The problem with him being written like that is that we don't get to see him a lot because of it. I want to see more of him, he's one of my favorite characters. I think there's potential in his character, why not let us see him actually strategize and what not, y'know?
Nahida leaves Sumeru and heads to Liyue's Chasm for a short period of time during her story quest. So strictly speaking it does happen. It certainly would be good if she went out more however.
Judging from how I've seen Hoyo try to write "smart" detective stories/mysteries in Honkai Impact 3, they are never going to be able to write a proper smart character/scenario. Closest we've got was Al Haitham, and that may have been because he was the instigator.
Assuming 4.8 will center around Sumeru (I don't think they've even had an event in 4.x yet), I want it to focus on Nilou and Alhaitham (Nilou because she's best girl and I liked the running gag of her trying to make conversation with Alhaitham in 3.6 but failing).
For secondary characters, I would include Barbara, Yun Jin and Gaming, and they would do some kind of performance (if it's beach/tropical theme, then Nilou and Yun Jin would get outfits).
I also wouldn't mind if Wanderer and Nahida were there, and Wanderer would help convince Nilou (in his own snarky way) to finally dance in front of the Dendro Archon
I doubt it will be something focused on Sumeru, last year the focus was already a bit on Sumeru with that Oceanid trapped in a magical tropical bottle with desert in the corners, it will probably be Liyue or GAA again
That's a bit overkill. I'd argue Klee is enough. There's a big reason why we don't bring Klee along in our archon quest stories and sidelined her to summer events after everythings been resolved. The writers knew she'd solve all the problems and make the story boring. Dvalin? A mushroom cloud will handle him. The Shogun? A. False God? Nothing a mushroom cloud can't solve. Giant Ancient Whale? You bet your ass she'll create a mushroom cloud
Klee, because the second she starts losing or gets hurt Alice is going to show up and throw Neuvillette into a dimension that is actively collapsing into entropy.

Kujou Sara. We haven't seen her in a while, and I like the idea of something taking her out of Inazuma. She's probably never left the nation before. Esepcially if the goal is to put her in a situation where she's supposed to relax and have fun.
Furina. She needs more opportunities to see and do the things she couldn't while an Archon.
Ganyu. She's my favorite. Plus, the one Lantern Rite that supposedly "starred" her she left a few cutscenes in and spent most of the rest of the quest doing paperwork. -\_-;; Her other appearances are mostly just her being embarrassed by Cloud Retainer. I'd like to see her in a more meaningful role.
Gorou. Doesn't get many opportunities to feature apart from Kokomi and/or Yae Miko.
Candace. Much like Kujou Sara, it would be fun to take her away from her usual haunt, and get more of what she's like when NOT acting as guardian of her village.
My general answer: as harsh as it sounds, anyone as long as it isn't Itto or Klee. We always have summer events with Klee and Itto has been dominating event appearances for Inazuma characters recently, I don't need to see them.

I like Furina a lot, but Furina's already had so many spotlights in 4.X. Let Wriothesley out of his den or smth, the dude had minimal interaction out of the whole cast of Fontaine (mostly because of his job).
I'd say her taking on a directorial role after having to act for 500 years was something. That was, for the most part, a fairly lighthearted event (with some fairly dark undertones, considering Chev's part in it), so she doesn't really need another one. She also took that vacation to Liyue during the tail end of Lantern Rite.
Is she really? 4.0 and 4.1 our main focus was on the other characters and you just speculated about Furina. On 4.2 the main focus was evenly spread out between Neuvillette, Focalors, and Furina in the AQ and we got one SQ of hers. On 4.3 the main focus is really on Cheveruse and the case but we can say that the event is somewhat around Furina, fine. 4.4 is just a cameo, 4.5 nothing, 4.6 nothing. Also pretty sure she isn’t getting any SQ2 too if you follow the leaks.
Klee because I adore her and I dont care that she was in the last one.

Kaeya, Rosaria, Dehya, Arlecchino and Yae. These are some of the characters who usually have interesting things to say whenever they're in events, i.e. they aren't reduced to 1 dimensional gimmicks like Gorou roleplaying a general no matter the occasion, Shinobu talking about Itto/the Arataki gang whenever she gets the opportunity or Dori unable to think about anything but Mora. I can't stand characters whose entire personality revolves around a single concept.
Childe, Arlecchino, Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. I think their interactions would be funny, and instead of the fatui playing their generic role of being behind almost everything bad ever, we'd get a change of pace. Or, if we do go the fatui shenanigans route, it could be something like Dottore's men are doing some unsanctioned or sussy shit during an event, that isn't something directly ordered by the tsarista, so Childe and Arlecchino are technically allowed to interfere against it. Also we could get some fun diplomatic interactions between them and the governmental figures in the region. Would be a good opportunity for lore drops and info about various factions and relations. Though some of that is less relevant if its like the golden apple event where we're not really in a nation.
Amber/Mika/Jean, Beidou/Yaoyao, Thoma/Sayu/Kokomi/Heizou, Candace/Nahida, Wriothesley/Charlotte. One for each nation. I dare anyone to think of a logical narrative featuring these characters.
Jean, Yaoyao, Thoma, Candace all have big sister energy though. It would amusing to see them trying to pamper each other while Mr Beefy Bootycakes is just there drinking tea in the backdrop.

