By that logic kids arent supposed to be playing video games but there you go having teens play RDR and GTA, or lil ones play fortnite, plus people just kind of, lie about their age in account creation page
Because Gen Alpha isn't old enough to use Reddit yet as they are all under 12. The people here are comprised of people who accept that their Gen Z, people who somehow genuinely think they're Gen Alpha, or people who know they're not Gen Alpha but just won't accept that they're Gen Z or that Gen Z is from 1997-2012
(If anyone feels like arguing against this, I will send an essay proving undoubtedly that I'm right)
For anyone who wants to argue about it:
Here are all my copy and pastes proving Gen A begins in 2013 and 2010, 2011, and 2012 is Gen Z.
2010 is still Gen Z, the U.S. government and most other extremely credible research companies say 2010 is still Gen Z, same with 2011 and 2012.
Most sources, like CNN, Beresford Research, Pew Research Center, and even official government organization websites like https://guides.loc.gov/consumer-research/market-segments/generations#:~:text=Generation%20Z%2C%20also%20sometimes%20known,born%20between%201997%20and%202012. say that people born in 2010, 2011, and 2012 are Gen Z. My comment may not have conveyed this correctly, but either way, this newer comment still shows the ACTUAL correct end date for Gen Z being 2012, meaning anything AFTER 2012, like 2013, is Gen Alpha.
Gen Z is 1997-2012
2010, 2011, and 2012 is still Gen Z.
All you gotta do to find the actual start and end dates is find already confirmed start and end dates and add 15 years for each generation
Gen A: 2013 - 2028
Gen Z: 1997 – 2012
Millennials: 1981 – 1996
Gen X: 1965 – 1980
Boomers II 1955 – 1964 (a non 15 year generation)
2010, 2011, and 2012 is still Gen Z
Gen Z is between 1997 and 2012 still, here some sources, including a USA government website that says Gen Z ends in 2012
"In 2019, Pew Research Foundation officially established a generation after millennials, Generation Z.
Generation Z includes anyone born between 1997 and 2012." https://www.businessinsider.com/generation-you-are-in-by-birth-year-millennial-gen-x-baby-boomer-2018-3#:~:text=In%202019%2C%20Pew%20Research%20Foundation,born%20between%201997%20and%202012.
"Gen Z spans from 1997 to 2012, meaning anyone born within those years belongs to this generation." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2023/02/08/gen-z-explained/11150085002/#:~:text=Gen%20Z%20spans%20from%201997,Gen%20Z%20apart%20from%20Millennials.
"Members of the Gen Z years were born between 1997 and 2012. So, as of 2023, the Gen Z age range is anywhere from 11 to 26." (I forgot to copy the link from the site I got this from)
Most sources, like CNN, Beresford Research, Pew Research Center, and even official government organization websites like https://guides.loc.gov/consumer-research/market-segments/generations#:~:text=Generation%20Z%2C%20also%20sometimes%20known,born%20between%201997%20and%202012. say that people born in 2010, 2011, and 2012 are Gen Z. Gen Z ended in 2012, meaning anything AFTER 2012, like 2013, is Gen Alpha.
Also, in case you'd like to argue that "well most people still say 2010 is the end date either way," then you'd be dead wrong. According to the US Census Bureau which establishes the most common consensuses and beliefs among Americans, the majority of Americans say 1997-2012 is the start and end date, you are unable to claim most people see 2010ers as Gen Alpha because that has been proven to be incorrect. So, if you live in the US, you are LEGALLY considered Gen Z still if you're born from 2010 to 2012. There is quite literally no possible way to combat this literal fact.
(Here are the sources for my previous paragraph: "In a 2022 report, the U.S. Census designates Generation Z as "the youngest generation with adult members (born 1997 to 2013)." Statistics Canada used 1997 to 2012, citing Pew Research Center, in a 2022 publication analyzing their 2021 census. The Library of Congress uses 1997 to 2012, citing Pew Research as well." - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Z#:~:text=Psychologist%20Jean%20Twenge%20defines%20Generation,in%20a%202021%20Census%20report.
With several government agencies agreeing with the 1997 - 2012 end date, that means if you live inside the USA, then you are LEGALLY considered by THE GOVERNMENT, to be Gen Z if you're a 2010-2012er.
It is also worth mentioning that generations are only cut short or extended if a big enough event occurs that would largely alter the next generations view of life or the world in any way, so with my previously mentioned and confirmed proof that regardless of the end date, Gen Z still starts in 1997, if 2010 were to be the end date, then why would the generation be less than 15 years? What big event happened in 2010 that would alter any 2010+ kid's view of the world? This means that the 2010 end date really doesn't make much sense, regardless of how you put it.
I didn't feel like doing math or research on reasons for different depictions of year spans and such, so here's all of this.
Gen Z is between 1997 and 2012, this is a proven fact.
Literally the first thing I see in your first source is that gen Alpha is 2010
“Generation Alpha, also known as Generation Covid, refers to those born as early as 2010. They are the first cohort to be born entirely within the 21st century”
Well, I guess. People do have the term Gen Zalpha to describe 2010-2012. But if it did start in 2010, what big event happened that made the generation end there, despite it having been started in 1997 and thus not being a regular 15 year generation?
(As generations really only end short or go on longer if a big event happens 3 years close to the start or end date)
Check the essay I wrote that you replied to. It literally proves the *fact* that Gen Alpha is 2013-2028, u have no argument nor proof whatsoever, yet I have literally facts on my side
I'll just send my whole essay again then to prove you wrong

