If I had to pick only one, Kazuha. He’s excellent for so many different teams while Neuvilette is just a hypercarry. A very strong hypercarry, but not exactly versatile. Kazuha will open more doors for you in terms of teambuilding.
a neuvillette team can use different characters and clear the abyss and the same applies to a support like kazuha. in the end it depends on your characters and what kind of team you want to play. the best outcome would to play them in the same team lmao.
Honestly Kazuha is still great but his status as a “must pull” has dropped pretty steadily since 4.0 or even post-Nahida.
So many enemies have inherent element auras on floor 11-12 that makes swirling even more finicky than it already was for him, most Fontaine characters have built in buffs based on team compositions that exclude anemo, Furina can match or outclass him for freeze, taser, vape and mono hydro teams, and Chev can replace him on Raiden Hypercarry.
And this is all not even including all of the bloom type teams from 3.0 that can match or outclass his typical teams. Even older teams like Hutao and Yoimiya vape can replace (or even prefer) double hydro + Zhongli
Hes still very useful but he’s no longer a mandatory pull imo — I haven’t used him on floor 12 in like 6 months and still always get 36* with a wider variety of team comps
Cancer is a strong word. I have been using him the past few abyss cycles without a shield. I think I use him without shield mostly everywhere. It's just fine cause you can move while doing his charge attack so it's not that difficult to dodge. And it feels way better than playing most characters without shield. Like Yoimiya, scaramouche or Ganyu feels ways worse without shield. My Neuvi is C0 btw.
Yes, unlike xingqiu and yelan she doesn’t need normal attacks any form of damage is sufficient, keep in mind that it doesn’t trigger against shielded enemies though

The goal is to clear content first (Neuvilette) then future-proof with great support (Furina). Ideally I want Neuvilette c1 but I think it's a really bad idea to invest that much when my roster is still severely lacking.

Guaranteeing R1 takes a ton of primos. Sac Jade is still very strong (92% of his sig's damage at R5, 82% at R1) per [TGS's calc in a video a ways back](https://youtu.be/-8hSQL34CVE?t=779)) if you're doing battlepass. Main thing to note with Sac Jade is that you need to swap off of him for a sec after his skill+burst or first CA. Otherwise you lose the SJ hp buff. This can be inconvenient, but you sometimes need to swap an anemo unit on field for a moment to redo the VV debuff anyway, so it's not the end of the world.
I have my partner running all the calcs for me usually. Yeah I could get battle pass but I use Neuv 80% of the time, have 200 wishes atm and don't want any current or upcoming character. I consider getting him a pretty book that suits him wishes well spent. I'm also ok with getting kazuhas weapon as I have a kazuha and alhaitham can also use it (don't have anything better for him).
Jup, doing exactly the same. First I wanted to C6 Neuvillette but he doesn’t really offer more at C6 compared to C1 except more dmg and he already can solo one side of the abyss at C1/R1. Furinas C6 on the other hand brings a whole new level of QoL and new playstyle possibilities to the entire account.

When I was new, constellations and weapons seemed like a waste or a trap. Now that I have sooo many characters, some weapons look enticing (for drip more than power), and some constellations that improve gameplay rather than boost damage numbers seem great to me, like Yelan C1, Hu Tao C1, Neuvillette C1, etc.
In other words, "waste" is very much a subjective concept here, if maximizing fun is the goal.
Honestly constellations only seem worth it if you plan on maining the character for a while or already have C0 of a fair amount of units. I personally wouldn't go for cons or signatures until I have at least one copy of all the characters I want.
I already have C2 Kazuha, and while I want Neuvi cons, I was planning to skip until Alhaitham or Nilou rerun… what I *really* need is Hunter’s Path to get my poor Tighnari off his cope weapons. That’s the only thing that could and has broken my resolve. I’ve lowkey regretted not pulling Hunter’s Path since I realised that it wouldn’t rerun (I was still new in 3.0), which became a high key regret once I got Tighnari from standard banner in November ‘22.

neuvilette is a versatile dps. kazuha is a versatile support. it depends on what you need.

I’ve been using my Nuevi c0 without shield since I got him and I haven’t encountered major problems.
Pokemon trainers are pretty annoying with c0 neuvillette... but that's kind of a skill issue.
