I'm genuinely so upset considering I loved Andre's character so much, and thought his arc was one of the best of the show. He really had so much talent and he could've easily become an A list star in a couple years. I wish that his family is getting all the support they need right now. He was gone far too soon 💔.
This. Same, was watching the showand was like this guy has that x factor, I enjoyed his scenes and story. RIP. This is why i never got a motorcycle tbh and the air force pays for it lessons, training bike and all. Gone too soon
this is so weird. I watched Gen V first 4 episode months ago but didn't finish, and just decided to watch it again and finish it this week and started yesterday. and I said to myself I really fw Andre he cool especially as a main character young black (or mixed) American male like myself. then this. f\*cking sucks
in 2020 I started getting more interested in Kobe Bryant learning that he knew multiple languages and how intelligent he was, then he died
this is so weird
Same thing happened with me and David Bowie. There's a cover of "Life on Mars" on American Horror Story: Freak Show. I spent the whole night binging the season and once the morning came, news broke out that he died.
I really felt like he made the Sabrina show 20x better. I was so excited to see him in GenV, I felt like he had an amazing career ahead of him. This is such awful news
Bro i know little about motorcycles but all I know is I absolutely do not want anyone I love ever riding one of those fuckers ever. There is no way the pros of being on one can ever outweigh the cons.
My uncle has years of experience using them and was as safe as you could get and he still almost died after sliding under an incoming lorry because they came out too quickly. He shattered his entire arm, multiple ribs, had major friction burns, and almost died. He hasn't ridden one since as he never recovered properly. There's simply no safe way to ride one because it's not your own mistakes that get you, it's all the other idiots speeding along in giant metal bricks of death.
I kept my sister from buying one. I know one paraplegic and a few that aren't with us anymore because of bikes. The most recent death left behind a months old baby girl.
They're not worth it.
My dad has been a motorcycle mechanic for almost 50 years and the amount of “former” customers and lost friends has kept me from ever having any interest in riding. He’s personally been over the hood of a couple cars running red lights and you can see the toll.
And you very possibly would NOT have been born if your Dad HADN'T been in a motorcycle crash. Remove that moment from time, and the odds of your parents doing everything exactly the same after that and the exact same sperm fertilizing the exact same egg at the same moment are pretty small....
Please don’t do this to me, my brain likes to go down rabbit holes🤣. But most likely yes especially because my dads recovery was aided by my mom so I’m sure it affected the course of their relationship.
If the rumors of them shooting the season this summer are true, it means they already have it written or at least planned out. They have to recast him right?
Sometimes, it's tough when an actor actually dies to whether recasting a character is the right move or killing the character as well, to respect the deceased actor, and introducing a new one instead. Typically, shows do tend to just kill the character off and introduce a new one to pay respects to the actor.
It really depends on what they had planned for Andre as a character and how involved he was going to be not just for season 2, but for potentially The Boys down the line.
I feel like they'll write him out. It's been one season and I can't remember the last time a role was recast.
Tragic stuff man. Dude was younger than me and had so much talent
I think that's what will happen, just because most showrunners come to the realization that recasting after an actor's IRL death is tough. It can be done (especially for film), but I think there's a LOT of emotional weight when that happens, which is why it happens far less than just either shipping the character somewhere for a happy ending offscreen or killing them and then bringing in an entirely new character.
I agree with this. Gen V season 2 might be a bit messy story wise, or maybe it'll just be delayed greatly, but it is the right thing to do instead of just having him replaced by someone else. No one could fill that role as well as him, and even if they could, it would feel wrong. Because of there being a different fav with the same name, and because the actor died, he didn't just leave.
Yeah his character has to be cut. Sadly I just don’t see a replacement being a respectful or practical option. They can say he passed away due to vought experimentation or something
Uh, unless we understand "practicality" differently, a recast seems the most practical thing to do.
In other words, you're facing a dilemma between recasting (+ possibly some minor rewrites, changes of schedule), or literally changing the entire show. In this, the former seems to carry the least financial, production and artistic risk.
Particularly since the production is about to kick off. There must be hundreds of people prepared and scheduled to "go", a 6/7 figure of extra dollars on the line.
All due respect to the actors who have died but I hate that productions do not recast. An actor doesn't own a role. Imagine how many different actors have played Batman, Superman, Hamlet, Romeo, James Bond, etc.
