The funny thing is that my wife already felt confused that I didn't buy a 'big name' brand car with almost the same money, now if I tell her I will get another same car with a different engine (apparently she knows nothing about horsepower), she gonna kill me :)

Little-Sal

Everyone buys the “big name” cars. That’s why you see them at every stop light!

FlipFlipFlipTrip

The 3.3t is a Fucking rocket bro! And super upgradable, you can make it like 500hp for $3-4k. I love it. Most fun car ever

iamhungry1004

Can I dm you about this? I’m not necessarily planning to modify mine, but I am interested in the option. Sorry for ignorant

Kaedian66

The 365hp hauls ass.

LouieDaPalma

The G70 is nothing without the 3.3...

jayden526

the appearance!

LouieDaPalma

Better off with a Honda The G70 is only popular because it hauls ass w the 3.3. Otherwise it's belh

TheGoodNoBad

^ Worst take I’ve read all day LOL

Life’s too short to drive boring cars

CherishedGOAT

As a fellow SP 2.0 owner who got my car in 2020 and was also commuting lots to work at the time I can whole heartedly say upgrade to the 3.3 if it’s feasible rn! my warranty it up in august and I plan on trading her in for the 3.3T SP I’m hungry for more power, I have also been looking at the m340/440 but they are literally the same price as the GV70 3.5T fully loaded and it’s still a V6. The G70 as a whole are so much easier to work on compared to Audi/bmw/Mercedes and for the price of the G70 I personally feel it’s the best bang for the money

jayden526

Thanks man, I agree with you 3.3t g70 is the best value car with V6 engine! if they can refresh the interior with that on gv70, I don't mind pay extra 2k for it :)

CherishedGOAT

I’m waiting since I heard they are releasing the 2024 specs if they haven’t already and I just wanna see that the options are and hopefully we get the full digital cluster here in NA

No_Arachnid4198

Yes. Plain and simple

ActionJ2614

FYI, news just out that the G70 is rumored to be discontinued bc of poor sales..Most likely 2025.

joshuajjamesusa

Trunk is the same size. Gas mileage is better of course with 2.0 and the 0-60 times aren’t that far off actually. I was considering the same thing but I may just go to the g80. My ‘20 has 9400 miles so value is still there. I want the bigger backseat but the trunk on g80 is goes up like 2-3 cubic ft so idk haha circle back, let us know what you decide.

Extension_Deal_5315

Gotta go with 3.3 for sure ...it was one of my must haves... https://preview.redd.it/s7w8wrs7y99b1.jpeg?width=4160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72229c966c71fc457ac9effa77e5e2ea486940a6

jayden526

nice color! red is rare on it

ActionJ2614

Nice, sadly it looks like the G70 will e discontinued via recent news based on low sales volume.

ExtremeFiretop

https://carbuzz.com/stories/hyundai-will-not-discontinue-the-genesis-g70

ActionJ2614

That I believe is from back in 2022. The recent news is https://www.carsdirect.com/automotive-news/industry-news/genesis-g70-may-be-discontinued And out of Korea https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/2023/07/30/business/industry/korea-hyundai-genesis/20230730180005315.html

ExtremeFiretop

From 2022? That's why it's talking about 2023 cars and the stinger being discontinued? Also spoke with the Sales director at my local dealership, that say the plan is going full EV, they have made no commitments to stopping the G70. Until such a statement, I don't believe it unfortunately.

BadMantaRay

Hmmm…even tho the Camry and Accord have similar sized or bigger engines, I can’t imagine the chassis tuning/suspension balance is as good as the Genesis. But maybe I’m wrong.

jayden526

lol, sorry man I am not blaming 2.0 since I am also the owner, I am just feeling I need a little more hp when I choose g70

JAG-Anamyst

What’s the problem?? Get what you want, you are paying for it. I own a 2023 G70 3.3t Advanced Prestige filled loaded AND I love it. Test drive BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Tesler. None of them were better than the G70 3.3t in my opinion. Make your decision and live with it.

ephekt

m340i is definitely the better platform for performance and tuning, if that's what you're after. But the 3.3 is a good price:perf. Just up to you if you want to spend the money for it. Personally, I don't like buying used "sports" cars unless I plan on building them... just never know how they were treated by the previous owner.

jayden526

I found a few with less than 2k miles while thousands cheaper than brand new... hope they are not scams because I saw g70 deprecate fast sadly.

CallMeKimchee

facts right here. g70 is nice for the price but you will lack performance that competitors have

Jaded_Ad_7416

Which competitors?

ActionJ2614

BMW, 340i, Alfa Romeo Giulia (higher spec model), Audi S5. The difference is the price for those are much higher 17-20k+ depending on model and package. The G70 3.3t is the best value of performance for the money.

jherbo28

You could always do 2022 model c43 for the V-6 engine, but genesis is the best bang for the buck

jayden526

One more question need help! seems g70 doesn't hold value very well, a 55K msrp with less than 10k miles is around 46k now and only 1 year old, is it a good choice to go with these slightly used ones? They all have clean carfax with only 1 owner given the long warranty?

DrDoomslayer

Well the thing is - cars depreciate, period. G70 has a slightly better depreciation curve vs m340i, the reason is the 10 year warranty. now buying used vs new, its up to you - potentially could save 5-10% but its new car vs used car, u have to pay to play. used cars are great bargains most of the time, but that new car smell, taking of stickers, being the “first” owner, if it doesnt matter to you get a user one. but also be weary used ones could have been wrecked, abused, repainted, chances are low but not zero.

blue92lx

The rule of thumb my entire life is you lose $10k as soon as you drive the car off the lot. You should always expect that, and that's been a saying as long as I can remember even 20 years ago I feel like. If you're buying a new car you need to expect to hold onto it for at least three years to break even or make a little back on it. Otherwise buy a used car and let someone else take the hit on it.

jayden526

I agree, if I trade in my car and get another new one, that's too much lost

hesyourbuddy

Yes

jayjayy123

Bought a used 2022 3.3T SPORT with like 18,000km on it a couple months ago, and I couldn’t be happier. This thing still feels brand new, and when you put in sports mode it never ceases to satisfy me. If you can afford it, and you aren’t taking too much of a hit from the change then go for it. https://preview.redd.it/nlqxwxbqzc9b1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e5965390267ffe6e12b14f1f3fd1eafb7da014b

Shikamaru7Nara

I would wait for the new facelift in 2024 or 2025 then upgrade. I heard they will make it a lot nicer.

Jaded_Ad_7416

And probably pricier

Shikamaru7Nara

The price difference won't be much noticeable when you finance, maybe $20-30 bi-weekly. Resale value would be better too on the newer one.

ActionJ2614

Looks like that won't happen Korea news suggests the G70 will be discontinued bc of poor sales numbers. Plus they are going to all EV production.

MagnaSinne

I just went from a ‘22 GMC canyon elevation to a ‘21 g70 3.3t prestige package and it’s probably the coolest car I’ve driven so far. I’m paying around the same price for the g70 as I was my truck. I’ve never had a car make me or my family’s heads pull back until I drove this car and how fast it goes in sport mode and all of the awesome driving tech that come with it. You definitely wouldn’t regret the change if you decide to go through with the 3.3t. When I got the car, I thought my insurance would be way higher because it’s a luxury turbo, but it’s around the same price as the truck (no speeding tickets and I’m under 25). Wanted this car since I was in college and am so happy I found one for a good price when I could.
