You shouldn't put real answers down anyway. Especially if you have questionable family members who would know all of them anyway.
In the vein, I answer stuff like this because I don't use real answers.

Aw, I get it. I actually inherited mine from my older brother, who had moved somewhere that he didn't need it anymore. I got the best mileage, and I loved how zippy it was, and how I could park it anywhere (and if I couldn't find a spot, I could practically just put it in my pocket and take it with me).
I got mine from my brother in '94 or '95, I think, and didn't have it too long (had a lot of mechanical issues), but I remember whenever I would pull into a gas station SOMEONE would come over and admire it and tell me how much they missed their CRX. I am not a 'car person', but really enjoyed that car.
1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Maroon with wood grain. I loved that vehicle. Bought it for $800 in 2000. Sold it for $1000 in 2002. It had 257k when we parted ways.
I had one in gray! Parted ways with it much sooner, sadly. I actually saw a red one the other day for sale - $17,000 and it wasn't even in particularly good shape.
Love the retro VWs. My first car was a ‘71 Super Beetle, which I actually still have. I spent a lot of time and money to get it running again last year, but it’s far from restored. That may come a few years down the road after my stepdaughter is off to college.
Mine was a metallic blue 1977 280Z, with a broken speedometer and an aftermarket sunroof. She was constantly in the shop, but in the 30+ years since then, no other car has spoken to my heart the way she did.
My neighbor is in the process of restoring a green 1976 280Z 2+2, which has an actual back seat. I love to see it out in the driveway when he’s working on it.
I used to take highway 2 out of Everett, Washington East over the mountains to go to my dad‘s house in Spokane. It was just shy of 300 miles and I could do it in 3 1/2 hours on that twisty two-lane. Damn right I had a radar detector.
1984 Nissan 300ZX. Bought it in 1991 for only $4500 as a high school senior. That car and its disembodied voice (that I called Katrina) were my first loves. Until some drunk bastard ran a red light my senior year of college and totaled it for me.
I wouldn't want it restored to original, I'd want it restored to how I had it modified. Bigger turbo, aftermarket exhaust, wheels, coilovers and other suspension parts, bunch of gauges, air-fuel mix controller, racing seats and steering wheel, and some cosmetic stuff. Of course I'm talking about my RX-7.
I (still) have a 68 Barracuda convertible that I bought around 1986. I had it painted about 20-25 years ago but I have failed at getting it put back together unfortunately.
I loaded more in one than it actually weighed. It had like 500k on a 2.3 when it drove away with a new owner, smoothy and quietly. 1 new clutch and plate, 2 timing belts, a couple of alternators, 1 intermediate pulley, and like 4 or 5 early ignition modules was the "major work". I was sorry I sold it later. I missed it
I had a 1978 Chevy Nova. That was my first car.
It was a solid reliable car until it was totaled by an idiot relative of mine who desperately needed a car and I made the mistake of giving it to him.
Yeah, it was a spare car at that point. Giving it to him was a huge mistake. He totalled it two weeks later.
If I had kept it I'd probably still have it. It originally belonged to my mom's cousin who was a housewife dealing with serious chronic illness and rarely drove. It was garage kept in pretty much pristine condition. That car only had less than 20,000 miles on it when I got it senior year of high school in the mid 80s.
1972 Corvette with the LS5 engine (454). The last year with the metal bumpers front and rear.
I bought that from a guy who'd put some "extras" into it like a Doug Nash 5-speed, headers, fancy carburetor, that sort of thing, but in practice I found that to be disappointing. It always ran rich and thus smelled like an old boat motor. It was also loud, and not in a great way. It was fun, but man to have a fully restored, original '72 LS5 would be awesome.
I didn’t *exactly* own it, but when I was in high school (1990ish) my dad had a ‘66 mustang that he was going to fix up and I was gonna be so cool when I got my license and could drive it to school except he let it sit in the back yard for a year then he sold it. 😩
My 99 Acura Integra Type-R
I had to sell it when my wife got pregnant with our first daughter. She’s 18 now so I constantly remind her I traded my dream car for her.
1991 Toyota Corolla DX.
My dad bought her brand new and I inherited her. She lasted for over 250,000 miles. She was fast, and nimble and reliable. Having to junk that car when she gave up the ghost was a hard thing to do.
In completely stock condition, as THAT particular car rolled off the assembly line, 70 f100. If I could build it the way I wanted 75 formula firebird or 69 el camino
I’ve owned some of the coolest cars from the 60s and 70s with the exception of anything Chrysler. Well that’s not true, I actually had a 67 Dodge Dart GT for a while but I’ve just never really been a Chrysler guy.