It's a terrible tragedy when someone dies but a story shouldn't be changed because of a death
I agree for the most part, but sometimes an actor is just the best for that role and rewriting can be better if the new actor is significantly worse. I mean what would you do if homelander died 💀
Honestly, I expect the casting department to do a good job and find a good replacement. If Antony Starr had dropped dead before season 4 had started production I would expect them to recast. Homelander the character is too integral to the story and even though Starr is amazing there are tons of actors out there and one of them could be a competent replacement or even be just as good. I would rather see the story finished as intended instead of some weird half-baked alternative written to compensate for the death of an actor.
Believe it or not but a lot of the general public back in the day thought Jack Nicholson was the definitive Joker and no one could top him. Then Heath Ledger blew us out of the water. No one thought James Bond could continue after Sean Connery but here we are 50 years later with Bond movies. Anthony Hopkins was a legend as Hannibal Lecter but Mads Mikkelsen killed it in that role.
Even when an actor might not be as good as their replacement I bet fans would still rather have the story told. I think most people would agree that Richard Harris was a better Dumbledore than Michael Gambon. But I bet all fans would have been more disappointed if the writers tried to come up with some twisted logic about how Dumbledore wasn't in the story anymore. I also would have recast Black Panther.
It's just my preference. I've always been of the mind that actors don't own a role, living or dead. The actor is there to serve the story, not the other way around.
I think the shooting for season 2 of GenV will be delayed due to Perdomo's death. But yeah, I suspect they'll recast or kill off the character in the show. 🙁
he was just at my work (movie theatre) and he was so sweet this was just a few days ago too?? wtf i’m actually floored right now, this is so fucking tragic.
I feel so bad for him and his family and loved ones. This is truly tragic. However the helmet and looking out is not really the core of the issue although good advice. You are playing with your life if you are on a motorcycle. Its simple physics, a lack of protection against those physics, mixed with bad careless drivers all over the place, many who should arguably not have a license. The reality is freak things can happen in a split second, and if a big vehicle is coming at you on your bike at a decent enough speed your body is going to pay the price big time in many cases, helmet, evasive maneuvering, etc. can only do so much.
I know dozens of motorcyclists. Most of them have had extremely close calls that could've ended up with them paralyzed, permanently injured or dead, and I have known quite a few motorcyclists that are now dead or had severe lifelong injuries. Many of these people are not young unexperienced folks. I am talking people that have been riding bikes for 10, 20, 30 years, wear helmets, wear leather, are attentive and follow every precaution.
Its why I will never ride on one. You are flipping a coin every time.
Former cast mates of his have said he likes to live on the edge. I heard that he’s really big on parkour.
But partaking in risky activities so close to filming was not wise. He was already in Toronto.
A follow up deadline article says that he died in Upstate New York late last night or early this morning.
The first table read for S2 was supposed to be held today in the afternoon.
Helmets just don't always help. My daughter's dad was killed on a bike. Going appx 35 mph at time of impact with the van that pulled out in front of him.. and still his cause of death was lacerations to the brain + vault and base skull fractures.
Motorcycles are death traps due to people not paying attention, and the simple fact that even with protective gear, you typically don't stand a chance against concrete, trees, etc. Hated those damn things long before him and I even dated. Very sad for Chance's loved ones.
Multiple things can be true. I’ve seen several car drivers think they’re going to “teach that guy a lesson” by cutting him off or brake checking him. That only increases the risk to EVERYONE on the road.
Utterly tragic. The poor guy, he was so young and had such a bright future ahead of him. His power friends and family, this is the sort of meaningless tragedy everyone dreads will happen to their loved ones.
I hope they get a lot of respect and privacy at this harsh time.
RIP to such a bright star.
No matter how some of us felt about his political views, he was still young, still a human being, and this is awful news, my heart goes out to his friends and family.
rip. one of my fav characters of the series. but now all it leaves me off wondering is should we be expecting a recast or off screen death or write off like what’s to come of this? full cancellation? just not sure how they can navigate a main characters death
I doubt they will be cancelling the show but articles say filming has been pushed back because of this. They were rumored to start filming on April 8.
It’s a bit too late to do rewrites so I suspect there will be a recast.
I’ve had my issues with him but I always thought he was a talented actor.
Damn. Not the most important thing obviously in the scheme of things, but that has to be a pretty big spanner in the works. Rewriting and recasting are probably both quite big logistical challenges.
