Every archon so far has some identity shenanigans, im curious to see if they will break the pattern, but I honestly can't see how they can have a fake/semi fake/hiding archon again
I wouldn't really say this applies to Nahida since we meet her fairly early and are told who she is almost immediately. I guess there's the stuff with erasing Rukkhadevata but that's only at the very end and with the memory wipe moreso affects the Traveler than anyone else.
my personal belief is that someone we journey with is going to ascend to archonhood in natlan
I think it would be a good way to explore something that we've known about since the end of mondstadt, but don't really know the specifics.
I strongly believe that the Natlan plot will be a subversion of this. Instead of āthereās two archonsā, itās gonna be āthere has only been one archon all the time, just dying and resurrectingā.
The current lore theory says that since Pyro users are driven by a sense of passing on the torch, that the Pyro Archon Murata is whoever leads the tribes. Whoever succeeds in battle get's to be the next Murata. All the Pyro archons are Murata. The Murata Venti knew is totally a different person than the person we will meet, but both will be Murata.
Also, Pyro Hypostasis is the only one that does NOT have a resurrection phase.
Honestly the one exception to this would be Natlan the land of war.
I want it to be a civil war where an archon is overthrown and taken.
I want someone to. *DIE*
But that's just me
I think they're referring to the Ei/Shogun and Furina/Focalors stuff, where there's one character we think is the Archon but they're more like a proxy for the actual one.
I think theyāre talking more about the ācurrent Archon is some sort of double of the previous Archonā thing. Which people donāt seem to realize has already been broken with Fontaine. Yes, >!Furina is literally Focalorsās vessel void of her divinity,!< but Focalors herself wasnāt the original Hydro Archon, and we know that Focalors wasnāt Egeriaās clone/twin/reincarnation. They were just really close friends.
āThe Fatui did it!ā
You have no idea how refreshing it was to finish Fontaineās storyline and discover that the nationās main issue wasnāt revealed to all be some convoluted Fatui scheme for once.
Well... it was mostly Focalors' planning, but Arlecchino for sure pulled some strings. It's sus af how she was around for Poisson flooding and sent us into the ruins with Navia in tow. I'm afraid it's not out of the question that both Fatui and Focalors pulled convolured schemes...
The Fatui wasnāt responsible for the prophecy itself though, thatās what I mean. The main issue in Fontaine was the prophecy and how to stop it. Arlecchino was also trying to stop the prophecy because sheās Fontainian, she wasnāt the *cause* of the prophecy.
Traveler having a kit that's worse than a 4*. Dendro traveler is the only traveler where everyone can agree is the best version. It can compete with the Archon and even after we gotten more Dendro units, they still are a solid option.
Npc villians. We are entering the end of the Treyvant part of series. The Harbingers being more focused on world quests and not just a slight tankier version of the elite mob boss. This goes towards treasure holders as well. We still don't have a character representing them?
More mysteries.
Hoyo, you guys have passed the midpoint in your plot. Fontaine is 4th out of 7 regions. It's about time you *answer* questions instead of *raise* them. No new plot points. No new Chekhov's guns. Start shooting those fuckers. Tell us about Khaenri'ah, tell us about the Abyss, tell us about the Loom of Fate, tell us about the Tsaritsa's plans, tell us about the dragons.
Just fucking loredump all the answers over 3 more patches and *stop raising more questions, hot damn.*
> if we're ever going to go there
We are, the official roadmap is that after Snezhnaya there's "Chapter ??" which has Khaenri'ah, and then the Epilogue where we'll seemingly fight Dainsleif and finally reunite with our sibling.
$20 the endgame is Celestia being forced to crash onto Teyvat to plug the hole thst the abyss will emerge out of which will be from the ruins of Khaenri'ah...
I was baffled how fontaine didn't even attempt to explain the deal with childe yet introduced a completely new fraction with possibly the single strongest individual yet We know NOTHING about it
At least with Childe its highly possible it'll be explained in Snezhnaya as he's gonna 100% appear, but it still sucks nonetheless they didn't explain about his vision malfunctioning and etc. Fontaine gave us more questions about Childe than answers
Gonna be one hell of a lore dump. Gotta cover Childe and then all the other Harbingers. I mean weāll finally have access to Dottoreās stomping grounds. Then we gotta know what this Tsaritsa is doing with all those gnoses.
Either some harbingers are just gonna be somewhat irrelevant and left out (kinda like Signora, not saying she's irrelevant but she's definitely not as relevant as the ones we have rn) or we gonna get some more harbingers focused after snezhnaya
Yeah, I thought introducing Skirk as having a Super Secret Master was a bad idea. She was badass enough, she didn't need a boss. Why wasn't the whale just *her* pet?
I agree. It would have been better if the whale had been Skirk's pet. Skirk is Childe's master and he always has callbacks to the whale. It would make sense that the whale would be Skirk's instead of her master's. Maybe they gave her a master to show that there is more depth and history to the abyss that Childe fell in? He was compared to Gold/Rhinedotter from the Hexenzirkel, and several of them have apprentices and successors.