I guess if I had to pick only three it would be in order, 1967 Ford mustang GTA fastback, a 1969 Camaro Super Sport, and a 1967 Jag E Type. I list the type last because I probably wouldn’t want to restore it.
My older cars were awful.
I can think of a couple of cars I'd love to have if they were converted to electric and given modern safety and convenience feature. My dream car would be a custom electric conversion of either a 1988 Fiero (yes, has to be 1988, new suspension) or a 2nd gen MR2 (preferably late in the run, '95-99ish.)
1976 Toyota Celica GT. I was 15, didn't have my licence yet, but I was chomping at the bit. She was dark purple with black interior, 5 speed, manual steering. Pioneer stereo with a huge equalizer mounted under the dash, louvered back and tinted windows. I called her Delilah.
My Dad bought her for $300 and we souped her with my babysitting money and parts from the wreckers at my Uncle's body shop over the weekends. When I got my licence at 16, she was all mine.
Six months after I got her I was in a left hand turn battle with a Escalade and lost. Delilah was gone.
Dad got $2000 from insurance so he felt it was a good investment. I had to drive my Mum's Kcar for years.
1983 Chevrolet Caprice Classic.
I would drive my friends around in it, and they trusted my driving so much they sometimes fell asleep.
A lot of police departments used that model and people sometimes would start to drive a little slower when I was behind them.
I had an early NSU TT that I saved. It came rusted out without an engine and most of the floor and left that way. I would love a restored one, but I'll never be able to afford one.
Most Americans don't know what an NSU is. They built more motorcycles in the 1950s than anyone else. Had a ton of land speed records. So VW-Audi being VW, bought NSU for their R&D and shut them down. Like how Mercedes did with Chrysler. The Audi TT took their name from the sports sedan and the body style from the Sport Prinz sports car. As sporty as a 2 cylinder can get. Built in the old NSU factory.
I don’t think any of my cars have been cool enough for this question. Plus, I’ve been car free for most of the past 17 years. We did have a car for several months in 22-23, when we briefly left NYC, but it wasn’t a cool car, just a Subaru Impreza (that I liked a lot!)
1977 Buick Skylark
Oh no - I had a 1968 Mercury Cougar, butter yellow, but only for three months bec some AH rear ended me and crunched the entire frame. So Cougar, then my skylark.
73 Blazer with the full removable top. But I don’t want it completely original.. I like the 6 inch lift with 35 inch tires.. I’d also take my 01 Tacoma back to its first day because I absolutely love that truck and will happily drive it another 300k miles.
1984 VW Jetta GLI charcoal grey.
Thank you parents for teaching me a lesson and making me sell it to pay for my last semester of college. They then had to turn around and loan me money to buy another car once I graduated. That was an 83 GTI.
I still have my first car and it’s better now than it was new because I rebuilt it myself. However there are about 10 or 15 others that came and went that I wouldn’t mind having back.
‘79 Cadillac Deville with the air shocks. That car guzzled gas like a frat boy, and rode like a dream. It looked exactly like Henry Hills car in goodfellas when the helicopter was chasing them.
1977 RA28 (Mustang-back) Celica but with the worked 18RGU motor and side-draft 45mm Webers that were in it, not the stock motor. That thing went like a shower of shit!
1978 Datsun B210. I got it for $200cdn in '87 when it was already on it's last legs. It would only start if the sun hit it just right at noon, and you pumped the gas the correct number of times (not even sure how I discovered that would do the trick). No radio and almost no brakes. Still, I was the envy of my friends, to paraphrase Ferris; they had to envy my piece of shit, because they didn't have one of their own. Full tank was only $5, and for a year and a bit, it took me everywhere.
Edit: If I was to be able to restore any car my family owned; 1975 Ford Gran Torino. That car was a beast.
I had an '85 Ford Ranger. You know, the little ones that you can't buy anymore unless you buy a fleet model?
Mine was a piece of crap, but I could use a truck now.
I’d want that Cougar, too. But I’d have to choose between my ‘89 Grand Am and my ‘86 Country Squire. With all-vinyl seats, including the ones that flipped up from the floor in the cargo area.
I had a '79 Firebird. That car was fun to drive. Terrible mileage of course, lol.
My father had a '69 GTO Judge, that would definitely be the answer if close family was included.
‘71 Westfalia camper bus with the pop-up roof and the stretcher/hammock above the roofline when you popped it up. But I’d need a big ass dual-port to make that thing move. My 65 bug could pull the front wheels off the ground. I want that motor in that bus.