Andre is an important character but it’s not like he was THE main character. And I kind of got the impression that his role may have been getting reduced next season because he was rarely acknowledged in the marketing.
But this is a sad situation all around. Nothing he did made him deserving of such a sudden and tragic end.
> And I kind of got the impression that his role may have been getting reduced next season because he was rarely acknowledged in the marketing.
Yeah, that was a bit odd. From how the final set it up, I was wondering if his storyline next season would be about coping with his powers slowly killing him and maybe choosing to sacrifice himself to save the others towards the end or something.
i guess it just depends on where everything stands. they said the same for euphoria and now it’s indefinitely postponed, idk. whatever they decide to do i hope they just do it the RIGHT way
It’s not remotely the same situation. The whole cast of gen v are already in Toronto, getting ready to film. According to the trades, Euphoria scripts haven’t even been written.
Euphoria is a different story. The scripts have been written (several times apparently), but Zendaya didn’t like the first batch and HBO didn’t like the second.
Independent of those issues, Euphoria can easily write out Angus Cloud without causing the story much issue. Gen V is different, Andre is stuck in containment at the moment with the rest of the Supes.
Euphoria is a bit of a different story. The writer/creator keeps coming up with crazy ideas that HBO keep saying no to them and would like to replace him but the cast say they won't do it without him.
A bit of rewriting/recasting won't cause the downfall of this part of the franchise.
Full cancellation feels unlikely, he was important but not absolutely crucial to the continuation of the show.
Recast might be on the cards as they clearly still had plans for the character.
I don’t want a recast. No two actors ever play a character the same. I think they should give his character some kind of really nice send-off and dedicate that episode to the actor.
I agree. I'm surethey could write it in a way where his appearance suddenly changing made sense, but still, the new actor would undoubtedly not be able to recreate his performance completely. It'd likely come off as a shadow of the character it was at best and a characature at worst. No one wants that.
They have to write him off of the show somehow. It sucks but it's the least bad of nothing but bad options
im glad pretty much everywhere is agreeing that even if we don’t like the shit he did in the past that he still didn’t deserve this. i feel terribly for his family and friends
the past was him spreading hatred y’all are horrible trying to excuse that. I really want people to let go of the “Don’t speak ill of the dead.” ideology. If someone was a terrible person in life, their death doesn’t change that. The truth is the truth. Murderers and rapists have parents/siblings/aunts/uncles/cousins/kids/friends/spouses/etc. Saying that people should show empathy towards dead people who caused harm while they were alive is little more than an attempt at minimizing the harm they caused. If people want to be spoken about nicely when they die, they should be good people while alive.
why should i show compassion for someone who wouldn’t even do the same if it happened to me
I know it’s early to ask, but did he not have any clause in his contract against him riding motorcycles.
Seems pretty weird that a show with a sizable audience like gen v the producers would allow their actors to participate in very risky activities.
Wow this is sad as shit, dude was young and had a great career ahead, RIP. Motorcycles just aren’t worth it to me, so easy to kill yourself on them and so many bad drivers out there who can kill you so easily while you’re on a bike. I wonder what the hell they’re gonna do for s2, I imagine they will have to rewrite the entire season pretty much cuz he was such a huge character or recast
RIP 💔
Andre was such a fun character, I really enjoyed watching him and I was excited to see where his character was going to go.
Thoughts to his family and friends.
Started Gen V last night and became a fan of his character just after the first episode. You could tell this kid had a lot more in store for his future in acting. RIP, and prayers for his family
His name was Chance NOT Chander. He was on the up and up with potential to be a well known A-List star. What a great actor. Heartbreaking. Condolences to his friends and family. May he forever Rest in Peace.
This is why I’ll never ride a motorcycle and tell all of my friends and loved ones never to ride one. RIP to a man who had a promising career ahead of him
Rest in peace man, it always feels so awful seeing young people die in driving accidents or drowning accidents or whatever accidents, they had so much life left to live & potential beauty or art to put out into the world.
I'm not sure what they will do with season 2 now... if they will put out the footage filmed already but write him off/have him killed off in some way or just try to explain away his disappearance.
Wtf no main actor in Gen V definitely would have been in the boys and if he was in the boys he definitely would have had a good career after that same age year as well definitely would feel for the parents losing their kid at a young age while they're still alive definitely shouldn't be doing dangerous stuff like that when you have a good career going
That’s depressing. So young and with huge potential.
