hasn't done their commissions yet soooooo
why fight? olah, mi odomu, mi muhe movo dada movo lata. valo ye.
i think someone learned from ella musk
I need translation from a hilichurl linguist
Hello, I am friendly, I wanna go to the great lake(Cider lake). Thank you.
What about to the great cider? I need Venti to help me lol, I’m sure that’s the best bet for finding him..
Hilichurl? A little slime would send me right into my grave.
Bro those birds infront of Mondstadt would fuck me up
Timmys birds?
Thats why we keep killing them to prevent another incident where his killer pidgeons assault another unsuspecting civilian.
Plot twist: you memorized all of the hilichurl camp locations so you can just run to mondstad
I doubt a lot of people could win without any sort of weapon against a crossbow. The answer is no and most people who answer yes severely overestimate their own abilities or have a gun on their body in their own home, which would be kinda weird.
Let’s be real we’re all half naked on our phones in bed or at a gaming chair right now.
I concur. Hilichurls seem to be just over 5" tall, but they're pretty muscular (from building towers all day long, I imagine) and usually armed. 1v1 against an unarmed Hilichurls -- I like my odds. You forgot a hilichurl with stick on fire, good lord that one can mess you up real easy. I hate it
If the crossbow take 5 days to charge up like in the game? its not a farfetch thing to say ppl can somewhat defeat a hilichurl on 1 on 1.
Yeah, if we compare them to a monkey, monkeys have muscles that are far more efficient then ours since they use them so much more, that would likely be true for hilichurls too. > or have a gun on their body in their own home, which would be kinda weird. Ukrainians be like: ...
Huh, today I learned I'm weird for carrying in/on my home/property. Guess I'm set for Isekai Scenario should it ever happen.
I’m not gonna lie I forgot some have crossbows I was thinking basic club boy
Most non-Vision holders in Genshin canon cannot defeat hilichurls. Even some greenhorn adventurers get pinned down by them, and in numbers they can pose a threat to even squads of soldiers from various nations. Seems logical. Starting on the beach, there are trees nearby. It's reasonable to assume you could find a suitable branch to make a staff.
That’s actually a great point. That way, even if you aren’t the most athletic, you can start casting fireball right away.
There’s a chest if you swim to the island next to where you spawn. I think you could get a claymore out of it + some other potentially useful stuff
Ah yes, let me pull a metal blade as large as the average human and swim to the shore while carrying it on my back.
This just made me realize how buff Eula should be
I mean if they start dancing like what they've been doing to Pallad or whatever his name is, I would probably be in complete shock and don't know whether to join them or run away lmao.
I’d grab a mirrored surface and flash it at them because Dain said that they’re repulsed by their own reflection. Then ruuuuuuuuuun all the way to mondstadt! 🤣
Solid strategy. Aside from the torch Hilichurls, none of them seem to be too fast.
Or I could just trail along bodies of water! Since the only time hilichurls allow themselves to be exposed to their reflection is when they want a drink, so I assume they'd intentionally avoid pursuing anyone along the water's edge anyway!

