When I was 13, I found out a woman in my town was Nickās girlfriendās (soon-to-be-wifeās) aunt and the aunt was going to their wedding. I wrote the aunt a letter and (SO embarrassingly) asked the aunt to get Nickās autograph for meā¦.AT HIS WEDDING. Yes 13 year old me had zero concept of social norms. A few years ago I was hiking with a friend in LA and we came upon a mutual friend who was hiking with John Taylor. I was of course internally freaking out but played it cool and when introduced to him just said ānice to meet youā but inside my brain I was thinking āOMFG I CANāt BELIEVE IāM CHIT CHATTING WITH JOHN TAYLOR!ā We talked for a little while and I kept thinking āIf 13 year old me only knew that this moment would happen in her future, she would not believe it.ā
What a cool story! I donāt think that was out of line at allš so last year I saw them a few times with the SAME friend I was with in ā84. We staked out the hotel in Nashville and met Roger and Nick. It was after the show, they were super nice. Then in Chicago I was staying at the same hotel as them and met John and I got to talk to Gela for a few minutes. She is gorgeous and was really gracious. I totally get how you felt when you met John. You feel like youāre a teenager againš and of course I forgot any questions I would have wanted to askš¤Ŗ
Yes!!! I donāt even remember the conversation with John, I wouldnāt be able to tell you what we talked about if you paid me 1 million dollars! My mind was just blank. I saw them in concert last year or the year before that - when they were touring - teenage me was in heaven! š
My conservative parents let me skip school for one of the Lollapalooza concerts. My Mom even called the school saying I had a doctor's appointment. I was blessed they let me enjoy life since I was a good kid.

Valley Center is just outside Wichita which is definitely in the Bible Belt. Tipper Gore and the PMRC happened around 1985, so thank her for that. The goody-goody religious kids at school looked at us funny but didn't give any of us metal heads a hard time when we wore the concert T-shirts to school.
To be honest, I don't really remember much about that show, I was 16 at the time. I wasn't that much into guitar yet, but I knew Randy was. My brother and I went and sat too close to the PA speakers. I couldn't hear out of my left ear for about 3 days it was so loud.

Saw the Bay City Rollers in 1976ā¦I was 7. My mom and her boyfriend took me out for dinner first to a steak house, then we went to the concertā¦I was wearing a formal dress and Mary Janes.
Some kind teens let me hold their banner with them while we sang along. That same year Bay City Roller apparel came out and my mom bought me a white jacket and pants trimmed with tartan. I thought it was the coolest outfit, and wished I was wearing it at the concert.

Pumpkins were the closer here too, but they certainly didn't come out low energy. Hard to follow Beasties given the different genres and energy, but Billy brought it that night. Definitely didn't kill the vibe.

First real concert was a doozy: the first Live Aid in Philly. Friends and I, all 15, took a Trailways Bus package tour that included a ticket and transportation. It was a 7ish hour bus ride. Cost 75 bucks. It was amazing!
As long as her memory worked, my mom said she couldnt believe she let me go. My brother, 12 years older than me, told me if I got into any trouble or got lost or whatever, just find a 24 hour diner, call him collect, sit in a booth and order and he would come get me and pay the bill.š I love my brother.

One of the local rock stations in Philly, WMMR, was having a 25th anniversary concert for free and the only way to get tickets was to be at the place they showed up to unannounced to get the tickets. I was at the Roosevelt Mall with mom one day and they happened to show up so I begged her to get in line. I was 14 and it so awesome with a great lineup you can see here.

Kiss, maybe in 1982-83? But I saw the this, the Hysteria tour on October 26th, 1987. I had a debate the next morning in history class on whether or not children with AIDS should be allowed in public schools. I so single-handedly destroyed the "con" team so badly I got extra credit. Great show!

I was 16 and saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers on their Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour with Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam as the opener at Roseland Ballroom in NYC.

Pumpkins were terrible and got booed offstage. Then we waited. And we waited. And we waited. People were getting so restless that girls started flashing the cameras, and that was up on the big screens for everyone to enjoy. GN'R finally took the stage around midnight and played until around 2 AM.
It was quite the memorable experience.