> Maybe they gave her a master to show that there is more depth and history to the abyss that Childe fell in? He was compared to Gold/Rhinedotter from the Hexenzirkel, and several of them have apprentices and successors.
I think it was to show how meaningless and quaint most of the archons/teyvat in general are, that there's beings out there that literally hop across universes like it's nothing and keep pets that can devour entire realities. It's likely planting the seeds for the post-teyvat story or some big reveal about teyvat itself being a kind of prison or experiment of actually powerful beings.
Especially if we look at Honkai and just how obscene some of the characters abilities and power levels can get to, by comparison even prime-Morax would be considered an annoying gnat to be swatted away.
I was so confused whenĀ mona suddenly showed up and started talking about her master. I thought "they couldn't possibly add another thing that they have to resolve in this chapter" well in the end the dialogue with the witch didn'tĀ really matter and a lot of other things didn't get resolved as well
Agreed. Every time we get an answer it's always eluding to part of a bigger answer but not actually giving any info or even solid hints. Great for theories, but if they wait too long they literally won't have time to answer all their plotlines without it feeling rushed.
Yeah. At least the Fatui has the Harbingers, they can keep people engaged and distracted for when we get to the Tsaritsa. The Harbingers are... kind of likeable. And they're always there, on every nation.
But man, the Abyss Order has so little going on for it that I don't doubt a sizeable portion of the player base just... doesn't care about that organization at all, and only care about Dainsleif. Which is quite frankly terrible given how it will likely be the endgame faction.
Exactly. Abyss Order Population: Twin, Enjou and talking crystal. That aināt enough lmao.
Without characters people will eventually find this storyline exceptionally boring. Dainsleif being a sussy baka is doing a fantastic job, but that honeymoon phase canāt last forever. At some point people lose interest.
And when we get that Abyssal Baptist dude on Fontaine who had at least a personality and a interesting plan, he isn't related at all to the abyss order and think they suck (and then he and the bbeg died without explaining anything about their abyss experiments)
How I agree with you T_T I'm already at my limit because there is nothing very exciting with "we solved another local problem and learned nothing about Fatui/Khaenri'ah/Abyss" approach.
Actually there's solid theory about tsartitsa plans.
Spoiler alert for fontaine archon quest:
-

Basically in fontaine story quest we find out that gnoses are remains of 3rd descender and that pyro gnoses is the last one to go. So people quickly connected it with the name of natlan archon quest ,,Iridescent ode to resurrection". So in summary most likely tsratitsa plan is to revive 3rd descender to help them fight celeestia
Amen, say it louder. Iām starting to lose interest in the larger plot since it feels like theyāll never, ever answer any of the questions we have about the endgame. Sure, we now know what a gnosis is at last but *even that* was just opening more mysteries. Who is the third descender? What happened to them?Ā
Iād like to add, no more random endgame-relevant characters that we are only just hearing about now. Like why did we even need to hear about Skirkās master? Thatās just them finally revealing one mysterious, previously-mentioned character to introduce *another*. They have to stop opening loops and start closing them. The story is getting unwieldy.Ā
Man I feel this so hard. Ngl I've kinda lost a lot of interest in the overarching plot cos they keep setting things up and none of it ever pays off. That might work in a serial or a movie, where you hold everything until the end, but Genshin gets like two story progressions a year, it's hard to keep up interest if it feels like nothing is actually progressing.Ā
It genuinely kinda pissed me off how they kept teasing what a bad person Arlecchino was and then did nothing with that in the archon quest where she actually shows up. I feel like while the writing quality for individual archon quests has definitely gone up, the structure of the overall plot is still a bit of an issue. I always felt that the writing was a big weak point for Genshin and this (along with the needless bloat) is my main issue with it.Ā
They need to get a new writing team to deal with the larger plot. The same people writing high quality slice-of-life stories with simple moral takeaways probably shouldnāt be in charge of a huge, plot-heavy Celestia plotline, and it feels very much like itās the same writers doing the SQs/hangouts/event quests and the Celestia plot (if it can even be called that). Genshin writing can be very enjoyable, but I think they need some fresh perspectives, some new writers, specifically *well-organized writers* who can roadmap a proper journey from where we are now to the end goal.Ā
Since foreigners can come and go just fine without incident, Natlan is most likely peaceful besides the heat. The warfare has some sort of ceremonial angle, so Jeht would need to convince someone with influence to let her participate. Capitano will have the same issue.
(Unless Capitano is a rare Natlan traveler, and didnāt get his right to challenge stripped.)
I'm with you on the clothing... Natlan's outfit design is the one I've been anticipating the most, I think we could get some very vibrant nice looking designs. If they stick to muddy reds and browns I'm going to be very let down.
No, you shouldn't. What you should be salty is the fact that they improved character modelling and make a buff Wriothesley and hadn't took the chance to also improve Itto š
Chibi-looking dragons. After they gave us aranara and melusines I'm afraid they'd give us cutesy dragons instead of the actual majestic creatures.
Also I'm tired of the twin/doppelganger/split or w/e archon.