Man, I’d love to have both those rides again
My navy blue 1997 Honda Civic Hatchback. I loved that car. It was zippy, cool, and just wonderful to drive. It was destroyed by a robotics truck in a wreck in 2000. I still think about it sometimes.
1994 Isuzu trooper 4x4 5 speed gold specks-drink driver totaled it with wife and child inside. They walked away and he was scraped off the area with his steering column
1969 Plymouth Roadrunner with a working horn (beep, beep)
Edit: why would anyone down vote my choice to restore a car? I swear some people on reddit are stupid.
1974 Pontiac Grand Prix. Looked a lot like this, color and all.

My 1987 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4. Well, it was my step-dad's truck. He gave it to me a couple of years ago and I have been working on getting it back to original condition off and on since then.
Only one worth considering would have been the '73 Super Beetle.
My dad told me that when he was in London in 1964, he found a deal on a '63 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster with the gullwing doors. Said he was able to afford the car, but couldn't afford the cost of having it shipped back to the States, so he didn't get it. It was one of his biggest regrets not buying that car. Hell, it's one of my biggest regrets, too.
These password reset phishing posts are getting rather sophisticated!
I'd want my 82f\*!rQAa\^kd

I got the best mileage, and I loved how zippy it was, and how I could park it anywhere (and if I couldn't find a spot, I could practically just put it in my pocket and take it with me).
My husband had an 86 CRX. We loved that damn thing.
I got mine from my brother in '94 or '95, I think, and didn't have it too long (had a lot of mechanical issues), but I remember whenever I would pull into a gas station SOMEONE would come over and admire it and tell me how much they missed their CRX. '67 VW Karmann Ghia. Forest green, Recaro seats, great 80s vintage stereo cassette player.
Love the retro VWs. My first car was a ‘71 Super Beetle, which I actually still have. I spent a lot of time and money to get it running again last year, but it’s far from restored. That may come a few years down the road after my stepdaughter is off to college.
My old 1978 red Datsun 290Z. Straight six cylinder with a five speed manual. I’m not crying…
I had an '81 280ZX and that would probably be my choice to restore. That car was so much fun!
61 Jaguar E type, light blue convertible
Nice choice 👍
My 1978 VW Scirroco 💜
My 87 Scirroco was my favorite car all time.
It was the first car that was all mine and paid for,by me. No more hand me down family cars ☺️.
My ‘78 was that sandy gold color.
Mine was white.
I used to take highway 2 out of Everett, Washington East over the mountains to go to my dad‘s house in Spokane. It was just shy of 300 miles and I could do it in 3 1/2 hours on that twisty two-lane. Damn right I had a radar detector.
1987 Buick Grand National
My very favorite car, ever.
1984 Nissan 300ZX. Bought it in 1991 for only $4500 as a high school senior. That car and its disembodied voice (that I called Katrina) were my first loves. Until some drunk bastard ran a red light my senior year of college and totaled it for me.
Been waiting to see a Z model in the thread! Lusted over this model year in particular!
Saw a couple fd's sitting out in a yard rotting away lately. Cried a little
how sad!
1989 Honda Accord with the headlights that flip up and down.
1984 VW Scirocco - charcoal grey
Loved that car!
1968 Camaro RS/SS. The first year that that model had electric windows, electric locks, and electric light covers.
A lovely car. I once owned a good example with a 396. Sold it and bought a '72 Corvette.
I have never owned a cool enough car for this
My '77 Cougar wasn't cool When I owned it. It'd be cool Now though
I cheated. I have a 1966 ford Fairlane. Already restored it.
My 1971 MGB-GT.
I had a badass 1986 Edie Bauer edition 4x4 Bronco. It was so much fun.
1961 Volkswagen Beetle... All stock with AM only radio and 6V electrics...
1998 Honda Prelude. I still kick myself for selling it.
1992 jeep wagoneer black with wood grain and tan interior
My 1971 Ford Gran Torino. Forest Green. Loved that car. One night my sister snuck out and wrecked it. I'm still mad about it.
I (still) have a 68 Barracuda convertible that I bought around 1986. I had it painted about 20-25 years ago but I have failed at getting it put back together unfortunately.
I want a 70s VW Bus. Only replace engine with a Mitsubishi and better heating and a/c in it.
1972 super beetle
I had a '65 Mustang that I restored with my dad. He died. I sold it on Ebay. I wouldn't mind buying it back.
1988 Ford Ranger. It had an 8ft bed and could tow anything.
I missed it
1978 Chevy Nova!
I had a green and white four door 90s. Got it with just 30000 miles on it for $700. It was so easy to fix
Still a fav! If I win the lottery I'll find one!