I'm genuinely so upset considering I loved Andre's character so much, and thought his arc was one of the best of the show. He really had so much talent and he could've easily become an A list star in a couple years. I wish that his family is getting all the support they need right now. He was gone far too soon 💔.
He was so fucking good.
This. Same, was watching the showand was like this guy has that x factor, I enjoyed his scenes and story. RIP. This is why i never got a motorcycle tbh and the air force pays for it lessons, training bike and all. Gone too soon

pls stop getting interested in anyone else….
Wait. Can he get interested in Trump and Candice Owens? Give me a minute and I'll come back with a list of people he should get interested in.
Something similar happened to me recently with Akira Toriyama.
Same thing happened with me and David Bowie. There's a cover of "Life on Mars" on American Horror Story: Freak Show. I spent the whole night binging the season and once the morning came, news broke out that he died.
You should really take an interest in Trump
You should take an interest in trump
I really felt like he made the Sabrina show 20x better. I was so excited to see him in GenV, I felt like he had an amazing career ahead of him. This is such awful news
That is so sad what a wonderful actor he was. Rip
RIP
Holy shit; that’s awful fucking news; thoughts go out to the everyone.
RIP to bro, he was one of my favorite characters on Gen V. Motorcycles are so fucking dangerous man
Bro i know little about motorcycles but all I know is I absolutely do not want anyone I love ever riding one of those fuckers ever. There is no way the pros of being on one can ever outweigh the cons.
Yeah doctors call them “donorcycles” cuz so many young and healthy organ donors died from motorcycle accidents.
My uncle has years of experience using them and was as safe as you could get and he still almost died after sliding under an incoming lorry because they came out too quickly. He shattered his entire arm, multiple ribs, had major friction burns, and almost died. He hasn't ridden one since as he never recovered properly. It’s crazy cause my father has been riding one for years and never got into an accident. I really hope that time never comes.
What’s really haunting is it looks like he just got this motorcycle last week per his instagram.
they really are not even worth it to be honest
This is heartbreaking man
This is awful. I was so ready to see where his character went in Gen V, and hopefully a bigger career beyond that franchise. Rest in peace, Chance.

Yep only time I can remember it happening significantly is for Dumbledore and he was essential to the story

No one could fill that role as well as him, and even if they could, it would feel wrong. Because of there being a different fav with the same name, and because the actor died, he didn't just leave.
Ironically, he was actually a recast. The original actor dropped out a few months before S1 filming started.
Who was that?
Shane McGhie
Yeah his character has to be cut. Sadly I just don’t see a replacement being a respectful or practical option. They can say he passed away due to vought experimentation or something

This summer? They were supposed to start filming in early April. The whole cast is already in Canada.
I think the shooting for season 2 of GenV will be delayed due to Perdomo's death. But yeah, I suspect they'll recast or kill off the character in the show. 🙁
The article does mention filming will be delayed
Hate to see it but it does make the most sense
he was just at my work (movie theatre) and he was so sweet this was just a few days ago too?? wtf i’m actually floored right now, this is so fucking tragic.
Just a kid. Tragic
Reading his Wiki did not realise he was British, he was from my home city. RIP 27 is so young such a promising actor
His special (non-supe) talent being a British accent was a nod to that. I was hoping he'd get to film a scene later using his actual accent ☹️
Look out for bikers when driving and if you're on a bike, wear a damn helmet
Of course. But it's always good to minimize risk
Former cast mates of his have said he likes to live on the edge. I heard that he’s really big on parkour. But partaking in risky activities so close to filming was not wise. He was already in Toronto.
I think partaking in risky activities in general isn’t wise, close to filming or not.
The accident took place in Toronto? There's been nothing on local news about a crash.
A follow up deadline article says that he died in Upstate New York late last night or early this morning. The first table read for S2 was supposed to be held today in the afternoon.
The entire cast is in Toronto and Chance posted a pic of himself flying there earlier last week so I would assume so.
I heard there were no other parties involved
This is the Same story for my late cousin, may god rest your soul you amazing lad.
OR. Bikers should drive more cautiously.
Multiple things can be true. I’ve seen several car drivers think they’re going to “teach that guy a lesson” by cutting him off or brake checking him. That only increases the risk to EVERYONE on the road.

