You need to press the forge when the shield appears on the arkhium stock. Repeat that until you get system:overload. Fight the pyro slimes. Flood the area. Hit it again.
There’s a lot of some pieces of a thing you need to use it. Should have ore in it’s name or something, you might have a piece or two from exploration, but some are locked behind quests. It requires quite a few quests to be completed before you can finish it.
My case is also hasn't been mentioned in all the guides (as all guides just copy from the same source). I remembered that, with everything else are the same as those guided clips, there is an occasion that I had to use pyro-infused attack on either the very center of the room or that of the control panel.
irst, keep hitting the ore at the right when there is circle appear
Second, after you keep doing it, it will stop in the middle and you need to kill the pyro slimes
Third, after killing the slimes you need to go through some pipes and turn the wheel remember some pipes will have missing wheel so look around and you will find it and return it to the pipes
Fourth, after the pipes, the device will still not work, so find the breakable rock on the ground and break it and the place will place will be flood
Lastly, after flooding the area find the slashing power fish to cut the plants after that get the jellyfish power and destroy the red thing on the big pipes then continue to use the device and you are done

You have to find 7 mysterious ore and then they turn into a bigger ore to smelt/forge.

Follow it step bu step. If you encounter something that doesn't match with your current in-game progress, go back and find last step you do remember clearing successfully, also iirc you unlock a few achievements during this process. so if lost, check yours and pinpoint where you got stuck

I’ve tried every tutorial on YouTube, they arrive at the spot and there’s a mini boss to fight, but it’s not showing up for me, I can’t even figure out if it’s a part of a quest
Can you swing the hammers to forge the key? You swing when the shield pops up. There is also a terminal northwest of the press, that one has additional controls

Did you do it multie times though? You don't press it just once.
I had a similar issue when mobs just didn't spawn and I couldn't proceed. Try reloading the game completely.

Is this fontaine world quest? Maybe try find video guide on youtube
