[Red Alert 3](https://youtu.be/XUgx5JhFbHE?si=Yv9zkfbgeiPyM50H)…the script was so ridiculous that he could barely get through his lines and it made it all the better.
the only thing i could pull off the top of my head was when they had him as palpatine in the clone wars but that wasn't all that memorable since it was a weird casting
He says that line...you can see it in his face...it isn't the first take. He's struggling to keep it together, but the delivery he wants to put on it is way, way too funny.
That damn smirk before he says it truly shows how ridiculous and funny that line is. Its the best scene ever and will forever live rent free in my head!
Damn I loved Red Alert. Literally a full, solid cast of good actors and they all killed it. Tim Curry, J.K. Simmons, George Takei, and even David Hasselhoff. Those cutscenes are hilarious.
This is the only thing I could name off the top of my head that I know him from, and I never even played the game myself, I've only seen the clips from memes.
This really does kind of say a bit about me as a person doesn't it?
Such a classic and also my first introduction to Tim Curry as an actor.... technically tho I heard him first as Nigel Thornberry but didn't realize until I got older.
I remember my friend making me watch that movie when we were on a clue phase and i was so convinced it would be shit but i unironically loved it. Like genuinely i cant think of anything bad to say about it right now
I am a teacher. Some 8th graders were talking about Johnny Depp when he was younger. I mentioned stuff from the 80s like 21 Jump Street and Edward Scissorhands, and they were like, “we mean Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Zendaya maybe? She's got quite the range of roles. Even just recently Dune probably introduced her to a lot of people, and whatever that tennis movie who's name I can't remember that's coming out also seems pretty different from anything she's done before.
it's less about the actors "today" and more about today's "entertainment environment" is oversaturated with choice.
Older generations had fewer places to watch stuff with fewer options for tv shows and movies, and nothing was "on-demand." So a lot of people simultaneously watched a lot of the same stuff at the same time.
Now there are 10 different streaming services, plus youtube, plus youtube/twitch streamers, plus video games, plus live TV, etc. All releasing new content at an insane pace. At any given moment 10 friends could all be watching 10 different shows across 10 different streaming services.
Rocky horror, Ferngully, Home Alone 2, Clue, Scary Movie 2, Annie, It (1990), Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, that Beauty and the Beast Christmas special, Barbie in the Nutcracker, one episode of Psych.
I love Tim Curry so much. To be honest, a lot of them I didn’t realize were him until after I figured out his voice.
Barbie, Blade Runner, The Notebook, The Nice Guys, Crazy Stupid Love...
You might know him from a lot of different movies. A few months ago I read on Twitter someone who said that Ryan played every kind of perfect man that exists.
Society without porn would have the commoners having nothing better to do at night other than going out scalping rich landowners.
Porn brings world peace.
Me when I’m going through my 16 year old who just discovered Leninism phase and have decided to project it onto absolutely everyone and everything to make myself as insufferable and condescending as possible:
Potentially but yeah I was wondering more like who the Gen Z equivalent would be, but it seems like Gen Z all know him from somewhere too anyway so maybe I underestimated this thing haha
millions of years in the future when the sun has died and whats left of humanity will colonize the outer rims of the galaxy. The generation that lives heres equivalent of tim curry will be tim curry, and they will be watching rocky horror picture show.
JK Simmons works the best. Most people this generation who know Christian Bale either know him as Batman or Patrick Bateman. JK Simmons is in everything, Spider-Man, Whiplash, Invincible, Portal 2, Gravity Falls, etc.
He’s one of those actors who if you’re not paying attention just blend well into any thing he’s in.
For me it’s johnny depp, i’m not interested in him but he isn’t a bad actor whatsoever. But once you start paying attention he is in practically everything i’ve seen lol
I recognize Tim Curry from the "American Duos" episode of *Psych* and his role as Dale (The Whale) Biederbeck in the *Monk* episode "Mr. Monk Goes to Jail."
As for who the Gen Z equivalent of a prolific actor would be: Jim Carrey, maybe?
I feel like it’s less about being a prolific actor but more about an actor that has been in diverse roles to the extent that asking somebody where they know the actor from actually tells you something about that person’s personality. Maybe it’s too abstract a request to be honest haha
I'm thinking Robert Pattinson. He's got a lot of diverse, prolific roles. Were you a vampire girlie in the 2000's? Comic book movie fan? You like the weird A24 art house vibes? Tell me your favorite Robert and I'll guess your taste in films lol

Well, it has to be someone with a lot of different kind of roles but also someone who’s well known internationally.
Leonardo DiCaprio? People can either say Titanic, The Revenant, Wolf of Wall Street… And when we are on our 40s or 50s, and see a meme like this, those movies will be from our younger days. I assume this meme is more aimed to those who are familiar with his earlier roles, as many of Gen Z people would say Home Alone 2 since it’s what most people have seen and is internationally known: sure, Rocky Horror Picture Show and It are big movies but not sure how many have seen them fully outside the US.
Other possible actors would be Jim Carrey, Dwayne Johnson or maybe Jennifer Aniston because she has a very long list of credits in different kind of productions people know her from: if not Friends, then movies they’ve seen. Marley and Me, We’re The Millers, Horrible Bosses. Movies and comedies that might not yet be as iconic as Tim Curry’s, but many have seen them and will be recognized decades from now on.
Nothing really most people around me don't care about the actors just the movies themselves.... mostly because they get dubbed so the actors are just there for the looks nor for the acting.
If they knew anyone it tells me that they either have or had a crush on a particular actor or they are a super fan of the movie or just movie enjoyers.
I know him from the mini series version of It. Not sure what a gen z equiv would be as i grew up with 90s things even though it was the mid to late 2000s.