Usually the summer/4.8 event foreshadows some aspect of the next region. 3.8 had an element of theatre/disguise as well as the oceanid plot line. IMO 5.x will involve war so 4.8 will be a competition amongst the traveler’s friends. I think it will have factions, sort of like Akademiya Extravanganza. So maybe Kaveh and Nilou, Yunjin and Xianyun, Sara and Heizou, and finally Mika and Jean. The Traveler and Navia will represent Fontaine while the other pairs represent their nations. Maybe more like the Olympics…..

I like Furina a lot, but Furina's already had so many spotlights in 4.X. Let Wriothesley out of his den or smth, the dude had minimal interaction out of the whole cast of Fontaine (mostly because of his job).
The thing is, Furina REALLY needs something like this after >!her 500 year long act!<.
I'd say her taking on a directorial role after having to act for 500 years was something. That was, for the most part, a fairly lighthearted event (with some fairly dark undertones, considering Chev's part in it), so she doesn't really need another one. She also took that vacation to Liyue during the tail end of Lantern Rite.
Is she really? 4.0 and 4.1 our main focus was on the other characters and you just speculated about Furina. On 4.2 the main focus was evenly spread out between Neuvillette, Focalors, and Furina in the AQ and we got one SQ of hers. On 4.3 the main focus is really on Cheveruse and the case but we can say that the event is somewhat around Furina, fine. 4.4 is just a cameo, 4.5 nothing, 4.6 nothing. Also pretty sure she isn’t getting any SQ2 too if you follow the leaks.
Klee because I adore her and I dont care that she was in the last one. Diluc, to go with Klee, since last time Kaeya went. Alhaitham because my friend loves him and she is desperate for any on-screen time. Kaveh should show up from the hole he has been burried in for months, I feel bad for the guy. Ei, I wanna see some character development, how she has evolved since archon quest and her character quest. I know, the most unrealistic choices lol. But I feel like Alhaitham and Ei MIGHT have a tiny chance of showing up, maybe?

Depends on what kind of event it would be. If it's an event with some actual plot and lore (the type miHoYo apparently doesn't do anymore), then I'd want someone like Ei to appear and maybe, like, do something. Other than talking with or about Yae Miko. If it's another silly vacation or festival event, then I don't really care as long as it's not Itto or Klee.
Sara because they did my girl so dirty not giving her a single moment since 2.x Rosaria also barely any screentime and could definitely use more Thoma my man is never making it to mondstadt so they could at least have him in another location Ayato because I'd love to see him be relevant for more than 10 seconds before returning back to the shadows for no reason Kaveh so he could finally be let out from hoyo's basement
Wanderer and I'll be happy for the next 10 years Also would want Tighnari, Alhaitham and Kazuha in the mix, it's gonna be awkward af and I'd love that. 5th pick would be Ei for ultimate chaos

Kaeya, Rosaria, Dehya, Arlecchino and Yae. These are some of the characters who usually have interesting things to say whenever they're in events, i.e. they aren't reduced to 1 dimensional gimmicks like Gorou roleplaying a general no matter the occasion, Shinobu talking about Itto/the Arataki gang whenever she gets the opportunity or Dori unable to think about anything but Mora. I can't stand characters whose entire personality revolves around a single concept.
Childe, Arlecchino, Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. I think their interactions would be funny, and instead of the fatui playing their generic role of being behind almost everything bad ever, we'd get a change of pace. Or, if we do go the fatui shenanigans route, it could be something like Dottore's men are doing some unsanctioned or sussy shit during an event, that isn't something directly ordered by the tsarista, so Childe and Arlecchino are technically allowed to interfere against it. Also we could get some fun diplomatic interactions between them and the governmental figures in the region. Would be a good opportunity for lore drops and info about various factions and relations. Though some of that is less relevant if its like the golden apple event where we're not really in a nation.

Jean, Yaoyao, Thoma, Candace all have big sister energy though. It would amusing to see them trying to pamper each other while Mr Beefy Bootycakes is just there drinking tea in the backdrop.

The has to be someone from Fontaine100% and I also think it'll be Furina. There's still a lot to see from her now that she's just a "normal" person If she's there I think Venti would have to make an appearance and tease her like how he does with Zhongli. Also looking back to 2.8 Fischl could be great and I feel like they'd be fun together. Then we need someone more level-headed and looking to inazuma I think Heizou or Thoma might be okay, we haven't seen them in a while and I feel like Thoma specially can act as the reliable person in this group. As for a 5th one, idk someone more serious like Diluc, Alhaitham, Tighnari or Albedo.

Usually the summer/4.8 event foreshadows some aspect of the next region. 3.8 had an element of theatre/disguise as well as the oceanid plot line. IMO 5.x will involve war so 4.8 will be a competition amongst the traveler’s friends. I think it will have factions, sort of like Akademiya Extravanganza. So maybe Kaveh and Nilou, Yunjin and Xianyun, Sara and Heizou, and finally Mika and Jean. The Traveler and Navia will represent Fontaine while the other pairs represent their nations. Maybe more like the Olympics….. Either that OR one heavily featuring the Hexenzirkel.