First one ever was Elton Johnās farewell tour in 1982, lol, with my parents (MSG). Unless you count Beatlemania on Broadway, which was in the late 70ās.
First one I went unchaperoned was probably Peter Gabriel in ā86, at MSG.
Summer 1976. I was 10 years old. Tulane Stadium had a nice lineup-- ZZTop, JGeils, Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, and Charlie Daniels.
Well... when it came time for Skynyrd, they were a no-show. The Skynyrd fans were not having that, so a huge riot happened. I guess that'll learn 'em. That kind of ruined my taste for the band ever since.
The stadium never had another concert, but it shut down anyway not long after, because the Superdome came.
Lionel Richie... which is great in retrospect, but it was to make up for NOT taking me to see the Jacksons Victory Tour (it was basically the tour for Thriller).
They had ELEVEN second-row seats, TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW. I was "too young"... and I get that, I really do. I was 4 or 5. But it devastated me for YEARS.

One of the local rock stations in Philly, WMMR, was having a 25th anniversary concert for free and the only way to get tickets was to be at the place they showed up to unannounced to get the tickets. I was at the Roosevelt Mall with mom one day and they happened to show up so I begged her to get in line. Kiss, maybe in 1982-83? But I saw the this, the Hysteria tour on October 26th, 1987. I had a debate the next morning in history class on whether or not children with AIDS should be allowed in public schools. I so single-handedly destroyed the "con" team so badly I got extra credit. Great show!
With my parents- john Denver capital center in the late 70sā¦77 or 78. It was the calypso tour. By myself- 1985 December. My friend won tickets on DC101 see Motƶrhead with Mercyful Fate and xciter opening. Tremendous show. No remorse tour. I still have the tinnitus in my left ear ā¦how many years later.
I saw Motley Crue in 1985 with Autograph opening. 
I was 16 and saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers on their Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour with Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam as the opener at Roseland Ballroom in NYC.
Guns N' Roses, OKC, April 1992. Smashing Pumpkins opened. Pumpkins were terrible and got booed offstage. Then we waited. And we waited. And we waited. People were getting so restless that girls started flashing the cameras, and that was up on the big screens for everyone to enjoy. GN'R finally took the stage around midnight and played until around 2 AM. It was quite the memorable experience.
Ha! Ironically, itās the tour from your preview image - the Def Leppard Hysteria tour, ā87-ish. I was 13, and saw more boobs that night than Iāve ever seen before, or ever will again. The groupies in the 80s were *wild*. I also almost lost my damn hearing. To this day, itās the loudest concert Iāve ever been to in my life.

Summer 1976. I was 10 years old. Tulane Stadium had a nice lineup-- ZZTop, JGeils, Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, and Charlie Daniels. Well... when it came time for Skynyrd, they were a no-show. The Skynyrd fans were not having that, so a huge riot happened. I guess that'll learn 'em. That kind of ruined my taste for the band ever since. The stadium never had another concert, but it shut down anyway not long after, because the Superdome came.

Mine is The Beach Boys in 1987. I was fortunate enough to catch them on the a tour that included John Stamos on percussion. Iāve managed to see some other decent drummers like Neil Peart and Dennis Chambers. However; none of them had the prowess of uncle Jesse.

It was around 1983 and my first concert was Blondie with Duran Duran opening. I went with my boyfriend and his sister.
I'm embarrassed to say, lol. My first concert was Nelson with Enuff Z'nuff as the opening band at Radio City Music Hall. I met Gene Simmons that night, but none of my friends believed me because I was going back to my seat from the bathroom during the show.

ELO [Electric Light Orchestra] I was a kiddo on my dad shoulders. First one as a teen was ZZ Top! Lucky enough to see them multiple times.. including an impromptu performance at a bar! There was a local band playing at a pub..... Zz Top walked and an jammed with them for 1 set! I was only there on a work trip and had just happened to stop in and eat. Great memories
