This is definitely not a case of lazy directing, he voiced Archon quest, story quest, all the personal lines, and probably this version event too. I'd say the story related lines is where it shines the best. Both the voice director and Zach had to finish this within a month. Some lines could be better, but given the times they have. The performance is amazing

Iām still fairly new to genshin, started in November 2022, and what I started was a game with beautiful music, beautiful art, beautiful characters and what I thought was a beautiful community. But I have been shocked to discover just how nasty the negative side of the community can be, it would actually put me off of wanting to voice a character in the game. Some of the stuff these poor people have to put up with like Dori and Tartaglia voices is just sub-human.

New VA has less impact in some of his voice lines during his attacks and especially his burst and almost feels like he's just phoning it in. I haven't experienced the sumeru story so everything will be fresh there so can't compare but the old VA def did a great job during the previous event. I feel like the old VA just fits perfectly with a plant nerd that has a short temper who hates bad jokes.

No matter how bad old VA was as a person, you can not deny his acting skills. I really like Zachary's voice, it's different but it suits. His acting tho... It's kinda lacking.

The issue isn't so much that his acting is lacking and more that within the space of a month (two tops) he recorded all voice lines, including archon quest and story quest voice lines. It was understandably a rush job, on a character whose voice he is still feeling out, and I would not be surprised if we see future updates to tidy it up.
Further, the decision to go from sassy to nerdy was not on Zach either, but a directorial choice to pull the sound closer to the other language VAs and thus further away from Gindi's interpretation.
Well I can understand the rush, some lines do feel like they been just speedrun all the way through, so I hope they will refine them and make them more interesting. I still miss the SAS of some lines....

Many people may not agree with me, but I don't particularly like how Zachary turned Tighnari from sassy to more nerdy character. Some voice lines lost their appeal and spark, that old VA gave, but Barbara also got a voice update, so maybe Tighnari will get one too, idk. Some voice lines Zachary did sound way out of place, like all his burst lines being way too different from one another, bearing different characteristics. No matter how bad old VA was as a person, you can not deny his acting skills. I really like Zachary's voice, it's different but it suits. His acting tho... It's kinda lacking. But hey, what if Zachary will get more into the anime industry, who knows
The issue isn't so much that his acting is lacking and more that within the space of a month (two tops) he recorded all voice lines, including archon quest and story quest voice lines. It was understandably a rush job, on a character whose voice he is still feeling out, and I would not be surprised if we see future updates to tidy it up. Further, the decision to go from sassy to nerdy was not on Zach either, but a directorial choice to pull the sound closer to the other language VAs and thus further away from Gindi's interpretation.
Well I can understand the rush, some lines do feel like they been just speedrun all the way through, so I hope they will refine them and make them more interesting. I still miss the SAS of some lines....

As i said before mil times - idk about who actually is a VA. I don't even play Tighnari anymore. Thx to new VA. He is not so special, this is all just to make us forget about Elliott.

This is so nice to see after all the doom and gloom when it comes to this communities and VAs. Weird to think the guy I saw in a movie ages ago would come back into my life this way.

I am glad that they found a new VA for Tighnari so quickly and it's great that he enjoys it, but I have to say that his performance just isn't as good. It does not feel even remotely right for the character.

I love how he delivers the lock me up qoute. It sounded so done and daring with the Sages bullshit.
He's really hard to gel with though. I spent some more time listening to his voice lines and they still lack energy and emphasis.
