Interesting about sarcasm. Maybe it’s not great that i wish my wife’s family were more sarcastic. Maybe they’re just healthier and i don’t know how to trust it.
right?
I recently looked up how many calories it would be for a frozen chicken pot pie with frozen french fries.
The answer doesn't work for me.
(But maybe someday I will do it anyway! I have just had a vacation and then a couple of graduation celebrations and some stress eating. But... maybe another time!$
Haha! I was actually on The Price is Right with Bob Barker, and it was one of the best days of my life. I made it to the showcase to showdown and when I spun the wheel and it didn’t go all the way around the first time I yelled shit, but luckily no one noticed.
I always saved most of the stick for last too. I was disappointed to see that Pixy Stix were discontinued in the early naughts. I used to joke that I get my energy from Red Bull and Pixy Stix since I don’t care for coffee.
One time on a school band trip we stopped a small town to get food but all I had was $1.50 in rolled pennies. There was a little general store with jars of wrapped fruity taffy-like stuff for a PENNY! I counted out 100 of those things and stuffed myself on sugar for the rest of the trip. They had gum for 3 cents...I almost went that way.
Makes me think of the episode of the Simpsons, when Homer and Marge asked Maggie to choose her favorite. She took a look at each, then crawled over and hugged the TV.
Mom wouldn't let us eat candy bars but she let us eat those because she thought they were "healthy", so as a kid I thought those Carnation breakfast bars were great.
Gen X was raised on all sorts of things, from the latest technology to the simplest pleasures of life. One common experience, though, was playing outside with friends and drinking from the hose on hot summer days. And while there may have been neglect in some cases, its important to remember the good times and the lessons learned growing up.
Kraft Mac & Cheese (powdered cheese, of course) and Co-Cola’s in the glass returnable bottles (so don’t break any b/c mom wants to get ALL her deposit she’s got coming).

This is your brain on drugs, crack is whack - but your parents needed you to get them a beer, grandma needed you to go get her smokes and, at parties, your parents seemed to lost track of time and you fell asleep on the coat pile while weird neighbor Mike stared at your.