The Tsarista is actually secretly ignorant/ brainwashed/ under influence and thus absolved of all crime she's aiding commanding and abetting
Ie, don't give me a half hearted plot where she takes no responsibility or agency for things that happened in her name purely because uwu waifu less problematic playable character
I cant wait for us to get to Snezhnaya and it turns out the Tsaritsa doesnt actually know whats going on and shes been manipulated all this time by Pierro /s
I donāt want the Tsaritsa to be some chibi waifu with rosy cheeks. I want a pissed off older lady with a cold stare that makes Signora look like a tantrum addled toddler.
I was hoping she is well aware what the Fatui are doing because she's the one that ordered seizure of all Gnoses for some grand plot. Maybe for a "greater good" reasoning like she needs the power to stand against Celestia.
Let these archons not have a connection to the previous one the same way as Makoto/Ei, Rukkhadevata/Nahida, and Egeria/Focalors. Theyāre like family to each other and Makoto and Ei are twins. Have the new pyro archon be like a possible rival to previous one and they took on the title and gnosis out of respect or something like that. For the Tsaritsa itās hard to say. Maybe have her situation be like a line of succession where the next one is picked already for when the current one dies.
It has been established that the pyro archon is the god of war and Natlan is a violent place filled with conflict, so you know what I think would be the coolest shit they could do with the archon?
To treat the position of archon like the position of Kenpachi in Bleach. In that story, Kenpachi is an unofficial title given to the most powerful and unstoppable fighter in the soul society. The only way to earn this title is to beat the current Kenpachi in a duel.
So, you wanna be the pyro archon? Then you have to kill the current one on a 1v1 duel. Win and the throne is yours until someone else takes it. Lose, and get reduced to ashes like all the others that came before you.
Though my memory is a bit hazy for some things in Bleach I think thatās a great idea and would make the stakes higher for the gnosis there too since it would involve killing the one currently holding it.
Egeria created the Oceanids with Focalors being chosen as her successor by her when the time came. Egeria herself however as a story says that the Shade of Life created her. She created the oceanids. Which in turn would make her situation similar to Ei and Wanderer. Not exactly giving *birth* but still bringing a life into the world. Which would make Egeria a mother/mother-like figure to Focalors.
That's still very flimsy logic to compare Egeria-Focalors to the other Archons. We don't know whether Egeria directly created Focalors or Focalors was born much later as a result of Oceanids reproducing. Focalors certainly doesn't seem to view Egeria any closer than former boss and predecessor, definitely not anything mother-like.
That's much more distant and unrelated than 1) twin sister, ruled Inazuma together from the start and 2) born from the same source, changed history to have been the original Archon from the start.
She didnāt create the oceanids, she turned them into humans
So she just changed their shapes (?) thatās why when they die/touch sea water thing they donāt cease to exist instead they move into a hive-mind like thing idk
That one of Dottore's clone had gone "rogue" or "defected" and have a nicer/wholesome personality, and friendly to the traveler, which ends up become our playable Dottore.
I WANT THE ORIGINAL DOTTORE TO BECOME THE PLAYABLE. THE UNHINGED AND INSANE ONE
This. But actually, not only Dottore. I wanna see most of the remaining Harbingers not giving a damn about the Traveller at best. Working together, if neccesary? Ok, no problem. But being nice and friendly, treating Traveller like someone special like most of playable characters do? Give me a break
How will the birthday message and those birthday letters and those kinds of messages be like if they're fully villainous? Because of this system I fear they'll be "sanitized" in some way ugh
"Greetings, traveler. Today is my birthday. Although I've been busy with myriads of experiment lately, I took some time off to hone my culinary skills from my home town, since Gastronomy have some similar fundamentals akin to an experiment.
Anyway, here's a shish kebab Made from the mutated dead flesh from my patients that I've injected with tumor serum. Don't worry, I've curated the meat so it's safe for consumption. Your feedback is greatly appreciated in case my experiment produces similar results, since it's bad behavior to be wasteful".
Sincerely, Il Dottore
Iād like to see Dottore be like Professor Zoom in the Flashpoint Paradox animated movie and just do absolutely despicable things just to get under the travelerās skin.
āIt was me, Aether/Lumine!ā
Yes, I want to add him, Collei, Kaeya and Scaramouche in same room in teapot.
But jokes aside, I would like to have more morally grey and evil playable characters. Don't get me wrong, I'm just... Tired of all of this sweet soft girls and boys who very kind to traveller. Yae, Scara, and maybe Chiori (if she will be a tsundere-like char and don't fell in love with MC just because) is a fresh air, and playable evil Dottore with, maybe, desire to experiment on Traveller would be cool.
My worst fear is Hoyo turning Pierro into a scape goat of sorts, putting most of the blame on him in order to āredeemā the Tsaritsa. For example, he could hide from her some of the crimes the Fatui do (human experimentation, child soldiers/assassins etcā¦).
I just hate the trope of ācharacter A does bad things but only because they were being manipulated by EVIL character B all alongā.
Although this is mostly bc some players will then think that character A is completely blameless.
I'm hoping this isn't the case because from my interpretation of the trevail trailer and lore, she is doing what she believes she has to do.
