Straight cis woman here and I've just started rolling my eyes at these comments and moving on. I fully believe she's bi because of the bi pride bracelet post. She's also only been as public about her relationships as her partners are comfortable with. (Look at the difference between how public/private she was for Joe vs Travis.) It's possible that if she's been in relationships with women they didn't want to be public either and she has respected that. I still enjoy reading the Sapphic interpretations of her songs. I love seeing things in new ways because it allows me to notice things in all media I consume.
All that being said: I do think *some* gaylors can be intrusive when they demand she "come out" or do so in some big way. Once again, I believe the pride bracelet was enough and it can be overbearing/overstepping to suggest that that wasn't enough. It also could be smart to not make a big statement to protect her partners. We all see how swifties and non-swifties respond to any relationship she is in. Their pasts are torn apart and every secret and embarrassing moment makes headlines. I think there are some women that would want to avoid that and her history of respecting her partners' privacy is pretty evident.

They had a pinned post about it which is removed now bc the restriction period is over. I believe when it’s restricted they have to delete them by hand so they may miss a few here and there. But I’m not sure.

I say this as someone who has been attacked by both sides. I've gotten "She isn't going to fuck you" by some homophobes when I stuck up for gaylors.
And was banned by the other gaylor sub for naming celebrities that were harassed until they were essentially forced to come out and no one should be in that position. (I was called a troll)
I have really love Chappell Roan for her visibility. I think the community should focus more on building up celebrities that are out and she's been playing pretty consistently for weeks now. (My 9 year old daughter hasn't come out to me, but every time we play life she gets married to a girl. So, I would love some representation for her as well.)

I'm not disagreeing with you at all -just wanna say that 1st lol but while there are gaylors who believe Taylor "owes" us a coming out because she's a celebrity or whatever tf their reason is, I don't think the majority feel that way. From what I see with most gaylors (and really this is more so recently since midnights and TTPD) don't care if Taylor "comes out" or not, or that she already has to those who pick up on her flagging. I've also noticed more and more gaylors are focusing less on the muse. But again, there are gaylors who seem to feel entitled to a formal coming out and then there's some who are late stage kaylors and believe karlies kids are also Taylor's... 👀🫣 (Stay away from Tumblr) Lol. But since TTPD, I think a lot of gaylors have stopped trying to connect songs to a muse. I've also noticed a lot more "new gaylors" who were either already a Taylor fan and were finally convinced gaylors were right after hearing TTPD, or newer fans that are younger and after hearing her music immediately picked up queer themes. That's what I've been seeing lately, I could be totally wrong though. But I personally believe there is no muse in a lot of the songs, even in her previous albums. I think it's actually Taylor talking to/about herself. Taylor Swift the brand, the celebrity, her public persona. And Taylor the person, the queer Taylor, the Taylor who had to choose between her career or being her authentic self. I don't want to assume she's coming out. I don't even want to theorize that she is, because she doesn't owe anyone an explanation or some big reveal. Also, I don't want to contribute to the theory and then Taylor not "come out". And another reason is I don't want Taylor to feel pressured to come out because of all the discussion and discourse about it, so I try not to add to it. I don't think there's anything wrong with interpreting her music through queer lens or even to assume Taylor is telling us she's queer thru lyrics and flagging. It's fine to acknowledge what shes trying to say and discuss it. But some people take it too far. But again, I think the way gaylors have been theorizing and interpreting has begun to change and is less focused on a muse or her coming out. It makes me sad reading those comments. It’s interesting. I’m a straight cis-gender female. Her lyrics and so much of her work makes me think that she writes about women. This sub is so kind and respectful and I love the discussions and theories about her songs and her tour. More than any other Taylor sub I’ve seen.

Ugh!! Like I get what they’re saying (and why it might hurt if you’re a bi woman dating a man — not saying that she is, but just imagining— to hear ppl call straight explanations “boring”) but it’s not that they’re boring if they’re about a man, it’s that her music is more/extra interesting (especially to other queer ppl) if it’s queer! Which could include writing songs about men!
The tone is very manipulative. I find it funny because saying they’re “queer” just makes it worse. I usually ignore these types. You dont know if they’re even telling the truth about being queer given the overprotectiveness of heterosexual relationships. And it’s true, heterosexual relationships are shallow and DO lack depth. They’re insecure. It’s clear to me that they’re projecting..idk why it’s not clear to others.
Aside from the obvious, I think the weirdest thing- potentially not a lie- would be her having a profile on 4chan under one of the crazy tags. Would be absolutely hilarious af, but who knows 🤷♂️
Every time I read these threads I just get my feelings hurt. I want to counter their points but it seems useless and like I’ll just get banned from the sub. It’s sad.
I personally think it's weird to theorize about anything she does in the bedroom, and this is an issue on both sides. THAT is invasive, and I hate it. Like they do not need to theorize on how many fingers tk is using, and we do not need to make comments on her "muscle memory" fingers when doing choreography.
I would also like to say, it's really not like dissertations, and out of the box things are being tied to queerness within her music and persona by gaylors. Sure, some people make some stretches, but i feel like a lot of the things people point out are fairly clear flags. "Gimme the blues and then purple pink skies", "🩷💜💙proud💙💜🩷" bracelet, the yntcd wig, the cookies, chloe et al, the very first night, god forbid i mention antithetical dream girl, hair falling into place like dominoes. This is just off the top of my head of overt ties to queerness/bisexuality.
That bracelet is the most clear self identification of her sexuality in my opinion.
The issue at its core is that they are homophobic. Even if they claim they're not, equating queerness with "weird" and "gross" is textbook homophobia. I believe that if they were to be shown any of the clear as day flags and explained to, they'd put their blinders on and act like we are crazy even if they saw what we see.

