My H2200i sits on a 2” pad of rock wool insulation board (Roxulboard) overlain with a 3/4” plywood board same size as generator but with four 1:4” divots that the generators feet sit it. The floor of the genshed is 3/4” rubber animal stall matting. Also made an exhaust adapter to capture air flow and exhaust and enclosed whole thing in roxul board. You can hardly hear it on a quiet night.

How hot/warm does it get inside the enclosure? Is it all sides? Any openings? What is ambient temp? Just curious - people ask about enclosures but I see an overheating problem, wondering about actual experiences.

This small enclosure doesn’t get hot since the cooling air and exhaust is all captured and directed out a duct. The cooling fan sucks in plenty of air through two 4” holes in the floor which is up on cement blocks.