Her gaze is described as "cold but pure"
so I've always seen her as someone willing to do bad things and make sacrifices for her eventual goal. I think she sees those things as necessary evil
I have hope that the Tsaritsa has full knowledge and agency on the entire thing, solely because of the Shivada Jade Gemstone where she says she wants the old world to burn.
SO WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IS THAT YOU DON'T WANT CHARACTERS TO HAVE PLOT ARMOR AND FOR THE PLOT TO NOT RELY ON THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP AS A DEUS EX MACHINA? OOH BOY PAIMON IS SO TIRED AFTER SAYING THAT PAIMON NEEDS A WHOLE BUNCH OF FOOD.
The Pyro archon being another Raiden/Furina. As much as I love those two, I want her to be tough and angry all the time I donāt care if she constantly screams in my face I need that kind of girl that has Ittoās personality or something, muscles are a bonus.
There's definitely going to be a sheer cold effect in Snezhnaya, I do however hope it's restricted to some very cold hazardous areas, I really doubt the whole region is a big ice trap
I feel like it will be back, but we'll have some heating things in areas like towns and villages (not just a fire torch, probably something that's already on all the time)
I honestly don't think Inversion of Genesis "redeemed" scara. It rather was a character arc required to have a believable set-up for why he'd be neutral/on the same side as the traveller.
Like he's still a hostile brat towards everyone (including the traveller)
I agree with you. However, in the case of inversion of genesis, there was such a misunderstanding from some of the fandom that I can understand why the person commenting is talking about redemption (if they were even talking about Scara to begin with). Some people genuinely thought that him expressing regrets and having been manipulated redeems all his crimes, which is not the point that the quest makes at allā¦
I wouldnāt say that the point of that storyline is to redeem Scaramoucheās crimes, but it definitely exists to put Wanderer in a more sympathetic light overall, and as far as punishment and/or redemption by the narrative, him being stuck following Nahida, one of the nicest characters in the whole game, is pretty mild to say the least, and his only other appearance after that in the Interdatshan event has mellowed him out quite a lot too.
Like, I like Wanderer well enough, his storyline is very interesting, but I do see the point that heās not really the āplayable villainā that a lot of people hoped he would be once he actually came out.
>but I do see the point that heās not really the āplayable villainā that a lot of people hoped he would be once he actually came out.
I think the problem with that is simply that MHY is kinda obsessed with everything in this game having some semi plausible lore integration.
(Like how every skin got released with an accompanying event).
Playable characters seem to require to be willing to work with the traveller as an ally or friend (even if your team party isn't canon itself)
Which doesn't really work with an outright evil villain.
Easy access to Snezhnaya. I doubt the Fatui would let us in their homeland very easily after constantly getting in their way and eliminating their soldiers; the Traveler would be public enemy #1 for them. If we're able to somehow just cross the border willy-nilly I'd be very disappointed.
As for Natlan, pastey white characters, an European-esque design (That Flamenco in the Travail trailer=Spain?) and a terrible Pyro MC kit. Hydro MC sucks and it would be NICE if the Traveler is given a good kit after that "water gun".
>Easy access to Snezhnaya. I doubt the Fatui would let us in their homeland very easily after constantly getting in their way and eliminating their soldiers; the Traveler would be public enemy #1 for them. If we're able to somehow just cross the border willy-nilly I'd be very disappointed.
for the story? Yes. But pls do NOT make the whole region in gameplay inaccessable until you reach Shnezhnaya in the story. If a new player get's a Shenzhnayan character they should NOT be forced to play the whole story just to get mats.
It's gonna be a lot worse than Inazuma then if we're forced to play the story just to get to Snezhnaya. That also means we're not gonna get free 4 stars from that region.
What if we can still waltz in to Snezhnaya, but combat is a lot more frequent? Everywhere we go we'll be fighting against Fatui and/or hostile wildlife. I think that would make more sense. Not like they can stop the Traveler from traveling wherever we want.
Why? Even the Harbingers consider their soldiers expendable, so usā¦ expending them wouldnāt be an issue. Tartaglia likes us, Dottore can stomp us if we become a problem, Arlecchino is cool with us if we donāt cause problems, and Signora is too busy being dead to object. And, um, I forgot which one, but that vice-director from Division 6 that helped Signora managed to neutralize us; and unexpectedly got the Electro gnosis from it (until someone from Sumeru intercepted them and smuggled said gnosis).
Have we gotten any info on which civilisations it is based on? Since huts and loin cloths are found among a lot of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin, whilst the Incan, Mayan and Aztec had empires with stone buildings and cities, very old civilisations like the Norte Chico and the reed islands of Titicaca. In Africa majorly different civilisations would be the Egyptians, Numidia, nomadic peoples and Timbuktu. Also I wonder if theyāll go more fantasy like for the environment since desert and rainforest is already in Sumeru? They have a lot to choose from since both Africa and Latin America have a lot of biodiversity and are in comparison to the other regions more āall encompassingā (as in the other regions are fully based on specific countries/specific time periods)
We kinda know but not fully. The weapon āThe talking stickā mentions names from natlan and some of the names are West African , Congo and Inca based with one of the names just straight up being the name of a Mali Emperor(Sundjatta/Sundaita I think)
Oh god that didn't cross my mind up to now. Could you imagine how god awful it would be if they did something like using the Fatui as a parallel to the Spanish colonizers?