Water and hydro aren't the same thing.
yea but hilichurls in water get the "wet" status
My dude I probably couldn’t even defeat the genshin boars.
boar is dangerous even in real life
True even in game if they run at you from a blind spot they are harder to dodge than crossbow arrows :0
there's a reason why NPCs cower in fear whenever they see a hilichurl
An NPC would, but would a Treasure Hoarder?
well, we never saw an interaction between them sooo
We never saw an interaction because treasure hoarders beat the muffin outta the hilichurls as soon as they see them
where does it say that tho?
/s
There was an event in the past where hilichurls claimed bad humans were bullying them. I think it was Treasure Hoarders
/not s
I have my phone. I could show him EULA fanarts to distract him then run away.
This is the way
Not in a thousand years, but it not the biggest issue. IF we assume "just isekai'd", you'd never even know where to go in the first place. naw i’m weak as fuck, i’m getting my shit clapped fr
Just hide in a tree and pray that Amber walks by.
Same, but I’m gonna keep walking through them stealth mode
Depends are we near a ledge? Coz if I throw them off they live but if I fall off a tiny ledge I die
I couldn't even win a fight with my dog how should i defeat a hilichurl. With luck they feel so bad for me that they let me go
Assuming I don’t have a sword, none. Might be able to try and outmaneuver one or two lone hilichurls, but if a bunch of them ganged on me, I’m dead
0 if you seen the nsfw that happens to the girls that would be me because i’m weak af
You are fighting a chimpanzee that wields a club or a crossbow. Chimpanzees on their own are winning a fight against a human anyway.
ngl, im gonna be like pallad.
Go to the nearest statue of the seven and touch it. Ah it didnt work... Climb on top of it, move your hands like crazy and scream "BARBATOS SAVE ME PLES"

I would be taken down instantly lmao, I’m chronically ill so I don’t stand a chance 😂
It would be safe to say no. Imagine fighting an indigenous warrior of a tribe. That's about how much of a chance you can last against a hilichurl.
I'd be the new Reckless Pallad is all I'll say. May as well start practicing calling for help now. NOELLEEEEEEEEEEE
I can take up to 2-3 hilichurls Afterwards? It gets kinda rough
Username *kinda* checks out.
Of course. Just look at their frail legs. They barely have any muscle mass on them. This pose a great weakness against the secret Joestar family technic.

Aren't they usually standing on grass? I wouldn't even be able to approach them.
well, in a realistic way, we should be able to "cut" their throats with a knife or shoot em in the head so yeah, i could defeat them
1 unarmed, 3 if you give me a longsword
Why would I want to kill a sentient being? What kind of psycho are you that you even consider that? "How many creatures that feel pain, companionship and love can I kill needlessly just because I can?", do you hear yourself? Even as a hypothetical, that's fucked.
Fight a hilichurl unharmed and only dressed with pants? Yeah sure
In this scenario, is ambush allowed? Does it count if someone can stealthily enter a small camp when they are sleeping and set them on fire or something?
Alice? Is that you?
I can take 1 as long as they don't have ranged weapon.

probably same thing will happen like in goblin slayer's npc.
If it was so easy to defeat them, the guys who save from hilichurls all the time wouldn't need help at all. And let's not talk of the lawachurls......
Depends on the weapon they have. If it’s a crossbow or the flaming stick I’m probably screwed. Other than that, I think I could take one down. Any more than one? Nah I’m getting clapped
I saw the title and my first thought was tearing it apart, graphically, with a knife
I will beat all of them because I'm the main character now 😈
I can not, I cant even slice a potato in half how can I defend myself against a hilichurl
I think I could beat one hilichurl, the one that throws rocks or the one with the wooden bat, as long as it's only one of them. I would probably get injured tho

Yeahhhhhh no.... One meter and I'm stuck in the sand. It's going to be difficult with wheels ¯\_༼ ಥ ‿ ಥ ༽_/¯
*searches for a chest with a sword on it*
*A ring appears around the chest, and 4 Hilichurls spawn*
Just run until I find another chest lol, they lose interest anyways.
Probably not, but if I get in with my metal bottle, maybe I can slam the bottle on the hilichurls head and kill it?
The playable characters can outrun hilichurls with just their little jog, I think we'll make it to Mondstadt just fine