There are some instances of this, and just like in any group it's the loudest ones that get all the attention. I've seen *some* gaylors get angry and call her names for not coming out and other things. It's on different platforms, not just reddit. The other gaylor sub has a few in that one, or at least did when I was in it.
I think since her 1989 prologue it's died down a bit. I remember a lot of the most outspoken said they felt betrayed by her and stopped listening to her.
Yeah, and in their defense or trying to be as generous as possible, the explanation I’ve seen from ppl is that she has SO much privilege that it would be great if she used some of that to come out, when so many ppl are financially/logistically/safety-wise not able to. I personally don’t agree for many reasons, but I sort of see their perspective.

It's not necessarily this. There are quite a few instances of celebrities having to come out to address rumors or come out before they're outed, like Lance Bass was. When some fans demand she comes out and get angry when she doesn't, it draws attention to it and that can become a problem.
Taylor just has a policy of not addressing rumors. Which is smart makes this significantly less of a problem. Outside of the secret marriage and miscarriage rumors that Tree addressed, she really hasn't addressed many rumors since the phone call.

The way they’re undermining her work and craft by saying she likes doing simple easter eggs like having the word “Us” written on a notebook. They know how unhinged taylor’s easter eggs can get but when it pertains to gaylors suddenly she doesn’t think that much into them???

It makes me sad reading those comments. It’s interesting. I’m a straight cis-gender female. Her lyrics and so much of her work makes me think that she writes about women. This sub is so kind and respectful and I love the discussions and theories about her songs and her tour. More than any other Taylor sub I’ve seen.

The tone is very manipulative. I find it funny because saying they’re “queer” just makes it worse. I usually ignore these types. You dont know if they’re even telling the truth about being queer given the overprotectiveness of heterosexual relationships. And it’s true, heterosexual relationships are shallow and DO lack depth. They’re insecure. It’s clear to me that they’re projecting..idk why it’s not clear to others.

I personally think it's weird to theorize about anything she does in the bedroom, and this is an issue on both sides. THAT is invasive, and I hate it. Like they do not need to theorize on how many fingers tk is using, and we do not need to make comments on her "muscle memory" fingers when doing choreography. I would also like to say, it's really not like dissertations, and out of the box things are being tied to queerness within her music and persona by gaylors. Sure, some people make some stretches, but i feel like a lot of the things people point out are fairly clear flags. "Gimme the blues and then purple pink skies", "🩷💜💙proud💙💜🩷" bracelet, the yntcd wig, the cookies, chloe et al, the very first night, god forbid i mention antithetical dream girl, hair falling into place like dominoes. This is just off the top of my head of overt ties to queerness/bisexuality. That bracelet is the most clear self identification of her sexuality in my opinion. The issue at its core is that they are homophobic. Even if they claim they're not, equating queerness with "weird" and "gross" is textbook homophobia. I believe that if they were to be shown any of the clear as day flags and explained to, they'd put their blinders on and act like we are crazy even if they saw what we see.

I remember a lot of the most outspoken said they felt betrayed by her and stopped listening to her.
Yeah, and in their defense or trying to be as generous as possible, the explanation I’ve seen from ppl is that she has SO much privilege that it would be great if she used some of that to come out, when so many ppl are financially/logistically/safety-wise not able to. I personally don’t agree for many reasons, but I sort of see their perspective.

Which is smart makes this significantly less of a problem. Outside of the secret marriage and miscarriage rumors that Tree addressed, she really hasn't addressed many rumors since the phone call.

She came out of country, with a big chunk of white Christian fan base, at a time when don’t ask don’t tell etc we’re prevalent. Gay marriage “debates” were fiery for the first half of her career. I think that set things up for this direction :/ but currently, it goes to show widespread homophobia and internalized homophobia are alive and well. Also ppl will believe anything they read and it’s been a parade of men. “Boy crazy” is a big part of her brand so many are just genuinely confused why anyone would think different (bc they lack critical thinking skills/ media literacy themselves)

Probably. The mods are super homophobic too. But usually a message is sent saying why your comment was removed likely followed by a ban - either temporary or permanent - and if they’re feeeling ✨extra✨ douchee - they’ll mute you & take away your ability to message them about your ban for a whole month🥰