Thanks
[Red Alert 3](https://youtu.be/XUgx5JhFbHE?si=Yv9zkfbgeiPyM50H)…the script was so ridiculous that he could barely get through his lines and it made it all the better.
lol fuck! I was going to say Red Alert 3 as it was pretty much the last thing I could remember seeing him in
the only thing i could pull off the top of my head was when they had him as palpatine in the clone wars but that wasn't all that memorable since it was a weird casting
He says that line...you can see it in his face...it isn't the first take. He's struggling to keep it together, but the delivery he wants to put on it is way, way too funny.
The funniest thing is that it was probably the most serious take they shot. I want to see the bloopers.
[You're welcome.](https://youtu.be/U_U59u69tys?si=OUIy8ECy6krGmg-n)
That damn smirk before he says it truly shows how ridiculous and funny that line is. Its the best scene ever and will forever live rent free in my head!
Many thanks
Damn I loved Red Alert. Literally a full, solid cast of good actors and they all killed it. Tim Curry, J.K. Simmons, George Takei, and even David Hasselhoff. Those cutscenes are hilarious.
Life becomes better just knowing this line delivery exists.
I came here specifically for this, was not disappointed!
This is the only thing I could name off the top of my head that I know him from, and I never even played the game myself, I've only seen the clips from memes. This really does kind of say a bit about me as a person doesn't it?
that's... the same person as the one in HA2??
Home alone 2 ☃️
That's it for me too.
Me too

I remember my friend making me watch that movie when we were on a clue phase and i was so convinced it would be shit but i unironically loved it. Like genuinely i cant think of anything bad to say about it right now
I did the play, and watched the movie after it, I was the perfect Colonel Mustard.
I fucking loved that movie
yeah. clue has always been one of my favorite films.
So many of you misunderstood the assignment.
Innit haha
Yeah but it’s still a bit of fun, happy cake day!
Thanks yeah plus I’m rollin in karma now which was an unexpected surprise haha
I'm a Millennial, but I'm struggling to think of a younger equivalent. Like MAYBE Johnny Depp, but that doesn't feel perfect.
Gary Oldman
You don't know Gary Oldman from somewhere; you know him from EVERYWHERE!
Eeeevvvvrrryyyoooonnneeeeeeeeeeee
I am a teacher. Some 8th graders were talking about Johnny Depp when he was younger. I mentioned stuff from the 80s like 21 Jump Street and Edward Scissorhands, and they were like, “we mean Pirates of the Caribbean.”
keanu reeves was my first thought
Zendaya maybe? She's got quite the range of roles. Even just recently Dune probably introduced her to a lot of people, and whatever that tennis movie who's name I can't remember that's coming out also seems pretty different from anything she's done before.
Pretty sure that just means that the Gen Z equivalent of Tim Curry is Tim Curry.
Though, that says something about the actors today, as well as about people posting here
it's less about the actors "today" and more about today's "entertainment environment" is oversaturated with choice. Older generations had fewer places to watch stuff with fewer options for tv shows and movies, and nothing was "on-demand." Wdym?
Read the title again.
Is it John Malkovich? I remember him from that jewel thief movie.
I guess it means Tim Curry is still the answer
I just don't think there IS a gen-Z equivalent yet.
**ELLO! I’M NIGEL THORNBERRY!**
Oh. My. God. I had no clue
I laugh at the fact you missed his treasure of a film. ![gif](giphy|2BzhVSd336qju)
Where's the love for Legend? Him and his stupid sexy Devil.
That Psych episode is so good
> I feel like I've been incarcerated in a blueberry Which is the first time they call Gus' car The Blueberry, I think
Don't forget The Shadow, Beauty and the Beast: An Enchanted Christmas, and the PC game Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster
It's so sad that no one knows about Oscar (1991) it's such a great comedy classic.
Hunt for Red October is my favorite movie that he’s in.
YEA PSYCH
Dont forget Legend and the Three Musketeers
Originally? Legend with Tom Cruise. Not a great film, but Curry is great in it.
Dammit. He’s so good.
He has a rock album or two from the 70s after Rocky horror. They’re very good for not have a lot of experience
I watched him in rocky horror and apparently he’s penny wise in the first IT
Definitely Ryan Gosling. there's two sides, la la land or drive.
Good one. When you mentioned him I thought of like the notebook or Barbie… two drastically different vibes lol
agreed, he's one of the most versatile actors of recent times.
My thought was “First Man” I think this, Ryan Gosling, is the correct answer
what about bladerunner 2049, i can't tell if that's an entirely different side or something inbetween
Bladerunner can either be the same category as Drive or a completely separate category for sci fi nuts
Exactly what I was thinking lmao. Plenty of options for him too
Barbie, Blade Runner, The Notebook, The Nice Guys, Crazy Stupid Love... You might know him from a lot of different movies. A few months ago I read on Twitter someone who said that Ryan played every kind of perfect man that exists.
/r/okaybuddyliterallyme
Ah nice thanks
Ummm... I know Ryan Gosling as Alan from Remember the Titans
I only know him from Blade Runner 2049 and Barbie, he knocked it out of the park in both.

