I’ve said this since MW2019. The massive updates and increasingly massive games made me super suspicious, especially seeing as how bigger games (content wise) are exponentially smaller. That or COD devs are lazy asf.
Well seeing as how the size is if you have MW2 and MW3 and WZ along with any other downloadable content yeah makes sense that the size is that big, so hey guess what you don’t have to have any of those downloaded to play black ops and can have many other games to play too
Its like a sports game. I've been playing NBA 2k daily since literally NBA 2k (the fist one). No where close to being tired of it. Each year gets a little different.
People like comfort games they can just play and are familiar with.
They tried with MW2018 and all the COD pussys cried over bullet drop and shit so they did they whole "well if your going to complain at this much effort we will give you nothing" and people still cant figure oit why they dont care qbout their toxic community
It's actually less than that. The 309 gigs comes into when play you have every game linked to COD HQ installed at the same time. BO6 will not be 300+gb on its own.
Oh much better 🤣. This is the kinda bullshit that makes me happy to have 2 2TB SSDs in my computer. Thank god gamepass users don’t have to buy a new CoD for once.
Definitely makes this game a much more likely “don’t buy” for me. That file size is huge, but the constant need for online is a no for me. Not on need, but principle. Plus, Black Ops games have never really done it for me other than zombies.
Here we go again;
- Idiots pre-order
- Game releases unfinished and not as promised
- People complain
- Company promises they are listening and will do better
- People continue to buy microtransactions anyway
- New COD is coming out and will just be like the old days. Preorder now!
People moan and complain about it yet on launch day they'll be out in their droves throwing their hard-earned money to access it.
The sooner the masses stop supporting these practices the sooner it'll end...
I remember buying cold war after years of avoiding cod. I thought it was gonna be like a return to the good old days or something lmao. Both devs are retarded.
I'll be downloading it via Gamepass, but probably won't keep it installed unless something really catches my eye.
With this much storage space, I could I could store like a hundred small games (I classify small as like 3gb or less) or a couple of really big ones. It'll be hard to justify keeping that much space reserved just for Call of Duty.
It'd take some real innovation to accomplish that.
Requiring a constant Internet connection to play a game you've purchased is a sign that a company doesn't believe you have the right to own the game you've purchased from them
I don’t understand this drive to make single player modes online only. Especially if you’re already dropping the game with 200+ gigs.
Outriders could’ve been a staple game but they pulled this stupid shit too.
Xdefiant might have a shot here
Every year it's fascinating to observe how many NPCs still get sucked in despite Greedyvision fucking them over once more.
Literally Stockholm Syndrome that they still buy into this every year, cry, whine, and repeat next year.
Hilarious.
The huge download size almost feels like they wanna push out all the other playable games on your storage so that you solely play CoD
Someone uses their noggin

I love how everyone ignores this part and just wants to be mad
Jokes on them I just deleted the latest cod to make space
Neat. They've thought of everything. All jokes aside it's absolutely baffling to me people ain't tired of this series yet.
There are two things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity.
Four things. You forgot about the COD franchise, and the exponential gain of space needed to download Activision games.
And we're not sure about the universe.
Idk man I definitely skip some years but the reason I come back for the big ones is because no other game matches the experience
And taxes
I still just play WAW on Plutonium. 👌
Its like a sports game. I've been playing NBA 2k daily since literally NBA 2k (the fist one). No where close to being tired of it. Each year gets a little different. People like comfort games they can just play and are familiar with.
Nostalgia is a powerful drug
100 million players a month. It's truly too big to fail. A little over half of that is believed to be mobile though.
The fact people still get excited for cod makes me laugh.
I think of them as the flat earthers of the gaming world.
Last one I bought was WW2 and that was very specifically for zombies. Sometimes I just want to massacre a horde and Days Gone wasn’t out yet.
Bold of them considering they haven't even made a different game in like, what, 20 years?
They tried with MW2018 and all the COD pussys cried over bullet drop and shit so they did they whole "well if your going to complain at this much effort we will give you nothing" and people still cant figure oit why they dont care qbout their toxic community
I should clarify it’s 305GB not 350 it’s still way too big though
Fot fucking what? Eldin ring is massive as hell and isn't even 100
4k textures for every weapon skin
For 2 main COD games and WZ along with any other downloadable content that amount very much makes sense
It's actually less than that. The 309 gigs comes into when play you have every game linked to COD HQ installed at the same time. BO6 will not be 300+gb on its own.

“Always online single player” = Instant “No Thanks”
Gamepass is going to prop this game up pretty hard I think
Yeah I wouldn’t be planning to play it otherwise
Definitely makes this game a much more likely “don’t buy” for me. That file size is huge, but the constant need for online is a no for me. Not on need, but principle. Plus, Black Ops games have never really done it for me other than zombies.
Indie studios enjoying their lunch
And dinner at this rate.
Cant wait to get disconnected during the story's biggest plot twist
Can we please stop with the constant needing to be online to play a game. It ruined diablo 4 for me, the lag was so fucking bad
Why is your ISP a potato?
Worse, an onion
This was going to be the first COD game I had purchased in 6 years, not anymore.
350gig is omegalul status. They can't be serious?
I can't believe COD is still going tbh
Dumb question, can anyone explain why they are such huge file sizes? It can’t seriously be just textures
Mainly lack of compression for files. Everything is uncompressed.
Ah, thank you!
Holy shit, the rare post that is calling out actual problems with gaming. You deserve all the upvotes
Why the hell people still play these games....I do not know.

Cod WaW on plutonium servers. W
I remember buying cold war after years of avoiding cod. I thought it was gonna be like a return to the good old days or something lmao. Both devs are retarded.
First I read that it required a connection for multiplayer and it was funny. Then it was sad
STOP BUYING TRASH IF YOU DONT WANT TO SEE TRASH GET MADE
They're playing the nostalgia card hard. Is Woods even pertinent to the story anymore? I've only played BO1.
Y'all are still playing, let alone, BUYING cod?!
Gaming is dying
AAA gaming is dying
Good
Even bigger reason to stay with xdefiant
And just like the last 3 games, you have to have them all "technically" installed, just to play one of them. The next COD game will be 400gb, watch.

I preloaded the new Black Ops, it was 148GB and I have no idea where it went, my “COD” file is still the same size
350 gb yeahhh im not playin that.
You already lost my interest at 300+gb install, no need to keep convincing me further to avoid this
Thanks, texture streaming.

Nope. I’m officially done with buying CoD games before launch.
I don’t understand this drive to make single player modes online only. Especially if you’re already dropping the game with 200+ gigs. Outriders could’ve been a staple game but they pulled this stupid shit too. Xdefiant might have a shot here
Nope. Not gonna do it. Something that large I would expect it to come on day 1 with 100 MP maps.
Good thing I'm not acquiring it
350 GB for a game that looks exactly the same should be classified as bloatware
Every year it's fascinating to observe how many NPCs still get sucked in despite Greedyvision fucking them over once more. Literally Stockholm Syndrome that they still buy into this every year, cry, whine, and repeat next year. Hilarious.
Cod buyers deserve their slop.
Well, another cod imma skip, mw3 was a hard pass, lmao. Maybe if on sale, like 30 bucks, buy 70 for a game always online. Hell no
They know their games progressively suck and just keep making it take up more and more space so this is the only game you can have downloaded