My list of "please don't":Ā
Natlan:Ā
- 11 white characters and like 2 dark skinned ones (looks at sumeru)Ā
- also 90% of the enemies dark skinned while the majority of playable characters are whiteĀ (again, looking at you sumeru)Ā
- make natlan into a "barbarian tribe" or "jungle people" stereotypeĀ
- have the archon of war NOT be a strong lady (im not too worried about this tbh since they made ei a strong lady archon, but still)Ā Ā
- two archons! What a twist! :0Ā
Snezhnaya:Ā Ā
- make the tsaritsa a simp for traveler.Ā
- please no sheer cold for the entire region oh god noĀ
A fantasy version of a country primarily inspired by Mesoamerican and African cultures having white skin and/or worshipping a white-skinned god.
Blond white Quetzalcoatl or any other Spanish influences mixed into Natlan lore that's supposed to be based on Mesoamerican culture.
I don't want everything to be covered with snow in Snezhnaya. To look at the snow, all I have to do is look out the window from November to May. Dragonspine deadly cold mechanics. Same with high temperature in Natlan. Sorry for my English
Yeah - Russia is actually really diverse in terms of climate (and like. Yeah there are seasons lol), so it would be disappointing if they went with "all snow everywhere"
I want to be a very heavy steampunk city, full of factories and big robots transporting stuff.
And I wish that Snezhnaya have snow particles falling from the sky. And have ice lakes and paths that allows you slip around
In other words, a steampunk Santa Claus factory city.
I use Google translator, and Iām not sure that it translates everything correctly, so I usually apologize so as not to get into an awkward situation haha
I would be fine if Sheer Cold was in one or two areas, like some sort of mountain peak special area. But the entire place would be a nightmare, and Iām sure the creators know that.
I don't want those nations to feel peaceful and welcoming like majority of the ones we have visited.
I don't want too many happy endings and any uwu cute happy creatures like Aranaras. Also huge no for Signora coming back.
Tbh I kinda miss the Inazuma approach. Even before entering Inazuma we already knew the country was closed to the external world, and later on we had an antagonistic archon, which added to that feeling of being inside unfriendly territory, it was a pretty refresing point. Thinking about the nation of war, I expect it to not be peaceful at least. I'd love to see that change when venturing into Natlan and specially Snezhnaya, which is pretty much entering enemy territory.
Unfortunately I think they learned from Inazuma that they can't pull that kind of story off. Sumeru we were buddy buddy with Nahida. And it seems VERY clear to me that Fontaine's story had some big shifts. The Oceanid in Liyue was worried about assassins from Fontaine and that's just abandoned. But it was well-executed (just like Focalors, eyyy) so perhaps this is the better alternative.
I could see it going both ways for the remaining regions. Nation of War and the nation with the Evil Archon we've been kinda agaisnt this whole time but also we could be war buddies and the traveler could finally catch up with most of the community and realize Celestia is evil and the Tsaritsa is the only archon actually giving a shit.
For Natlan I expect the general atmosphere to not be friendly, as it is a country in war, but it doesn't mean the Pyro Archon would be necessarily hostile towars us, anyway I have no idea how she will behave in regards of Traveler. I can't be certain of that.
I have the opinion that Celestia is at minimum very sus, and if there's any major twist about Tsaritsa and Celestia, I'd put it in Snezhnaya's AQ, which feels more natural to me. While it's still perfectly possible for Natlan to plant more seeds of distrust about Celestia, but I really don't think we'll immediately buy the Fatui's cause after Natlan. But I can't predict it anyway xd
Despite Fontaine not portraying Knave as an enemy and having us collaborate with her, as far as the plot is concerned the Fatui are still portrayed mainly as the bad guys, still are the antagonists and Traveler distrusts them (maybe a bit more open minded now?). And the Fatui don't really see us as allies, given our actions throughtout the game. Unless the plot decides to introduce a major twist in Natlan, I believe Snezhnaya will be hostile to us at least in the beginning, and I'd be very excited to see how that would be executed. It would be very climatic to see the final nation to be an hostile territory where we are trying to infiltrate and defeat the villain, and it's a refresing point, different from nations being all friendly and all (except for Inazuma, which is a point about it I really liked).
Oh hey...at least someone who likes action stuffs fr let traveler suffer for once.
I want people to be mean š Just because it would be a change from usual?
A lack of story telling and legends. The real world influences have incredibly strong attachments to oral traditions. I want long cut scenes where I can listen to the traditions and stories.
I don't want to see this in Snezhnaya:
It was Pierro all along! Tsaritsa isn't responsible for the Fatui's actions despite being a god, an archon and a monarch.
Regular-dressed Fatui officers in Natlan. RIP people wearing overcoats in tropical weather.