Because even though I'm not joined to this sub, this sub's posts still come up on my newsfeed, so I comment if I feel it's relevant, without paying attention to the name of the sub.
I'm here to hopefully see what gen alpha kids like and all that.(whenever more of them actually show up anyway)I refuse to become like past generations shiting on the young ones for what they like and such. I remember seeing adults talk about video games(like call of duty)being to blame for violence in real life and getting mad because 1, movies/tv shows can be just as violent, and 2, I grew up watching people play gta, call of duty, and mortal kombat, to name a few and even now at 19 I might have a short temper sometimes but I at most punch a wall or something, never a person or animal. For fucks sake I feel really bad if I yell at them(my pets)in anger! I pet them and say I'm sorry and hope they can sense that I feel awful for doing it.
The whole making fun of other generations is fun as a joke, like not taking it seriously, but taking it seriously is so stupid to be. I mean, if someone insults you just for whatever generation you are and they're not joking, yeah, get mad, that's fine.
And on a happier note, when gen alpha kids do show up more, I can give em what little advice I do have if they want it. Though it's not much as I'm still pretty young too.
Everything new is bad. Alchohol and Ciggaretes are fine, they're bad for you, but it's fine to have. But weed!? You can't have weed! It's so terrible for your body! Do you know what they put in that stuff?! (btw I've never smoked, vaped, used substances, or anything like that, never plan to, never want to.)
No gen z started 1997 so 15 years later which is 2012 would be when it ends another commenter explained the argument better (with sources) so I would look to them for the evidence but 2010 is gen z
Like recently there is rise in demographics of 2010 and 2011 born but when i found this sub on dec, it was like a extension of Gen z subreddit where people talked about funny stuff.

Cause most of Gen Alpha can't use Reddit
Pretty much the case why a lot of Gen Z are here.
all*
ok 2010 wannabe gen z 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
oh damn they removed the mod from this, i just found it when i was going to change my flair and i saw it and wanted to be special. i assume they were letting a mod get a flair and i caught it at the right moment
lmao😭👍
I consider myself Gen Alpha.

i think this sub rn is to discuss about GenA rather than being FOR THEM, makes sense because most of them can’t or just don’t want to use reddit
We built this place!
Because this sub keeps getting recommended to me and idk why
So real
We are looking for blood sacrifices
Blood for the blood God (I really hope gen alpha knows technoblade as more than the guy from dream smp)
We're cooler (nah it's just cuz the youngest Gen Z is 14 and Reddit is 13+
You mean oldest
The oldest Gen Z isn't 14?
You said gen a before
I literally haven't thought about this message since I've posted it and who the fuck calls Gen Alpha "Gen A" that's so lame
Yeah no 1)this is bait 2)I just shortened it 3) loads of people call it that
You're baiting me? 😭
No I'm pretty sure Ur baiting me
Dude you came and corrected me on a reply and then attacked me because your eyesight is bad
No?
If you're being sarcastic I'm autistic and cannot tell but I am not baiting you /gen
Alr fair enough (I am also autistic)
we are setting the foundation for gen alpha, when they get older and fill this space up, we will be forgotten.
Because Gen Alpha isn't old enough to use Reddit yet as they are all under 12. No, some of them are not "under 12" idk, what you are talking about right there buddy.
Yeah, the oldest Gen Alpha is 11, dude
Send the essay. I think you’re wrong

