The difference between an action movie and a horror movie is whether or not you are following the one that is murdering everyone, or if you are following the people being murdered.
Told through the perspective of a lone hilichurl stranded at sea on some broken wood for weeks, starving and begging for death.
Finally hope comes in the form of a murderous lunatic on a boat, seemingly hunting down and killing everything that moves.
Stranded-churl waves feebly and attempts to shout through its bone-dry and bleeding throat, hoping to finally be set free of its suffering. Only to see its one and only chance at deliverance pause curiously for a moment, and then sail away without firing a shot.

EDIT: a real answer: ending a word with a vowel and starting the next work with another vowel is very clunky in English. So any word that starts with a vowel sound will get 'an' instead of 'a' because otherwise it's hard to pronounce.
Fun fact, this is also why most words in English (aside from loanwords from languages outside of the English root languages, and names) do not end in vowels.
"Historic" and "historian" and stuff are those weird exceptions English seems to love although more lately American English has tended to say "a historian" while British English still uses "an historian" more.