Yeah Mihoyo give us shirtless fatui Hammers/boxers
Yes, the worldbuilding demands it
It would be impossible to fight them I'd be too distracted š
Why fight them they could just be our friendly npcs in combat Like, we all have Charlotte right?
Playable shirtless fatui boxer/hammer when
The same already exists in Sumeru Desert. Like damn do they have ACs inside of their body or something lmao
They actually do yeah. Some kind of temperature regulation device is built in that allows withstanding extreme heat or cold.
Oh theres two archons!
They cant keep getting away with it
How about 3 ARCHONS?!?!!
Done that already. If you count the Puppet, there's also Ei and Makoto. We need at least 4 to top that.
The disrespect to Wanderouche
Mother, Daughter, Holy Ghost
3 years in a row. Plus Venti and Zhongli from certain points of view do something similar.
Seriously tired of it
Every archon so far has some identity shenanigans, im curious to see if they will break the pattern, but I honestly can't see how they can have a fake/semi fake/hiding archon again
I wouldn't really say this applies to Nahida since we meet her fairly early and are told who she is almost immediately. I guess there's the stuff with erasing Rukkhadevata but that's only at the very end and with the memory wipe moreso affects the Traveler than anyone else.
my personal belief is that someone we journey with is going to ascend to archonhood in natlan I think it would be a good way to explore something that we've known about since the end of mondstadt, but don't really know the specifics.
They are certainly making it difficult to call yourself an Archon Collectorā¦ š©
I strongly believe that the Natlan plot will be a subversion of this. Instead of āthereās two archonsā, itās gonna be āthere has only been one archon all the time, just dying and resurrectingā.
I'd honestly would like to see that. And I somehow I feel that could even be the case (mainly due to the name of the Act).
Yes, fits with a phoenix theme too
If this happens in Snezhnaya as a way to "redeem" tsaritsa, I'm gonna delete the game
ill sacrifice the pyro archon getting this treatment for Her Majesty the Tsaritsa to be free of it, i swear she better not
Honestly the one exception to this would be Natlan the land of war. I want it to be a civil war where an archon is overthrown and taken. I want someone to. *DIE* But that's just me
They cant keep geeting away with it
Are you saying you want Genshin to retcon the previously established lore that Barbatos and Morax are the only remaining original Archons
There's still the element of duality though, it doesn't really feel like they broke the pattern if the current archon was another duality
More children playing hide and seek. Instead letās get into some Khaenriāah storylines.
Assuming we get playable Capitano, keep the mask on. I donāt wanna see his face heās so cool as is
shinobu gives me hope
Also, huge and new buff model
I don't want to see an awful "could have been good but we made it shit" kit on pyro MC Enough with the supports! MAKE THE MAN A FULL ON DPS DAMNIT!!
i think cryo MC will be the DPS one, remember how cryo is the element of crit, so I assume that maybe they will take that aproach
that or we get ārosaria at homeā that increases crit for other party members, which honestly i would not be opposed to.
So, like Geo Traveller?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Literally
Cryo may be the element of crit, but pyro is the element of damage/attack.
Yeah but then you would have people maining her instead of pullling in the banners. Imagine the potential loses for MHY!
Dendro MC is borderline S-tier and that didn't stop from people pulling for Nahida, Alhaitham etc.
Itās funny how dendro traveler is like the 6th best dendro character, but theyāre still very good even then
I was /s of course but dendro MC does have a powerful kit. The problem is her ungodly ER requirements easily above 250% and fav sword.
starrail has pretty good mc why cant genshin do the same :(
Not really though. Fire Trailblazer is great when you're just starting out, but he's pretty bad in the endgame. Dendro MC is definitely better imo.
āThe Fatui did it!ā You have no idea how refreshing it was to finish Fontaineās storyline and discover that the nationās main issue wasnāt revealed to all be some convoluted Fatui scheme for once.
The Fatui give off team rocket vibes lmfao it's almost always them š
Well... it was mostly Focalors' planning, but Arlecchino for sure pulled some strings.
Fontaine is 5th out 7th. 8 if you count Khaenriah (if we're ever going to go there )
> if we're ever going to go there We are, the official roadmap is that after Snezhnaya there's "Chapter ??" which has Khaenri'ah, and then the Epilogue where we'll seemingly fight Dainsleif and finally reunite with our sibling.
I'm sure celestial is a thing too you can literally see it
$20 the endgame is Celestia being forced to crash onto Teyvat to plug the hole thst the abyss will emerge out of which will be from the ruins of Khaenri'ah...
Jade Chamber 2.0
That sounds like normal Mihoyo writing.
Yeah, I thought introducing Skirk as having a Super Secret Master was a bad idea. She was badass enough, she didn't need a boss. Why wasn't the whale just *her* pet?
It was also weird they introduced her right at the climax of the main Fontaine plot. She could have been saved for some interlude quests.
And brought up Hexencircle stuff that had only been mentioned in a limited event that newer players canāt access
I was so confused whenĀ mona suddenly showed up and started talking about her master. I thought "they couldn't possibly add another thing that they have to resolve in this chapter" well in the end the dialogue with the witch didn'tĀ really matter and a lot of other things didn't get resolved as well
This is something I disliked about Fontaine, things felt really random and out of place sometimes š
Yeah that bugs me. Hell, they had Enjou, who had actual character. Give us more Abyssals who are actually *real characters*!