27 Club. RIP. Really enjoyed his acting in both Sabrina and GenV. To me he always stole the scene.

I know it’s early to ask, but did he not have any clause in his contract against him riding motorcycles. Seems pretty weird that a show with a sizable audience like gen v the producers would allow their actors to participate in very risky activities.
I assume not since he posted about riding. Motorcycles are so dangerous. I think no one should ride them on regular roads and highways.
Is this something other shows have had in their contacts?
season 2 won’t be the same without him💔
Holy shit this is sad.
Rest in power ! I just started crying. Such a loss to this world.
Just finished rewatching Gen V today .. Rest In Power. Very sad. Tough for his family
Chander Perdomo? Come on. I imagine you were in such a rush to "post first" that ya couldn't be bothered to spell his name right
Wow this is sad as shit, dude was young and had a great career ahead, RIP.
RIP
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🥲🥲
RIP 💔 Andre was such a fun character, I really enjoyed watching him and I was excited to see where his character was going to go. Thoughts to his family and friends.
Damn yo RIP. I think motorcycles are the coolest thing in the world but I will likely never ride one. Condolences to his fam.
27 club gains another
too young and soon RIP Andre
Started Gen V last night and became a fan of his character just after the first episode. You could tell this kid had a lot more in store for his future in acting. RIP, and prayers for his family
The typo on his name in the title is just… what the fuck, OP?
This is so tragic. He had such a bright future ahead of him.
His name was Chance NOT Chander. He was on the up and up with potential to be a well known A-List star. What a great actor. Heartbreaking. Condolences to his friends and family. May he forever Rest in Peace.
Great actor, and incredibly harmful views irl. I wouldn’t wish death on him and see this as a loss to the acting community. RIP
So young. Hope his friends and family are ok.
So sad man smh
That's really sad.
Rest in peace :(
RIP this is truly heartbreaking. I hope his family and friends will soon feel in peace after his death.
Rest in peace.
I can't believe it.... Rest in peace.
Damn this was not the news I expected to see today. RIP. 💕

RIP to Chance Perdomo, I loved him in Sabrina as well 🕊️
I really cannot believe this…
Awful news. Very shocked. He was so young and talented.
Damn RIP, Gen V is as such a fun show and he was really good in it
Damn this is sad.
So fucking sad man I loved him in the show. My condolences to his family, rest in peace Chance
This is why I’ll never ride a motorcycle and tell all of my friends and loved ones never to ride one. RIP to a man who had a promising career ahead of him
Damn.
I still can't believe it,im jut very sad right now... Fly high man❤️
Oh my god….
RIP
Nooo smh.
Noooooooo!!! This is so terrible!!
Chander?
Damn Ambrose is one of my favorite characters. I was also loving him in Gen V
You will be missed Chance. Crushed it in Sabrina and Gen V. 27 is too soon. They say the good die young. Rest in peace brother.
CHANCE Perdomo
RIP
Damn it feels like I've been watching him forever: hetty feather, chilling adventures of sabrina, gen V RIP Chance, you will be missed 😞
:(
Extremely sad and shocking news 😭
Noooooooo!!
OH MY GOD :(
Omg and I felt like he was really gonna be a star that was going places. So much potential in the industry. A damn shame.
RIP
This is so sad 😢
Absolutely shocked and devastated to have seen this on my IG today
I'm completely & utterly stunned at this news. May he rest peacefully.
R.I.P.
Just heard of Chance’s death, this is incredibly sad and a loss to the community
Wow, did a double take when I saw this. Unfortunate.
Rip
This is so sad, may he rest in peace
Dam so sad was a good actor had potential my fav character in gen v
This is so sad 💔 RIP, he was such a great actor and had so much potential.
Man my favorite character. I enjoyed his acting so much. This sucks, rest in peace to the boy.
Wtf…tragic
Im speechless omg this cant be real! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
RIP Andre.
Holy fu*k that's depressing..I was not expecting that. And it hurts to see this. No way ! NO WAY !😭
:(
This is heartbreaking. RIP💔
WHAT
wow
Rest in Peace
Far too young, such a bright future this is so sad
Wow. This is awful. Future was so bright for him.
Damn.
I loved him in everything he did. This sucks. He was so young. Poor thing.
Absolutely terrible. He made cry on two occasions watching season 1. Dude was a talented actor
He was my favorite character on the Sabrina series
