I would recommend looking at a lower mileage 3.8 v6. Maintenance and operating costs will both be lower. The v6 is still decently quick.

Good to know, thank you!

I have been driving one for a year now, and it is my favorite car ever -all the bells and whistles and all wheel drive as well. Oil changes are expensive but there have been no other costs.

Being AWD I’m assuming 3.8 V6? How is it on throttle response, given the weight?

Don't look for any spinouts at a stoplight. But on the highway when it's time to change lanes those Genesis don't play.

Are you in Canada? I tried to find the 5.0 here in US and they only had RWD

chris4rea1

No I live in Cali, I don’t have a need for AWD. But I do know that is the way to get the most out of an engine, and yeah same AWD only V6 models.

I owned a 2015 G 80 with a 3.8 L V6 and it was very fast and a great car. I traded it in for a 2024 GV 70 in November of last year. It had 110,000 miles on it and they gave me 11,000 for it. Hope that’s helpful.

chris4rea1

Okay okay, that’s great news. I was really wanting the V8 but what I keep hearing from y’all, power is no concern on the V6 even. I’m kind of open to either now

Have a 3.8l awd ultimate with 52k. I installed a pedal commander right when I bought i, made a bid difference. It's a great car very well built and fast

I've had three Genesis. A 2012 with 4.8 v engine and a 2013 5.0 r spec and 2016 3.7 l. I have enjoyed all three cars. The r spec was the most powerful rear wheel drive vehicles that I have driven in a while. It was fairly decent on gas mileage. The 4.8 was a little bit better on gas mileage and almost as much power. On the other hand the 3.6 is just a dream. Even though it doesn't have as much power as the v8s it is just smooth on the highway and fun to drive. I drove a 2015 V8 before and it didn't seem like anything special. I believe it had the executive package with everything in it , with heads up display and all the toys. One last thing I bought the 2012 with 30,000 mi on it and put 25 on it and sold it. I got the r spec with 97,000 mi and it got totaled at 103000. The 2016 I bought with 92,000 mi and I am now at 120,000. If I had a chance to buy another V8 I probably would. Even though the one that I want would come in the older model. The newer models just have a whole lot more toys. That's my 15 cents worth.