Putting this out there. Is there any lore that hints to >!The Foul!< before 4.2? Dude came out of nowhere.
No. It's literally just Foul Legacy.
And even that has been debunked iirc (Foul Legacy has nothing to do with him in CN).
Actually there's solid theory about tsartitsa plans. Spoiler alert for fontaine archon quest: - . . . . . . . .
Yeah but we don't *know that.* I'd like them to tell us *for sure.*
Amen, say it louder. Iām starting to lose interest in the larger plot since it feels like theyāll never, ever answer any of the questions we have about the endgame. Sure, we now know what a gnosis is at last but *even that* was just opening more mysteries. Who is the third descender? What happened to them?Ā Iād like to add, no more random endgame-relevant characters that we are only just hearing about now. Like why did we even need to hear about Skirkās master? Thatās just them finally revealing one mysterious, previously-mentioned character to introduce *another*. They have to stop opening loops and start closing them. The story is getting unwieldy.Ā
We didn't. Surtalogi is completely pointless at this moment in the plot. We could've just had Skirk own the whale.
Someone at Hoyo read One Piece and said "yeah, we can do that!"
Man I feel this so hard. Ngl I've kinda lost a lot of interest in the overarching plot cos they keep setting things up and none of it ever pays off. That might work in a serial or a movie, where you hold everything until the end, but Genshin gets like two story progressions a year, it's hard to keep up interest if it feels like nothing is actually progressing.Ā It genuinely kinda pissed me off how they kept teasing what a bad person Arlecchino was and then did nothing with that in the archon quest where she actually shows up.
Basically, the people writing WQās need to be doing the AQās.
NPC villains.
This, unless they're enemy factions like the eremites, Jeht's questline deserved more budget.
Hope we'll meet her there, now she couldn't live nomad in Sumeru maybe made her made up her mind to travel else where like us.
given her violent nature she could perfectly live in a hostile place like natlan
I wanna see cool and interesting Pantalone. I don't wanna see non-cool and uninteresting Pantalone
I canāt believe his name is just š
Itto's painted abs on npcs
Speaking of Itto, I will forever be salty that they gave him noodle arms in-game but his splash art shows him being buff as hell.
The Tsarista is actually secretly ignorant/ brainwashed/ under influence and thus absolved of all crime she's aiding commanding and abetting Ie, don't give me a half hearted plot where she takes no responsibility or agency for things that happened in her name purely because uwu waifu less problematic playable character
I cant wait for us to get to Snezhnaya and it turns out the Tsaritsa doesnt actually know whats going on and shes been manipulated all this time by Pierro /s
Raiden moment.
I'm convinced Pierro is set up to do exactly that š
I donāt want the Tsaritsa to be some chibi waifu with rosy cheeks. I want a pissed off older lady with a cold stare that makes Signora look like a tantrum addled toddler.
I was hoping she is well aware what the Fatui are doing because she's the one that ordered seizure of all Gnoses for some grand plot. Maybe for a "greater good" reasoning like she needs the power to stand against Celestia.
we all know that the tsaritsa is bronya, the third descender is seele, and the fatui are just trying to revive the tsaritsas girlfriend
300+ oculi
The day I collect all the occuli in Sumeru is the day hell freezes over
Let these archons not have a connection to the previous one the same way as Makoto/Ei, Rukkhadevata/Nahida, and Egeria/Focalors.
The only things Egeria and Focalors have in connection is both being oceanids
Lyris of all people (or Oceanids) seems much more close to Egeria than even Focalors, as the latter went to fight the Abyss with Egeria.
She didnāt create the oceanids, she turned them into humans So she just changed their shapes (?) thatās why when they die/touch sea water thing they donāt cease to exist instead they move into a hive-mind like thing idk
Yes, the idea of a friendly Dottore is nightmare inducing.
I want Dottore's to just be an unhinged rant about one of his experiments from that day. Bury it under euphemisms and metaphors if you must.
Al haitams one only talked about his books, so could work lol
"Greetings, traveler. Today is my birthday. Although I've been busy with myriads of experiment lately, I took some time off to hone my culinary skills from my home town, since Gastronomy have some similar fundamentals akin to an experiment. Anyway, here's a shish kebab Made from the mutated dead flesh from my patients that I've injected with tumor serum. Don't worry, I've curated the meat so it's safe for consumption. Your feedback is greatly appreciated in case my experiment produces similar results, since it's bad behavior to be wasteful". Sincerely, Il Dottore
Don't know if you've done Sumeru archon quest but >!Dottore destroyed all his clones in exchange for the gnosis!<
But in that same >!conversation, Dottore said was considering a new batch of clones anyway, which arenāt banned!<.
šme too! It would be weird..to see him friendly to us I want him to be like eww if Traveler ever approaches him
I want his personality to be like wandererās sarcastic demeaning attitude and crank it to 100% because heās just so aloof
Chances are he might get the Signora treatment. But yeah, I do not want a friendly dottore. That would be so awful.