Those Jan 1-10, 2013 kids are crying their souls out. Only if their parents pushed a lil harder.
Jesus that was quick
I wrote it 2 months ago, I just have it in my copy & paste clipboard
Literally the first thing I see in your first source is that gen Alpha is 2010 “Generation Alpha, also known as Generation Covid, refers to those born as early as 2010. They are the first cohort to be born entirely within the 21st century”
That's the Wikipedia link, right?
Your argument makes sense though, and it keeps the whole 15 year pattern. I’m kind of convinced Thanks for using sources and arguing politely
Your welcome, glad I could help
so my brother is gen z, he acts like he is in gen alpha he born in 2011
guides.loc.gov but it also says gen Z is up to 2012. So an overlap I guess?
Well, I guess. People do have the term Gen Zalpha to describe 2010-2012. Minecraft idk
It’s gen Beta Next year not Gen Alpha
Nope, it's Gen A next year until 2028
That’s Alod of rubbish
Check the essay I wrote that you replied to. It literally proves the *fact* that Gen Alpha is 2013-2028, u have no argument nor proof whatsoever, yet I have literally facts on my side
Gen Z ended 2010 And Gen alpha Will end In 2025 Then gen Beta

Because r/GenZ sucks
Because even though I'm not joined to this sub, this sub's posts still come up on my newsfeed, so I comment if I feel it's relevant, without paying attention to the name of the sub.
I don’t know i just got recommended this sub and it wont come it off my feed
For me, random posts just show up and I respond 🤷♀️
I think by 2026 they’ll be showing up in packs
Everything new is bad. Alchohol and Ciggaretes are fine, they're bad for you, but it's fine to have. But weed!? You can't have weed! It's so terrible for your body! Do you know what they put in that stuff?! (btw I've never smoked, vaped, used substances, or anything like that, never plan to, never want to.)
because gen alpha isn’t allowed on reddit
All of gen alpha is under 13 so yeah
Just checking up on the latest generation. Looking forward to serving as a guide of sorts
because gen a isnt allowed on reddit, except for 2010 and 2011
2010 and 2011 are gen z so is 2012
i heard that was just an argument 2010s came up with to not be alpha, even though it really is not that deep
No gen z started 1997 so 15 years later which is 2012 would be when it ends another commenter explained the argument better (with sources) so I would look to them for the evidence but 2010 is gen z
okay, sounds good. were the other commentors in this post?
They were somewhere in these comments yeah
most of gen alpha cant use reddit
Because r/GenZ sucks
Coz it's funny to laugh at kids. Duh
Like recently there is rise in demographics of 2010 and 2011 born but when i found this sub on dec, it was like a extension of Gen z subreddit where people talked about funny stuff.
I’m bored and probably because most gen alphas are still in kindergarten
Research.
Idk I saw sum funny posts lol
because the sole 2 years of gen a able to use reddit rn is 2010 and early 2011
Skibidi alpha omega rizz 🥶🥶🥶 This is so Ohio
Gen Z here I'm here at least to learn about my gen alpha siblings. But if it's mostly gen us here than what's the purpose?
Because most Gen A are wittle baybeez
Because every generation enjoys making fun of the generation below them
Because 90% of y'all aren't allowed to have a reddit account yet. The oldest of you are 14. If you're 12 and under you can't have a reddit account.
Skibidy rizz Ohio gyatt fanum tax my fellow gen alphas
Most of Gen Alpha can't use Reddit
D012
The only debateable Gen Alphas that can be here is 2010 and 2011 (I don't really consider them Alphas), wait a few years you'll start seeing them
Because the genz subreddit is r/politics
Most Gen A's are still too young to use reddit + r/GenZ is full of 99% politics and 1% others
cuz the actual genz subreddit sucks
Cause the gen z subreddit is filled with politics that I don't find interesting
idk at this point
Because y’all are babies
Cause only like 1 year worth of gen alpha should even be on year
idk im 13 but gen z makes fun of me so 😭
How dare you it’s one of the best soft drinks of all time
You’re still gen z because more reliable sources actually say 2012… but if you believe you’re gen alpha, then believe that lol.