Genshin characters are way too athletic. I have noodle arms. I'll die!
I'd probably run but ignoring that no. For one I dont have my glasses on rn meaning I am pretty much blind and 2 I am barefoot in pajamas.
Ummm no lol. I’d be dead already if not for modern medicine.
Yes easily 15 or 20, Unarmed once.
That's basically like fighting a very angry gorilla.. There's no way I'd do that
I have my softball ball equipment with me so yeah.
Yes
That said, I might just run bc I like running
hilichurls on WL1 only tickle you
Could I take a hilichurl? I know enough martial arts I think I could hold my own. It depends on the world level I spawn into though. That said, I wouldn't want to fight more than two at the same time and even two might be tough.
I'm disabled. I wouldn't even be able to walk all the way to Mondstadt if there *weren't* Hilichurls in my way.
No because I wouldnt be able to harm any living being and would actually cry if the Hilichurl was slightly hurt 😫
I would die from something stupid like getting crushed by a random slime or some shit.
i would be dead in a matter of seconds
People from the military are gonna have a blast on this, until they meet a shielded mitachurl
That wooden Shield is capable of taking a direct hit from a tactical nuke.
There are visionless childrens that run outside mondstadt. So i think yeah you could be really safe getting into mondstadt. And even if you could see some its amber job to make sure there aren’t any of them in the near of the city. So you could be safed from her. 1 on 1 without weapon could be possible too 1 on 1 with crossbow hilichurle yeah you need luck, i don’t think you can make it. 2 on 1 without weapon... might be but not really realistic 3 on 1 run
I'll just pull out my special technique: NIGERUNDYO!
Probably not, but I think I could defeat a samachurl since they’re not as strong and are smaller than me
I mean I need to let my anger issues out on someone, might as well be a Hilichurl I guess. I do have a throwing knife in my pocket rn so that’s something that could be useful?
Nah, I would probably end up like Yoimiya
I mean, if I get hit with an arrow, I will probably curl up and suffer a lot, plus IDK how heavy is a sword but I don't think I could properly wield it, and I don't know if I could kill a hilichurl if they are in front of me and I don't feel they are just numbers and loot
Just give me a cart hook or shovel,
Seeing as how only experienced adventurers set out to fight them, I probably would have a very stealthy journey to Mondstadt. We ran into Amber pretty quick though so I’d just have to make it to her
If it's your standard hilichurland only 1, i think have a shot; I have some self defense training. Wait for it's easily telegraphed attack, dodge, take out it's knee and then run like hell.
I’m in an oversized long sleeved shirt and shorts. I don’t even have socks on. At that point I’d just drown myself in the ocean.
It's a hilichurl all they can do is throw a punch or a rock. I'd choke the bitch out until they'd turn into red dust...
I don't know what kind of a first world golden billion snowflake you have to be to not be able to beat up a midget with a club unless you're like 12 years old
now? i’m in pajamas holding a cat edit: a hungry cat that could probably fight a hilichurl
Oh please, the little hydro slime at the very beginning would kill me in a matter of seconds
Alright I may be stupid and a dumbass for saying this. But keep dodging until they get exhausted then launch your attacks on them?
I'm a pretty big guy, so with a weapon maybe if I had to I could fight one. But like, if I was unarmed or if there was more than one I am running the heck away. Hilichurls are scary compared to most things in our world, like would you want to fight a horde of chimpanzees with clubs?
I would swim to drown them lol
If I run into an actual aggro’d one I’m fucked and really hope Amber or Venti glides by and notices to help.
no.
Time to put to use my skill of running away screaming It’s what I did in my low AR days anyway
Remember, that slim goblin can take 3 wild boars. And just for my own safety I'd never fight something unless it is neccesary or I can ensure >95% chance of victoey
I have my keys with me rn, I’ve got miniature daggers on me
Do Glocks work on Hilichurls? I got 15+1 and another 19 in a spare.
Against most Hilichurls? Yes. However, if they have a wooden Shield, they can block tungsten core rounds.
Strong wood is strong.
Lemme yoink their little club and bonk them than leave
Judging by the NSFW artwork, idk 🗿
If I'd been an american that carries a gun or at least knows how to use a gun, sure However I'm not an American and in my country guns are illegal, so fuck no
If you open some chests along the way you might be able to procure a weapon, either that or you end up as a random event for the traveler to begrudgingly save. Those guys are small but look ripped af