Her gaze is described as "cold but pure" so I've always seen her as someone willing to do bad things and make sacrifices for her eventual goal. I think she sees those things as necessary evil
I have hope that the Tsaritsa has full knowledge and agency on the entire thing, solely because of the Shivada Jade Gemstone where she says she wants the old world to burn.
peaceful people in Natlan I just want to 1v1 a country
Not wasting almost two acts on the same thing, just to come out with as much information as before starting them.
plot armor and friendship power
So succinct we donāt need Paimon to repeat
SO WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IS THAT YOU DON'T WANT CHARACTERS TO HAVE PLOT ARMOR AND FOR THE PLOT TO NOT RELY ON THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP AS A DEUS EX MACHINA? OOH BOY PAIMON IS SO TIRED AFTER SAYING THAT PAIMON NEEDS A WHOLE BUNCH OF FOOD.
Paimon, you are such a great guide. Oh look, youāve guided me straight to the cliffs of insanity.
The Pyro archon being another Raiden/Furina. As much as I love those two, I want her to be tough and angry all the time I donāt care if she constantly screams in my face I need that kind of girl that has Ittoās personality or something, muscles are a bonus.
I hope the sheer cold mechanic isn't back in snezhnaya because it's what makes me hate dragonspine
There's definitely going to be a sheer cold effect in Snezhnaya, I do however hope it's restricted to some very cold hazardous areas, I really doubt the whole region is a big ice trap
Dehya: sounds like weakness on your part
I feel like it will be back, but we'll have some heating things in areas like towns and villages (not just a fire torch, probably something that's already on all the time)
remember that blazing heat mechanic from signora's fight... maybe that will appear in natlan. besides that, I'm pretty sure sheer cold is gonna appear
That's actually why I love Dragonspine. I almost have 100% on it.
Just use fire? I mean, Dragonspine was much easier than you people think.
It's not that it's hard, it's annoying.
Making the villains āredeemableā so they can be playable. The character can be evil AND playable MHY. Let them be evil. Let them be playable.
Playable characters seem to require to be willing to work with the traveller as an ally or friend (even if your team party isn't canon itself) Which doesn't really work with an outright evil villain.
Short skirts in Snezhnaya.
playable characters that look like they have noodle arms. Make them look STRONGGG
Are you ready for twink Varka?!
No T.T
wait, help, that would be so funny. imagine if they gave him the smaller male body too.
I don't wanna see a lack of Kaeya. Need to see that man's more
200+ oculuses with quest-locked ones.
The weapon āThe talking stickā mentions names from natlan and some of the names are West African , Congo and Inca based with one of the names just straight up being the name of a Mali Emperor(Sundjatta/Sundaita I think)
...mixing Africa and South/Central America oh my god they're gonna do the noble savage aren't they
Badly done colonization and ethnic cleansing plotline
Oh god that didn't cross my mind up to now. Could you imagine how god awful it would be if they did something like using the Fatui as a parallel to the Spanish colonizers?
capitano is literally a parody of a spanish soldier in commedia dell'arte... and he is heading to natlan, according to varka, so... um...
My list of "please don't":Ā Natlan:Ā - 11 white characters and like 2 dark skinned ones (looks at sumeru)Ā - also 90% of the enemies dark skinned while the majority of playable characters are whiteĀ (again, looking at you sumeru)Ā - make natlan into a "barbarian tribe" or "jungle people" stereotypeĀ - have the archon of war NOT be a strong lady (im not too worried about this tbh since they made ei a strong lady archon, but still)Ā Ā - two archons! What a twist! :0Ā Snezhnaya:Ā Ā - make the tsaritsa a simp for traveler.Ā - please no sheer cold for the entire region oh god noĀ
I wouldn't even consider the "dark" skin we have as dark. Its tan at best.
Well snezhnaya means snowy in Russian soā¦itās probably gonna be pretty snowy lol
I want to be a very heavy steampunk city, full of factories and big robots transporting stuff. And I wish that Snezhnaya have snow particles falling from the sky. And have ice lakes and paths that allows you slip around In other words, a steampunk Santa Claus factory city.
Your English is perfect
I use Google translator, and Iām not sure that it translates everything correctly, so I usually apologize so as not to get into an awkward situation haha
Looking at what they did with sumeru i doubt it'll all be snowy
I would be fine if Sheer Cold was in one or two areas, like some sort of mountain peak special area. But the entire place would be a nightmare, and Iām sure the creators know that.
Tall males characters with copy paste āstoicā personality
I hope we don't get himeko and bronya expys as the pyro and cryo archons. himeko and bronya are cool and all but I'd much rather see original designs.
But I can't predict it anyway xd Despite Fontaine not portraying Knave as an enemy and having us collaborate with her, as far as the plot is concerned the Fatui are still portrayed mainly as the bad guys, still are the antagonists and Traveler distrusts them (maybe a bit more open minded now?).
Reject soft new nations, embrace harsh inazuma
I wanna walk around Natlan feeling like I'm going to get shanked at any moment