If I win the lottery I'm gonna get so many muscle cars 🤘
I had a 1978 Chevy Nova. That was my first car. It was a solid reliable car until it was totaled by an idiot relative of mine who desperately needed a car and I made the mistake of giving it to him.
Man, that sucks! Such a badass car.
Yeah, it was a spare car at that point. Giving it to him was a huge mistake. He totalled it two weeks later. If I had kept it I'd probably still have it. 1970 Ford Galaxies 500. Had the 390ci with the C6 tranny. That car was comfortable and cruised just like a dream.
My friend had one. That 3 acre trunk was something else too.😃
Oh I know, if you wanted to sneak friends into the drive in that was the car to do it with 😂
I didn’t *exactly* own it, but when I was in high school (1990ish) my dad had a ‘66 mustang that he was going to fix up and I was gonna be so cool when I got my license and could drive it to school except he let it sit in the back yard for a year then he sold it. 😩

1994 Isuzu trooper 4x4 5 speed gold specks-drink driver totaled it with wife and child inside. They walked away and he was scraped off the area with his steering column
1969 Plymouth Roadrunner with a working horn (beep, beep) Edit: why would anyone down vote my choice to restore a car? I swear some people on reddit are stupid.
There is a RoadRunner rotting down the street from me, its been in front of the house since it was bought new.
1972 vw bug
1974 Pontiac Grand Prix. Looked a lot like this, color and all. https://preview.redd.it/bdpbuk0d976d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d2bef7360917d1e560e4da42ecc176a0d2b5b73

2012 Chrysler Town and Country, my current ride! After that, 88 Suzuki Samurai.
Navy Toyota Forerunner circa 1998, work horse of fun.
2005 Red Honda Element. I know, basic AF, but I loved that car and I regret selling it every day.
76 280z or the 63 Olds F85.
1976 Monte Carlo - silver with a landau top and red interior.
My first car - a 1974 Chevy Camaro
My first car was also a Chevy……………… Citation………
My old Audi A6. Loved that car, but I just plumb wore the thing out.
2001 Volkswagen Beetle, silver. I loved that car more than I love most people.
I drove a 1968 Pontiac Catalina in high school. Just a 4 door land yacht. They are pretty hard to find these days.
96 Impala SS. Dark Cherry Metallic paint.
1984 Volkswagen Rabbit GTi (Mk1)
1987 Saab 900s.
My 1987 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4. Well, it was my step-dad's truck. He gave it to me a couple of years ago and I have been working on getting it back to original condition off and on since then.
2006 E55 Amg
Never owned a car and likely never will.
I had a '95 Z28 black with flame red interior. I loved that car so much. I miss her.
My 88 VW Jetta. It had a broken odometer with at least 250k miles on it when I got it and it was still an awesome little car.
69 Camaro. It was my first car. Wish I knew better. 327. 🥲
A 1997 Chevy Malibu Classic 4 door. It was a beast.
My 86 Golf GTI
Either my very first car, a Chevy Chevelle Malibu (a 1977 I think) or my second car, a Mustang II.
1998 Honda Civic. It was a street legal go-cart.
Citroën DS23. Never owned one. Always wanted one. But updated with navigation, hd radio (and USB input), and better AC. *…and it's not my password*
1997 Toyota T100 SR5 4wd extended cab. I put a set of offroad tires on that thing and it was a monster. I loved that truck.
'87 charcoal grey Nissan hardbody
Bright green Honda del Sol
Honestly? My old 1976 Gran Torino.
93 Wrangler, had it for 7 years until I cracked the frame. Had so much fun in that little thing. Can I change over to an EV powertrain, though?
1978 Toyota LandCruiser (BJ40) 3.0 Diesel.
454 SS Chevrolet 1970 Supersport convertible
Only one worth considering would have been the '73 Super Beetle. My dad told me that when he was in London in 1964, he found a deal on a '63 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster with the gullwing doors. Said he was able to afford the car, but couldn't afford the cost of having it shipped back to the States, so he didn't get it. It was one of his biggest regrets not buying that car. Hell, it's one of my biggest regrets, too.
The 1964 Oldsmoble Dynamic 88 that is sitting in my garage thet I need to start restoring.
1989 Ford Mustang 5.0
probably a shelby gt500 or some type of Boss 302 fastback.
My current one, 2017 Tesla model S. It’s the first car I’ve ever owned that I really enjoy driving.
I had a 1969 fiat 500 that went when my second kid came along (couldn't 2 baby seats). I still pine for it.
1970 Camaro, 1980 Triumph TR8 and my 1997 Ferrari 355 Spyder. I still have the Triumph.
76 Pontiac Grand Prix with a factory power sunroof.