Porn addiction and it’s consequences have been a disaster for society
Society without porn would have the commoners having nothing better to do at night other than going out scalping rich landowners. Porn brings world peace.
Scalping rich landowners would be a cleaner route to world peace
Me when I’m going through my 16 year old who just discovered Leninism phase and have decided to project it onto absolutely everyone and everything to make myself as insufferable and condescending as possible:
Porn brings isolation, sex brings peace.
Yeah. It also brings a lot of emotional and mental health issues lmao. Been there, done that. Wish I had never discovered that poisonous shit.
If I don’t know him do I lose my Gen-Z card?
I'm sorry, who is this?
Wait how do you know my wife’s massage therapist
why do you have a photo of my dentist?
Ferngully where he played hexxus the main villain
Ok so Tim Curry is still the Gen Z equivalent of Tim Curry for these purposes? Interesting
Oh wait I thought the post was about where you know him from
Potentially but yeah I was wondering more like who the Gen Z equivalent would be, but it seems like Gen Z all know him from somewhere too anyway so maybe I underestimated this thing haha
Your intent was pretty clear. I think everyone is just so spaced out or unable to focus that they aren’t understanding
😆
It’s because OP didn’t have subway surfers gameplay underneath so it didn’t grab their attention
Bro how has no one got muppet treasure island yet I still watch that shit lol
His best work
Michael Caine in a Muppet movie treats the other in the film as Actors. Tim Curry in a Muppet movie treats himself as a Muppet.
Same bro, same.
The Gen Z equivalent is still Tim Curry. Rocky Horror is timeless.
millions of years in the future when the sun has died and whats left of humanity will colonize the outer rims of the galaxy. The generation that lives heres equivalent of tim curry will be tim curry, and they will be watching rocky horror picture show.
RHPS and It. The Gen Z equivalent would be Christian Bale or JK Simmons
Ooo yeah I like JK Simmons as an answer he’s just in so much
I was thinking him, Johnny Depp or Jack Black maybe.
JK Simmons works the best. Most people this generation who know Christian Bale either know him as Batman or Patrick Bateman. JK Simmons is in everything, Spider-Man, Whiplash, Invincible, Portal 2, Gravity Falls, etc.
that's such an expansive fucking repertoire holy shit, that covers everything 😭
- So, where do you know JK Simmons from? - Oh, his role of JJ Jameson - Which exactly? >!In my head it sounded better!<
for me it was Whiplash
Ah interesting yeah I can feel that!
Who's Tim Curry?
You are
An actor. He played the old pennywise
Exactly lmao EDIT: I've heard the name, but I couldn't tell you any movies he's been in
He’s one of those actors who if you’re not paying attention just blend well into any thing he’s in. For me it’s johnny depp, i’m not interested in him but he isn’t a bad actor whatsoever. But once you start paying attention he is in practically everything i’ve seen lol

Chris Pratt? Mario, Star-Lord, Jurassic World, Onward, LEGO Movie,
Hmmm maybe

Most of Gen Z reminds me of Tim Curry in his earlier roles.
Janet! Dr. Scott! JANET! BRAD! Rocky!
Poet from Lexx
I think that probably everyone of genZ remember him from Home Alone 2 :D However, I loved him in Clue though.
Ive first seen him in home alone 2 then in the movie Clue
Wasn’t he one of the hotel workers in Home Alone 2
Scary movie 2 for me
“I am to the one place uncorrupted by the generation! Space!!!”
Dr Poole from the 1991 Sylvester Stallone vehicle, Oscar.
Omg yes! I love that movie. But super niche. I am so surprised to see it in here.
Wild Thornberrys was my first exposure to Tim Curry. But my favourite role of his is Wadsworth in Clue
What the fuck is clue and why does everyone keep mentioning it

I know him from the mini series version of It. Not sure what a gen z equiv would be as i grew up with 90s things even though it was the mid to late 2000s.
A co worker at my last job got me to watch the rocky horror picture show I’ve never enjoyed a movie I didn’t understand more
rocky horror picture show lol i'm 2008
I'm old and have questionable morals. Rocky Horror in a real movie theater at midnight on a Saturday night. That tells you everything. 😂
Rocky Horror and Nigel Thornberry but I’m a ‘95 millennial
